a stone

Hi all... OK the sun is shining but the summer wardrobe just doesn't fit. I know that this is a temporary blip in the weather and it will rain next week but I would love to be a stone lighter by the time summer starts for real. I feel miserable - anyone want to join me. Starting tomorrow.

Yep me also wanting to lose a stone preferably before summer but summer would do if I can't shift it sooner. How are you going to go about it? Thinking of low carbing but I can't seem to leave the bread and crisps alone at the moment!

helenb706 · 24/02/2019 18:15

Yep... crisps, nuts and white wine are the downfall. I know I can do this as lost over 3 stones after each pregnancy but now my heaviest ever whilst not pregnant. Having an extension built that means I can get all my clothes out if the loft but this is pointless as they won't fit. Aim is a stone in 9 weeks for when they finish!
I weigh 9.7 and want to be 8 and a half. Welcome!

Helen this is meant to be because I also weigh 9 stone 7 and want to weigh 8 stone 7. I am starting in the morning and instead of having a bread based breakfast I will probably have two boiled eggs. If I start the week off well I find I'm more motivated. I am also going to try and squeeze in ten minutes of HIT each morning to give me a boost. Good luck!

twobambinos · 24/02/2019 21:07

Me can I join. I was down to prepregnancy weight but seem to have put on half a stone in mere weeks.. Andid like to lose that and another half. I've started already. On Friday I filled a bag with all the junk food in the house its been constant eating since Christmas. Well its gone now and I'm hoping that that will be alot of the battle.

twobambinos · 24/02/2019 21:07

Oh and I'm 10st 7 and would like be 9st 7.

O4FS · 24/02/2019 21:10

Can I join? I’m doing the 800 Fast diet and it’s brilliant, but as of yesterday evening I fell heavily off the wagon! A stone would do me fine (Inwas 10 pounds down as of yesterday lunchtime, I imagine I’m down to 6 after the last 24 hours!)

Eattothebeat · 24/02/2019 21:21

Welcome two bambinos and 04FS!

I too can gain a half stone in the blink of an eye twobambinos. 04FS tell us what you normally eat on an 800 calorie day - I want to try one fast day each week but I'm scared of being too hungry.

helenb706 · 24/02/2019 22:26

Welcome all. Ok let's get this thing sorted. Talk tomorrow. X

I’d like to join! I’ve gained at least 6 lbs over winter and had an oh shit moment earlier when I realised I go on holiday in 4 weeks. It’d be great to lose a stone by then and have a chat thread to keep me accountable Grin

Globesround · 24/02/2019 22:40

Could I join too? Have munched myself a stone heavier since October. Everything is too tight. I need to sort this out!

Luckingfovely · 24/02/2019 22:44

Me me me too! Have had a very rough couple of years and put a couple of stone on. Need to lose at least one stone before summer. I'm with you!

rainydogday · 24/02/2019 22:46

Can I join! I am 11st 3 and would like to be around 10-10.5 st. I have decided to try the fast800 (Micheal Mosley) based on using MyFitnessPal! I have packed my food for work tomorrow. Plan is to go to spin class before work (which isn't new but over eating is!) stewed plums & yogurt for late breakfast, homemade pea & mint soup. Cherry tomatoes as a snack and a chicken breast with noodles for tea 😇 Hmmmmm....I will report back!

Pinkroseuk · 24/02/2019 22:54

Can I join please - I have lost two stone but need to loose another two before I can get fertility medication :)

maloofhoof · 24/02/2019 22:56

I also weigh 9 stone 7 and want to lose a stone.

helenb706 · 25/02/2019 06:26

Hello everyone. Day 1. Let's do it! No snacking, low carb and low calories for me with a spin class booked for tonight.

rainydogday · 25/02/2019 06:38

Morning! Good luck everyone x

Eattothebeat · 25/02/2019 09:46

Great start to the day here with two boiled eggs and no bread or other carbs. Have some nuts as snacks with me and will have protein and salad for lunch. Remember to drink tons of water everyone - it really makes a big difference - I'm just going to fill my water bottles up now. Will report back tonight! ps this weather helps with the mindset I think!

helenb706 · 25/02/2019 10:06

Indeed it does - almond milk in the tea rather than skimmed. amazing difference in carbs! got to go out tomorrow evening for a work event in a curry house (argh) but just booked my car into the station car park so that I can't be tempted with the wine, which leads to the munchies.

I am going to reward myself with £5 per pound lost - which is what I would have been spending on food to maintain the weight. By the end, I will treat myself to something nice to wear whilst polishing my halo.

Rainydogday - I’ve been doing that for a fortnight. It’s worked really well.

I find Time Restricted Eating really helpful. I eat 11 - 7 and it makes a huge difference.

Eattothebeat · 25/02/2019 10:55

Feeling very motivated and relieved to be back on track after a bad couple of weeks.

mutley1 · 25/02/2019 12:06

Hi can I join too I've just weighed myself at 11st 2lbs it's my heaviest ever and I know I need to do something about it
Does anyone have any advice on portion size, I know it sounds obvious but how did you do it??

twobambinos · 25/02/2019 12:09

So far so good today but I have eaten my lunch already and it's only 12 Hmm
Going to go for a long walk with the baby now. Have been stuck in a major slump this maternity leave so this walk will be a big achievement.

Dextrodependant · 25/02/2019 12:12

Can I join too please. I am also AROUND 9 and a half stone (not weighed for awhile) and would like to lose a stone.

I was looking at old picture a from 2 years ago at the weekend and I was so much slimmer!

helenb706 · 25/02/2019 12:50

Welcome all newbies... so glad to have some motivation as a group. This weather is a reminder of what is coming...we can all hide in baggy winter clothes next week whilst we prepare to emerge as beautiful butterflies come summer. Plenty of time to hit our goals.

Whereareyouspot · 25/02/2019 12:53

Ooh me please!
I am 61kg and fighting weight is 56-57kg

Have just been snacking terribly- I love healthy food but my volumes are all off.

Mindless munching really and evenings are terrible I just surf the kitchen hoovering up stuff. Bit of toast DC have left here and a lick of a spoon, cake nibbles, odd extra yoghurt. It’s all added up.

Do plenty of exercise already so I’m all about no Snacks, less Sugar, less Starchy food.
Have vowed to eat regular meals not graze, sit down when I eat anything at all and savour it. No eating standing up or in the car.

Day one!
