I’m starting tomorrow. I will weigh and measure myself in the morning and plan to log my weight here weekly.
I would love it if you would join me.
Who’s in?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 04/02/2018 12:55

5' 3"

11st 3lbs

Would like to get to 9st 7lbs.

I walk a lot (no choice, have spaniels therefore MUST walk 2-3 hours daily). No other exercise.

I also eat a lot, but am trying to not be so greedy.

Iwasjustabouttosaythat · 04/02/2018 12:57

I haven’t weighed myself but I’m definitely losing weight because my body is doing that weird pear-shaped thing. Top of my tummy is looking so much better but bum and thighs are yet to catch up. Blush

Iwasjustabouttosaythat · 04/02/2018 12:58

Portion control is my main problem. I have been known to eat a litre of ice cream in one sitting...

Maturestudent82 · 04/02/2018 17:00

Portion control is definitely an issue for me. I use mfp and enter absolutely everything and it's really opened my eyes to portion size. By weighing stuff I realised I was way out guessing how much I was eating.

Maturestudent82 · 04/02/2018 17:01

I'm also panicking as meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow and stressing about picking a healthy option Hmm

Iwasjustabouttosaythat · 05/02/2018 01:07

I guess it depends how often you go out for lunch/dinner. A friend is making me brunch on the weekend so I told him to make whatever. I can cut back elsewhere or make up another day. Of course it’s this outlook that could be causing me to be overweight. Grin

wendz86 · 07/02/2018 20:48

I lost a lb this week . Only lb in last two weeks but I did have a takeover the weekend before and dinner out last weekend so could be worse .6 down 10lbs to go .

Funnyfishface · 08/02/2018 21:59

18 Jan 2018 - 9.1
25 Jan 2018 - 8.9
2 Feb 2018 - 8.9
Today - 8.9

Whyyyyyyyy? 😭😭😭 Third baby getting over being sick. I’m hoping we’ll start getting out and about more this week. I’m definitely looking better and clothes are fitting more nicely. Still, the figures are demoralising.

Iwasjustabouttosaythat · 10/02/2018 01:46

I’m excited to report...

Yesterday - 8.9
Today! 8.8!!!! (8.897 but who’s counting?)

Current weight 56.5kg = 124.5p = 8.897st

Goal 23 June: 48kg = 105.82p = 7.55st

Goal moved back a week. I can deal with that if I still see the numbers changing.

How’s everyone else doing?

Iwasjustabouttosaythat · 17/02/2018 01:32

Anyone still doing this?

Maturestudent82 · 18/02/2018 13:45

I'm still going! Down to 9.2 this morning so feeling good. I can definitely feel the difference and starting to see it too, especially in my face.

How's everyone else getting on?

Iwasjustabouttosaythat · 21/02/2018 01:57

Hi Mature! Clothes looking good too? So exciting!

Well, when I posted last time to ask if anyone else was still going, I was down to 8.83st and feeling good. Literally two days later I weighed again and was up to 9.02st! Just how one gains 3 full pounds in 2 days is beyond me. Certainly much easier to put it on than to take it off!

I’m down to 8.865st again now but must learn not to go crazy on the weekends. Hoping to break the 55kg barrier this week.

Looks like it’s just us? What’s your goal again?

Maturestudent82 · 21/02/2018 17:14

Thats amazing, wow!! Huge congratulations, you've done brilliantly. 8st8 would be my absolute dream! My initial goal was nine stone before going on holiday at easter, so will definitely get there which is great. In a dream world I would like to get to 8st7, but not too worried about that for now. Clothes feel much better and my stomach is really showing the difference now. I am determined to never go above nine stone again!! I am also starting to find that its not as difficult t make sensible choices if yo know what I mean. I don't feel like I am missing out so much, where as at the beginning I was miserable and constantly felt like I was going without. It felt like some kind of personal torture regime, but I am a bit more into the swing of it now. It has massively opened my eyes to portion size, I cannot believe how much I used to put away without even thinking about it. Often I was eating relatively healthily, just way, way too much of it. Hopefully I don't blow all my hard work on holiday!!! How're you finding it?

Iwasjustabouttosaythat · 26/02/2018 01:37

56.1kg = 123.6p = 8.834st
Goal 28 June: 48 = 105.82 = 7.55

So back to what I was prior to last weekend. Still not weigh in day so I’m hopeful I’ll break 55kg by then. That goal date has gone back another week unfortunately but 18 weeks away is looking pretty exciting.

I think you’ll definitely make 8.7 by Easter! We’re both doing really well. Picked out a bikini yet?

I know what you mean about making healthier choices though I do find it easy to slip into old habits. A cheese sandwich is just so fast and easy! I think planning it all in advance helps so I don’t even stop to think about what I would like.

Yes, portion size! And especially if I was being “healthy” because I found I just ate all the same stuff but with loads of extra fruit and veg on top! 😂

I don’t get the chance to exercise much other than running around after 3 under 5s, so even though I walk huge distances pushing an 18kg double pram, I’m not estimating calories burned so not letting myself eat extra these days. It seems to be working.

I don’t know how I got away with a whole pizza and several glasses of wine over the weekend. I wonder how long it takes for the effect of fatty food to show on the scales?

montenotte · 28/02/2018 19:19

i have found my people!
I am 5'3" and just hit 10 stone. i wasn't even 10 stone when pg.
I am 46

Not sure what's going on.
I go to the gym twice a week, yoga 1 x week and pilates 1 x week.

I eat ok... probably drink too much (a glass or two 6 nights out of 7, but rarely more, still too much i know) am actively cutting down.

I really need to get back to 9st.

montenotte · 28/02/2018 19:23

Analyse this diet...
7am : scrambled egg on 2 x warburton wholemeal thins
8.30am: smoked salmon on 1 x warburton wholemeal thins
lunch: homemade vegetable soup
3pm (was v hungry) Itsu teriyaki chicken rice pot (590 calories)
7pm - picked at some (kids leftover tea) roast chicken. 1 glass wine.

Iwasjustabouttosaythat · 01/03/2018 01:09

Welcome! It was getting quiet around here.

I’m not sure how good I am at analysing diets but i’ll try!

I don’t know how many calories that is all up, but the Warburton thins are 100 each, so 300 calories just in those first thing, plus the egg and salmon. I would aim for breakfast around the 250 calorie mark. I usually have one egg and one piece of toast for breakfast then try to keep busy until lunch so I can’t think about food.

The soup sounds great but maybe not filling enough if you’re too hungry to wait for dinner and a small snack won’t do.

I think the problem for me has been that if I let myself get too hungry I make bad choices (like pasta all hours). Planning healthy fruit/veg snacks helps because then I don’t let myself think about what I would really like to eat.

I’m also finding that to lose weight I need to be hungry pretty much all the time. I hope that stops when you reach your ideal weight and eat the amount required for equilibrium. I have to believe that. 😂

I just had an avocado and tofurky sandwich and I still want more. I’m imagining a square of chocolate, considering consoling myself with an apple, but i’ll Just have a nice cup of tea.

So today that will be:

Egg on toast with a smattering of leftover tomato pasta sauce and smoked paprika.

Avocado and tofurky sandwich and tea.

Apple snack.

For dinner I think a slice of zucchini frittata and a half frozen banana dipped in chocolate for dessert.

It does NOT help that Rick Stein is on my TV quaffing copious amount of gorgeous looking wine. It. Looks. So. Tasty.

montenotte · 01/03/2018 09:03

thanks Iwasjustabouttosaythat

i've just had a multiseed and cereal bagel thin (125 cals) with a bit of smoked salmon.
Should probably try and lay off the bread completely...

Iwasjustabouttosaythat · 02/03/2018 00:18

So my weigh in goes:

56.1kg = 123.6p = 8.834st
Goal 5 July: 48 = 105.82 = 7.55

Exactly the same as last time except my goal has moved back another week. Sad times. I did weigh mid-morning rather than first thing, so I’m dreaming that maybe it’s not as much as it seems, but I’m clutching at straws there really.

I agree Monte, I need to cut out the carbs. They’re just so easy to reach for. And I want a weekend beer so I will have one. Or two.

It’s definitely coming of but so slooooowly. I should add though that when I put my trousers on this morning they looked so much better! I’ll concentrate on that rather than the scales for now. Wink

Maturestudent82 · 03/03/2018 11:40

I finally broke the 9 stone barrier!!! Yes!!! Was 8:12:6 this morning, ecstatic! Well as happy as I can be as actually got a touch of a hangover Shock I so rarely drink but at husbands work do last night and had a few too many. I also ate a lot! But all protein as I managed to swerve all the carbs. 4 weeks till holiday so I just need to keep it up. Having new favourite of courgetti for lunch. I know it's no beautifully carby pasta but it'll do!

curcur · 03/03/2018 11:47

Would anyone divulge what dress size you are if you’re around 5ft 2 and 10+ stone? Thanks

Maturestudent82 · 03/03/2018 18:18

I was almost ten stone at 5ft3 and was a size 12, 14 in some things.

montenotte · 03/03/2018 20:40

size 12 typically... depends so much on the shop. I carry weight around my waist so legs still quite lean, "egg on legs" was a good description mentioned above!

Iwasjustabouttosaythat · 03/03/2018 23:13

Well done, Mature! You’re so close to your goal!!

My scales wavered at 55.9kg today but settled on 56. This 56 just won’t budge! Next week...
