What did you eat today weight loss thread

Partially inspired by last years epic “what did you eat today” thread, anyone up for restarting one specifically in this section as a way of holding ourselves to account? No matter what your method of weight loss is....

I’m WI tomorrow for the first time in a month and know it won’t be pretty, going to ease myself in with 16:8 for a week and then adjust to either 1200kcal a day or back to 2 fast days a week. Anticipate having about 10lbs to lose.

Today was terrible but I did a transatlantic flight across several time zones so eating was buggered - I’ll start properly tomorrow!

How do you make soups? I just saw a soup maker on amazon or shall I just get a cheap hand blender?

My plan for today:
B: benefit bar and 3x coffees with milk
L: porridge pot, apple, muller light
Snack: small bag popcorn
D: burger with a plastic cheese slice (no bun), sweet potato, lettuce and cucumber
Options hot chocolate

PorklessPie · 08/01/2018 12:01

I make my soups by cooking them on the stove then blitzing in my vitamix. I'm loving cream of soups at the minute, I add oatly cream after cooking before blending.

DeliveredByKiki · 08/01/2018 14:23

I quite like chunky soups so don’t tend to blend but I just use the same blender I use for smoothies, crushing ice etc. I have a ninja which doesn’t get things as smooth as a vitamix but does the job ok

I bloody love soups but have def fallen into a rut of “cook whatever is in the fridge in vegan stock”

Are you vegan also Kiki? We are all vegan (ethical rather than health) so we don't have honey.

DeliveredByKiki · 08/01/2018 17:04

PorklessPie I was pescatarian (minus eggs and dairy) last year, doing Veganuary to reset and see if I can make a full switch over, or at least reduce fish consumption enough that I can afford to once in a blue moon buy from the massively expensive but at least reasonably sustainable fishermen up the coast. I am strictly vegan when eating out

I'm doing it for the planet though, so I do still occasionally have honey too, but am also transitioning into being fully vegan with non-food items too

I lost 5 stone in 6 months when I went vegan (had been a vegetarian for over 20 years before from childhood) I would like to drop one last stone. I'm only 5ft 2 with size 3 feet so quite a small frame.

ihavetogoshoppingnow · 08/01/2018 19:07

Thank you OP i love these threads, was actually thinking of starting one myself.

Lost a stone of post DD2 weight prior to Christmas, had a couple of weeks off and one put on 1lb Smile so back on it now. Just trying to be healthier and make good choices rather than follow a diet, logging in MFP to keep track.

Today....
B: Tea and a bowl of porridge with a handful of raisins in, another tea
L: Half a can of tomato soup, piece of wholemeal toast with butter on
D: Smike haddock fillet, new potatoes, broccoli, garden peas. Diet coke and a peppermint tea
S: Peppermint tea

A bit peckish now, might have a banana or a mullet yoghurt. Would usually be a couple of biscuits Blush

champagneplanet · 08/01/2018 22:03

Sorry for the dreadful typos! Blush

That would be smoked haddock.

And muller yoghurt.

DeliveredByKiki · 09/01/2018 03:55

Too many snacks again

L: slice of bread with hummus and avocado, mushroom miso soup
D: sweet potato, potato and onion pie with fake chicken tenders

Snacks: slice of bread, Punnet of blueberries, some vegetable crisps and hummus, crunchy peas, a couple of strawberries, one rich tea biscuit

CrepuscularCritter · 09/01/2018 07:08

I'm finding lots of ideas here.

The soup was back yesterday; I just use a stick blender if I want a thick texture. Looking forward to more soup today! Yesterday I ate:

B: Porridge and mango

L: spiced parsnip and apple soup with Jerusalem artichoke, celery and onion, nakd bar

D: chili with cauliflower and mushrooms, soy yoghurt

S: Two mint crisp chocolates

imgettingtoooldforthis · 09/01/2018 07:37

God I have had the snack day from hell.... in my defence I did burn 600 calories at F45 !
Breakfast
Plain yoghurt strawberries and high protein granola
Banana
Lunch
Steamfresh rice, peas and spinach
Small tin tuna
Cucumber and carrot
Snack
2 small white nectarines

ThymeLord · 09/01/2018 09:43

Can I join this? Is the idea just to be accountable for what you are eating, and steal other peoples food ideas too?!

PinkHeart5914 · 09/01/2018 14:33

Hello, I’ll join you if that’s ok. I started my diet to lose pregnancy weight 10 days ago and I’ve lost 4lbs already.

Today I’ve had:

I started off the day well, but lost the plot after lunch as I was craving sugar.

B - Greek yogurt, frozen berries. Cup of tea, water.
L - W/meal flatbread, 2 scrambled eggs with mushrooms, salad, tomato's, avocado.

Then lost the plot - 5 chocolate biscuits, 5 York Fruits (those big sweets that look a bit like fruit pastels).
