It’s that time of year again when mince pies attack and the baileys is calling.

Trying to stay on the wagon is easier when you ihave the Slenderistas on your side

I had a kit kat chunky Blush

I daren't weigh myself this week so I'm waiting for Monday. I also have a new year plan to get rid of something bad from my diet each month. January is fizzy pop. I drink too much and it's bad for my skin and my body. February will be crisps. Not that I won't allow myself anything at all, but I can't have these things daily because they're full of crap. And DS is getting older now so I don't want him seeing me eating junk and then asking for fizzy pop and hula hoops for snacks!

twinkledag · 29/12/2017 23:45

That's a good idea @ProseccoMamam, I did that a few years back and it worked well!

HappyGowerGirl · 30/12/2017 07:44

Morning all! We got back home last night and so the Christmas festivities are officially over. I weighed in this morning at 59.8kg, which is just below 60kg so I'm pleased with that (it was my aim to stay below 60kg this month).

I have gained a pound or so during the last two weeks. I really feel like the daily running kept me in check so I really want to keep running (if not daily) in the New Year!

My other New Year's resolution will be to tackle the booze. I know it's normal to indulge a bit over Christmas but I can't even remember when my last alcohol free night was😳

Anyone doing a dry(-ish January)?

Any other lifestyle related New Year's resolutions?

lastqueenofscotland · 30/12/2017 08:02

Sts today but I didn't... ahem... need the loo... so I'm taking it as a moral loss.

Should be a good weekend as I'm soooo busy.

twinkledag · 30/12/2017 08:46

I'm definitely doing Dry January so we can support each other!

ponygirlcurtis · 30/12/2017 09:42

I am planning a Dry January too. I was going to write 'try to do' there but realised I was already allowing myself to cop out. No. I am doing it.

TheDonald · 30/12/2017 10:45

I don't drink anyway but I am planning a sugar free January.

Weigh in this morning had me at 10 11. 6.

I'm not sure I believe it because that would be a 1lb loss since last week. If that's true I'll be following the chocolate and sofa diet permanently! Still I'll take it Grin

I've got a quiet weekend planned. New year plans have fallen through so I am definitely back on it today. (I might have said that yesterday and the day before but I really mean it today!)

poorpaws · 30/12/2017 12:22

I’ll do dry January but that won’t bother me. Sugar fre January will be a living ng hell but I’ll give it a go.

lastqueenofscotland · 30/12/2017 14:09

Already done 16k steps inc a parkrun. Had breakfast late so will skip lunch and out for dinner with my sister but will make sure to choose sensibly.

twinkledag · 30/12/2017 16:09

I keep starting the day on track then thinking 'sod it, I'll start on Monday' Grin

BeyondAssignation · 30/12/2017 16:10

Me too twinkle Grin

TheDonald · 30/12/2017 16:41

Yep me too. It's this time of day that is my downfall. I just need to get through a few days and I know I'll lose the cravings again. I'm going for a walk now to avoid temptation.

BeyondAssignation · 30/12/2017 17:02

There is now no longer a Yule log to tempt me. As of the last ten minutes...

twinkledag · 30/12/2017 19:35

We're all as bad as each other Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 30/12/2017 20:03

I need a hand hold. About to get on the scales...

you're very brave! I'm gonna wait til Tuesday I think, after getting back on the wagon on Monday. Hopefully it'll be a little less depressing!

ponygirlcurtis · 30/12/2017 21:04

How did you get on BOOP? I am not getting on the scales for another week at least!

BitOutOfPractice · 30/12/2017 21:06

Well it wasn't quite as bad as I'd thought. I need to do it again in the morning but I think the damage is about 3lbs

OP posts:
poorpaws · 30/12/2017 22:06

Omg only 3lbs is amazing. I’m sure I’ll be looking at a stone gain at least. I’ll not only need a hand hold, I’ll need an entire body hold! Only one more day and I HAVE to face those dreaded scales, I feel enormous.

poorpaws · 30/12/2017 22:08

I think our January title should have “how to stop Paws being a pig” somewhere in it 😂

MountainDweller · 30/12/2017 23:20

Just wanted to say hi as I've been on a few of these lovely supportive threads during 2016-17 and have lost 8kg, some of which I've regained Angry But have been very half hearted about it since the summer and really need to get tough with myself in the New Year.

I gave myself a week off for Christmas and seem to have gained 2kg Blushthough am hoping it's the type that will fall off quickly when I get back on the wagon. Chocolate and leftovers are my downfall - don't even want to think about how many calories there are in home made Christmas pudding with brandy butter and cream! I don't even drink much (a few sips of wine if DH or others are having a glass, due to meds.

I read on another thread about a poster who wanted to lose weight but it took every last bit of her mental and physical energy to do it - that really struck a chord with me. It's just so hard!

Anyway hi to anyone who remembers me and good luck for 2018!

Will be back on the wagon on 1 January - last supper tomorrow of roast rib of beef to look forward to first! (Actually I make excellent roast potatoes with very little oil and don't eat Yorkshire puds as I'm gluten free, so a roast is an ok meal for me really!)

In fact my meals are generally good, no snacking and more water needs to be my mantra!

Am doing 1500 calories with MFP (I have a LOT to lose so should lose a pound a week on that).

splatattack · 31/12/2017 00:26

So this is the dress I managed to fit into..Blush
