It’s that time of year again when mince pies attack and the baileys is calling.

Trying to stay on the wagon is easier when you ihave the Slenderistas on your side

Different strokes for different folk I guess Smile Personally I like to do a couple of fast days a week, it seems to make a difference.

Thanks so much you guys. He was 17 so he had good innings and a very happy life. I'm 29 so that means he's been around for very nearly 2/3 of my life, so it does feel like a family member's died. Rough timing right before Christmas and not that long after Dad died. This Christmas is going to be weird, with all the male members of our little clan suddenly gone.

ANYWAY - the festive clusterfuck marches on, I'm having a Golden Day today, then out tomorrow, then one last GD before 10 solid days blacked out in the social calendar Shock 11 if you count NYD, with its traditional recovery carb fest...

Softpebbles · 19/12/2017 11:22

Sorry to hear of your news Quim. RIP Quimdog. X

It sounds like you have a busy time between xmas and new year. Ours is relatively quiet and I've only not got the girls for one day so I am pleased about that :)

I have suggested going to the seaside for a day or to some national trust places for the fresh air and exercise. At the gym the other day they said no classes between xmas and new year - I was Shock I was depending on them so I may have to run more!

Xmas dinner at work today and I've already had a hot chocolate and 2 Jaffa cakes! That's what happens when you have marmite on toast for dinner Blush

Still 10st 10...

BitOutOfPractice · 19/12/2017 11:30

Morning. Hope you're ok Quim

Just having my festive nails done

Lost a lb this week I've been nailing the food side of things but the Christmas drinking isn't helping I don't think Blush

QuimReaper · 19/12/2017 11:45

I'm having mine done tomorrow BOOP! What have you gone for? I think I'm going gold, but I might go moody with sparkles again...

Softy it's mad. Matinées, friends coming to stay, boozy lunches... Even in the first week of Jan I have two theatre trips lined up. I really think it's because Christmas has fallen on a Monday this year, I much prefer it when it falls on a weekend so that it contains the celebrations to their usual place a bit (i.e. the weekends), but having two days of post-Christmas celebrations with friends on the 27th and 28th was always going to be tricky, it means I can't really recover between Christmas and New Year.

Still, I've just looked back at the calendar for last Christmas, and seen that I had seven bad days on the trot from the 19th to the 26th; one Golden Day; one Bad Day; one Golden Day; three bad days, and then after a Golden Week I was a linda lighter than I had been at the start of it all. Obviously this is worse, but I'm clinging to that and hoping it means the situation can be recovered by the end of Jan!

TheDonald · 19/12/2017 12:00

I spent yesterday shopping and visiting old colleagues in the city. Lots of tea and biscuits followed by curry but also 22k steps so I'm hoping that balanced it out.

Today I'm at home and planning a long run later, so should be a good day. Then from tomorrow onwards I've got 6 days of family visits and social events.

The main problem is I've got my sugar cravings back. The difference it makes to my appetite is scary. No chance of getting myself back on the wagon until next Wednesday but then I'm definitely quitting the sugar again.

Today I'm just trying to hold out as long as possible before starting on the chocolates. I think if I can limit it to evenings only it has to help.

Still 10 stone 11 though. Really hoping I can stay there until the end of the month. I'm going to aim for 10 7 in January.

HappyGowerGirl · 19/12/2017 14:56

Oh god Hair I've just had a noisy three course work lunch... EVERY course involved pastry! Plus I didn't know about this work lunch this morning so had an almond croissant with my coffee!!! OMG, pastry heaven....!

HairsprayBabe · 19/12/2017 15:18

I'll probably not bother with dinner DP is out at the xmas markets anyway!

HappyGowerGirl · 19/12/2017 16:12

Me too Hair, no need for dinner here!
Ps I meant boost, not noisy😂

IheartCaptainHolt · 19/12/2017 18:36

Lost 1.5lb today so that's most of the 2lb I put on last week. Aiming to maintain over xmas so going well so far. Lost 3.5lb this month in total so happy with that.
