Hi , being or having a thread like this that I update and feel part off really motivates me to stick to the plan . Please join in.
I have been dieting since April 10 th , I am 5 ft 1and have went from 10 stone 1 to last week 8 stone 13.
However I've had a shitty diet few days and I'm due my period so today was up to 9 stone 4 .
This is when I'm really bad at saying feck it !
However , my aim is by July 3rd to be 8 stone 7lb and go away my holiday to no doubt put some back on :)
I calorie count on MFP , I still eat crisps etc but try to keep them to low cal ones.
I am trying to increase my water and trying to get on my exercise bike but not doing brilliantly with that.
I weigh every day .
Hopefully other folk will want to join otherwise I'll just update to myself :)

I can do low carb I just can't do no carb. Sounds like you're doing really well off it though. Today I had soup for lunch and a sandwich for dinner. Committed a sin and didn't have breakfast but if I'm not hungry I don't see the point

Anybody got any weekend plans or tips for avoiding the binge eating?

Xoticdreamz · 14/07/2017 12:11

Hey ladies ( where are you all hiding!)
Got back last night, really relaxing and stunning holiday . Very much enjoyed it . I tried on most days to have a healthy brunch and a healthyish dinner , no chips at all I don't think which is not like me . Loads of amazing fish and vegetables though . I share a bottle of wine or prosecco every evening and then switched to vodka and Coke Zero . Apart from one hotel restaurant could not find any slimline tonic which I really missed and even in the supermarkets no diet juice apart from the Coke which was very strange !
Anyway I was a bit scared to weigh in this morning especially as I'm due my period tomorrow and had a cheese toastie, pringles and two mini rose wines on the plane home last night 😀 But I am 8 stone 13 😀😀😀
I'm so pleased at that , that's the 5 lb that I was happy to gain and not the usual 10lb that I do .
It has also made me much less likely to carry on the holiday mode and order a take away and a bottle of wine tonight as I know I can get rid of this in a couple of weeks .
Sorry for the huge long post .., please update how you all are getting on but I'm so happy and having a thread to update has made all the difference.

Hi I'm still here 😂 So glad you had an amazing holiday.... only 6 days until mine. Sounds like you've got it figured out you will lose that 5lb in no time! weighed in this morning and had another 2lb off so I've lost more than what I originally I said I'd be happy with! I'm probably gunna keep posting even though it's gone quiet just because it keeps me motivated 🙈 x

Xoticdreamz · 14/07/2017 19:40

Hi Pea , 6 days woo hoo . You have done brilliantly. Keeps me motivated as well ( plus stops me going on to my husband )
I'm hoping I get rid off the 5 lb over the next couple of weeks .. fingers crossed.

peabizzle · 14/07/2017 21:29

You will smash it. It will be gone before you know it! Haha yeah same my other half is proper gym guy and never needs to diet cos of the amount of exercise he does (not my cup of tea, I'd rather skip a meal than go for a run!) x

Xoticdreamz · 15/07/2017 11:27

Snap right there Pea , I can be bothered with the gym really . I'm happy enough to do a few sets of squats etc when I'm waiting on the kettle boiling etc 😂But in general going to the gym for a class takes up to much of my time and day .
Anyway scales were very kind this morning and that's me 8 stone 10 .
Treated myself to a new dress .
Back to the rainy reality of home though and already missing the sunshine.
Any nice plans for the weekend anyone ?

That's good see your already on your way. I've been working all day today only one more shift until the holiday!! Off to get the last bits tomorrow and then I'll be packing and cleaning the house so nothing exciting really. I will confess that I had a massive chippy for tea cos I couldn't be arsed cooking 🙈 whoops! x

Xoticdreamz · 16/07/2017 09:29

Hope you have a brilliant time , I love a chippy tea you have made me fancy one !
I'm back to 8 stone 8 amazingly enough . Really surprised although was really good yesterday. Hope the last shift flys for you today.

Oh am so glad you're all still here !!!! Had a week ago, ate loads, really enjoyed it, came back about 300stone (not true) but have been back on the wagon all week.
Weight 11.3 (target 10.10) - so still slightly more than before I went away, but not too bad.

Hope you have a fantastic holiday Pea !
Xotic are you planning to hang around on this thread ? wouldn't mind the motivation to get rid of this half a stone. BTW tried to find those chickpeas in H+B and she insisted they didn't sell them anywhere !

I'm going away again in about 2 weeks, and would love to be under 11st by then - so my short term target is 4lb in two weeks - eeek, that actually sounds quite a lot given how hard it's been to get the first 3lb off !!

peabizzle · 17/07/2017 07:01

Thankyou guys hopefully I won't put all the weight back on.... only some haha. I'll still be popping in whilst I'm over there to stop me from going too wild! I totally have faith that you can do 4lb in two weeks Smile

Xoticdreamz · 17/07/2017 17:27

Hey , 4lb in two weeks no problem Ruffle .. how weird about the chickpeas! They are made by a company called Gambanzo or something like that but come up straight away on google if you put Holland and Barrett and chickpeas in !

Yes I will still be posting , I have loads coming up over the next few weeks , a weekend away festival , my daughters 22 nd birthday , a long weekend in lanzarote and my sisters wedding so expensive and food filled !

I doubt you will put all the weight on take the advice I took from you , indulge a bit and enjoy yourself .

Well very weirdly I stepped on the scales and was 8 stone 7lb this morning , my original target weight !! I haven't actually been that hungry since I came back and have not had any gin plus my period started this morning so I'm really not sure how or why I've lost so quickly but perhaps having a wee indulge when away boosted my metabolism or something .
I am setting a new target for 8 stone 4 which was around what I maintained for years , don't want to go any lower than that though as they say face or waist .
22 lb s lost since April though .. we should all be chuffed with ourselfs.

RufflingFeathers · 18/07/2017 08:43

Wow - well done Xotic, am so pleased for you!

I've also gone down - 11st 1.5 this morning, coming off much quicker than last month. Maybe it's the heat LOL.

Am quite enjoying being in 'the zone' - I'm really enjoying how when you don't consume vast quantities of something you actually taste and appreciate it more e.g. having 4 maltesers rather than a whole bag. Moderation is great ! (can't believe I just wrote that).

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 18/07/2017 08:55

Hello all! I don't have a huge amount to lose - I weighed in at 8st 13.5lbs this morning, but I'd like to get down to 8st 8lbs. Problem is, it's REALLY hard to maintain and I know I need to get off my arse and exercise more!

I'm vegan, so it's carbs/pulses a-go-go over here, but I'm trying to be careful with portions and eat plenty of salad. I'd love to tone my stomach a bit - damn you C section flap! - but I'll settle for it being flatter and less obvious under bikini bottoms Grin

Xoticdreamz · 18/07/2017 10:36

Woo hoo Ruffling and thank you, I'm so pleased.. I really didn't think I would see 8 . 7 again . I think it must be about 5 years since I was this weight and can actually see reaching 8.4 again .
I absolutely agree about appreciating food and the taste more .

OP posts:
Xoticdreamz · 18/07/2017 10:44

Welcome Beauty , I'm sure you can do it . My stomach was such a mess after my three that I got a massive tattoo that covers it all up .. bit extreme but hey ho . It makes me feel better .
It's all about feeling the best you can , I will always have stretch marks on my legs and hate the saggy skin on my thighs but I can cope with that much better if I'm feeling at a weight I feel happy with .
The maintenance bit I'm not great at either , although this most recent holiday surprised me cause I didn't pile it back on . I was much more mindful but I think it's also the first time in a good few years that I didn't do low carb . It works to get it off for me but is very short term and I have huge gains which make me lose faith and binge.
If I get to 8/4 I think I will be happy to try my best to maintain between that and 8/7 and reign it in again if I feel I'm going over.

OP posts:
Xoticdreamz · 19/07/2017 09:40

So very weird. I weighed in today and am 8 stone 5lb . I'm on day 3 of what is a horrendous period so I can only think I actually lost weight when away and was on the bloat when I came back . The only thing I have done differently is not drink any alcohol and not back at work yet . I'm always much more hungry when I'm working .
Anyway I'm not complaining just the body is weird .. let's go of a measly half pound a week for ages then all off a sudden lose really quickly .
I'm away out for lunch and drinks today so will no doubt indulge a bit and then back to work on Thursday so I'm sure it will either go up or slow right down .
My target is 8 stone 4 and I wasn't expecting to be that for quite a few weeks anyway .
All about the maintenance then which seems easier on the calorie reducing diet than the low carb however god I really don't want it all to pile on again .
I was choosing a dress to wear today and realised I can now wear almost everything in my wardrobe!!!
Really the 10 th April when I started was not that long ago . It just shows how much of a both automatic and emotional eater and drinker I am.
Hope everyone is having a great day ... 1/2 days Pea .. you must be really looking forward to it.

That's so weird Xotic - our bodies are a mystery !
Still at 11st 1.5 here, pleased with that.
Hormones are bad today and I want to eat everything in sight - NOT GOOD !!

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 19/07/2017 20:39

I'm trying not to weigh myself so often - I got into the habit of doing it every morning when I woke up, and the numbers on the scales fluctuate like crazy things and it does my self esteem NO good!

I've been so lazy today - bloody muggy weather and toddler DS2 driving me round the bend. Mind you, according to my Fitbit, I've walked 7700 steps - I haven't done anywhere near that many, but I did spend a good 40 minutes churning out flour tortillas with a rolling pin, so I'm going to go right ahead and say that my arms did a lot of walking today Grin

RufflingFeathers · 20/07/2017 09:35

LOL at arms walking Beauty!!

Had a bit of a lax day food wise yesterday (understatement) but am back on it now. Going to have cottage cheese and ryvita for lunch with a salad and then paella for tea, and try not to nibble on the extras throughout the day. Starting off with no breakfast. Will report in at end of day !
Feel so close to getting under 11st now that I'd really like to get there as soon as possible !

Xoticdreamz · 21/07/2017 10:51

Hey ladies , went out on wed and ate loads and drank loads was okay yesterday but the scales were back to 8 stone 8 today .. which is fine . I would like to try and be 8 stone 4 in around 3/4 weeks . The slow weight loss thing for me seems to work better and have less rebound gains anyway .
Hope you are all having a good day .
I'm going to buy some off my beloved chick peas today 😂I haven't had any since I came back from holiday.

RufflingFeathers · 21/07/2017 11:35

Hey all, good day yesterday although it did end with fish and chips. - I think I'm already thinking ahead to maintaining. I lost a bit of weight a few years ago (1.5stone) and I've basically kept it a stone off no problem but this half a stone that I'm losing now seems to come on reasonably quickly.
Have any of you thought about how maintenance is going to work eg how often you'll weigh yourself, whether you'll just try and stay generally aware or have two days a week (for eg) when you're a bit more restricted.
Not sure why I'm thinking about this today as still have 5.5lbs to go, but guess I'd rather not be doing this same thing (dieting) this time next year!

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 21/07/2017 15:05

I lost 3st last year, and I've maintained the loss bar the odd few pounds (the ones I'm trying to shift now!). I used MFP the whole time, and eventually I was able to calorie control each meal without really thinking about it, because I was so used to entering it all into MFP and seeing the calorie total.

I do a lot of cooking so was able to put together loads of different meals that were all around 400cals each, and I still cook a lot of the same meals now. It really does help with maintenance - it's when you go back to the way you ate before you started dieting, that's when the problems start!

Xoticdreamz · 21/07/2017 20:39

I've been thinking about it a lot Ruffling, I maintained the same ish weight for years then over the last 4 years have kept jumping up and down the scales , especially doing low carb diets losing a stone or so then immediately putting it back on when going on holiday getting heavier each time .
I was so amazed not to have a big gain whilst away this time and much like Beauty kept a rough calorie guide in my head and tried my best not to go too over.
I will no doubt continue to weigh daily and once I hopefully get to 8:4 just kerb it in for a few days if I'm putting on weight .
Massive congratulations on the 3 stone beauty!

Hey all - down again to 11st 1 today, but hormones haven't been great and am deffo feeling the food-craving :(
Having a more relaxed day today and having a glass of wine etc. Not sure why exactly it feels so much easier to be strict during the week but not at weekends - maybe that will be key moving forward - rethinking how I view weekends etc.

Feel like my stomach is shrinking a little though, which is good. Had a small fried rice for dinner and it felt massive.

Keep on going you all ! I'm away again a week today and would love to be down in the 10stones !

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 22/07/2017 21:29

Thanks Xotic! Smile Funnily enough, I found it much easier to be focused and strict with myself when I had loads of weight to lose, and now it's just a few pounds more I want to shift, I wobble and make unhealthy choices all the time!

It's really hard to not fixate on diet though, I found myself getting panicky a lot when I had days where I ate loads of crap - I think I'd convinced myself that if I had a few bad days, I'd pile all the weight back on.

Good luck Ruffling! I know what you mean about weekends, I'm the same - DH and the DC are all home and I find it much harder to stick to any sort of calorie control. I think relaxing and enjoying the odd treat is a healthy attitude though, and much easier to maintain long term than depriving yourself and feeling resentful!
