Hi , being or having a thread like this that I update and feel part off really motivates me to stick to the plan . Please join in.
I have been dieting since April 10 th , I am 5 ft 1and have went from 10 stone 1 to last week 8 stone 13.
However I've had a shitty diet few days and I'm due my period so today was up to 9 stone 4 .
This is when I'm really bad at saying feck it !
However , my aim is by July 3rd to be 8 stone 7lb and go away my holiday to no doubt put some back on :)
I calorie count on MFP , I still eat crisps etc but try to keep them to low cal ones.
I am trying to increase my water and trying to get on my exercise bike but not doing brilliantly with that.
I weigh every day .
Hopefully other folk will want to join otherwise I'll just update to myself :)

2 off for me today but I'm putting it down to the fact I didn't eat yesterday apart from breakfast it will probably be back up again tomorrow. I like the sweet and sour mug shots they are good for a quick lunch and don't come in too bad for calories

Snorfig · 24/06/2017 08:39

Can I join? My scales have stalled at 8st10 for the past 7 days despite calorie counting on MFP and doing a bit of jogging. Thing is, I'm an ex-runner (not amazing but I used to do 25- 30 miles per week) so 'a bit of jogging' is never going to be enough. I also have PCOS which seems to mean I hang onto weight :(
So my only choice appears to be upping the running. Which is hard with two young kids, working nearly FT etc. I just don't have the spare energy. I'll have to find it I guess!
7lbs to lose.

FlightyMare · 24/06/2017 13:45

Right I'm deffo doing this - I refuse to do my usual trick of leaving it to the very last minute, only losing a few lbs and then watching slim women in their bikinis by the pool whilst I feel bloated and wish I'd lost weight before going away!

I've reactivated my MFP and am logging on there. I need to get better at planning beforehand what I'm going to eat though, as I just lurch from one meal to the next with no plan. I need to be more organised. I'll be hanging round here for motivation too as you all seem like seasoned professionals!

Snorfig · 24/06/2017 15:13

4 mile proper run done this morning, feel much more focused now. It's done wonders for my self esteem (though I needed a nap at lunchtime!). Aiming to do another run tomorrow, and I've stuck strictly to the allotted calories so far today, let's see if this is enough to finally nudge the scales.
Good luck this weekend everyone!

FlightyMare · 24/06/2017 19:17

Well done Snorfig - I find exercise so much easier to stick with than watching what I eat. I wear a fitbit and have done 17,000 steps so far today. Was hoping for 20,000 today so will try and get a few more in this evening.

Snorfig · 24/06/2017 19:50

Fitbit is a good idea. I may treat myself after eldest starts school in September. 17,000 is very impressive!

Xoticdreamz · 25/06/2017 13:36

Welcome new people , busy at work , still managing to do 12,000 ish steps and food intake okay .
Weigh in this morning
8 stone 11
8 days to go ! Shock

Snorfig · 25/06/2017 18:14

Friend has lent/sold me a Fitbit so I'm going to be all about the steps now. Did a run this afternoon but I hadn't drunk enough water and felt awful. 3 miles if that. I need to get my fitness back. Feeling v fed up with lack of progress.

Xoticdreamz · 25/06/2017 19:51

Oh keep going snor, I could not run to save myself but steps I can do ! Sorry you felt awful ... I try my best to drink lots of water but when I'm at work I just can't as I'm out in visits and after 3 kids my need for a pee is fairly urgent when it comes 😂
Keep going , the slowness of weightloss is the most frustrating thing . I quite like happy scale app as it breaks the loss down .
My greatest find though has been these chickpea snacks from Holland and Barrett , 88 calories but totally fill you up . Honestly they have been so important in this diet to never and I can't recommend enough .

RufflingFeathers · 25/06/2017 22:17

meant to look in H+B for the chickpeas Xotic, must remember to look next time.
I'm down again to 11 st 1.5. Going away Saturday - would really really love to lose OVER 1.5lbs before then so that I'm in the 10s - eeek,

Much better weekend than the last one - phew.
peabizzle - when you said that the weight loss would probably go back on again because you hadn't eaten very much the day before, is that actually a proper thing? don't understand enough about the mechanics of weight loss....

peabizzle · 25/06/2017 22:40

Yeah I think so because if you weigh and your stomach is empty you will weigh more after you've had something to eat won't you? I'm not sure now Hmm. I'm on -4lb now but I've really not been well so I haven't been eating for the past couple of days so that's kind of cheating!

Xoticdreamz · 26/06/2017 07:06

Morning , feeling a bit tired and unmotivated today to be honest . I would love a bacon and egg roll!
However ... 1 week to go , not sure if I will get ready rid if 4lb in a week.
Yesterday , food wise under 1000 although did have 3 gins .
Walked 18,859 steps ! I decided to walk home from work . Not that is made a difference on the scales remain at 8 stone 11.
I was also thinking has anyone got any tips for not piling loads of weight back on once on holiday ?

OP posts:
Xoticdreamz · 26/06/2017 07:07

And well done Ruffling and Pea . Hope you feel better soon Pea .

OP posts:
RufflingFeathers · 26/06/2017 08:24

Sorry you're not well Pea, that's miserable. Guess that makes sense re food. I'd heard it the other way round - that if you eat loads you get a high weight measurement, but it's not proper weight because it's not been digested etc ?

I was actually wondering the same thing Xotic - I'm keen to enjoy all sorts of foods while I'm away but also keen not to undo the work that I've done this last couple of weeks. Perhaps it's enough just to bear it in mind - i.e. do that intentional eating thing where you consciously choose to eat something rather than the semi-subconscious grazing, where you can consume vast quantities without even realising. For me, knowing that I'll still have a few pounds to lose when I get home might inspire me not to add too many on - it's definitely hard work losing it !!

Sorry you're not motivated this morning. I'm an extra 0.5lb down ( now at 11.1 target 10.10) - so I'm pretty focussed on not giving up at this point. Wore a dress yesterday that didn't fit in March, so even these few pounds have made all the difference :)

123andBreathe · 26/06/2017 09:13

Well done everyone

Here's my tips - I don't really put weight on when on holidays.

Keep your walking up, swimming if poss too. I try and only eattwice a day, avoid carbs as much as possible, drink loads of water, and quite a lot of alcohol Grin.

Down to 10.4 yesterday, same today, so I'm happy because I ate and drank quite a bit.

Xotic are the chickpeas you like the Bombay ones?

RufflingFeathers · 27/06/2017 06:31

Down to 11 (and 1/4lb) today - feeling closer. Friend asked yesterday if I'd lost weight - encouraging, shows that the 5/6lb I've lost so far is making a difference ! only 4lb to go, feeling focussed :)

Thanks for the tips 123 - it's probably helpful to go into the holiday having a positive mindset

Xoticdreamz · 27/06/2017 07:21

Brilliant ruffling and Pea 😁
Pleased for you both .
Yeah it is the Bombay ones Ruffling although I think they we be bunging me up a bit so might give them a rest for a couple of days .
Stuck to diet yesterday and the steps . Tried to drink more water as well . The last 4 days I have been on run of 4 13 hour shift so perhaps when I'm not working and get on the bike tomorrow that will help .
Weight the same 8 stone 11 but tried to be more positive that I've actually lost loads 17 lbs I think and that this is always what happens and it eventually goes if I can make sure and keep on plan .

That sign was meant to be a very smiley face .. looks more like a grimace !

peabizzle · 27/06/2017 11:52

Thankyou, I've lost about 5lbs in a week but I'm still not eating much 😩 not pregnant before anyone asks haha. I had my holiday vaccinations last week so wondering if it's a side affect of that what's making me poorly. Well done ladies your all doing great I'm very jealous of the yummy foods your having! X

RufflingFeathers · 28/06/2017 18:13

What's been wrong with you Pea ? that doesn't sound great to lose so much in a week.
I'm having a slightly off day today - well, most of the day has been fine but just enjoyed a generous portion of meatballs and chips - so tasty ! but won't help weight loss.

123andBreathe · 28/06/2017 19:10

Poor pea On the plus side, where are you going that you need vaccinations - must be somewhere nice Smile.

Ruffling, you've made me crave meatballs now naughty lady. I have Thai salmon fish cakes tonight and salad

Really fed up, have been shopping today and couldn't find any clothes I wanted. Got fitted in Bravissimo hoping my matronly bosoms had shrunk, (I am a stone lighter than last time), but they haven't. I find swimwear really difficult to buy, and ended up forking out £96 just for a tankini set Sad.

123andBreathe · 28/06/2017 19:11

Ps I lost another lb, so 10.3.

peabizzle · 28/06/2017 21:00

123 £96 is absolutely ridiculous!! Have you tried m&s or Debenhams there swimwear is pretty good and they go up to pretty big cup sizes.

Ruffling I've just had no appetite and was vomiting for the first couple of days but if I'm being honest I'm just being lazy now and not eating because I'm not hungry.... I'm having little bits of things but not enough really.

On the plus side it's only 3 weeks until I jet off to Mexico GrinGrinGrin

Snorfig · 29/06/2017 07:09

Well done all of you shifting the pounds!
I've been waiting for some success before posting but I'm totally stumped by lack of any weight loss despite upping the exercise and following a 1200 calorie allowance. I've even gained a chuffing pound.
Either I'm deluding myself, my scales are broken or it's hormonal. I do have PCOS and the mirena coil fitted so got knows what's going on internally. Just feeling mightily cheesed off and very tired all the time since the weekend. Huff.

As you were.

Xoticdreamz · 29/06/2017 11:31

Hey , it is absolutely pouring here . Winter jackets back on .
Just making a start on packing though :)
It might well have been the vaccines Pea , hope you are feeling better today .
123 , hope you find some bargains after the cost of that swimsuit.. bloody hell . Woo hoo for the weight loss !
Ruffling hope you are having a better day .. meatballs and chips sound lush . I'm really craving a curry .
Poor you Snorl, bloody frustrating when that happens , hopefully you will get a big Woosh of loss soon .

So happy today , after being stuck at 8:11 I weighed in at 8:9 today . That is 20 lb lost over 11 weeks . Not sure if I will make my 12 week target on Monday of 8:7 but fingers crossed . I have a really busy few days , meant to be going out tonight Friday and sat with drink all involved . I'm really going to have to sip very slowly which I'm not great at .
Really don't want a gain though.
