I'm 11 stone! The heaviest I've ever been and would like to be 9.5, but a more realistic goal is 10.

I've put on due to multiple rounds of IVF and being banned from exercise.

I'd like to control my portion sizes, have a few less treats (avoid stress rating) and move a bit more (maybe low impact exercise rather than previous hill running which I'm banned from).

I'll also be using my fitbit to track activity vs calories.

Anyone care to join for motivation and support?

How's everyone doing today? I'm going pretty good. Already walked to the shops and back with ds on his bike. (Do you get extra points for carrying a child's bike halfway home after he refused to cycle any more? Grin )

Will cycle to school pick up later and seem to have got my eating in a better routine.

Start weight:-11 stone
Current Weight:- 10 stone 12
Target weight by 30/07:- 10 stone 6 (wedding)
Target weight by 17/08:- 10 stone 3 (holiday)
Final Target weight :- 9 stone 12.

Hey mumoftwo, we are very similar in terms of weight and goals. I can't quite adhere to your timetable though as I've had 2 embryos transferred today as part of IVF so need to be careful not to jeopardise anything over the next few weeks while we wait to see if its work.

I'm just going to be trying to make good choices and maintain (ish) for now. Them if it doesn't work I'll be looking to lose Asap.

On the exercise front I've been told I can only 'pootle'- whatever the hell that means Confused

Keeping to under 20g carbs a day

Hello I would like to lose a stone please. I lost loads last year on mfp, but am slowly letting it sneak on again. A stone off would take me to 9st 10 which would be just about perfect.

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 30/06/2016 21:35

Hey MrsChris

Good luck with the embryo transfer! Am impressed you are even trying to maintain- I'd be on my bum on the sofa with a pack of custard creams.

I might be able to help with "pootling". I cycle to work every day wearing fitted work clothes and high heels, arrive and go straight up to the office (checking my hair for helmet head in the office lift) and pretend to be a finance professional. I definitely pootle.

Butterpuff · 01/07/2016 08:39

Good luck MrsChris I hope it works out for you. Maintenance is harder than dieting as well. I pootle by walking a bit and doing some housework. But I much prefer Mumiftwo's cycle. It sounds so stylish!!

I'm happy this morning, lost 2lb this week. That's by eating bran flakes, a salad with salsa for lunch and a small portion size dinner with lots of salad/veggies. Only fruit aloud for snacks and only two prices a day. I've not had a beer or a glass of wine all week....bet I put it all back on over the weekend by going out to dinner and having a couple of drinks.

Anyone know of any cheaper alternatives to the fitbit?

StewardsEnquiry · 01/07/2016 13:45

I've just been for a walk during my lunch hour - every little helps! I am also sticking to my calories so far today. I will make sure I post on this thread everyday - I keep starting but then going off track after a couple of days then never coming back to the thread. I promise I will keep posting even if I am eating badly!

Sal4533 · 01/07/2016 15:45

Hi,

Well weekend is here and that's when I undo my effort in the week!! Going to be very good this weekend.

B: Low carb protein shake
L: Low carb shake
Dinner will be chicken omelette
Sugar free jelly and a splash of double cream.

5k run and 3L water. Have a great weekend!

current weight : 10st 5
Target (24/07/16) : 9st 13
Goal by holiday (15/08/16): 9st 7

8FencingWire · 01/07/2016 16:41

sal, I just had a jaffa cake.
You put me to shameGrin
I'm going for a walk to get rid of the said jaffa.

Sal4533 · 01/07/2016 19:14

8fencing - It's killing me! But lost 4 stone low carbing years ago & got down to 9st - 9st7 maintained for about 18months and taken my eye off the ball and here I am at 10st 5! Got to get it off before any serious damage!
Exercise is not a problem as I am a runner & run 5-10k every other day, did a Half Marathon in March and signed up for another in Sept. Surprisingly running has done nothing for my weight loss & put weight on when I do lots!!!
The only thing that's ever worked is Cambridge & low carb.

A Jaffa cake is ok! It's when it turns into a packet it becomes a problem!! Smile

Off to pour a nice glass of water, missing my Friday bottle glass!

StewardsEnquiry · 01/07/2016 19:58

I have eaten chicken and vegetables for dinner. Had all of my calories for today so having a glass of fizzy water now.

I just tried on a dress I bought a little while ago to 'slim into'. It won't quite zip up so if I can lose this stone and fasten the dress I will be chuffed to bits!

I don't think I realised how hard maintainaace is. I need to think hard about that as I get back to my goal.

Anybody have any magic insights?

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 02/07/2016 07:58

Butterpuff I really am not stylish. It's slightly ridiculous I suspect. Grin Luckily I live in a cycling city so you have dozens of people all doing the same.....

Had a really good day for exercise yesterday. Dd had a teacher training day so I took her to the trampolining park that has just opened where we live for an hour of bouncing. After two kids my pelvic floor just about held up! Also walked two miles taking ds to nursery and back and cycled 3 miles. Kept to my food pretty well.

Down to 10 stone 11 this am. Grin

I WILL keep this up. 4 weeks today to friend's wedding......

StewardsEnquiry · 02/07/2016 08:11

Well done Mumof that's really good going.

I kept to y food yesterday too, and this morning I am down to 10st7.

Loulou0 · 02/07/2016 08:43

Mumof we have the exact same starting weight and goals 🙂

Does anyone else really struggle at the weekend..? I find myself making excuses like it's 'Saturday so that's ok'

I lost 2lb this week but I feel like I'm losing and gaining the same 2lb. Anyway, I'm determined to have a healthy weekend despite birthday party today and day out tomorrow 🙄

Have a good one everyone Smile

MalcolmFucker · 02/07/2016 10:32

Morning everyone, I will join in if you don't mind, currently 11st, want to get down to 10st (5'6")

No excuses really, just too many takeaways and not enough exercise Cake

Goingtobeawesome · 02/07/2016 10:36

I'd like to join but think I have too much to lose so I'll wish you all lots of luck!

justjuanmorebeer · 02/07/2016 10:53

I am still doing ok I think. I had two gin and slimline tonics last night and two squares of dark choc. That was my only naughtiness all week so not bad. I don't have scales at home so will be weighing myself tomorrow at a friends (I last weighed there 2 weeks ago on same scales so we will see)
I have a bbq to navigate later, should be easy enough. Won't be tempted to drink as I have to drive.

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 02/07/2016 17:34

Goingto Why don't you come and join us and lose your first stone with us. Then find some new friends for the next stone? Be great to have you. Grin

Hi Malcolm and Loulou. It's amazing how many of us have such similar weights and goals.

I find weekends hard too. Am thinking about implementing a "one pudding a week" rule but also know that if I start eating pudding again I will remember just how much I like it!

Dh decided to do a "mug cake challenge" with the kids where we all made mug cakes and then tested whose was the nicest. Managed to get away with making Dd the tester so haven't scoffed my weight in cake. But it was close......

Goingtobeawesome · 02/07/2016 17:42

Thank you Mumoftwo. I'm so stressed out I wish it made me not want to eat but sometimes I know it's because I'm comfort eating and rarely feel hungry.

whirlygirly · 02/07/2016 21:02

I'd love to join, I'm 5 ft 7, lost a stone and feel much better at 11st but need to lose another 7lbs. I find it too hard to maintain anything less although I was 9st. 12 for ages before dc1.

I also need to tone up - am finding the extra weight is now just flab and that's horrible. Am sticking to 1300 cals 6 days a week, one day of 2000 cals and at least 10000 steps a day with a couple of runs a week too.

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 02/07/2016 22:59

Going Yes it really confuses me when people say "I've been so stressed - the weight just fell off me!"

Never once has that happened to me! When I'm stressed I eat chocolate. Lots of chocolate. (And then cheer myself up about eating too much chocolate by eating chocolate.)

Hi whirly. Well done on that stone!

Grrrr - not done brilliant today. Think I used up more than I ate but only just. (I'm trying to use 500 a day more than I eat.) Too tired / lazy to do any exercise this evening. (Did a two mile walk during dd's dance lesson so a complete disaster.) Need to focus on the fact that I am still doing really well as I have a habit of being a bit "all or nothing" and then giving up.

Loulou0 · 03/07/2016 17:53

How is everyone's day going?

Mine started off well, egg on toast but day trip meant we ended up in McDonald's for lunch Blush so I'm skipping dinner.

Planning to go for a run later to meet my 13k steps goal.

We're off to CBeebies Land tomorrow so I think I'll do a packed lunch...

Minimim · 03/07/2016 18:11

Ooh can I join? I tried the low carb boot camp thing and failed miserably as I just find it too hard to cut out entire food groups (especially fruit!) so am going for a more general lower calorie/healthier and more exercise approach. Have closer to two stone to lose ideally but would be happy with one!

Today I had a one egg and spinach omelette for breakfast, lentil curry (homemade, veg heavy and no added fat) with no rice etc. for lunch, chicken breast (grilled) and green salad with lime juice as dressing for dinner. Just had a small bowl of berries too. Drinks were two black coffees and lots of water.

Also took the dog for a three hour walk but no other exercise.

8FencingWire · 03/07/2016 18:47

I will be starting the shred for beginners on Monday :
I went for a 2 h walk this afternoon, in the sun, it was bliss.
Off to do the MFP.
