I'm 11 stone! The heaviest I've ever been and would like to be 9.5, but a more realistic goal is 10.

I've put on due to multiple rounds of IVF and being banned from exercise.

I'd like to control my portion sizes, have a few less treats (avoid stress rating) and move a bit more (maybe low impact exercise rather than previous hill running which I'm banned from).

I'll also be using my fitbit to track activity vs calories.

Anyone care to join for motivation and support?

Can I join in too? I'm determined to lose my horrendous C section overhang and lose weight overall. I'm 10st 5lbs at the moment and am 5'3", ideally I'd like to get down to 9st 1lb, but to be honest anything under 10st with a much flatter tummy would do for me!

I'm on MFP too: BeautyGoesToBenidorm. It's the only thing (with my Fitbit) that seems to work for me.

justjuanmorebeer · 03/07/2016 20:20

Weighed myself today it has been two weeks since I weighed and have been trying to be 'good' all this time. I have lost 4 measley pounds. I was hoping it was more.

Stomach is looking flatter but my trousers and knickers are still cutting in a bit and leave a mark at the end of the day if you know what I mean?

Would like to lose another 6lbs in the next two weeks but I don't really know how. I am not really sure what I am doing. I am worried that I am eating too much healthy fats, is low fat the way to go for a while do you think? If I combine lots of fresh fruit and veg with protein and low fat cheeses and yoghurt will this help?

I eat a lot of things like seeds, nuts and avacados but obviously these have a lot of cals

flowerpotfairy · 03/07/2016 20:42

Would you mind if I joined? I've got 2 dc, youngest 6mths and decided to start trying to get my body back on June 1st. I have gone from 12st 4lb to 11st 3lb so i am really chuffed but need to lose one more stone to get back in my size 10s! Have been doing low carb (still have dark choc and g&t on a night!) and doing the plank challenge, as well as walking all day at work.

MrsSimonNeil · 03/07/2016 20:55

Hello all, I'd like to join too. I have about 10 lbs to lose but I'm finding it so difficult. I have a wedding to attend in 6 weeks and my outfit is slight too tight so I really need to get at least 7lbs off by then!

I've just started couch to 5k again and will try and calorie count using MFP from tomorrow.

MrsSimonNeil · 03/07/2016 20:59

juan 4 lbs in two weeks is really good! I know it's disappointing but try to stay positive. I also eat a lot of avocados and seeds, maybe try and limit them and count the calories rather than cut them out as they are really good for you.

Butterpuff · 03/07/2016 21:11

Loulou that 2lb.....I lost it last week, after dinner out yesterday, croissant fir breakfast and bbq for dinner I'm sure I will have put it back on.

beauty goes it's the c section shape I want to loose too. I'm trying to decide what excersise I need to do to put it back to normal.

Hope you all had good healthy weekends. I need to get dh to get on board and help. Dieting when he wants to treat me with pasties and puddings is difficult.

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 03/07/2016 22:39

juan I agree that 4lb in 2 weeks is a good amount. I'm aiming for 1 - 2 pounds a week. Apparently at that rate you are most likely to keep it off afterwards.

Hi to all the newbies! I'm a C-sec bod too - 6 years ago for me (ds was a VBAC) and although I don't have an overhang it does make any fat on my stomach look more pronounced somehow so I'd like to loose that.

Fairly good day today - have cycled about 10 miles in total and not eaten too much.

MrsSimonNeil · 04/07/2016 07:34

I've had 2 C sections and I agree that little apron over hang is horrid. I've always felt that it's there to stay though Hmm hopefully not though!

I've just weighed myself and I'm 10st exactly. Im 5ft 5 so I still think 10 lbs to lose is about right. I might have a smoothie for breakfast.

Have a good day all

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 04/07/2016 12:27

Looks like there's a few of us C sectioners in the same boat!

Managed to stay under 1400 calories per day over the weekend, which is something of an achievement for me, and now I'm sticking to the daily 1200. I don't mind relaxing a bit over the weekend and having 1400cals, as that means I can have a posh cookie with the DC or a small treat, and it doesn't feel like total self sabotage.

Have also discovered the joy of a spoonful of sultanas and a spoonful of crunchy peanut butter stirred into my porridge in the morning - it makes it much more filling and less boring!

QuimReaper · 04/07/2016 12:41

After a weekend off-diet I am back on it with a huge green smoothie!

I did put an apple in it which felt a bit risqué Grin

I am in two minds about whether to man up and weigh myself this afternoon or wait until Thursday afternoon when I will have had three good days (two of them fast days, one of them a "mini fast" meaning I don't stick to 500 cals but I eat the same as a fast day until dinner time, when I have salmon and veg). I am slightly intrigued about how badly my naughty weekend will have affected the scales but I'll panic if I see a huge number...

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 04/07/2016 12:47

I'm trying to weigh myself fortnightly, but it's bloody hard - I used to weigh myself every day and upset myself over normal weight fluctuations, and sometimes it is tempting to hop on the scales after a couple of good days.

I'm trying to use my clothes as a guide now - my size 14 jeans are nicely loose now, and I can get into my size 12s with minimal muffin top, so that's cheering. My real low point is my C section bulge, but it IS getting gradually smaller. I've been overweight since that pregnancy (2 years ago now), so I'm hoping that getting down to just over 9st will really make a difference. I just hope I'm not left with the dreaded skin apron once all the fat has gone!

Butterpuff · 04/07/2016 15:15

Well I'm 1.5lb up after a greedy weekend. Will weigh and record tomorrow.

Also, this is getting serious.

I'm going to start the 30 shread again.

I did a lot of Pilates before dd so will try to do some of that again too, help the core strengthen up again. That must help with the belly....and if we are going to ttc again then it's good prep work for a low pain pregnancy.

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 04/07/2016 16:14

I've never tried the 30 Day Shred, is it as traumatic as it sounds? Grin

geeup · 04/07/2016 17:49

Hi ladies you all sound lovely - I wondered if you could squeeze another person into your group please? I've been TTC for a year (unsuccessfully) and during that time the weight has crept on as I tried adding various crazy things to my diet to boost fertility and have been a bit scared of the HIT interval training I used to do incase the embryo falls out which I know is insane. Ideally I'd get back to 60kg (I'm 5'7) and am roughly 70kg which is about 11 stone I think (will weigh myself tonight). I do need to have an operation in a couple of weeks but hoping I can stay active walking etc after a couple of days. Am planning to use MFP and smaller portions and gym X 3/week. Thank you in advance!

8FencingWire · 04/07/2016 19:21

I've done day one of shred for beginners. It was fun, and it's only 20 minutes.
I used to do the normal shred, but it killed my knees.
I will go for a quick run a bit later, I had a bit of macaroni cheese for dinner :)

8FencingWire · 04/07/2016 19:23

Oh, welcome to the newbies :)
And I've updated my MFP too! gee, we've got the same targets, roughly, I don't think I'll ever be 60kg again though, would be happy with 65 :)

QuimReaper · 04/07/2016 20:34

Hello podgesters and welcome gee Grin

Had an excellent day today - had a wedding dress fitting on the other side of town and decided to try and walk there Shock In total according to MMW I racked up almost 20km, and on a fast day too!

(That is in a desperate attempt to claw back my weekend though...)

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 05/07/2016 08:04

Hi gee and welcome!

Wow - quim - 20km - that's amazing. That must be about 1000 calories!

I had a good day too yesterday - cycled more than 12 miles in total. Plus walked a mile or so to pick up the car from the garage.

Really loving this thread - every time I'm tempted to eat stuff I shouldn't I imagine having to confess on here and that stops me!

Butterpuff · 05/07/2016 08:37

I really enjoyed the shread last time, but I was a lot fitter then. It did give me days of muscle pain though!

So overall only 1lb up after the weekend. Portion sizes are going down from today. I wish I could work out how to fit in some more exercise. I used to walk a 3 mile round trip to work daily. Such a good start, now I drive for the nursery run.

Sloachie · 05/07/2016 08:48

Can I join please? I have way more than a stone to lose but doing it one at a time is less scary!!

I am at my heaviest weight ever of 13st 7lbs. I'm using a Fitbit and managing to not put any more weight on but not really taking it off!

I also need to move more - averaging about 7k steps a day so I need to up that. A bit stuffed for exercise as joint problems make most things too painful. But losing a stone would help with this too!

What's everyone's thoughts on LCHF? I've tried vaguely before but carbs are just too damned easy to eat!!!Blush

Goingtobeawesome · 05/07/2016 09:18

I'm losing the plot. I'm currently 6lbs lighter than when nine months pregnant and feel enormous and disheartened. Just had a slice of home made bread with smooth peanut butter as forgot I can't get into the kitchen for two hours and feel I'm not losing because I'm not eating often enough. I am 13 stone 8 SadSadBlushSad.

geeup · 05/07/2016 10:13

Morning ladies. So I've weighed myself and am 70.7kg (about 11 stone 2 I think) so I'm ready to start. Going for a walk or a run at 12pm and will report back - if I don't, tell me off! And am going to do a meal plan right now (although out for dinner tomorrow and Thursday so might not go too well!).
Fencingwire - are you on MFP? We could be weight loss buddies!

flowerpotfairy · 05/07/2016 10:55

Hi ladies. Ive lost 1lb since Friday. How often are you weighing yourselves? I know you shouldn't do it too often but I find it helps me keep on track.

Slo, I'm doing low carb. I miss bread the most and the convenience of a sandwich and crisps!! But I'm allowing myself the odd whole wheat wrap or pasta or brown rice. I'm not calorie counting at all. Have lost a stone in a month so far and have one more to go (which I'm sure is going to be much harder!!). Gee, I'm exactly your height and weight now so hopefully we can keep each other motivated!

geeup · 05/07/2016 11:15

Oh great flowerpot. Defo keen to keep each other in track. Well done for losing a stone already - amazing work!

QuimReaper · 05/07/2016 11:19

Slo I think low carb is an excellent place to start with any diet. Carbs are, as you say, just too easy to eat, and not allowing yourself to mindlessly consume them automatically slashes your calories (if you aren't doing the HF part, which obviously makes calories a bit meaningless). I must admit I've always known I couldn't go any significant time without carbs, but I eat low-carb Monday-Thursday - so no sweets, fruit, bread, pasta, alcohol, etc. - and I find it really helps.

The thing with going properly LCHF is that you can't really take a day off here or there because the combination of the high fat and the carbs is catastrophic, so you really have to commit. I couldn't do it for any significant period, but low-carbing in its own right makes a real difference to your diet if, like me, you want to be able to relax and have a pizza or a bowl of pasta at the weekend.
