StrawberrySnowflakes · 04/01/2007 12:38

Well today ive had weetabix, with ss milk and canderel and for luch a big naughty sandwhich from thomas the baker, so using tuna as part of red, celery and salad as free food and 10 sins for bun.
then stuffed 4 roses in my fat face just cos i like self destructing..so thats my sins gone for today!

BethAndHerBrood · 04/01/2007 12:38

Lovely! Thankyou very much, that's much better!

(also, my hideous gain isn't on here, so it's a new start!!)

BethAndHerBrood · 04/01/2007 12:40

As long as you stick to the plan for the rest of the day, you'll be fine!

Do you have your syns everyday, or do you bank them at the start of the week?

StrawberrySnowflakes · 04/01/2007 12:42

at the min ill be using them...cant go cold turkey so soon after christmas!..but ive got some hi lights bars here choc orange so they help

OP posts:
BethAndHerBrood · 04/01/2007 12:53

No, I mean do you stick to 15 a day, or do you attack 105, and when they're gone, they're gone?

I tend to start the week with 105 and count down, deducting what I use. Then when I get to 0, obviously I've used them all. For some bizarre reason it seems to work better for me that way, than adding up as I go!! Some days I use loads, other days not many. TBH, there aren't many weeks when I run out.

Just thought I'd mention it, as it seems to have helped a lot of ladies in my group were "stuck". Our consultant says sometimes looking at things from a different angle can make a big difference.

Sermon over.

StrawberrySnowflakes · 04/01/2007 12:56

hmmmmmm...someone mentioned that to me years ago and i never 'got' it but i do now from your explanation.might try that from next week as i only have 4days before next class and would want to use a weeks worth!..woul worry though that id use the lot then think ahh sod it

Hi

I'm not a mum but found your discussion searching for SW stuff. I used to be a consultant back in 1994 - 5 & of course was a member too.

If I can be of use please let me know - tho won't be much good on the new stuff (mix to match) etc.

Life story part.. back in 1993 (when I first joined) I weighed in at 14stone 10 (I am 5 foot 5 btw) - I went on to lose 5 stone in approx 18 months. I managed to keep the weight off til 1997 then met a bloke - so went back up to approx 13.5 stone. Lost weight with him (of course he was better at it than me men huh!) & got back to 10stone 10. Yo -yod back to 14stone 6 lbs by August of this year .. when the doc threatened to take me off the Pill due to blood pressure issues.

In the past 4 months I have managed to lose 2 stone through a combination of following SW at home and exercise .. just another 2 stone to go !

Anyway, hope I'm allowed to stay.

supermumintraining · 04/01/2007 15:24

wow, a nearly blank page, this is brill, not so far to scroll down now.

Martha200 · 04/01/2007 16:25

Beth; that sounds like an idea I would like to try.. maybe next time I start to overindulge!
I am just delighted to have completed 2 days back on the plan again.. I had put on half a stone in 3 weeks .
Joby, can I ask how long it took you to train as a consultant?
I went and did the shopping last night.. did a nice healthy shop and took up the mullerlight offer, 10 for 2 quid!

StrawberrySnowflakes · 04/01/2007 16:32

am going shopping tonight..what are your top buys for when youre being reeeeeeeeeeally good??

loobysmum · 04/01/2007 16:44

Hey! We've moved! JBB, Maz and Mummyjx - we can form our own virtual club! Like you say, mjx, no harsh words or looks - just support. I had the unpleasant experience of meeting someone I hadn't seen for a while today who asked how old the baby was and when I said "Nearly 2", commented "You're still carrying quite a lot of weight, aren't you?" . I'm around 13 stone and 5'9", but I used to be just under 10 stone, so I'd like to lose at least 2.5 stone. This person was an ex-colleague (now ex-friend!!) who had popped into the office. The girls I sit beside were gobsmacked when she said it too. Like I didn't know I had weight to lose - doh! And to think I lost tons when I was b-feeding .... it has fairly crept back on since I stopped!

loobysmum · 04/01/2007 16:52

Hi Martha - meant to say about the mullerlight offer -pretty good, eh? Had one as part of my lunch today, which was a brown rice salad with beetroot, sweetcorn and orange segments (a bit weird, but tasty) and Kraft low fat Italian dressing through it. Very filling and free on green. Breakfast was bread as a HEB and boiled egg with cottage cheese mixed thru' instead of mayo. Having Quorn fillets casseroled in Chicken Tonight Spanish Chicken sauce with potatoes and veg tonight. Sauce is 11 syns per jar but does several helpings! Hope this might help give you some shopping ideas Strawberry. Hello to Joby - we will probably bombard you with questions (well, I will )

mummyjx · 04/01/2007 17:22

Thought I'd better log my opinion on here too!
I have to confess I didn't even last until teatime . I have spent all bloody day cooking and preparing vegetables/fruit and washing up, only for dh (on one of his rare appearances at home) to collect ds1 from school with a friend who was staying for tea and wanted pizza. There will be no pizza-eating in this house that I am not part of, and of course I had not prepared freshly made SW ones as I have been making stew and soup etc. I put a platter of raw vegetables and dip on for them to have while the pizza was cooking and they looked at me like I was mad. Not to mention finding ds1 laid face down under the rabbit hutch in his school uniform in all the dirt while he caught the Monty Python bunny rabbit...
What a day . There's always a tomorrow...

Mazzle · 04/01/2007 18:29

I can't believe what that ex friend said to you loobysmum. That's so rude!
I felt really faint earlier when I was out in town. Had to hold on to the buggy. Maybe I'm not eating enough? Had a jacket with a whole tin of beans for lunch before I went out but my body has been used to loads of snacks/sugar/fat since the baby was born so maybe it's in shock!

How much do you want to lose JJB and mummyjx? I want to lose about 3 stone. Do you want to have a weekly weigh in day? I started on Monday so we could do mondays? You don't have to say how much you weigh if you don't want to, just loss/gain/whatever.

Have a good evening,

Maz xxx

Hi again. Mondays is good for me if you like, though my sister says she weighs in on Friday then she has a full week to get over any weekend blips. My blips can be any time between 9.30pm-12.30am when dh gets in from work - any day, I feel I should be sociable have a snack/drink or two to go over his day...
I would be happy losing 4 stone minimum, but due to the PG-ness so long as I don't put on excessive amounts I suppose I should be happy with whatever happens. My Dr. said his wife lost more weight while PG than not. Thing is, I haven't been less than a size 18 since I was about 17 and I'm ONLY a 22-24 now, so it's not a size thing, it's all down to this BMI nonsense. (I'm 5ft 10in and of large bone stock - if I ever lose too much weight my hip bones will stick out like wing mirrors!)
Hope there were some good offers on cakes & biscuits

I'm sorry, I have no life. Kids asleep early, dh at home for once and I can't cope with life like this - kids never go 2 sleep, dh should be at work. I have free time and SOD ALL to do (except the ironing, dirty kitchen floor...)! Have just been on the "my journey" thingy on the SW website and have actually LOST 2lb since I last logged on in Nov! B-H. Wish I'd tried harder...
Password is "roast" (needed to transfer it on to here so I can remember). The special fried rice in the student feature looks good for the weekend.
Hi Shosha - wot u wat 2 know? Everyone on here is faband will help if they can.

fireflyxmasfairylights2 · 04/01/2007 22:09

Hi!!

Back to basics eh!!

I had 4lb on altogether over xmas. 1.5lb the first week of the hols & 2.5lb the second week!! The consultant didn't even discuss losses or gains last night. She said we would treat it like it was everyones first night & just go over the plan again & give us the task of keeping the food diaries for the next 4 weeks. Are any of you planning on doing the sponsered slim for NSPCC?

Oh for any of you who don't know it, the password is ROAST.

Welcome Joby & any new members

Thanks Maz - I WAS a bit taken aback! Still, I'm going to try to use it as an incentive. Every time I feel the urge for a cake/fry-up/gallon of wine, I'll remember that and hopefully it'll keep me on the straight and narrow . Mondays would be fine for a weigh-in. I have a dance class that night (my one night out per week!!) but I'm back by about 10-ish and can log on then. By the way, if you're a green fan, you can fuel up on carbs which should help to avoid feeling faint. Hope you're OK now. mummyjx, you sound a bit fed up. I laughed at the sound of ds1's antics but it probably wasn't funny at the time! When is No. 3 due? Strawberry, how did the shopping go? Hope you managed to avoid the cake aisle!

mummyjx · 04/01/2007 22:32

shosha - I make a big fruit salad (melon, pineapple, kiwi, apple, pear, grapes & orange etc - not banana as it makes it go off quicker, and I sometimes add strawberries for a treat to my bowl just before eating for supper etc - in a little candarel with soda water) at the beginning of the week and I have a huge bowlful with a little bit of squirty cream for breakfast, it usually lasts a few days in fridge. I did try making a Dr Gillian type brown rice pudding with rice milk last year when I was supposed to be trying hard. It wasn't too bad for green days and the rice milk could be a HEA so was virtually free. If all else fails I just have 1 weetabix and syn it so I can have 2 nice HEB's, but I don't really like using my syns before teatime! I had ham & mushroom omelette today for original. On a green day when I can be bothered I do fried potato cubes, fried egg and beans.

Am sorry, AM fed up. It is January (perhaps I should get a light box?). DH has been working flat out since before xmas and has 31/2 weeks holiday to fit in before April and I just know it won't happen. My M&D have just gone to NZ for 2 months so that's my social life up the spout. I suppose it was funny when DS1 was catching the killer bunny - damned evil animal. DS2 has his 3rd b'day on Mon, can't believe he's not a baby now - we are going to a "family pub" for a meal so that will be another bad day to add to the list, unless I overdo it in the ball pool. no3 is due in the summer - have scan on Mon, so might know more then!

Will be cheerier tomorrow - promise!

loobysmum · 04/01/2007 23:04

Me again! Mummyjx, no wonder you feel a bit down. I have a dp who doesn't take his hols either and one dd who will be 2 on 31st Jan and is getting VERY tantrumy! My mum isn't available to babysit very often (she has a more active social life than me!) and I don't like to impose on my friends, so I'm in most of the time at the moment too, (as well as not taking his hols dp also works late most nights!). I can sympathise with you. You go out for that pub meal and enjoy it! You can compensate for it or save up syns for it or whatever. Shosha, beans on toast on green is a quick and filling breakfast, or boil a couple of eggs the night before, if you really want to save time in the morning, then just have them on toast or in a sandwich. Am going to make that fruit salad, mjx - it sounds lovely.
