Wow - this thread's going like lightning! Hi everyone. Going to try to get to class tomorrow but the timing is tricky so may not. I'll weigh myself for our "virtual" class tho' Maz! Should be online about 10pm. I went to the GYM today!!! Friend who is a member gave me a free pass for a week. Haven't been to the gym since I was pg with dd - over two years now!! Re snack suggestions, I have just made brown rice with Kraft Light Italian Dressing through it and celery, green beans, orange segments, red onion through it as well. Hi to all the new people. Firefly, gonna try your dh's chop suey - it sounds lovely.

Rooicosta · 07/01/2007 19:19

Hi everyone - great new thread with loads of new names! Hope everyone had a good xmas & New Year!

Joining a club as of tomorrow with my mum. We've decided not to go it alone (I was cheating far too much!) and get more support and motivation by joining a club. Really, it's more to do with the fact that we have to do it when we're being weighed by someone else!!!

I dread to think what I've put on over the festive period but I reckon somewhere between 5 and 6 pounds! Dreading getting on SW scales though as it's evening and fully clothed (I'm used to weighing myself first thing in just my underwear!) so that's going to put a couple of pounds on to start! Ha!

Good luck everyone and I'll let you know how I get on tomorrow!

fireflyfairy2 · 07/01/2007 21:28

Hi Rooicosta, Welcome back!!

Where's Ledodgy? Haven't seen her around much today! And Sally?

Hello i've just come on the computer but nice to know I was missed. I had a SW fry up this morning and it was lovely have also just been on an hours brisk walk with my friend so I think a small vodka is in order in a few mins. I'm planning on making the cauliflour and chickpea curry recipe that's in the new SW mag tommorrow so will let you know how it goes howveer it might not happen as my 13 month old ds is soooooo clingy atm and screams every time I leave the room.
Dp also pissed me off earlier we were going to his mum's for tea so I asked him if he could ring her and ask what we were having in case I needed to bring anything as if she was doing a roast I like to bring mushy peas to have instead of gravy. He said "Do you have to be so awkward? Can't you just have the same as everyone else?" GRRRR It really pissed me off, this time last year I couldn't leave the house without having a panic attack and I was 3 stone heavier and now I go out every day and am getting slimmer so you think a "well done you're doing great" would be nice now and again!

fireflyfairy2 · 07/01/2007 22:15

Well done ledodgy you're doing great!!!!! I can totally understand the confidence thing! Even my neighbour commented that I am walking taller & I have just lost 18lb!! Not 3 stone!!! Excellent!! Let me know what the curry was like as it didn't appeal to me... I have a 2yr old going through a clingy phase too, so tomorrow back at the c/minder should be fun

Sally, don't change your name for me babe!! I am just easily confused!

fireflyfairy2 · 07/01/2007 22:16

Oops

Strawberry not sally I'll take my foot out me mouth now

hollyg · 08/01/2007 09:08

Morning Girls,

Had quite a good weekend SW-wise. Last night made cod (HC-B) with breadcrumbs and sw chips and peas- really nice - got it from that book that was in this months SW mag.
Been having Oatso simple for breakfast each morning and they are really good-fill you up until lunch.
First (this time around)weigh in tomorrow der der der!!!
Its been a week and normally i dont have the greatest willpower but i know ill do it this time.
Helped when i saw a wedding video on Friday night of me as bridesmaid for BF see below- all i saw was backfat everywhere!!! my fiance paul looked big as well and he's not but he said we looked like the widest couple there.Felt sick- i need to do it this time -can't be like that for my wedding-no chance
Have a good week everyone
x

Budababe · 08/01/2007 09:19

Aargh!!!

Weighed myself and am 104.8 kilos or 16st 6.5 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would like to be 10.5 stone so that is 6 stone to get shifted.

Questions - already! - Am out for sushi lunch with friends today - I know it is relatively healthy but if I am on a green day do I just count the fish as a HE?

Am a bit confused about the whole SW "thing" - not sure if I understand it completely TBH. And am in Budapest so can't get to a meeting. How many HE can you have in a day?

hollyg · 08/01/2007 09:54

Morning Budababe,

You can have 1 or 2 HE on A and 2 on B.
re sushi -this is something i wanted to know too, i love sushi.
my understanding was that on a greed day a maki roll is 1 syn- i would go on a green day and count the fish as your HE.
Does anyone know about the rest of sushi- like miso soup etc
Have some edaname beans budababe-they are lovely and free!
have you been to a class before??
x

Budababe · 08/01/2007 10:18

Hi Hollyg - no never been to a class so am somewhat in the dark. I have joined SW on-line but to be honest although the website looks great I can't find the actual rules! May e-mail them.

The sushi lunch is at a friend's house - we order in, swap magazines and chat and stuff ourselves with sushi!

I have had two slices of what the Hungarians call "Wellness" bread - heavy brown bread with lots of seeds in - and a banana for b'fast. Am drinking herbal tea and water. Am planning a green dinner depending on whether DH is home or not. So am hoping the sushi won't hurt too much. Will avoid the usual cake for dessert!

Thanks for reply!

fireflyfairy2 · 08/01/2007 10:25

What all is in Sushi?

As most fish is free on a Red/ Oroginal day.

Squid ~ Free
Swordfish ~ Free
Bass ~ Free
Cod ~ Free
Crab ~ Free
Conger Eel ~ Free
Crayfish ~ Free

Above are all free raw.. sushi is raw right? Can you tell I have never eaten it in my life so have no idea what's in it... if you have a list then I can look in my tesco book for you if you like?

Budababe · 08/01/2007 10:27

Hi - sushi is fish/veg wrapped in rice. Good idea about looking it up - will try the website and try and get value for my money!!!!!

Thanks!

fireflyfairy2 · 08/01/2007 10:28

Also prawns are free & in my Tesco book it says "Seafood Selection" Mussels, prawns & squid ~ Free.

HTH

fireflyfairy2 · 08/01/2007 10:30

Well, rice is free on a green day but not on a red day... can you have a mix 2 max day? That's where you go for Original for b'fast, Green for lunch, & original again for dinner... (or swap them about)

Budababe · 08/01/2007 10:34

Website no help!

Have had a "green" b/fast. Planning a "green" dinner too so thought the fish could be my HE. It isn't a lot of fish and it is raw so no fat involved.

Thanks for help!

hollyg · 08/01/2007 11:15

Not all sushi is raw in the restaurants. i know the ingredients themselves should be pretty free either veggy sushi, rice and cucumber etc in roll or fish as HE on green but just wondered if all together with type of vinegar etc what the syn value was.

I thought a maki roll was 1 syn as ive got a celebrity SW recipe book and they made them (a veggy one) and counted it as a syn on green, i dont go the classes anymore myself but if i did i'd see if the consultant could help.

StrawberrySnowflakes · 08/01/2007 12:47

hiya girls LOL fireflyfairy2!

well according to my scales this morn id lost a 1lb but byt at sw it was just 1/2 but hey...it was 1/2lb off, i really thought id put more on again!
refrained from buying my usualy monday morning treat off jaffa cakes, ate a hi light bar fr brekky, then jsut had plain egg omlette in two small slices of whoelgrain bread, no butter, used frylight..and gave the girls the same, they loved it and so did i . did manage to find and scoff a tiny 'treat' sized bag of dd's choc buttons! and 3 little choc santas(can you tell its almost time of month!), but am quite positve and may even have a go on the excersize bike tonight!...walked for 1 1/2 this morn with mindees round park and up to aldi, so the excersize will help a lot!

Afternoon all. Wow there's a lot to read when you can only log on at work M-F.

I'm 5' 5" and 12.10. size 14-16 want to be 10.10 to be a BMI of 25 so 2 stone to go - my aim is to lose it by June this year.

I snack on Baby beetroot - they're free & really sweet.

Don't forget you can have tinned fruit too as long as its in its own juice & whole (well not mashed up ).

You were right earlier the reason you cannot juice/smoothie your fruit is because you could eat substantially more than if it was whole... just imagine how many bananas you could consume in a day if you put them in a smoothie!!

Remember eveyone that even a pound a week (loss) adds up to 4 stone in a year - so never be discouragd with "just a pound"!

MY fave food on SW is SW chips & quorn chilli... just doesn't feel like you are slimming at all.

fireflyfairy2 · 08/01/2007 13:24

Budababe I will ask my consultant on wednesday about Sushi. I know it's no use to you now, but will be good for the future

Strawberry Well done!!!!!!! All those 1/2lbs add up! & think how down you would be if it was 1.2lb gained!!

I have just had a tin of ravioli for tea as I can't be bothered doing much when it's just me..the kids are back @ school & C/minder as I'm trying to get some Uni stuff done... well I have an essay due in at 2pm so am just printing that off whilst on here
