OP posts:
Catalepticdru · 05/01/2007 21:31

Coz it stands for synergy apparently...

USed to be a SW member, lost over 2 and half stone, then put half of it back on and failed to get back off....

ledodgy · 05/01/2007 21:32

Ahh thank you that's been keeping me awake at night! Are you going to join again Catalepticdru?

mummyjx · 05/01/2007 21:53

It's just the jacket potato aspect I don't like. Prefer mash (made only with h/e milk) or SW chips. Thing is, when I was still a child (aww) in early '90s my mum discovered Rosemary Conley , so we used to eat JPs, also SW chips (but by the name of Rosemary Conley chips! so I have always cooked roast potatoes the same way and made mash with no butter - I am fat because I like pizza, chinese, chocolate, crisps, white buttered toast, beer and wine, and some other stuff too - in rebellion to my RC upbringing!) Sorry, I should not have mentioned that food .
Does anyone know the syn value of a TEASPOON of cooking oil? (not olive oil) can only find tablespoon and am not clever enough to work out how many teaspoons that is (and will not ask DHchef as he thinks I'm mad most of the time anyway with my bizarre cooking queries).
Shall I post my weight/height ratio? Or shall I just say that my BMI is dismal?

mummyjx · 05/01/2007 21:58

Also (sorry to be a bore), has anyone done pilates? Did my new pilates for pregnancy dvd earlier and don't really feel like I've done anything. I know it will be gentler exercise due to the PGissue, but still feel I might have missed something/done it wrong.
Have walking planned for the weekend so that should do some good. DS1 is at a party at the sports centre tomorrow - it is at the other end of the place we live at the top of a bloody big hill. Can't decide whether to take the car or walk with the buggy and arrive considerably worser for wear than all the other mums. Also, will have to go twice...?(DH can take him to tennis lessons in the car in the morning - they are too early to contemplate walking!)

fireflyxmasfairylights2 · 05/01/2007 22:16

I am 4ft 11" and was 11stone 12lb. Now weigh 10stone 11lb. (was 10 7lb but gained 4 over the festive season)

fireflyxmasfairylights2 · 05/01/2007 22:17

Hi mooshy, the PW is roast

ledodgy · 05/01/2007 22:18

actually just realsied my starting weight was 16 stone 4 1/2 not 16 stone 4.

Surfermum · 05/01/2007 22:19

I sat there trying to memorize it last night mooshy (and have clearly failed) as I thought "someone on mumsnet will ask what it is".

My consultant told they don't recommend saving up syns and binging on them. That was after I'd been on a mumsnet meet up and stopped counting how many syns I'd had at 80 . And I didn't count what I ate that was just alcohol .

mooshy · 05/01/2007 22:20

Thanks for that. Will have to log on and add the 6 pounds i gained over Christmas

ledodgy · 05/01/2007 22:20

My consultant is all for flexible syns and it's worked for me so far so i say go for it.

fireflyfairy2 · 05/01/2007 22:21

The first time I went to join a slimming class I was 10stone 4lb & the woman in the shop asked me when I was due, I ran from the shop in tears. That was January 1999. By July 1999 I was 8stone 2lb & the lady in the shop asked my MIL wether I had a girl or a boy!!! So now I weigh 10 11 I am avoiding the shop again incase she reckons this time I am having twins

ledodgy · 05/01/2007 22:22

Pmsl!

mooshy · 05/01/2007 22:34

Any ideas for SW lunch as have decided to go for it tomorrow but working a long day.I seem to remember eating lots of noodles last time but want to avoid salt as blood pressure is up a little. What can i take that quick to prepare and cheapish ???????

mooshy · 05/01/2007 22:49

Is everyone watching BB

fireflyfairy2 · 05/01/2007 22:53

I have pulses steeping in a bowl to make soup with tomorrow, that's not much use to you though is it!?

Have you a microwave at work?

A toaster?

How about make some pasta now, chop a tomato, cucumber, herns etc in & have a nice tasty lunch tomorrow!

Have you heard of mugshots? They are free on green (well most of the noodle ones)

mooshy · 05/01/2007 23:09

Thanks fff.
I`ll make some pasta and think i can find something to have with it.
Quite looking forward to it really

mummyjx · 05/01/2007 23:13

Hi mooshy - how about rice salad? (make at home and take, or pasta salad with chopped onion, peppers, sweetcorn etc, pasta (obviously) and s/w tuna in dressing sachet)? Do you have m/wave or anything at work?
Not watching BB, my life sad enough already .
Right then, truth time ... I joined S/W 2 years ago just before DS2 was 1. I was over 17st (F*K) then, but was 5ft10 (I lasted about 6 weeks, with 2 different consultants, one left and the other didn't understand about DS1s football matches in the cold resulting in eating buttery toast). According to my midwife I am now 5ft8.5, but as she was a good foot shorter than me and probably couldn't see the measurer properly I maintain I am still 5ft10. I am now 16st5.5lb (its all tits'n'ass too), though I have been up and down between about 17st2 & 16st (and mentally too) for 2 years. After PG I would be happy to get down to 13st, I would like to be a size 18/20 again and wear some of my nice clothes I am keeping for such an occasion, for now I just don't want to turn into something resembling an overgrown baby elephant. Am v concerned about my chest

ledodgy · 05/01/2007 23:14

I've jsut got peckish i have slimming world chips in the oven but only had 3 small potatoes left so intend to have them with mushy peas.
I don't know why i'm so hungry today i've had:

bran flakes
beans on toast
then boiled rice with curry sauce
apple
banana
2 cans of stella
mind you I did go on a long walk!

fireflyfairy2 · 05/01/2007 23:17

Jesus MJZ< wether it was your intention to or not you made me ROFL @ the thought of the MW telling you you were shorter than what you are!!!!!!!!!!!!! pmsl!!!!

FWIW I totally understand the football matches meaning you need to eat warm buttery toast, especially with organic irish butter, and thick bitty marmalade.... and a lovely warm cup of strong tea
Just like my need if we go on a drive on a Sunday to have a bag of prawn cocktail crisps, a twix and a can of diet coke... just 'cos I have been doing it since I was about 12. Then we used to go for a drive on a Sunday... & even when I met dh he bought me the same on a Sunday... a really bad habit that has continued for far too many years now

mummyjx · 05/01/2007 23:24

Wish I'd had 2 cans stella! I also have S/W chips in oven, but typically bcos I'm cooking them for DHchef also I've buggered it up and they're a bit mushy. Brown sauce...mmm. Tho he's not home yet - could eat them all and he can have a sandwich!

ledodgy · 05/01/2007 23:27

mmm just had my chips and mushy peas they were lovely now feel less tiddly so am going to have a thrid can of stella lol. it still means i've only had 45 syns so far this week and doubt i'll ahve many more.
