MFP to lose weight

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 18:31

Hello! I'm starting this thread to make myself accountable and as motivation. I've been using MFP for 16 days now and have lost 6lbs, really enjoying it and finding it so easy to use. I'll be posting weigh ins as and when as I am a frequent weigher! Hopefully the loses will continue Grin I started in Janaury as 14 stone 11lbs Shock but I've become complacent

Starting weight - 14 stone 11lbs
Current weight - 12 stone 5lbs
Goal weight - Currently 10 stone 11lbs but I think that I will aim lower once I reach that

On 1,450 a day with an active lifestyle. Would be great to see other peoples loses and experiences with MFP, annoyed I didn't start it sooner!

I'll join you from Monday. I've a holiday booked in July and am 11st 9lbs at 5 ft 6". I'd like to get to 10 St 7lbs in 8 weeks.

I plan to exercise and MFP (lost 18 lbs but then was really unwell and all exercise had to stop and weight piled on again). Check in with you on Monday and well done to you so far!

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 21:16

Thanks Eliza! A holiday is a great incentive, I have my boyfriends birthday party in the middle of August so aiming for then to reach goal or lower. I find the weekends the hardest time really because he loves his food, eats loads and is very slim Hmm I think when we moved in together was when I put on most of my excess weight!

Great loss so far Smile

I started 12 days ago and have lost 7lb. I'm logging religiously obsessively but it seems to be doing the trick.

I have a fairly inactive lifestyle but manage a bit of exercise that gives me a few extra cals on MFP but I try and avoid using these.

My target is 8.5 (I'm short) so 1 stone 8lb to go. Would love to get there by end August.

I'll weigh on Monday.

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 22:19

I'll weigh on Monday as well to kick things off Smile It is really easy to get addicted to it, I can't stop logging on!

Well done on your loss so far!!

I have been using mfp for 3 months and have lost 24lbs so far. I started at 12stone8 and now am at 10stone12. I have found mfp great too!

Good luck on your journey!

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 22:48

Thank you flanjabelle Smile

Good too see others great loses using MFP Smile you've all done really well so it's quite inspiring. It's also made me quite aware that a fair chunk of my calories are being used up on snack type things, so from tomorrow I'm going to focus on cutting this back and sticking too three filling, healthy meals. The challenge is always 11am and 3pm when I'm at work!

I've been using mfp for nearly 3 weeks & have lost 8 1/2 lbs! I've just had a baby 14 weeks ago & my staring weight was 13st 11, aiming to get to 10st but no rush. Going on holiday in 10 weeks & would like to lose another stone at least before then. Will post tomorrow with my weigh in too Smile

MaryFlynn · 31/05/2015 17:02

I will join in from tomorrow too. I am doing Dry June and trying to eat "clean" and unprocessed as well as monitoring the calories with MFP.
I will post my starting weight tomorrow.
In this for the long haul, but my first target is feeling good on the beach in August. Smile

Eliza22 · 31/05/2015 17:19

Wow! Some impressive MFP weight losses here! Well done all. I have a meal out this evening but come tomorrow....there will be changes. I've weighed in at 11st 8lbs so, if I can lose a stone in the 8 weeks to my hols plus tine up with some gym, I'll be happy. Am going to cut right back on alcohol and portion sizes initially, and up the fruit and veg.

See you tomorrow.

CaptainAnkles · 31/05/2015 17:43

I've restarted using mfp after eating like a pig for several weeks. I don't have any scales so I don't know my starting weight though. I'm hoping I'll just look and feel better if I stick to under 1600 cals Hmm

Eliza22 · 31/05/2015 17:56

Umm, why does MFP only allow you 1200 calls per day even when you're adding in an hour's exercise? Is that the amount to lose weight even without exercising? Last time I did it, I was also doing C25K and a half hour cycle each day. But still, it only loaded 1200 cals.

CaptainAnkles · 31/05/2015 18:15

You can change your daily allowance in the settings

pinkr · 31/05/2015 20:45

I started on the 14th March...I'm 5.7 and I was in the region of 12st 8. I'm currently about 11st 6 but my target is around 10st 3!

ChocolateBiscuitCake · 31/05/2015 21:10

I'll join you all starting in the morning...

Currently 11st12, post dc4 who is 7weeks old. Desperate to fit into non maternity clothes and look a little less flabby over the summer. Aiming for 9.5 stone (am 5'4").

Mfp is currently downloading on my phone!

So Monday morning weigh in.

My combined 2 week loss is 7lb - I'm thrilled!

I've had two nights out (one restaurant, one dinner at friends - so little control over food) and four lunches out where limited choice (plus a night on the sofa with a hug bag of sweets Blush ) but other than that I've been super strict.

It's interesting to see where the calories come from - I always thought I was pretty clued up but there are still surprises and also logging everything makes you realize that the bread and olive oil might be delicious but is it really 400 cal of deliciousness?

MaryFlynn · 01/06/2015 06:35

Well done! 7 lb in 2 weeks is amazing! I hope that I can achieve the same.
Ok - Starting weight today 13 stone 13 lb Blush The new me starts here.

Emz449 · 01/06/2015 07:47

Congratulations, that's amazing, Brand new well and month and my starting weight is 12 stone 5lbs. I suspect the couple of drinks that I had on Saturday maybe why the scales haven't moved! But fingers crossed for a good lost this week Smile

Am all signed up and good to go!

OneOfTheThree · 01/06/2015 13:30

Can I join you all? I've lost 15lb on MFP in six weeks (been doing 30 day shred as well) and hoping to lose another stone before my holiday in August.

My starting weight was 14st 12lb, current weight 13st 11lb, height 5ft 6.

I've talked about losing weight for years but am actually feeling motivated this time for some reason. Finding MFP great and it's been such an eye opener of what calories are in things. I used to have a bowl of lettuce for a snack (I LOVE lettuce) but would make an extra virgin olive oil dressing, which I hadn't realised was making my healthy snack into hundreds of calories!

Well done on all the weight losses so far!

Emz449 · 01/06/2015 15:00

Of course OneOfTheThree, the more the merrier, great loss so far too Smile

I've just ordered a spiralizer to make corgetti and other veg spaghetti, it was only 2.99 off eBay and is like a pencil sharpener, hopefully it's good!

OP posts:
MixedMessages · 01/06/2015 15:41

I recently bought a spiraliser - courgetti is surprisingly tasty and a bowl full even with pesto and Parmesan is still far lower than a "normal" meal.

MyCatIsAGit · 01/06/2015 15:45

Can I join too? I only signed up at the weekend - probably a bad weekend to choose as dinner out with friends, husband's birthday (pub and takeout) and friend's BBQ.

It's really opened my eyes to how many calories in beer and nan bread! And its motivating me to go out in the gales to Pilates.

Also did 10 mile cycle ride (with hills) and a 10 mile hill walk...

I was 12 st 7 this morning (!) and I'm 5' 7". Aiming for a stone off.

Emz449 · 01/06/2015 17:44

Yes I'm looking forward to trying it, I've tried to do corgetti with a knife and it didn't really work ha.

Of course Mycatisagit! This week isn't going to be the best for me either, dinner out on Weds and Friday, ones a burger place and the others Mexican! But will check the menus out and try and make the best choices I can Smile

I went to the gym today and earned myself 248 extra calories to add to my 12. I had a small piece of baked salmon for tea and was amazed how calorific it was (unless I'm reading it wrongly).

The actual site (MFP) has changed its format since I last did it, so it took me a bit of getting used to. I'm found it easier before but, will go back tomorrow!
