I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

Yes! Just had it confirmed that we will be getting married in May, the date we set in August and then thought we wouldn't be able to do for medical reasons. Now back to plan A apart from the fact that I have gained 10lbs (mainly over Xmas) so don't know if I can get in my dress.
I'm 5'4" and weighed 10st12 this morning. I'm aiming for 9st11 but haven't been below 10st for 10yrs and even then getting below 10st was a major challenge which involved me feeling very hungry & being very grumpy, something I'm not sure is possible to manage with 2 DC.
How are you planning on doing it? I started MFP yesterday and am planning on starting some exercise next week.

GingerSkin · 29/12/2014 20:48

I'll join you both. I'm getting married in the summer too. I slimmed down last summer to a size 10 and have put half the weight back on again mainly this month

I'm 5'10 and about 10s 8lb. With being tall I carry the weight off so people say I'm slim, but I know what my belly looks like Grin and want it slim for the summer and our honeymoon. Aim is 9s 10lb.

I'd like to get back in to paleo which I did in the summer. Found it easy in the end but struggled to exercise on it. Need to find a balance as I like to exercise.

I'm getting married in August and I'd love an additional two stone loss by then! Already lost one and a half but really just need to step it up in the new year!

Mostlyjustaluker · 29/12/2014 21:02

This was me two years ago and I ended up having to lose weight at the last minute! Remember you will need to lose the weight before you buy your dress and stay the same weight after your last dress fitting.

GingerSkin · 29/12/2014 21:12

I've brought my dressing already [eek emotion] it was 2nd hand from a charity shop but it a bhs one. Simple and plain yet flattering. Only problem is, if I sit down, my belly scrunched up! I know if I lose the belly, it'll fit better.

GingerSkin · 29/12/2014 21:12

*scrunches not scrunched

FreakinScaryCaaw · 30/12/2014 19:29

Glad it's not just me Smile

Congratulations everyone. I'm sure we can all do it? hopeful

I'm planning on cutting down cals/fat and doing more dance and walking. I do salsa jive which burns lots of calories.

I've been pretty good today and avoided crisps. They're my downfall. You can keep chocolate it doesn't bother me.

Getting married in may, need to lose 10lb to a stone. Am signed up for a half marathon at the end of April so.the training for that will do it!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 30/12/2014 19:51

5madthings, I'd say it will!

I have drawn up a trainjng plan, running four times a week. When I run regularly I lose the annoying 10lb, then something happens, kids get I'll, life gets in the way and I stop running and it gradually creeps back on. I am crap at being consistent with my running so signing up for a run like this motivates me. My sister is running it as well so we can nag each other!

GingerSkin · 31/12/2014 05:37

5madthings you sound organised!

I'm the same with exercise, if I do it, I will lose the extra 10lb so I just need to be disciplined. I think we may have been on a weight loss before holiday thread last year? Just writing out what we were eating. Can't remember my NN now, have changed as someone outed me!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 31/12/2014 16:38

Well done for being so disciplined 5madthings.

I saw a Jillian Michaels new dvd in the supermarket today. It's a 6 minute workout. I'm sure I could fit that in? Wink

Not sure I've got off to the best start as, to deal with hangover & Christmas food leftovers, I had a chocolate orange for lunch & have just eaten half a tub of salted caramel Häagen Daas

FluffyRedSocks · 01/01/2015 21:59

Yes! Me!
Wedding in November, 5'5, 11.6 stone-ish before Christmas and a wedding dress which is so small il have to have a corset put in it anyway, so not the end of the world!

Myfitnesspal is great, happy to add people as friends, means you can see how well others are doing and comment, slightly like fb, pm me for the name as it involves my actual name!

I've got two dc under 2, so no idea how il find time to exercise?!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 01/01/2015 23:09

That sounds like a healthy diet dancingwitch Grin Ice cream sounds lush!

I tried MFP Fluffy but wasn't for me. I work long shifts and kept forgetting about it.

There was a huge buffet put on at work today Blush Luckily I don't like cake but there was still plenty to tempt me.

But I'll be good tomorrow. I don't have any choice if I want this weight to come off.

Good luck everyone.

Yup me!

Almost done my first day today.

Well I did eat my thorntons choc in the cafe, but I did count it in on Mfp. Normally another six would have followed it.

I'm doing 1200 cals so that should give me 1 pound a week.

Trouble is wedding not till sept so I have time to lose it and find it again.

Argh! Supposedly looking for a dress in feb so if that doesn't motivate me nothing will.

MsVanRein · 02/01/2015 01:37

Me!

Place marking so I can find you tomorrow but wedding in July so I would like to lose 1-2 stone. Dress ordered but not been adjusted for me yet.

dietstartsmonday · 02/01/2015 02:40

me too. wedding is June.
would like to lose 1.5 stone.
am considering doing 90 day sss by the body coach. anyone seen this? my mate did it results were fab and she just eats so much better. but looks very hard work...

BastardGoDarkly · 02/01/2015 02:51

Yep, mine's fast approaching, in March, and I've got a belly a darts player would be proud of.

Doing dry January, exercise, and eating well, I'm not buying a dress until I've lost weight!

Dowser · 02/01/2015 12:17

One Bgd there's loads of dresses so I wouldn't worry about that.

If you're not fussy about second hand and I'm not there's some great bargains to be had on preloved.

Some BNWT where bride changed her mind, got pregnant or got jilted!

Dowser · 02/01/2015 12:36

Just had a look now. There's some gorgeous ones . Brand new at bargain prices.

I'm thinking of getting a size 16 and having it taken in or not as the case may be.

I always remember Janet street porter saying that when she buys from the high st she buys a bigger size and then has it adjusted to fit. Interesting comment I thought.

Especially for a special occasion dress, as I don't have jsp money or occasions to wear special clothes .

Missqwerty · 02/01/2015 12:45

I'm getting married in august and I weigh roughly 11 stone. I want to lose 2 stone as I already have my dress and it fits but its a corset back so fits size 8- small 12. Well it fit when I was 10 lb lighter before Christmas so it should be ok!

I'm joining the gym and aiming to lose a lb a week. Want to feel comfortable on my honeymoon so here's hoping I can shift the Buddha belly and thunder thighs!

Good luck everybody :)

BastardGoDarkly · 02/01/2015 13:41

SoonToBeMrsB · 02/01/2015 14:40

I'm getting married in June 2016 but I have a big 5* beach holiday in August this year that I want to shift a load of weight for. I've also bought my dress (a vintage style one from a boutique in New Orleans, had it shipped over last month) but I bought it in a US size 8, which I believe is a 12 here, though the reviews say that it's small-made. I'm currently a 16 with 4st to shift so I'm just hoping that I can squeeze myself into it and look decent on the day!
