Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

Did anyone watch tonight's programme on Channel 4 that's just finished? It's called Food unwrapped. I'd forgotten all about creamed soup being the dieter's friend. Watch it if you can it's amazing. Beetroot is a revelation too. I grow it in our allotment and will be growing a lot more now.

Creamed soup shopping and making this week.

Oooh what's Magic in creamed soup?!

Fairly good day for me. Had a celebration choc and a small handful of mini marshmallows but went to the gym for the first time in ages so I'm actually under my calorie allowance by 200. Will save them up for the weekend Wink

So I did C25k wk1 today. Not too difficult. And I went for a walk around the shops today - got lots of wedding bargains, so I'm firmly in the wedding frame of mind today at least

FreakinScaryCaaw · 05/01/2015 22:42

Excellent news Cocoaone.

Regarding creamed soup, it stays in your stomach longer because it's blended with water. Larger particles let the water go through your system. Chunky soup is good too, better than a roast dinner for filling you up.

Food unwrapped from tonight.

Sounds like everyone is being disciplined today on this thread. I will not repeat what I had yesterday as I'm too ashamed bread, bread and more bread, with Nutella in the morning and with cheese in the evening Blush I figured one last day of shit and then disciplined!

Well done on your food intake today Santas Coco and freakin.

Dowser you were doing so well up to the ferro Roche Grin I love them so no way would I have resisted if they were in front of me. And I'm having omelette tomorrow with left over meat from yesterday that needs eating so you've inspired me!

Today has been a good day for me and my first day without bread for a few days:

B - fruit salad with Greek yoghurt
L - homemade leek and potato soup
D - small left over Turkey dinner from yesterday with extra veg and turkey. I did have gravy though, just a smidgen!
Snacks - zero
Exercise - gym, cardio for 25 minutes and weights for 25 minutes

Feel my legs burning tonight. Glad I had some carbs at dinner otherwise the gym would have killed me. I figure potato has to be better than pasta or bread!

Plan tomorrow is omelette and roast pepper soup which I've quickly made tonight after tea. My colleague and I are both sharing to bring in lunches. So she brought L&P soup today and I'm bringing hers in tomorrow. Just mixes it up a bit and gives some variation, plus saves time every other day too.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 05/01/2015 23:34

Don't forget to blend the soup Ginger Wink

Feeling pretty good today, feeling like i can actually do this!

B - small bowl of blueberry wheats with a dash of semi skimmed milk
L - small portion of whole wheat pasta with tomato sauce
D - 2 crackerbreads with Philadelphia extra light and a couple sticks of cucumber and a ski lemon mouse

drinks were water and sparkling flavoured water throughout the day

Cocoaone · 06/01/2015 06:31

What does everyone think to having some kind of shared spreadsheet (bloody love a good spreadsheet Grin) with wedding date and weight lost per week/in total. Doesn't have to have start weight if people don't want to share?

Ginger - sounds like a much better day, and agree - I think you need some carbs to go to the gym (low carbers would disagree, I'm sure). But I definitely find it easier with some inside me!

Freakin - will try and 4OD it tonight x

Can you count me in please! I lost 1.5 st last year, got within 6lb of target and bought a dress, all very exciting.
Sadly I have put back on half a stone since so now I'm going to have to diet to get back into my dress!
I'm 5'7" and currently 10st 7lb, my aim is to get to 9st 8lb. Annoyingly I had just broken the 10st barrier before I went totally off the rails and I need to get it back under control.
The plan is 5:2, which worked brilliantly last time with healthy non-fast days during the week and a bit of slack at the weekends. That should get me back to 10st then a strict hard push for the end!
Exercise wise it's 2 runs a week, one gym session, one bike ride and hopefully at least one other thing. My DP bought me lots of lovely gym equipment for my birthday so there's no excuse really.
I do feel I've given in to societies expectations a bit in dieting for my wedding, I got really cross when at a size 10/12 and the slimmest I'd been in years people asked me how much I planned to loose! But now I have to get back to that weight and it gives me an excuse to go further and get into really good shape.
Good luck to everyone who's already making efforts! Smile

5madthings · 06/01/2015 07:07

Oh god I was being really thick. Thinking what is B L D but it's just breakfast, lunch, dinner.

I have bought a,fancy new, notebook to record my exercise and measurements etc.

Did another 5.2km run last night and will run again tonight :)

dancingwitch · 06/01/2015 08:35

I'm glad that others are willing to share what they're eating as that is the best way I stay on the straight & narrow.
B - a pint of water & a Berrow a
L - three sausages, a potato waffle & sweetcorn (failed to go to the supermarket so DP went for a hunt in the freezer)
D - chicken soup & a slice of bread

Snacks - half a banana mid morning; 2 crackabread with ELF, a tomato & a carrot

Remember to count any milk in tea, coffee etc. I am switching to fruit teas, hot water apart from one mid afternoon cup of tea.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 06/01/2015 09:52

Well done everyone.

Boleh you sound very slim already. Why would people ask how much you were planning to lose? Were they stick thin? Confused

B this morning was frosties, only because ds2 refused to eat them as he wanted an apple for breakfast. I wouldn't normally eat something so unhealthy for breakfast. Wink

L will be some sort of creamed soup.

5madthings watch the show on 4OD that I linked. It says beetroot juice is good for training. The nitrate in it helps?

FreakinScaryCaaw · 06/01/2015 09:53

Beetroot news. It's old news apparently and all over the net.

Well beginning day 6 today. I'm getting more used to the idea now.

I've come in at slightly under my cals for the days (1200) just have made rotten choices after lunch.
I'm a bit concerned Lj that you had no or very little protein during your day. Hopefully just a one off.

My GP always says to me that if you feel hungry eat some protein. Protein helps your body to repair itself.

It's funny isn't it Boleh, your height and weight would be my ideal. I'm not getting weighed but I love the idea of a spread sheet.

I watched that programme last night fat and on benefits. Well it was on while I was making soup. The chap lost a pound and then ordered a kebab( ugh!) . To celebrate. That would be me, only I wouldn't be eating a kebab like that. Hell would freeze over first. But yes a loss would have me celebrating and a gain i would be commiserating with choccie.

Have a good day everyone. Make the right choices. I'm going to.

SoonToBeMrsB · 06/01/2015 11:16

Morning all! Well, yesterday was the last day of my misadventure with a VLCD meal replacement thing and I can honestly say that, after five days without solid food, I've never enjoyed Shredded Wheat so much! Grin

Back to the grind of Weight Watchers because I know that it works. I lost 3st with WW in 2012/2013 and kept it off until a few months ago. Shame that I put 20lbs of that back on due to sheer greed and lack of self-control Sad

DP and I have each spoken to our workplaces and it looks like we'll be jetting off to get married on the 19th June 2016 - eek! It's scary having an actual date in place! Flights for then go on sale in July this year so still a few months until we're booked up and it's set in stone.

Dowser · 06/01/2015 11:49

It's amazing how quick it comes round. We booked ours last April and we have what....8 months or something .

Yikes, and I still haven't seen a dress that will fit the bill....or me even!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 06/01/2015 11:51

STBMB have you watched the diet programme I linked to? The creamed soup really does work. Of course don't add cream but just blend soup.

I haven't seen fat and on benefits, don't think it'd appeal? I did watch Secret eaters though and was shocked at how much the young couple ate! She said she never ate lunch but had eaten out, and lots of it, 3 times. I'm amazed people can eat as much as they did and think they don't? Was gross the way she was feeding her toddler dd the chocolate mousse for breakfast and putting the spoon in her own mouth. And chocolate mousse for breakfast, what sort of example is that to set?

I've just been looking at dresses and couldn't find anything. I don't want too long a one, perhaps 50s style? And not white.

I've decided I'll get one that fits now and get my dressmaker friend to take it in.

OP posts:
FreakinScaryCaaw · 06/01/2015 12:06

Love this one. Have you seen the price?!!! 10 to 12 weeks for delivery. I get married in June. If I ordered it now it'd be here by the end of March.

OP posts:
FreakinScaryCaaw · 06/01/2015 12:06

Secret eaters.. I mean she denied eating lunch but they'd filmed her eating out.

5madthings · 06/01/2015 12:34

I,am getting my dress made by honeypie boutique :)

Dowser · 06/01/2015 12:54

That's really pretty Fsc. I don't think I can link to the one I actually ordered and even bought the matching shoes only to find when I got home the dress hadn't arrived and they'd refunded my money.

Yes it was you QUIZ !

I ordered a size 18 as there was no stretch in it and was going to take it in or get someone to do it for me.

Gutted. I hope they do the same one this year.

Dowser · 06/01/2015 12:55

Maybe it was a sign that I'm going to be so much thinner by the time the wedding comes round.

Dowser · 06/01/2015 12:58

I just remembered. I sent my daughter a link to it and I've found the email. Here it is

FreakinScaryCaaw · 06/01/2015 13:06

That's beautiful Dowser. They have a 16 in stock it says?
