Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

FreakinScaryCaaw

The 50's style one is similar to my dress but I have a sweetheart neckline. I looked at Honeypie Boutique but I ended up ordering a dress from the States. I've already got my shoes and the most amazing peacock-blue petticoat, DP will wear a tie in the same colour. My dreams of a vintage-style wedding are coming true, I'm so excited for my photography with the backdrop of New York brownstones and Central Park Grin

SantasFavouriteHo · 06/01/2015 13:33

That's really pretty Dowser

I love having a dieting/wedding thread, it's the two biggest things taking up brain space ATM so nice to be able to share it!

I'm between two dresses, I've ordered both but any opinions would be nice!

Dress one

Dress two

So who's getting married first? We should have a list - wedding date and progress so far or something?

SoonToBeMrsB · 06/01/2015 13:42

Dress one is gorgeous Santa!

They're both stunning but that's my favourite.

Good idea about the list and progress. I'm currently 4st 7lbs from my goal weight (gulp!) and getting married on (flights depending!) 21st June 2016.

gotredonyou · 06/01/2015 14:03

Can I join you ladies? I'm getting married this Nov and have 1.5-2 stone to lose- have already lost 3.5 stone over the past 18 months so am motivated to get to goal before the big day !:)

Already bought my dress (www.weddingdressexpert.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Anoushka-G-Catherine-9719575534_cc30267174_o.jpg) which fits me perfectly now in a size 12 so hoping to lose the weight and get it fitted to my new slimmer figure in Oct.

I've recently been diagnosed with pcos so following a low gi/carb diet and cutting out dairy as I've read it helps with my symptoms (acne, hair growth/loss etc..)

Here's todays menu-

B- 1 wholemeal toast, 2 scrambled eggs.
L- Homemade Spicy Veg soup, Grapes & handful of mixed nuts
D- Lean Beef Burger, Sweet Potato Wedges & Salad.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 06/01/2015 16:16

Welcome gotredonyou.

Santa I like both but first is my fave.

I've just booked the wedding dance party.Going in on Thursday lunchtime to discuss it. It's in a lovely pub with a function room (and great food and ale) Wink But I'll be so thin by then who cares Grin

There'll be around 50 at the party and only 15 ish at the actual wedding. The party is when we come back from the honeymoon though.

Hello! Can I join to please I could do witb losing about 8lbs, which doesn't sound too much but I was also super fit this time last year so my body type has change a lot too annoyingly. Wedding not till Dec, but obviously need to get dress ordered sooner (thinking March?).

I LOVE gym classes but due to work change struggle to get to as many. Plan is to run 4x a week with home strength ex and weights and do classes when possible. I also need to cut the sweet things out-easier said than done!

SantasFavouriteHo · 06/01/2015 16:50

Gotred I love the sleeves! I wanted sleeves too (to hide my fat arms!) but none of the bridal shops I went in had dresses with sleeves, at best just little jacket things

SantasFavouriteHo · 06/01/2015 16:51

lizard again! when I was looking in bridal shops! they were saying about 4/5 months to order it in and then 2/3 months of fittings, if that's any help?

RoseberryTopping · 06/01/2015 19:27

Hello!
Well I've been doing terribly. I've felt moody and lethargic all day and found myself furiously shoving left over chocolate down my throat earlier Sad I don't even know how much it was to be able to log it! I've thrown every last sweet treat out now so there's no temptation, will start again tomorrow with a better frame of mind hopefully. Did a load of spinach and lentil soup to freeze earlier, still looking for other meal ideas though.
I'm still breastfeeding DS so do find it hard to diet, that's my excuse any way Wink

I'm loving these dresses! Has everyone got their venue etc sorted? We're doing a low key wedding so I'm thinking somewhere small and local, don't think I will do the traditional wedding dress either.

RoseberryTopping · 06/01/2015 19:31

Wish I had your determination Lizard! I hate exercising. I'm about to go throw myself around the living room with a davina DVD. First proper exercise since I had the baby, wish me luck!

GingerSkin · 06/01/2015 20:26

Hi to the new ones

We're trying to share what we're eating as it makes most of us more disciplined if we have to tell others out loud what we've consumer!

I like the idea of a spreadsheet - definitely get on that!

Today has been good again:

B - 2 egg omelette with turkey (left overs) and pint of water

L - homemade roast pepper soup and pint of water

D - chicken and veg curry with small jacket potato and butter and more water!

No exercise tonight as I went to the gym last night. Scheduled to go tomorrow night with a friend.

How's everyone done today?

5madthings · 06/01/2015 21:27

Evening, good day here eating wise and another 5.2km run this eve at a faster pace than yesterday, felt good, I then.did some stretching and toning exercises and sit ups etc once home, can feel it now so good job tomorrow is a rest day!

Re wedding dates, 28th may for me, late morning at registry office and then a two min walk to pizza express for lunch. No evening due, very low key and relaxed and child friendly as obviously we have the fivemadthings and friends will be bringing kids.

My main.excitement is that after the meal dp and I are going away for two nights with no kids! It will be our first time away with no kids in almost 16 years! We are finally getting married after 17 years and five kids together, our eldest two 15 and 12 will be witnesses and all five will walk down the aisle with me :)

My dress is by honeypie boutique but they are doing a diff style top for me, I sent them a pic and they were happy to alter a design for me. With a petticoat to match my shoes, which I already have by rubyshoo.

Excited but also nervous!

5madthings · 06/01/2015 21:29

These are my shoes :) and a friend is,making a bouquet out of felt and buttons! And another friend has offered to do a cake :)

Just watched that food unwrapped programme - so interesting about the soup! Will definitely blend my soups from now on!

Speaking of soup - does anyone have any really good recipes?

Under cals for me today:
B - some baked Ham and mango (not random!)
L - grilled chicken salad, banana
D - left over spag Bol/chilli with sweet corn and few new potatoes.
Snacks - clementine and 5 celebrations - they have all gone now. Yay!

Cocoaone · 06/01/2015 21:31

Ps - loving the dresses and shoes!

Santas - I think I prefer the second dress, but they are both stunning x

MsVanRein · 06/01/2015 21:39

Hey - haven't actually checked in since I joined the thread but I am 4lbs down so far so I am pleased.

Today I had a bit of a mix of good and bad but wasn't too bad over all - probably too much carbs but small portions.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 07/01/2015 00:17

Well I've been out dancing tonight (salsa jive) and danced for 2.5 hours.

I haven't eaten much today but having homemade beef panang now. I'll let it settle then off to bed.

Well done MsVR.

I prefer the first dress. The styles are similar but I think the first one has the edge of sophistication about it.

Love the shoes mad things. The whole wedding sounds lovely and chilled.

Food wise I've done really good today but still over the limit.

B...2 egg omelette with onion

L....green juice with apple juice added

D...Veg soup and .turkey curry with rice

Snacks 1 ferraro Roche, 1 apple

That little lot was 1200

Then we went to the pub and I had soda water but the landlord generously gave everyone a little drink...so I had a small sherry.

And a piece of ham when I came in

So, yes a bit over but who's counting.

I've made the jellies that I posted the recipe for only I used tesco frozen summer berries. I used 8 paper cups and divided all the berries between them and a pint of apple juice ( with a pack of gelatine powder) just divided amongst the 8. The book I used said made with apple and mango they should be about 60 cals but I counted more like 100 with the berries. You could get away with using less fruit but was going out and rushed it.

Will let you know what they taste like tomorrow. Price wise they work out at about 35p each. Buying the juice and fruit from aldi will be cheaper of course. I shall substitute one for the Ferraro roche tomorrow.

Oh and we are getting married in September on the island of fernando ;-)

FreakinScaryCaaw · 07/01/2015 09:03

Jellies sound nice Dowser.

I'm off on a health walk now. Will tell you how it went when I'm back. It's only for an hour.

No breakfast as yet apart from fresh orange juice and coffee. I'm going to have a banana. Drank some wine when out dancing last night Blush

I'm not weighing myself until the weekend.

Loving everyone's dresses! Here is my dress, petticoat and shoes...

I went back to Weight Watchers for the first time since 17th December and I've managed to stay exactly the same, which I put down to those few days on total meal replacement because trust me, the scales were NOT that kind on New Years Eve Blush

Dowser · 07/01/2015 09:54

I rang them FSC and she said she would check the warehouse and ring me back. I've just checked their website and their size 16 does a hip of 40 1/4 ins. On a good day I'm 42. Can't remember when I was last uner that( typical English pear)

Love your dress Mrs B and the green petticoat will look stunning. I had a fifties theme for my 60 th birthday and my daughter wore a 50 s rockabilly dress with one of those peticoats from vivien of holloway. I got a black and white spotted one. Mine was a size 18 eek. I tried it on a couple of months ago and it wouldn't do up or if It did I couldn't eat in it.

Something needs to change!

Today its a week since I started this diet. It's got easier as the week has worn on. If I don't stay on the calorie counting, it's been really useful to see how calorie laden some foods are.

I think I maybe the oldest bride. That's ok! I've lived a full life.
Have a good day everyone. Make some good choices.

SoonToBeMrsB · 07/01/2015 09:59

DP will be wearing charcoal trousers and waistcoat, white shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a tie the same colour as my petticoat. He already has a retro-style "pompadour" haircut. He'll look so handsome! Grin

My dress is a US size 8 and I'm currently a 16 so I need to drop at least two dress sizes... eek!

Glad to see that calorie counting is working for you Dowser, it can be an eye-opener! Smile

SoonToBeMrsB · 07/01/2015 10:02

Currently a UK 16, I should say, so a US 12 I think.
