Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

FreakinScaryCaaw · 29/12/2014 14:10

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

I'm sure you will. You've allowed p,entry of time.

It's so hard though.

I've just watched OH wrap his choppers around a great big juicy sandwich and I've had a 12 oz glass of green juice with carrot, apple and pear.

I've just checked what a Ferraro rocher is. It's 60 cal. That's on my hit list for tonight.

OH hates it when I diet. Not quite as much as I do though!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 03/01/2015 12:27

Calorie counting really makes you think doesn't it?

Mince pies, which I love, are around 240 cals! There were a couple of boxes in the staff room for us yesterday and I resisted. I had a couple of toffees, another fave of mine, instead.

Crisps are my biggest downfall. I had a bag last night with my supper but I had been really good all day. Plus had been very active as my client was on the go all day.

Love reading all your messages Smile

We can do it!

Gah did a big post and it got eaten!

I ran last night, first run in a while and I can.feel it today! Going for a short run.this eve with a friend once dp home from work. Tomorrow will be a rest day, then Monday I start my 12 wk prog, running four times a week to build up to half marathon.distance! It's 16 wks till the half marathon.so I have a bit of leeway.

Re food, my downfall is snacking, chocolate and biscuits etc. I have let the madthings eat all the Xmas crap we had leftover! Not feeling the urge to snack yet. I won't.diet but will just watch portion size and eat healthily but allow myself the odd treat. Am quite lucky in.that as soon as I exercise regularly I lose weight.

Plus school.run starts Tues, it's two miles to.school and I.bike.it with toddler madthing in.bike seat, so eight miles a day on bike.

Good luck everyone!

I am going to take my measurements and.then re do every few weeks, that's always a good motivator!

dancingwitch · 03/01/2015 20:19

Not a great start here as currently at PILs for Xmas with them...Christmas cake, trifle, cheese, chocolates. I will start properly on Monday!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 03/01/2015 20:28

dancingwitch you have to enjoy this time of year. Monday sounds good.

I'm having half a parmo (local dish very calorific) with salad tonight. Been for a long walk so don't feel too guilty. Plus it's the weekend. excuses

I'm digging out Jillian's Shred dvd tomorrow. I won't do it every day as work 13 hour shifts so it's not easy.

It's just too easy to eat 1200 calories and have nothing left for later.

I've had 2 egg omelette with onion for brekkie

12 oz of green juice plus carrot, apple and pear juice....that's about 220 calories which seem a lot. Lunch

I made a bag of 25 g of mixed nuts...165 cals and have snacked on them from lunchtime onwards

Dinner was about 125 g of roast lean pork...about 350 cals
3 sweet potato wedges..........140
Carrot and green beans..........30 cals

That's 1155. I always have about 3 desert spoons of kefir on night for my daily dose of probiotics.

So, that's it. I'm either making rotten choices or I've been massively over eating in the past.

Wonder how everyone else spends their 1200 cals. I'm gluten free so no bread, cakes, biscuits etc

Chipsahoythere · 03/01/2015 21:50

I'm not getting married til December. I'm 5 foot 7 and was 11 stone 5 before Christmas so I need to lose a fair bit!
I'd like to be 10 stone for the wedding. Want to be a bit more athletic than I am now though.

SoonToBeMrsB · 03/01/2015 21:54

Dowser

1200 is really low - have you worked out your BMR and TDEE? I'm 5' 4" and 14st 7lbs with a TDEE of 2300kcal a day (with exercise four times a week), so 80% of that is 184kcal a day to lose weight steadily.

SoonToBeMrsB · 03/01/2015 21:55

1840kcal**

Moochops89 · 03/01/2015 22:45

Me Grin I got engaged on Christmas Day and we're thinking 2017 for the wedding so a while off yet but I now have something to work towards!
I was ill over Christmas so managed to actually lose a few lbs for a starting point. I'm currently 5 ft 1 and a size 18 Blush and I'd LOVE to be a size 8/10 on the day so around 5 stone to lose. I started C25K a while ago and made it to week 3 before I fell off the wagon, and I quite enjoyed it so I'm starting it again tomorrow morning.
I used to like going to different gym classes as the variety kept it fun so will probably do that 3 or 4 nights a week as well.
The thought of reaching my target makes me so excited, here's hoping I can stay motivated!

Cocoaone · 03/01/2015 22:50

Me! We get married in August and the pounds have been slowly creeping on over the past year or so. I'd love to get down to about 10stone, and I'm currently about 11.4 I think. Dress already bought and fits well but can be taken in. It's not fitted, so only the top half would have to be altered but most of my weight is on my arse anyway

I've got no idea how to lose weight though. I like the idea of low carb - and I know people who it works for, but I have a lot of family history of heart problems and I'm not convinced either way on the current 'fat is good' mantra. But equally - I'm a carb fiend and know I should cut down significantly.

I think cutting out as much added sugar as possible, limiting pasta and bread, eating more veg and exercising more should help. I might re-start the couch to 5k programme (I got shin splints last time)

FreakinScaryCaaw · 03/01/2015 22:51

Congratulations Moochops89. Was it a surprise?

I ate too much tonight Blush

Dp's starting the 5:2 again, he lost a fair amount doing that. He's a snacker though so it's not easy.

Hello! Could I possibly join? Wedding in September so planning on ADF-ing from Monday, lost nearly 4 stone last year and then put 2 and a half back on when I stopped
Was doing zumba as well which I loved but my work patterns changed and then I couldn't go so must motivate myself to go swimming instead when I can fit it in - I need a support group though, its really easy to lie/justify reasons to yourself but I'm better if I have to own up to a group if 've fallen off the wagon!

Cocoaone · 03/01/2015 22:54

Congratulations Moochops!

We got engaged in May but I've only recently set the date/booked the venue, so it's all systems go!

Happy to be your C25k buddy to keep each other motivated. I'd got up to about 5/6 miles a couple of years ago, but got shin splints and found it hard to work in around OHs shift work. But he's 9-5 now, so should be easier (I hope!)

Moochops89 · 03/01/2015 23:30

Thanks! Yes complete surprise as long overdue, we've been together 8 years so was beginning to give up hope Grin

Cocoaone · 03/01/2015 23:33

Same here - 8.5 years and one 4 year old DD before he finally decided to pop the question. I'd definitely come to terms with the fact he just wasn't the marrying kind Grin

GingerSkin · 03/01/2015 23:46

Same here with engagement at 8.5 years Grin definitely a shock for me.

Last day tomorrow of pigging out and on paleo from Monday.

Did manage the gym 3 times last week. Just eaten crap though so it doesn't count!

Today's food:
B- full fry up
L - nothing, full from breakie
D - home made carbonara! Lush and the last lot of pasta I'm having
Snack - orange, grapes, 1 choc biscuit and some icecream

Rubbish food day! But if I know I have to write out what I've had, it will guilt me into eating better [hopeful emotion]

FreakinScaryCaaw · 04/01/2015 00:21

Good idea to write out what we eat.

Then write out what we lose, because we will Smile

B - nothing still full from last night
L- pork, veg and boiled rice
D - 1/2 a spicy parmo with salad and chips Blush plus garlic sauce. Pic is of a parmo but mine was half the size plus much more salad, honest Grin

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

Cocoaone · 04/01/2015 09:17

At least they all saw sense.... eventually Grin

Last day eating all the left-over food in the house before starting tomorrow. I have chucked the last remaining bits of Christmas cake and mince pies.
B - bacon sarnie
L - Probably a ham and cheese roll with crisps/salad
D - at PILs - so probably roast, glass of wine and pudding Cake

I am planning on going to the park today with DD - so will try and run around a bit!

Does anyone use MFP? Happy to share usernames over PM if anyone wants to.

Dowser · 04/01/2015 10:56

Mrs B, I don't know what tdee is. Is bmr , BMi?

I'll do about a week of 1200 and then I might switch to slimming world. I did really well on that.

If I can find my books that is. Being gluten free and not eating chicken is a real bummer!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 04/01/2015 11:08

Well I've had my breakfast. A very small portion of scrambled egg.

Am off out for the day now to Durham but I'll be good Wink

Best of luck everyone.

My BMI is 27. Too high and it says my ideal weight is between 8 stone something and 11 stone something. I'm 5 8 and would look ill at anything under 10 (from past experience).

Oooo can i join please??

im getting married in July, have already lost a stone (really really slowly!!) and would like to lose another 3, but 2 will do!

i already have my dress and it fits me now, but will look alot nicer if im smaller and get it taken in.

i have no time to exercise, apart from when dd naps so think i will find some fitness dvds.

so far today i have had....

a small bowl of blueberry wheat cereal with a dash of semi skimmed milk.

SantasFavouriteHo · 04/01/2015 13:19

Right fast day today so aiming at about 500 calories, had a sprite zero so far (3 calories gone! will have a diet ready meal tonight/quorum sausage and cabbage and then an options hot chocolate and some blackberries, that should come in at about that. Good luck to everyone else starting today!

Dowser · 04/01/2015 17:33

Only 7 hours Till bedtime and still have 600 calories left and a full stomach already.

That must be because I didn't eat till 4 pm. Is that the secret?

I really don't like going all that long without food, it was just circumstance today.

I had a big carvery roast. No Yorkshire pud, no gravy, just 3 types of meat, 3 small roasties and some roasted carrots and broccoli and a bit of cranberry sauce? I've allowed about 430 for that and pinched an ounce of ice cream from the grand kids. That's 60.

Stuffed. Stomach has shrunk already.
