Week 2 - Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - How was week 1 for you?!

BIWI · 06/05/2013 09:19

Hopefully you've all entered your weight in the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness and I hope that everyone managed a successful first week!

It probably wasn't the easiest week to start, what with the bank holiday, but never mind. It's a really good lesson that life and all its temptations will frequently get in the way.

Hope everyone has some sunshine today. It's perfect barbecue weather, and barbecue food is perfect for low carbing. And if anyone wants a good recipe, there's a lovely one for marinated chicken on the recipe thread

Hi all . BBQ weather so stay on track!

LackaDAISYcal · 06/05/2013 09:33

Morning Brew

Fabulous first week here, considering that I didn't start till Tuesday and ate a bag of wine gums on Tuesday night. Knuckled down on Wednesday and have never felt deprived and only a teensy bit of craving something sweet and carby (hence the odd grape finding it's way into my (not as fat) face)

I am inspired and motivated and loving how much gorgeous food I've been able to eat Grin

JaxTellerIsAllMine · 06/05/2013 09:40

I have lost 9lbs so far. very impressed considering the wine and thai disaster. But apart from that been v good.

well done everyone.

thekitchenfairy · 06/05/2013 09:49

Hello... Thread moved so fast I couldn't keep,up,so that's me now with a coffee with cream!

I had a brilliant start... Amazing in fact... But I have had wine during what has been a lovely, sunny, unexpectedly sociable weekend and undone all my good work. So I am back to where I started. My own fault, and I've given myself a good talking to. Thank goodness I stayed away from the cake and the BBQ baguette... Dread to think what the damage would have been!

thekitchenfairy · 06/05/2013 09:59

Yes yes Lacka. I feel amazing, I am eating amazing food... And having watched rather sceptically from the sidelines DH is now joining me which will make life easier.

And my shape has changed... I am kicking a lifelong addiction to sugar... My skin is glowing... And I can get into some clothes that have been too tight for the last two years... hurrah... And thanks for BIWI and the big stick and for the wonderful resources and support on this thread Thanks Thanks Thanks all round!

LackaDAISYcal · 06/05/2013 10:04

My DH is making "oooh, I need to lose my tummy fat" noises and seeing just how well I have eaten, is thinking about joining in. He is a huuuge carb eater though, so it would be a lot harder for him. Being coeliac, I gave up sandwiches, pasta and cereals years ago, and only ate gluten free versions occasionally as they are sooo expensive.

emmief77 · 06/05/2013 10:49

Thanks BIWI for this thread and support

I am a carb queen no more 6lbGrin

I can't believe how easily I have managed to switch off my sweet tooth.

The last 2 days have been the hardest, I have been hungry and have snacked on too much Babybels and Boursin. So have got to concentrate on increasing my portion sizes.

GetOrfMoiLand · 06/05/2013 11:34

Hello thread two.

I have a hangover. I am resisting the siren call of the Doritos in the cupboard.

Lost 3lbs which is ok, but had a fair amount of wine last night so it probably would have been more (it was 5lbs loss at the beginning of the weekend).

Onwards and upwards for week 2.

BIWI · 06/05/2013 11:37

Ignores all mention of wine

Put it this way, GetOrf, it's 3lbs that you didn't need. Like 6 packs of lard, if that helps you?

Brilliant, snowball!

3lb off for me. I wish I hadn't drunk that half bottle of red last night.
Just got to keep going.

MrsHerculePoirot · 06/05/2013 11:52

AuntieMaggie · 06/05/2013 11:59

Well done everyone on their losses.

WillieWaggledagger · 06/05/2013 11:59

well done to everyone who has survived the first week!

if you have any problems recording your weight on the spreadsheet just shout

BlackAffronted · 06/05/2013 12:06

I wont be weighing until wed as I was late to the party. Fab start everyone!

prettybird · 06/05/2013 12:16

Marking place. Will weigh in tomorrow - and adjust my weight for last week as now have new scales, so need to set a new baseline.

Tigglette · 06/05/2013 12:57

So good first week all things considered - 3lb down and feeling generally healthier. Today's meal plan is:-

B. Greek yoghurt
L. Chicken thighs and salad
D. Thai prawn curry

Lots and lots of water and ginger tea. Hope everyone has a good day.

leobeebs · 06/05/2013 13:02

I would love to join. I've lurked over several threads but now is my lightbulb moment.
I'm needing breakfast ideas can't stomach anything other that cereal. What can you add to Greek yogurt as that maybe doable? I find it bitter but love it with fruit but that's out!!
Sorry lots of asks. Is there a meal planner about as I'm rubbish with cooking ideas.

Really don't want to be as fat this summer.

I'm 5'2" and weigh 11 stone 10! Eek.

emmief77 · 06/05/2013 13:04

leobeebs - I am 5'3" and weigh 13st 10 !! Big eek

herecomesthsun · 06/05/2013 13:06

I like Greek yoghurt on its own, I do sometimes add a couple of drops of unsweetened chocolate extract. When on Bootcamp light, toasted slivered almonds, and/or a few berries.

emmief77 · 06/05/2013 13:07

Tigglette - thanks for posting your meal plan today, really helpful for a newbie like myself.. Thanks

Tigglette · 06/05/2013 13:10

You're very welcome, I've got lots of ideas reading what other people are eating, BlackAffronted is particularly worth looking out for.

herecomesthsun · 06/05/2013 13:11

there is a 3 day meal planner devised bY BIWI that is Bootcamp proper.

re breakfast, a lot of people have hardboiled eggs and Boursin or butter or mayonnaise. Or bacon and mushrooms. Smoked salmon and cream cheese is a nice treat!
