Week 2 - Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - How was week 1 for you?!

BIWI · 06/05/2013 09:19

Hopefully you've all entered your weight in the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness and I hope that everyone managed a successful first week!

It probably wasn't the easiest week to start, what with the bank holiday, but never mind. It's a really good lesson that life and all its temptations will frequently get in the way.

Hope everyone has some sunshine today. It's perfect barbecue weather, and barbecue food is perfect for low carbing. And if anyone wants a good recipe, there's a lovely one for marinated chicken on the recipe thread

This is witchcraft! I am quite a pig, but have stuck to this except for a piece of birthday cake and some wine on DS2's birthday last week, and I am now back to my 34 in bra strap size, instead of my fat 36 inch bra strap size.

I was too ashamed to put my 14 stone 4/5 on the spread sheet, but now I am 13' 8 and am just overweight instead of "obese*! Grin. I will put my starting weight in soon.

I am too scared to start on the nuts and berries, I keep thinking about them and thinking, "I can if I really want to.." I will save the wine for the weekends only.

I am still eating good sized portions, so I can't believe I am having less calories than normal.

The only thing I really, really miss is chick peas Sad. I love chick peas.

Well I'm a pound down from start date but had gained last week due to weekend. Stats are a bit odd for me as i really started aroound ten days before official start. I have lost a bit more than the almost a pound from 29.

Well no change from yesterday - I expect that'll be my sinful Saturday night catching up with me. Hmm

Still, 6lbs off since starting on Tuesday, so I'm bloody thrilled with that. My jeans (size 14) fit comfortably again, whereas for ages I've had to undo the button and sometimes the zip if I'm sitting down. Blush I'm really looking forward to buying some size 12 jeans!

Ive stayed the same, which is fine, because TOM is here, but I can see a huge difference in size around tum and waist. not disheartened at all!

robino i have re-added you. you need to put in your start weight too as well as your weigh in for this week in column K

the spreadsheet is a bit tricky to use if you're not in google chrome browser. i don't know what it looks like on the ipad, but on the iphone you have to click 'edit' at the start of the line that you want to change (so next to your name) and then you can add in or change figures in that row

2.6lbs off for me. Half a stone to go!

Report
sybilfaulty · 13/05/2013 06:58

2lb off for me. So 4lb in total ( I think. I am not very good in lbs overall although I know what I weigh). It was 3lbs at one point but the scales settled on 2. I reckon if I could lose another stone overall, I'd be happy.

Well done to everyone who has lost and manly pats on the shoulder to those who have STS or put on.

Whoop! Whoop!

Another lb gone this morning (2lbs down on yesterday's weight).

Which makes 4 lbs this week and I am looking THINNER!!!

(even though I think I must have miscalculated last week because it only comes up as 3 lbs on the spreadsheet!)

But anyway Whoop!!

And well done to all the losers!!

robino · 13/05/2013 06:32

Oh, can I be added back on to the spreadsheet? And can anyone tell me how to entertain hints on the spreadsheet from an ipad? I keep forgetting to fire up the laptop

Morning! I have lost 6lbs this week ( after failing to loose any last week). I am under 12 stone for the first time in a few children!

Morning. Am (just) back under 10 st Smile

Am quite stunned at how easy it is not to snack, pilfer bits of pasta from the kids etc.

Just checked mulberries have 14% carbs so I should only have a tiny handful.

Good morning ladies, just weighed myself and one whole and exact pound down. So total loss of five pounds over two weeks. I will start my exercise from today, will do couch to 5k and shred. I also have gym membership so will see if I can do something there couple of days a week.

Thank you for all the inspiration. Oh I will do a couple of days bootcamp light as I have great looking fresh mulberries in the fridge. I will check carb content first and then devour.

Checking in! Not too bad a weekend, dinner with friends out last night was chicken wings followed by an enormous burger with cheese, bacon and avocado - gave DP's friend the roll! Did have a couple of gins though. Then eggs this morning and lunch at the pub - smoked duck salad with celeriac remoulade, was delish though did have a couple of thin slices of apple in it. Pork chops and cauliflower cheese for dinner, and gallons of water. Fingers crossed for a loss tomorrow, yesterday morning it was 4lbs and I don't think I've gone too mad... Will mostly stick with bootcamp I think though looking forward to me previous bootcamp light treat of frozen raspberries and cream!

Just checking in before bedtime.
B bacon and mushrooms
L unexpectedly out for lunch but had cheese and mushroom omelette with salad. Unfortunately it was drizzled with balsamic vinegar but other than that lovely
D shepherds pie with celeriac mash for me and potatoes for rest of the clan. They all had double chocolate cake with cream and I just didn't want it enough! It was all synthetic and rubbish so I didn't bother

someone asked about the parmesan chicken recipe, it's very simply strips of chicken breast dipped in beaten egg (I use 1 egg for 3 breasts and that does 2 portions), then dipped in a big heap of grated parmesan (use a microplane grater) and fry in butter. I fry at high heat to get the pieces crispy and pour on any left over egg/cheese. Remove from pan and let cool on kitchen towel. Good hot or cold.

Very interesting info about exercise - I found a really old pair of jeans today and tried them on excitedly thinking they would fit well but they were totally tight and uncomfortable. Must have put on the few lbs I lost, perhaps from starting exercise? I am really enjoying my 10 min solution blast off belly fat even although I am pretty useless at the exercises. DS1 thinks I am training to be a wrestler and joins in - cute!

anyhoo, 6 weeks to go, will have to be extra strict. Bikini beckons Shock

B: 2 hb eggs mashed with butter
L: veg soup with hm pesto, cauli cheese
D: chicken curry, cauli rice, chili cabbage

The pub where we go to for lunch regularly puts bloody balsamic on the salad, regardless of what other ingredients they use. Now that I know this, I will always say no balsamic. Chefs use it willie nillie! Grin

I am going to do a mixture of BC and lite next week and continue that way as I think I am doing very well so far. I have also found some delicious scratchings from Waitrose called Awfully Posh. They are lovely so going to be my 'treat' if I fancy something crunchy. To be honest I havent been that hungry the past few days it seems, which is supposedly a good thing. As long as I have a proper breakfast I am ok for a while.

Got a busy day tomorrow so must have food in the morning, otherwise come 11 I could stuff anything in my mouth. Blush

I know it's not ideal BIWI - hence the big treat that it was. It's the only thing I have had in a week that I shouldn't really. Not worried about it triggering cravings as I have been ok so far. I think I had two tsps. I had much more olive oil to balance it a bit.
