Couldn't get much more inspirational than the title of the first thread. We're doing this for ourselves. No one else outside family really cares if we're size 16 or size 10. No one else really benefits when we're slimmer. We take all the pain but get all the benefits. And it matters, we'll do anything to get there. Seriously assess - are you really doing all you can? Could you maybe cut out a bit more junk or exercise on the days you can't be bothered? If you really are doing all you can, brilliant. the weight will be coming off, slowly but surely. If, like me, you're thinking that maybe you could try a bit harder sign in here for your butt kicking.
do you want to be fat at christmas?

Yep, my overall target is 9.9 so not far off.

prob means I may have a few Xmas pounds extra to lose in Jan, but if I can get to 10 by Xmas then I can get a few pounds off after!

chipsandmayonnaise · 11/08/2012 21:33

Chips signing in.

See you tomorrow fellow Size 10'ers. :)

Me tooGrin

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 12/08/2012 06:44

Christmas target 11st (just over a stone off), but I'll settle for a loose size 14Smile.
How are we all on this new morning, new thread?

chipsandmayonnaise · 12/08/2012 07:33

Good morning all!

Hope you are all well. My first day of eating smaller portions and lots of veg went reasonably well- until dinner time, where I genuinely just forgot! I see I am going to have to concentrate on eating half portions!

Lots of housework and a bit of walking. Had a friend around last night and I made steak on a mustard crouton with brandy cream sauce mmm...... and realised it is the first proper meal i have had in weeks. All my food so far has been dieting or bingeing on crap! Today will be better though- I am determined to stick to half portions.

My aim is 9 stone 7 or 9 stone 10 (or somewhere in between) by Christmas.

Hope everyone has a great day!

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 12/08/2012 07:55

Oops, 11st is two stone offBlush, still, I can dream...

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 12/08/2012 08:06

Imst its doable . Think positive :)

Well I have woken up with a bad stomach and spent the last half hour on the toilet (TMI!) , I dont know if it was because i had day off yesterday or if its a bug.
Rough is the word that describes me best at the moment!

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 12/08/2012 08:13

Bonkey get plenty of water, you'll feel better soon.

Tangointhenight · 12/08/2012 08:18

I'm on, was size 12/14 before baby, am now 16 verging on 19 :(

I have a food addiction. So what can be done? I'm joining the gym, I would say I'm over 14 stone and 5'10.

Tangointhenight · 12/08/2012 08:18

Verging on 18 stupid phone!

me23 · 12/08/2012 08:26

Hello, is it ok of I join you part way though? I'm size 16 5ft 2 and 12.4 stone. I turned 30 this year and promised myself I wouldn't be fat and 30 but so far haven't had the will power to do it. I joined slimming world in jan and lost 10 pounds but wasn't able to stick to it or attend the merits enough because of shift work.
I used to be a size 8 before kids and tbh I would settle for a size 12 rather than 10. I obv eat too much junk and too big portion sizes. I plan to cut down on the crap and follow slimming world at home.
Christmas target is to lose 20lbs and fit into a size 14.

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 12/08/2012 08:29

tango welcome, what we mostly do on this thread is:
eat a bit less at a time,
recognise when we feel full and stop eating ,
try to build exercise into our everyday routines so we can keep it up,
Recognise willpower challenges and share ways to overcome them.
'Fess up when we fall off the wagon food-wise, and get straight back on track.
It's not a magic bullet, it will take time to lose the weight (logically, it took time to gain it), but small changes are more likely to last than fad diets.
We intend to get thin, and stay thin.

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 12/08/2012 08:31

me23 you're welcome here too (everyone is really, it's not a quicheSmile)

Tangointhenight · 12/08/2012 08:48

Thanks :)

It's the chocolate cravings that kill me, it's the reason I fail at so many of the diets. And carbs, I love them.

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 12/08/2012 08:53

One tip that was on the last thread is to have one piece of chocolate, then put the rest away. It is really hard to do at first, but the first hit of chocolate is the best, the rest is just habit. Perhaps get someone else to hide it for you if you can't resist temptation.
Oh, another favourite here is drinking water to make you feel fuller, you'll also feel better if you're hydrated.

MrsPnut · 12/08/2012 08:55

Morning and welcome me23.

I did pretty badly yesterday, wine and chips were the worst culprits but I did walk a long way.

Today doesn't look like it will be much better because we are going to a food festival. I know I will want to taste everything and will come home with massive amounts of goodies.

fluffyraggies · 12/08/2012 10:21

Morning, morning :)

not typ ing anything else. still hungover. No t yet sober infact

Tangointhenight · 12/08/2012 10:26

ioutrun I bought freddie before for that purpose and ended up eat a whole pack :(

My big problem is my DH is thin and likes to eat crisps chocolate etc so he complains when I don't buy the stuff.
