Couldn't get much more inspirational than the title of the first thread. We're doing this for ourselves. No one else outside family really cares if we're size 16 or size 10. No one else really benefits when we're slimmer. We take all the pain but get all the benefits. And it matters, we'll do anything to get there. Seriously assess - are you really doing all you can? Could you maybe cut out a bit more junk or exercise on the days you can't be bothered? If you really are doing all you can, brilliant. the weight will be coming off, slowly but surely. If, like me, you're thinking that maybe you could try a bit harder sign in here for your butt kicking.
do you want to be fat at christmas?

Or maybe threads like this will draw people in who want to make a change for themselves for whatever reason.

I am one of them, i have lost weight since joining a support thread. It has helped me immensely!

Krumbum · 13/08/2012 00:50

In what way is it nasty? That's a bit extreme.
I wrote that in may so you looked back pretty far for a post that you knew was active today.

Krumbum · 13/08/2012 00:51

I didn't create that thread about a thread!

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 13/08/2012 00:51

You don't have to look that hard, you just type the nn and it comes up with allsorts.

Try it.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 13/08/2012 00:53

krum, if you want to know, I searched your name to find this thread, and the first post that comes up is about weight loss (neither this thread, nor the one I linked to, nor the thread-about-a-thread). The one I linked to comes up on the first page, I didn't have to click anywhere to get it.

I have no interest at all in what you want to post or what your views on weightloss may be but I feel shit when I start posting in what looks like an interesting chat thread only to find it's actually about something completely different, and I end up looking as if I support someone posting rudely. Which I don't.

Ok?

Krumbum · 13/08/2012 00:57

I don't know what makes you think people would assume you agree with me on everything. Just because I agree with you in small thing.
But it's ok you made your quite cruel over the top point that we are in no way associated. I didn't realise anything I wrote in here would be used used in 'evidenced' against me.
You gonna ignore thunksheadontable? That poster saw the fat shaming in this thread too.

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 13/08/2012 01:01

This is was the third thread for this group.

We are all about healthy weight loss and support.

The first thread had ^ those words in. They have been carried on.

If you took a second to read through any of our threads you would see there was no 'fat hating' .

You have jumped on something because of a title. You did not look at the thread.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 13/08/2012 01:02

I didn't intend it to be cruel at all, just factual.

I'm not ignoring anyone, just don't really see the point in re-stating my opinions yet again just to have it turn into a bunfight. It's boring.

Krumbum · 13/08/2012 01:07

In what way is it factual to use irrelevant old posts of mine against me. If you read what I have been saying I at no point said i do not feel the same societal pressures! I have never said I am better than anyone else. We are all in this together. So what 'facts' did you add to the debate?

LRDtheFeministDragon · 13/08/2012 01:10

krum, that may all feel very obvious to you. But it was clear on the other thread that other posters didn't realize that and had felt as if you were judging them.

If you don't feel that you escape societal pressure, I fail to see why you are so bothered by me bringing up that post, which I did to demonstrate as simply as possible to people on this thread that you are - as you say - just like them.

If you believed what you said, you'd accept that, instead of storming as if it were in some way an insult to do it.

Krumbum · 13/08/2012 01:15

Because as you are fully aware the other posters will see it as me being hypocritical. And i think it's unfair to make it appear that way when it isn't true.

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 13/08/2012 01:16

Krum do you always have to have the last word?

You started this, LRD was just stating her opinions on things, just like you have.

Its going round in circles now!

LRDtheFeministDragon · 13/08/2012 01:17

Well, to coin a phrase, that's your problem.

Personally, I feel it was unfair to smarm at me on a thread thanking me for explaining your point when you know full well I did no such thing and then backtracking hastily when I picked you up on it.

Night night.

Krumbum · 13/08/2012 01:25

Ffs. I just thought the way you worded it explained what I meant well, the other poster knew that didn't mean you supported me, it was just coincidently a good explaination of what I had been trying to say to that poster. I'm sorry if you thought I was using you or trying to get you on side, that wasn't my intention.

StealthPolarBear · 13/08/2012 06:40

Right ok, since 2 people have picked up on it ill accept that "do uyou want to be fat at christmas?" Was badly worded. My intention was to ask "do you want to have made no progress by christmas?" And it was worded in a sensational way to act as kick up the bum. As I've said, it would apply to someone who is currently size 26 whose plan is to be size 24 at Christmas. I personally know that any weight loss makes you feel fantastic, when I went from a tight size 18 to a size 16 I felt wonderful. I was still fat. Feel free to search all my other posts, I am sure you will find no fat hating, and certainly not on these weight loss support threads.

So krumbum, assuming you came on to educate us, why was your first post so cryptic? I gave you the benefit of the doubt and assumed you were on the wrong thread.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 13/08/2012 06:41

And do you honestly think that a size 16 is a healthy weight? It will be for a few people, but in general it is overweight.

OP posts:
Tangointhenight · 13/08/2012 07:04

Stealth I don't think you shod change the christmas statement, I dont want to he fat t Christmas that's what got my arse in gear to join this thread so don't apologise.

Why do these people think its I'm to hijack a well meaning thread and impose all their stupid bitterness in it, sounds to me like they have a few hang ups of their own, maybe not but that's exactly what it sounds like.

I'm not a feminist so I couldn't give two flying frigs what krum thinks about social pressures and patriarchy, I want to be thinner and healthier for me, don't see why that's so hard to accept or understand, I'm a ause 6/18 when this time lst year I was a 12/14, that's not a healthy size for me and at the rate the rate in going I will be fat for Christmas and I don't want to be, yes that's right krum I don't want to be fat so stick that in yer pipe!!

Tangointhenight · 13/08/2012 07:04

*size 16/18

StealthPolarBear · 13/08/2012 07:09

Ah Tango I'd disagree with you not being a feminist, I think all intelligent women are even if they don't choose to label themselves in that way.
Glad it inspired you! I know when I put on size 16 jeans and they were a bit loose I felt fantastic! I want everyone to be feeling that by Christmas, whether they're reaching their size 10 goal, or have gone from a 26 to a 22.

OP posts:
Tangointhenight · 13/08/2012 07:19

:)

You're probably right stealth!

Hello everyone! Had a bit of an epic fail yesterday - had a lovely day out with the DCs and took a picnic - all good stuff for me and I didn't have an ice cream or anything. When it came to the evening we were absolutely knackered and just wanted to flop in front of the closing ceremony, so we had Dominos Blush and it tasted so good that I had way too much. Jokingly said to DH that the scales would show 3lb on this morning - guess what? 3lb on from yesterday.
Still, that was yesterday and this is today so it's back on the wagon.

StealthPolarBear · 13/08/2012 08:55

urgh - I know that feeling well :(
Will PM you BTW
