Couldn't get much more inspirational than the title of the first thread. We're doing this for ourselves. No one else outside family really cares if we're size 16 or size 10. No one else really benefits when we're slimmer. We take all the pain but get all the benefits. And it matters, we'll do anything to get there. Seriously assess - are you really doing all you can? Could you maybe cut out a bit more junk or exercise on the days you can't be bothered? If you really are doing all you can, brilliant. the weight will be coming off, slowly but surely. If, like me, you're thinking that maybe you could try a bit harder sign in here for your butt kicking.
do you want to be fat at christmas?

Thanks for the welcomes Smile

Hi Sparky/Bonkey good to see you too. Yes, still chipping away but it's working, slowly but surely. I'm a very awkward 16/14 at the moment and really want to get to a comfortable 14. Then I can buy some new autumn clothes Smile

Size 12 by Christmas? Stranger things have happened . . . Grin

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 12/08/2012 14:34

I feel like have just outed myself Grin

Im aiming for that size 12 too. I have never been a size 12 in my life aol would be happy at a 12.

You can do it. You've come this far :)

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 12/08/2012 14:35

*Never been a sure 10 I was happy at 12

Long day Grin

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 12/08/2012 14:40

theone quarter to 12Shock, I have never slept that late, even when I was out until 4am at a stag do I woke up at 6.30am, and was knackered all the next day. I am a bitEnvy of your ability to sleep late (but I can nap any time for as long as I decide, and wake up refreshed, so I suppose it all evens out).

MilkshakeMaker · 12/08/2012 15:21

I hate anyone that gets any sort of sleep regardless of what time it is, in fact, i'm considering putting ds on ebay just to get a moments kip!

What sort of evening meals does everyone have? I can only seem to think of snacks or meals that wouldnt fill me up...might have been where i was going wrong all along!

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 12/08/2012 15:36

Are you having enough protein in your meals Milkshake ?

I tend to eat a lot of chicken and eggs. A 3 egg omelette with vegies really fills me up and is 300cals.

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 12/08/2012 15:37

And when you say your not full up, are you genuinely still hungry or is it just habit of thinking 'I should have had more?'

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 12/08/2012 15:49

Baked sweet potato,
roasted red pepper,
chilli/bolognese/cottage pie (with cauliflower mash)
Casserole
Soup
Tortilla wraps
I eat quite a variety compared to some on MFP, but I would fail if I had to eat the same few meals over and over.

Oblomov · 12/08/2012 15:54

Bookmarking. Will go back to old thread and read what has been going on , whilst I've been on me 'ols.

HolofernesesHead · 12/08/2012 16:01

Hey, a sparkly new thread! Grin

Well, remarkably, my willpower has held out pretty much okay over the weekend! Dh has just bought a baking book (by Paul Hollywood from 'THe Great British Bake-Off') and is planning to make some croissants. I might have to follow Mary Berry's example and taste just a tiny bit to say 'Yes dear, that's lovely'. Home baking is a big pitfall for me - I bake lots, mostly with the dc, and of course it's all gorgeous and fresh, but....

My aim for Christmas is to have lost 1 and a half stones by then - I'm aiming to lose a stone by the end of Oct, another by the end of Feb, another by the end of May, and another by the end of next Aug. I'm 14 stone now, so the ultimate aim is to be what I was 10 years ago (10 stone). So hopefully by Christmas I'll be around 12 and a half. I told a nurse the other day about this plan and she said 'Yup, that's achievable'. It's going to take a whole lot of willpowre though...Shock but will be so worth it next summer.

redrosette · 12/08/2012 16:11

can i join in?
Have wasted money on loads of diets so I've decided to f*ck the diets and just do it my own way - eat less, move more!
Going to set mini targets. Aiming to get down to 13 stone as my first goal.
waves hello to everyone

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 12/08/2012 16:25

Hi redrosette you sound like you'll fit right inSmile.

TheOneWithTheGoldMedals · 12/08/2012 16:32

I forgot to say thank you to Stealth for the new thread so thank you for that.

Milkshake if it makes you feel better I haven't had the opportunity to sleep like that for years. Ds2 is 3.5 and has never slept through the night apart from the odd few. I don't remember his babyhood at all as I saw the world through a sleep deprived fog for at least his first 2.5yrs. Still do most of the time. Please don't hate me. :)

slothprincess · 12/08/2012 17:06

Thanks for the bright and shiny new thread stealth. Welcome new losers and old friends. Tango, my DH is slim too and eats like a horse. V annoying! He does tend to buy biscuits that I don't really like (is there such a thing!) but even they aren't safe when I'm in the binging zone.

My aim is 11 stone by the end of september and then I'll see from there I think. MrsPnut, I had a lovely Pimms related evening last night too. With diet lemo it's not too much of a diet buster, is it? I've just been to a baby shower this afternoon, which was cake-tastic. I didn't eat a single thing!!!

I'm feeling very sad and worried today because one of my cats is missing :( He's been gone since yesterday and has never stayed out before. Me and DH are quite a miserable pair, which is a shame as it's DH's week off this week and I was so looking forward to some fun family time.

Krumbum · 12/08/2012 17:09

What a horrible thread.

Oblomov · 12/08/2012 17:10

???????

LollipopViolet · 12/08/2012 17:14

What's so horrible about it krumbum? Hmm

Just a group of us with similar weight loss goals giving each other some much needed support.

LollipopViolet · 12/08/2012 17:21

Anyway, my goals:

Feel comfy in a pair of jeans before holiday - pretty much there but it's only one pair of jeans so if I can get some more feeling nice and not cutting off my circulation, it'll be fab.

2 stone off by Christmas - I'm hoping that after the next few pounds the weightloss will be a bit quicker and it'll be doable.

Short term: Not to over-indulge at the wedding I'm going to next month, or on holiday.

Fitness wise I'd like to increase my speed on the treadmill. I can comfortably do an hour at 4.5km/h, but I'd like to gradually get that up to 5.5km/h I think. And be able to do 20 minutes on the cross trainer without feeling like I'll die.

fluffyraggies · 12/08/2012 17:25

Hi and welcome :)

Well, i was fine by half 10 Blush and we've all been to Woburn Safari Park. It was fab and boiling hot! We've had monkeys on the car and stroked the lemurs and seen lions and loads of things :)

I've drunk tonnes of water today. I didn't eat before we left. When we got there we had a picnic. I ate 2 Tesco sarnies, 2 packets of French Fries and had 2 little Mr.Kipling's apple pies. I just kind of thought 'to hell with it' today - but DID resist having an ice cream/lolly with everyone else.

After the above i'm still 175 calories under - hooray!

Will try not to eat anything else today, and then i wont have blown it. Happy, happy.

Oh and at weigh in this morning i'd lost another 1lb. Hurrah Grin

My goal is to get into those skimpy size 12 jeans comfortably asap, then go down some more. I want to get to 10st 5. I was happy at that.

StealthPolarBear · 12/08/2012 17:29

Wow Lollipop they sound like really well thought through goals :)

OP posts:
LollipopViolet · 12/08/2012 17:53

Stealth, I think it's MFP getting inside my brain. A lot of people on there post the fitness type ones, and it'd be nice to achieve those. The jeans thing needs to happen or I'll be in Prague in 3/4 length jeans in September, and it might be cold!

The over-indulgence one might be hardest lol!

Well, today is the first ever day (assuming hunger doesn't hit me suddenly) I'll be below my calories with MFP - feelign very Grin . Weighed myself earlier in the middle of the afternoon, not first thing with nothing on after a big wee, and I was 15st 11 3/4 - that's the lightest I've weighed yet even counting first thing in the morning weigh ins Grin . Got to shift this weight!

I love reading all these goals of people. Mine is to fit in to my pre preg clothes (size 16) and get to around 12 st 7, which is what I weighed pre preg. More would be great, but I'd be happy at 16, and I still have just over 3 stone to go. In the immediate future, I'd like all of my clothes to be big and baggy on me Grin

Krumbum eh?!

archareastie · 12/08/2012 18:45

Oh yes, and I measured my BMI just now - I'm out of morbidly obese and just into regularly obese Hmm Grin - I've dropped 4 points on my BMI score this year

Krumbum · 12/08/2012 19:05

The pretence that it isn't because of outside pressures that make you think you need to lose weight and the sentence 'do you want to be fat at Christmas' .horrible.
