Couldn't get much more inspirational than the title of the first thread. We're doing this for ourselves. No one else outside family really cares if we're size 16 or size 10. No one else really benefits when we're slimmer. We take all the pain but get all the benefits. And it matters, we'll do anything to get there. Seriously assess - are you really doing all you can? Could you maybe cut out a bit more junk or exercise on the days you can't be bothered? If you really are doing all you can, brilliant. the weight will be coming off, slowly but surely. If, like me, you're thinking that maybe you could try a bit harder sign in here for your butt kicking.
do you want to be fat at christmas?

Yeah my dh says as long as dinner's on the table when he gets home and his shirts are ironed for the office, he don't care what I look like.

fluffyraggies · 12/08/2012 20:24

OMG i'd love a boob job stealth!

Some days I think my boobs account for at least 2 stone Grin

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 12/08/2012 20:29

Grin @ Mr Stealth.

Dh promised me a posh dress and a decent night it last time I decided to diet. I wonder if that still stands?

Krumbum · 12/08/2012 20:33

Yes because me saying love yourself is the same as the pressures day in day out from the media, other people eyc constantly saying women must look a certain way Hmm
If you have a health problem then don't use fat hatred to encourage others to lose weight just lose weight til your better.
The fact that some of you are now saying you want plastic surgery completely undermines the idea that it isn't for appearances!

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 12/08/2012 20:35

I've never dieted before possibly how I got to a BMI of 38Blush , DH tells me several times a day how attractive I look, there's no pressure here to look any different.

LollipopViolet · 12/08/2012 20:35

Well, Mr BF has promised me... erm, aaah, hang on, let me think...

Nope, I've got nothin'! Grin

I've promised myself, if I can get down to around 9 or 8 stone, that I'll start wearing more girly clothes, instead of my uniform jeans + t-shirt look.

StealthPolarBear · 12/08/2012 20:36

feel the sarcasm (everyone else got it but you). I wouldnt have a boob job if you paid me, personally, though no issues with other people wanting to.
I was taking the piss
Where is the fat hating? We are all here to lose weight, so asking people if they want to have lost weight byChristmas is presumably a given?

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 12/08/2012 20:38

If it was that easy to "just lose weight", the diet industry would be dead in the water. A lot of people (me included) need support and encouragement to keep up with healthy weight loss.
Krumbum you are turning a good thread sour for me.

LollipopViolet · 12/08/2012 20:42

Ditto IMST. We shouldn't have to justify this thread to anyone.

Back on thread, I'm just about to email my personal trainer lady to ask if she'll take my measurements this week. I will be most annoyed if they've increased, after all my hard work. Actually, scratch that. I'm going to email tomorrow, after my weigh in. If the scale hasn't changed, I'm not sure the tape measure will have.

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 12/08/2012 20:42

I have said it twice and will say it again...bog off Krum .

Right, back to thread, I'm feeling better than I did this morning but have been picking all day, I am praying that the scales stick at the 12st tomorrow. Confused

StealthPolarBear · 12/08/2012 20:43

Was just coming on to say the same thing. Bonkey why did you have to get that thread deleted, I was about to suggest we all moved over - have been looking for it :). I regularly look back at the thread to see my progress and also get inspired and this will not help. If others feel the same I'll start a new thread.

OP posts:
Fairenuff · 12/08/2012 20:43

because me saying love yourself is the same as the pressures day in day out from the media

Yes, actually Krumbum it is. Do you want to know why? I'm sure you do - because you don't know me.

You don't know whether or not I already love myself. You don't know whether I have health concerns. Whether I decide that I need to lose weight so that I don't keel over from a heart attack. If I didn't love myself I am sure I would not care if I dropped dead tomorrow. You seem to be involving yourself in something you know nothing about. What makes you think you can speak for me? What makes you a better person to make decisions which overide mine, about myself? How arrogant!

You don't know my opinions, my political views, my family history, my experiences, my desires, nothing. But you think you are qualified to tell me whether or not I should lose weight.

Who made you Queen of the World. Get off your high horse and take a look in the mirror. Do you love yourself? Am I judging you?

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 12/08/2012 20:44

Lollipop I measured the other day. I have lost no inches but have lost 10lbs in total since I took them.
Don't worry too much just keep doing what your doing, it will come off!

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 12/08/2012 20:44

I saved it, would you like me to start it again? :)

TheLightPassenger · 12/08/2012 20:44

The trigger for me losing weight was being told that I was at high (30%) risk for cardiovascular problems in the next ten years. It's all about the health for me. This is just a laid back thread about us eating less and moving more in whatever way works for us, the thread title is quite misleading, it has moved on a lot from the original post.

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 12/08/2012 20:44

I saved it just in case no one did the next one, not because I'm sad! Grin

Fairenuff · 12/08/2012 20:46

No! Don't start a new thread. Why should one ignorant poster scare everyone away.

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 12/08/2012 20:46

Shall I do it? Unless you want to Stealth ?

I think your right, i don't want to look back on this :(

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 12/08/2012 20:47

X post

Fairenuff · 12/08/2012 20:51

Wait and see Bonkey it could just be a blip. A timely reminder that what we are doing, we are doing for ourselves. No matter what crap comes our way, we can rise above it. All part of the process. Solidarity!

Krumbum · 12/08/2012 21:01

Lol, I said I was off and then loads of posters asked me questions! And then moaned that I didn't answer!
I didnt say don't lose weight, I said don't do it for the wrong reasons. There is a huge amount of pressure on women to look a certain way and pressuring each other is not going to help that. It's sexist clap trap (often thinly veiled as 'health').
Using fat hatred language is not supportive or progressive.

Krumbum · 12/08/2012 21:02

It's funny that me having a differing opinion makes you want to delete the thread! Never seen that happen with other threads before.

MilkshakeMaker · 12/08/2012 21:02

I wouldn't say no to a boob job, not implants but a lift would finally let me be able to see my knees! Grin

I'm also hoping for at least a maintain in the morning

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 12/08/2012 21:04

Krum Its because this is (was before you came along) a happy supportive thread, alot of people with the same sort of goals.

You just seem to want to bring everyone down. Are you bored?

Fairenuff · 12/08/2012 21:05

I didnt say don't lose weight, I said don't do it for the wrong reasons

But what makes you think you know my reasons. And what makes you think you can tell me what to do? Go on, do enlighten me as to why I should listen to you, oh oracle. You must be pretty special to think you know what's best for me.
