If you've poked your head around the door of this thread then please read ourOld Thread, read all the posts, all the links and the links within links and then jump in with both feet to a new, better Way Of Eating (WOE)

Roll Up, Roll Up for the all new, amazing thread for those of us who are trying to eat good, healthy, natural foods while counting our calories and eating LOADS!

We had some brilliant successes on the last thread - inches AND pounds lost and lots of people feeling happier, calmer and more focussed on their goals.

Remember that this is NOT a DIET, it is a healthy way of eating. You will NOT lose 5lbs a week - you might even GAIN weight in the first weeks!

I'm still here!

quirkychick · 08/07/2012 14:57

I'm here too MrsMango. I haven't got a fitbit so I can't answer your question!

knitknack · 08/07/2012 15:32

I'd love one but don't have one either sorry, I am listening though :)

ShirleyKnot · 08/07/2012 15:51

Argh! Still here! I can't help with the fit it stuff though.

TobyLerone · 08/07/2012 16:09

I'm here. Watching the tennis. Eek!

MinnieBar · 08/07/2012 16:12

Still here. Trying to kick start my eating again today - lots of relatively minor things have been making life stressy recently and the physical consequences seem to be going straight to my stomach IYKWIM. Sadly without any weight loss as I also stress eat!

Anyway it's all been sadly put into context with the news this week sticks two fingers up at PITA tenants

MrsMangoBiscuit · 08/07/2012 16:16

Phew! Thought I'd killed it. I don't think Shirley would be best pleased with me if I did! Grin I've been reading the fitbit forums, and the MFP forums, and I'm still not sure if I can set it up to work it out properly for me, so I might just resort to using excel for a quick check. At least I won't be covering my desk with bits of scribbled on paper. Blush

Hope you're feeling better Shirley.

HearMyRoar · 08/07/2012 19:23

Hello all. Do take it easy Shirly or you will just end up feeling ill for longer. Have chicken soup and think healthy thoughts :)

Been rubbish with MDP recently and not logged my eating for ages, it just takes sooooo long. However I have been trying to keep up the healthy eating and don't think I have been going massively off my goal intake.

I did a weigh in and measure today. The weight doesn't really mean much as my scales and astonishingly inacurate (I only bought them to weigh a parcel I needed to send so got the cheapest available ones on the market...and I mean really cheap) but after going up and down a bit I think I have lost about a poundish. More excitingly I have also lost an inch off my hips and waist! Yay! I am rather pleased with this considering I have only been doing it for 3 weeks and have hardly been militant about it. :o

Hopefully · 08/07/2012 22:37

Argh, have had a few good days, but dropped a kitchen knife on my toe this evening. Brief trip to a&e and a few butterfly stitches later (really teeny weeny pathetic wound, but it wouldn't close as it was on my toe knuckle, and tendon and bone were visible. Bleurgh. Apologies for grossness) and no exercise for me for a few days.

It's going to be really hard as I'm so used to the 500+ extra calories I get from Insanity/walking miles every day. I'm going to be hungry for a day or two.

hearmyroar well done on the inch loss! Great job.

BsshBossh · 10/07/2012 20:53

Hello all. I've been eating at 1800 for two weeks now. More on exercise days. For the first week I really struggled to increase the calories but in my second week no such hardship Grin - it's easy to eat all my calories now; in fact my stomach growls more frequently these days and I could actually eat more. I think my metabolism is revving up and getting used to more food, which is good. I haven't weighed myself yet but my clothes are all looser and my DH keeps commenting on how I look tauter - especially around my waist. Hurrah! I love eating!

quirkychick · 10/07/2012 21:00

Well done, BsshBossh! My dp is quite appreciative too.

Hopefully how's your toe?

Well, I am eating more calories and more fat and have lost 6lbs quite steadily. I got into some jogging bottoms and a sport's bra from pre-dcs on Saturday.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 12/07/2012 00:00

Hopefully - ouch on the toe! My aunt did that a few years ago and her foot got really nastily infected, fingers crossed that yours heals nicely.

Bssh well done :)

quirky 6lbs is great, especially if inch loss is also happening.

I've got back into the swing of things in the last couple of days. Exercise is going well and I'm hitting my 2000 goal without really needing to count.
Have discovered that eating a square of dark chocolate with 3 or 4 dried apricots and a cup of tea makes a very satisfying afternoon snack and means I don't hoover up the DCs leftovers from tea time.
Very small reduction in waist measurement has happened, just half an inch but my clothes do feel loser.

BsshBossh · 13/07/2012 08:25

Okay, so nearly 3 weeks of EMTWL and I've lost 18lbs! Now alot of that is water, I know, but still - hurrah! I'm back where I was when I lost 3 stones last year on Paul McKenna (but then fell ill and stopped watching what I ate). Can't believe I'm eating so much - doesn't feel like a diet at all (like PMcK). I'm going to continue eating 1800 cals plus a bit extra to account for exercise. I've recalculated my TDEE and am still eating at 15% cut.

I think swimming has really helped as I can feel it stretching out all my muscles as I swim and my stomach is much flatter now compared to when I was running.

Right, so from experience I know weight loss won't be so dramatic moving forwards but onwards and hopefully downwards from now on :)

BsshBossh · 13/07/2012 09:35

Correction: I started MFP and EMTWL on 1st June, so 18lbs lost in 1.5 months not 3 weeks!

TobyLerone · 13/07/2012 09:47

Well done! That's amazing.

I absolutely suck lately. Everything is so hectic that I'm not logging anything I'm eating and I'm not getting to the gym as much as I would like. However, next Friday is my last day of work, and then I'm on holiday for a week and after that I'm back on it with a vengeance!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 13/07/2012 11:11

Bssh that is awesome!

The scales are being quite stubborn here, however I can see that I am smoothing out and my clothes are looking and feeling better.

Toby - you finishing work has come around quickly! Grin

We are off to MIL and step-FIL for the weekend, which I'm really looking forward to, but they tend towards the high-carb end of eating! I have just done L2 Shred to try and get in a pre-emptive strike, and I'm going to be philosophical about it and not worry too much provided I don't go over TDEE (which with BFing is close to 2600 so I should be able to stick to that!).

Have a good weekend everyone :)

ShirleyKnot · 13/07/2012 11:13

Bosh!

OMG! Congratulations and GREAT WORK!

Argh - I am also hopeless. Going to Florida on holiday on Wednesday so will continue to be hopeless until I get back.

OP posts:
TobyLerone · 13/07/2012 11:34

We'll be hopeless together for another couple of weeks, then, Shirl.

Have a fab time!

Envy
ShirleyKnot · 13/07/2012 11:57

I am probably going to put on 18lbs.

OP posts:
ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 13/07/2012 12:51

Ah yes but it'll be all water Grin.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 13/07/2012 13:13

Shirl you will still be thinner than all the Americans Grin

TobyLerone · 13/07/2012 13:16

:o

Major diet cock up here. Has a low calorie day (no deprivation, just busy), then went for a 6 mile run. I now need to eat 1200 calories before bed Shock. And the cake doesn't look appealing.

Am trying a large bowlful of wasabi peas.

ShirleyKnot · 15/07/2012 21:54

Oh! I've done that before! Nightmare.
