If you've poked your head around the door of this thread then please read ourOld Thread, read all the posts, all the links and the links within links and then jump in with both feet to a new, better Way Of Eating (WOE)

Roll Up, Roll Up for the all new, amazing thread for those of us who are trying to eat good, healthy, natural foods while counting our calories and eating LOADS!

We had some brilliant successes on the last thread - inches AND pounds lost and lots of people feeling happier, calmer and more focussed on their goals.

Remember that this is NOT a DIET, it is a healthy way of eating. You will NOT lose 5lbs a week - you might even GAIN weight in the first weeks!

Argh, my food has been shite lately!

Just had pizza and wedges for tea Blush we are out of healthy foods again and DH decided to injure his back so we haven't been able to get to shops today. I'm not enjoying these foods much any more anyway. Tonight I'm going to do a mega shopping list to cover all meals and hope we can get to the supermarket tomorrow.

I need to eat a lot cleaner, with fresh ingredients. I want to enjoy preparing and eating food again. Does anyone have any favourite recipes I could try?

DD2 age 4 has just made a new version of the national anthem, replacing the word Queen with bottom Grin hope she doesn't sing it at school tomorrow!

Seventh no, I normally have no problem ever eating my calories (I am gluttony personified Wink) but I am just not particularly hungry today which is unusual for me!

Have just had a small bowl of Shreddies as a snack - am missing my DS1 who has gone to a friends to play this afternoon - he is my football-watching buddy and it is not the same without him!

Muddled, could you place an online order for delivery tomorrow? I know it's short notice, but if you try the different supermarkets you can sometimes find a next-day delivery slot.
We're having roast beef tonight with potatoes boulangere (can't find the accent key) - easypeasy, low fat and scrummy potatoes. Just scrub, slice and layer them alternatively in a greased dish with chopped onions and seasoning. Pour over 1/4pt of milk and some beef stock to cover, then cook for about 45 mins at 180.
We don't often have a 'meat and two veg' meal but DH went shopping yesterday

Sorry seventh, meant to ask if everything is okay? Fingers crossed the rain stops soon and the water goes down.

Shotgun, those potatoes sound gorgeous! Will give those a try thank you. I reckon DH will be okay to drive tomorrow, I'll just have to do all the trolley pushing and lifting of bags- it'll be as good as a workout! I'm just so fed up of eating the same food all the time.

I'm redecorating the girls' room, so today I have been up and down the ladder, shifting furniture, stretching to paint the ceiling- who needs a gym?! Grin

I'm going to do a meal plan for the rest of the week tomorrow - I can post it here if it will help?

How many pages on the last thread and I've only just realised that 'WOE' stands for Way Of Eating and not, in fact, woe-as-in-sadness

We're on holiday this week (although it hasn't stopped bloody raining, grrr) so I'm trying to strike the balance between enjoying holiday treats and not falling off the wagon completely. Fortunately there aren't any scales here Grin

Ideally I need to break the association of food as being my main treat in life, but I can't afford the therapy? Wink

Thank you! I will start to log tomorrow and then when I get paid on Friday I'll order stuff to start making all my nice things!

I must admit I can't quite get my head around eating lots but I will try!

I'm with SE, how on earth do you all manage to struggle to fill your calories? I can understand those that are totally sugar free, but today I have made healthy-wholefood-good-for-you cookies and muffins (made with honey, full of pumpkin, seeds, pure cocoa nibs etc), and one of those is about 350 calories! I can easily have 500 cals per meal, so 1500 plus one snack is already 1800, and I can easily manage two snacks a day and one more for pudding after dinner too, so if I do exercise I always have plenty of opportunities to eat! I am clearly very very greedy Grin.

We are running really low on food, and planned food shop for this evening has been postponed due to DH needing to be brought home from work in a friends 4x4 after the road flooded badly. I live very near SE, it is a nightmare round here today, lots of closed roads, slow traffic and drains pouring water all over the road. It has been raining for all of 18 hours Hmm. I'm hoping that I can limp through with fridge oatmeal for breakfast and mackerel on toast for lunch (and aforementioned healthy snacks) and get out for a food shop in the evening tomorrow.

Shirley I always want to run screaming onto those 'strict' diet threads and scream "no no no no, if you put it all on again doing this, why do you think doing exactly the same thing again will be different?" Also no need to suffer so much - it is perfectly possible to totally change your body size and shape without any major deprivation beyond turning down the occasional slice of cake or second portion of pudding.

I have nearly 700 cals left, Hopefully. I followed your earlier advice and put in my meals first to get my macros. The main thing is I have done loads of walking so my net has come down massively. I could eat some of the ice-cream in the freezer but think that would up my fats and sugar!

Dp had a healthcheck today and thinks oir scales are out by half a stone. So we will probably get new ones and all miraculously lose weight!

Fingers crossed for everyone with rising water.

Wow everyone! A new thread and already page 2. I can't keep up.

Can I just say, some of you sound so amazing. I mean Shirley you do so so much exercise a week, wow!
Shotgun, I would love to be your weight at my height 5'6". I am about 166ish lbs and would like to lose a couple of dress sizes. I don't know what weight I should be aiming for - can anyone help me with that?

Shotgun, thanks for your offer of help re PnotP. That would be great. I will pm you but at the moment I'm just generally confused about where to start if you know what I mean.
I also can't have nuts and eggs and various lots of other things in the house due to DD's severe allergies so am still a bit stuck for breakfast suggestions. I think the idea for the yogurt and fruits is a good one, but I think I'd be like you and be hungry an hour or so later.

Toby, the Covent Garden store has some of the fuel bands so I'm going to ask my sister to get me one so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they still have some left when she can get there.

For what it's worth, I am eating more now than I have done in about 3 years and even though I do feel a little bit bigger(my jeans are a little more snug), but I feel SO MUCH BETTER. And, I'm not sure if I've developed biscuit glasses, but my twice c-section pouch is looking a wee bit smaller. I wake up with more oomph tooo which for me is truly amazing.

I am still eating far too many bad carbs mainly in the form of biscuits chocolate and sugar in coffee so will try and work on that as well as upping my protein.

Well Done to everyone who's lost weight or inches and Seventh, fingers crossed your area is ok and that the amount of rain and water levels go down.

Take care all xxx

Toby I forgot to bold your name. sorry.

What does the fuel band say today? Any pleasant surprises?

Shirley, yes please post your meal plan for me I'm in desperate need of inspiration!

We are saved though as there are chicken breasts lurking in the freezer so can use those for tea tomorrow. Will probably end up doing an online shop now.

I need some healthy snack ideas too as my snacks largely consist of green and black's and French set yoghurt which isn't ideal!

Report
ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 11/06/2012 19:56

I agree with everyone who thinks it's easy to get to the maximum cals - although mine are a bit lower than some.

Even so, on holiday last week I didn't by any means feel as if I was stuffing myself but I easily went over 2000 most days.

I think it's because I've learnt that I really struggle on a light breakfast, so I've already clocked up a few hundred straight away.

Then the bedtime spud habit takes up quite a few more!

Evening all,

Just checking in. A bit concerned about the discussion earlier re exercise and getting back to net weight. I think I've been doing it wrong.

Went totally off book this weekend and ate roast lamb, potatoes, chinese takeaway and a fry up and it was bloody lovely Grin. I have stayed off the sugar and white carbs, though.

Today I have been out most of the day and unable to eat a proper meal so have totally overdone the dried apricots and macadamias. My diary is too shameful to record, and I can't be too far away from the loo I KNOW, I KNOW, TMI.

Addicted, just have a warm drink and a small bit of cake. It won't do any harm to go a teensy bit over for one day.

I'm sorry DD1 is not sleeping, is she poorly or just going through that rough bedtime phase? I sympathise (unMN hug) I have 2 Daughters as well, with a 12 month age gap so know it can be tough at times. It gets easier as they get older, honest!

Nightmare. I've just got in from the gym, I did a step class and body pump and burned 1300 sodding calories, which brings my net to BLOODY 96!

ARGH! So, I'm going to eat a bag of cashews and an innocent smoothie and a yoghurt and some cottage chees.

I don't wanna!!!

Will catch up with thread now, needed that moan first! Wink
