I've re-joined after being away for over two years.

First meeting is tomorrow!!

I really really want to lose weight

Best of luck OP Smile

ThatVikRinA22 · 02/01/2012 23:36

i want to join on line but it all looks so bloody complicated now????

when i did it i got 18 points a day. now you have 29? it all looks tooooo hard!

explain it to me and i might do it....
ive just dug all my stuff out from old, was going to just follow the old plan on my lonesome.

but am more than willing to join if its not a hard as it looks now....it doesnt take much to confuse me. i liked the old points system

CraftyKnickers · 02/01/2012 23:40

I haven't looked at what the new system is, I will learn tomorrow at my first meeting but apparently the points are worked out more fairly.

They take into consideration carbs and proteins rather than just fats and calories.

If your doing it at home and not going to a meeting I can't see why you can't do the old system but equally I shouldn't think the new one is too hard to adjust to.

There are loads of threads about weight watchers have a search through them?

When I've got my head around it I will be happy to help.

ThatVikRinA22 · 02/01/2012 23:45

cheers....

when you find out will you explain it to me?

i was just gonna do the old one for now, but i run out of ideas after a while. i could really do to join properly, ive only got a stone to lose,

ive just dug all my old stuff out, and the magazines i have collected over the years.

custardismyhamster · 02/01/2012 23:48

It's basically the same as it was before, BUT the points are different (so you'd need the books or online tracker, to keep track)

Things tend to be more points BUT you get more points and all fruit is now free, as is most of your veg (I know most of your veg always was)

So it's sort of healthier because you can eat plenty of fruit and veg as snacks without using up points. Everyone gets 29 points a day (some do get more but it's rare!) and 49 weekly points, which you can use a few a day, all at once or non at all if you want. They are there as emergency points so if you have a takeaway or go over one day you don't think 'sod it' and carry on eating crap, you use some of your weekly points and get back on it

Marks place on thread Grin waves like a loon I'm in! I joined online through quidco so got 3 months for £31.95 with £30.00 cash back! So £1.95 to go!

I did get on well with previous ww and normal would do sw, but now fruit is free! I'm sure I won't be hungry (prob last time!)

My downfall will be drinkSad I love a cheeky mid week glass or three Grin but this is the year I will lose weight and keep it off!

I have 3.5 stone to go so here for a while! Would love any low point ideas for meals so far I've been doing home made soup and fairly low carb.... It's going to take me a while to get into it!

The iPhone app if you join online is quite good really! Tis a free app if you are an online subscriber!Grin

dobby2001 · 03/01/2012 00:50

Link to the £30 cashback if anyone interested Grin www.quidco.com/user/139890/83982/weightwatchers

ThatVikRinA22 · 03/01/2012 01:03

very interested thanks dobby! was gonna look at this today but didnt get time to register. cheers for that!

custardismyhamster · 03/01/2012 12:36

Oh drat, drat, I wish I'd known about the quidco thing before I joined (fool!)

The iphone app, will it work on my ipod?

OP posts:
Peppapigsarse · 03/01/2012 21:29

Yup should do custardismyhamster

custardismyhamster · 03/01/2012 21:44

Cool I will download then at some point.

Well today I've stuck to points 100%, and done an hour in the gym. Tomorrows menu is as follows:

Breakfast-Belvita Biscuits, Weight Watchers Rice Pudding, Melon, Pomegranete and Mandarin Segments (to be nibbled at through the morning at my desk!)

Lunch-Lettuce, carrot, with 2 teaspoons of honey and mustard dressing and croutons. Apple, pear and grapes

Tea-Chicken breast fried in 1teaspoon garlic oil, and rice.

And an hour in the gym

Hi, I just tried to use the quidco £30 cashback thingy (thank you, how brilliant!) but it gives you the voucher code to use at 'checkout' once you have registered with Weightwatchers online, i've got to the payment part where my i give my card details and there still hasnt been a promotion section for me to add the code. So i'm wondering what I am doing wrong? Confused

Can anyone help please? Smile
Thanks.

KnockedUpMell · 04/01/2012 08:21

Can I join please??! Lost a lot of weight with WW old points system, then got pregnant and completely pigged out during pregnancy. Have about a stone to lose before I get to pre-pregnancy weight. DS1 is now coming up to 10 months, and I'd really like a lose most of it before his first birthday.

I found the new pro points system really daunting initially and that's my excuse for why I have been putting off re-joining for a while Grin. But am now enjoying fruit being free and have started to forget the old points values of food, so I find it less confusing now.

custardismyhamster · 04/01/2012 10:08

Hooray I feel very motivated now there's a few of us. How are we all doing today?

ThatVikRinA22 · 04/01/2012 10:53

im still too scared to do it....
ive dug out all my old stuff, just going to do a shop now, if i get a good loss this week i will stick to the old system i think. if not - ill rejoin!

i want 10lb off. i keep telling myself thats not that hard to do...but i start proper tomorrow when the shopping arrives!

ThatVikRinA22 · 04/01/2012 10:55

if you manage it stellsie please update on here....if it works i may well take the plunge. cant go wrong for a pound can i?

Blatherskite · 04/01/2012 14:38

Rejoined today. Wish I'd known about the quidco thing earlier!

Peppapigsarse · 04/01/2012 15:40

What weighing day has everyone gone for? Mines Sunday!

Blatherskite · 04/01/2012 16:22

Monday. It'll give me a boost at the star of the week when I'm feeling most lazy

devilsadvocaat · 04/01/2012 16:33

Mine is Monday.

I've wi this week at 10st 11 after gettin down to 10st 6 before Christmas!

Oh well. Have found sticking to 26 daily hard this week. My body wants sugar!

ThatVikRinA22 · 04/01/2012 18:42

devilsadvocaat - snap!

im starting tomorrow. but i took a sneaky peak the other day and w i at the same as you.

i was also 10 6 before xmas! im gonna w i tomorrow morning and use that as my start weight. got my meals planned for tomorrow...(and the week) and ive done a shop online today which includes no wine! if i dont have it i cant drink it...and its always my downfall!

Blatherskite · 04/01/2012 20:37

I got down to 9st 3 before Christmas but as 9st 8 now.

I'm only 5'1" so my ideal weight range is 7st 6 to 9st 6 and I'm currently overweight. I want to get to 8st 7 as a nice middle point of the weight range. I was up round 11 stone after my second child was born so I've done OK so far, I just want to get rid of my tummy which seems to be hanging on for dear life.

custardismyhamster · 04/01/2012 21:29

Thats good blatherskite, not TOO far to go, you'll do it.

I weigh in Monday evening. Start weight was 13st 3.5lbs (I am embarassed, goal is 9st 7lbs)

Grrr, typed a huge post and MN goes down. Typical!

Anyway. I joined online on Monday, gutted I didn't check quidco first though.

I joined last year, but just classes and found it far too complicated. Finding the online version so much easier. I have the books if anyone wants them, not sure they would be much good though as I don't think it tells you how many points you need. Sure we can find a way round that though.

You can't get the WW app on an android phone but there is a points calculator. Thinking of emailing Ww anyway and asking them if they are going to get one. DH has an Iphone so have downloaded the WW app, and it is pretty impressive.

I have a huge amount of weight to lose, and really need to do it. Sick of being the fat bird.

WI is Monday, so shall see. how I've done.

ThatVikRinA22 · 05/01/2012 12:24

wi today, as starting today.

10st 11. watch this space. im still not sure whether to join or just buy the magazine and use all my old stuff....

what is the consensus? is it worth it? did anyone work out how to get the quidco money back?
