I WILL lose weight now. Anyone up for doing this with me and having a nice safe threat to bore the pants off everyone share our progress?

hi kinky

i think my first goal will be 10stone. that would be nice for now! so 10lb off for now.
then i may think about going for another 7. i once got to 9st 7 and goal weight at WW....

i swear to god if i ever get back to that i will be so bloody careful - i will never put it on like this again.
good thing is now i run so if i get it off, i will, i hope, find it easier to keep off - i havent gained weight in years, but i took my eye off the ball.

anyway. first goal is 10stone so 11 pounds to loose.

KinkyDorito · 07/01/2012 14:31

I would think the running really helps. I've always wanted to have a go at it. I've just downloaded the couch to 5k podcast and might have a crack at it... I have to get my confidence up though as I'm very heavy at the minute and I live where I teach teenagers, so they're always about on the prowl.

I always remember braving the gym after I'd had DS. I was very heavy then. I went in during the day, not realising that Year 11, including all 30 of my form group, had permission to use the gym during PE lessons. That was LOVELY. They all sat on the reclining bikes reading magazines and watching me narrowly avoid a heart attack.

I really want to run. I really don't want them to see me doing it.

Well! I spent most of yesterday in absolute agony. Obviously Zumba or any form of excecise is bad for me, pulled a muscle in my neck and shoulder and was up from 2am. Not to be defeated though!

My blasted mother is a feeder, will not take no fior an answer and forced me to eat a slice of victoria sponge cake. Was very nice, but YIKES 10 points. So going to have a point free salad for my tea tonight with lots of pickled onions and gherkins.

Pip well done on your loss so far, that is a great amount.

I got the munchies last night, had a crunchie which was only 5 points, quite surprised at that.

piprabbit · 07/01/2012 15:09

Thanks 5inthebed, I hope your pulled muscle recovery quickly.
I must admit the hardest thing with WW is how apparently similar items can have really different points value - means I can't just assume that I'm counting right. Christmas was hard too, eating lovely food, homemade by other people. You can't go around asking people about their cooking...what's in the stuffing? how do you cook your turkey? what's the recipe for your cake? How many slices do you get out of that? I just gave up and took a WW holiday in the end.

Blatherskite · 07/01/2012 15:12

Apart from yesterday, I've stayed within my daily allowance. I haven't touched my weekly allowance or my built up activity allowance and yesterday was only 2 points - so why when I had a sneaky check on the scales have I put on 1lb!!! Sad

I'm feeling really demoralised today. I've got official weigh in on Monday and I'm dreading it being higher than my start weight. I certainly feel like I'm eating less so surely I should be going down not up!?

KinkyDorito · 07/01/2012 15:16

Have you been drinking a lot of water?

devilsadvocaat · 07/01/2012 15:17

Yes I didn't point over the holidays either. Wish I'd been a little more careful though.

I hate the pressure on from others to just have a bit. As if being weak willed isn't enough to contend with!

I'm going to be over my points this week, roll on Monday...

devilsadvocaat · 07/01/2012 15:19

My second week, I didn't lose even though I'd been really good, then 3rd week I lost 3 pounds. Sometimes it goes like that.

Are you due on?

piprabbit · 07/01/2012 15:22

Blatherkite, don't feel bad, you can't take sneaky peaks seriously. There might be a good reason for a bit of gain (water retention, hormones, speed of digestion etc.) which may well have gone by Monday. Even if it doesn't go on Monday, you well find that your body plays catch up next week and you lose more than you expect at the end of following week.
You are doing the right thing and it will pay off in the long run.

5inthebed · 07/01/2012 15:27

Blathers, did you weight yourself at a different time or on a different set of scales?

I always weigh myself at the same time, with the same clothes on (and without my glasses because they add weight ;) )

Blatherskite · 07/01/2012 15:41

Same scales, same time of day, not due on (although I am probably mid cycle this week) and not drinking loads of water (I think that's one of my problems food-wise, I don't drink enough so eat to stay hydrated) I maybe had a little more than usual but still no where near 8 glasses they they want you to have. I always weigh myself first thing in the morning too so I hadn't drunk anything since last night as usual and was wearing PJs as normal.

Been good so far today but it has been harder to stay motivated

5inthebed · 07/01/2012 16:05

Bit of a TMI question, but how are you bowel wise? I have found I am slightly constipated, probably because I am not eating as much as I usually would.

Blatherskite · 07/01/2012 16:22

Maybe a little but I took some senokot last night as I was feeling a bit bloated. Reduction in food has definitely slowed things down although I'm eating much more fruit and veg than normal.

piprabbit · 07/01/2012 16:25

If you are lucky you will do a giant poo just before WI.
If you are unlucky, it will be just after WI.
Grin.

5inthebed · 07/01/2012 16:32

Grin Pip

Blatherskite · 07/01/2012 21:18

Dh is sat next to me eating chocolates. Bastard. I am being strong though

ThatVikRinA22 · 07/01/2012 21:48

i am feeling quite ok so far! amazingly - will ppwer staying strong - not even opened the wine!

KinkyDorito · 07/01/2012 22:13

Blather I feel your pain. DH has systematically worked through Christmas cake, chocolates, liquorice allsorts and red wine. He's tall and lanky and can eat anything. So much for solidarity Grin.

KnockedUpMell · 07/01/2012 23:07

Wi day tomorrow! Keeping my fingers crossed.... Have just gone over my weekly allowance by a couple of points so the scales should be moving.....

I had started on the 30 day shred last week, but hurt so badly after day 3, I took a one day break (which has now turned into a 3 day break)..... Anyone want to join me on this one??

ThatVikRinA22 · 07/01/2012 23:28

i still have xmas chocs left....i am resisting!

Peppapigsarse · 08/01/2012 07:29

Well despite having a fair few voddies last night and fri I managed to stay in points and loss this week 6.5lbs! Tis first week doing it properly!!!!Wink

KinkyDorito · 08/01/2012 10:05

I remember those 3 days I did the Shred, stopped for a rest, and that was in May... Grin

I will have another go at it Confused. I remember how close to death I felt on the first run through.

KinkyDorito · 08/01/2012 10:05

6.5lbs is a fantastic loss! Massive congratulations and very well done Peppa.

5inthebed · 08/01/2012 10:21

Well done Peppa, great loss!

WI tomorrow for me

KnockedUpMell · 08/01/2012 10:47

Wow peppa, that's amazing! I'm down too- by 2.4lbGrin. Am proudly wearing the trousers I got at LAST YEARS SALE that I can finally fit into! :) perhaps this justifies finally hitting the sales this year??

dorito I fear my break from the shred will keep getting longer if I'm not careful... Unfortunately we're out all day today and will be difficult to do it today. Resolving to do it at least every weekday starting tomorrow.
