I WILL lose weight now. Anyone up for doing this with me and having a nice safe threat to bore the pants off everyone share our progress?

It opens tomorrow. DS is very excited.

It's his pizza Express party today. I've just looked up my favourite pizza - this is not going to be a good day!

Lozislovely · 15/03/2012 20:24

Blathers - Pizza Express, a girl after my own heart and I am now seriously craving pizza aaarrrggghhh lol.

Still I haven't touched my weeklies yet so maybe I will treat myself at the weekend.

Been v. bad today, just so so hungry. Popped to Morrisons at lunch, chicken tikka roll from the deli, chicken breast from the hot counter and a two finger kit kat, ooops Blush

alypoole · 16/03/2012 18:39

Hi all,

Well after the 1st weigh in I lost 2 pounds which is what I'd hoped for. Still finding it very restrictive and still haven't started tracking-n must get my head round that. Amazed that you even have to count things like tomato sauce!!!!!!!!!!

Ben10HasFinallyLeftTheBuilding · 16/03/2012 19:28

well done alypoole. I don't count oil, ketchup or marge. I use it sparingly and I just couldn't be bothered to track it. I do track all day though. I use my android app which works perfectly for me. Have used the ww online and iphone/ipad apps for dh too which i like.

Enjoy Legoland Blathers :)

Blatherskite · 16/03/2012 21:48

Going to WI tomorrow then take the weekend off and hope for the best.

After pizza yesterday and letting DS talk us into KFC tonight, I'm not getting off to a good start already though!

Lozislovely · 19/03/2012 19:13

Blathers - hope the weigh in went well??

STS this week, though I didn't do any exercise last week as I was feeling so I'll. Back on it tomorrow (got to work off the Asda Indian I had tonight Grin)

Hope everyone else is doing ok. I've realised that I always seem to get to a 5lb loss and it all falls apart. Determined this time not to let that happen!!!!!

Ben10HasFinallyLeftTheBuilding · 19/03/2012 19:46

Urgh

1lb gain. No BM again though. Surgery next Monday so will have a gap between WI now. Hopefully all will resolve itself then. Not sure that the marmalade cake I cooked with real butter will help my cause Grin

Blatherskite · 19/03/2012 20:05

1lb gain here too - but then as I spent 4 days eating pretty much whatever I wanted and without much choice past 'x and chips' and no diet drinks at all at Legoland, I still think that was pretty good.

Back on the wagon now though and doing well today

Lozislovely · 19/03/2012 21:34

Done good Ben10 and Blathers given the temptation this week.

Am feeling proper peed off but know I seriously need to get my arse into gear. 26pp so darn hard unless I go to bed at 8pm Sad

Have started on porridge for breakfast which is def making a difference but finding it tough to get through the rest of the day.

Been looking up veggie recipes in the hope I can fill up without going over my allowance!

Ben10HasFinallyLeftTheBuilding · 20/03/2012 07:26

Yesterday I had 2 gingerbread men, 1 2 horrid spring rolls from asda's markdown yellow stickies then made my cake which I had far too much of. I felt so sick, I had to make myself sick as I am never naturallt sick unless I eat prawns and then I think I'm going to die or morphine. It felt horrid though as if I was doing it just to "purge". I wasn't, I just felt sick, but still felt strange.

GravityDefier · 20/03/2012 11:57

I didn't have a good week at all and gained 400g :(

My birthday is coming up next week so that won't be good either.
And I had wanted to lose another 8 kilos till the end of May, that looks totally unrealistic now, I am just too slow and have too many bad weeks.

Lozislovely · 20/03/2012 18:22

Gravity - know that feeling. Found myself adding up the points for dinner tonight and thinking wtf, I feed my kids more than this!!!! I am really struggling to accept that sticking to points, exercising and not using all my weeklies is making me stay the same or put on. It makes me want to reach for a bottle of wine and box of chocolates Wink

Going to do 40 minutes in the bike tonight and hopefully every night this week to see if it helps at all. Wish I could get back into running but suffer with my back and knees so don't want to risk it.

Keep going gravity, you know deep down that it will be worth it, even if it doesn't feel like it right now.

Lozislovely · 20/03/2012 20:17

Quick q for you all.....

I use the online WW app and don't go to meetings so don't have the current support books/pp point books etc.

Now if I enter say, Jaffa Cakes into the points calculator it tells me that they are 1pp. If I put in 2 Jaffa Cakes it tells me that they add up to 3pp. Maths was never my strong point but I'm pretty sure 1+1=2! So why does the app give me a higher total??????

GravityDefier · 20/03/2012 20:34

I think it's because there are no half points. So 1 Jaffa cake might be 1.3 points, calculated as 1.
But two would then be 2.6, counted as 3.

And thank you for your support, I think I just need to get back into it. It's tempting to just give up just now, with the birthday coming up and all. but I know thats stupid, I just really need to get back into it. I'll try and go swimming tomorrow.

Lozislovely · 20/03/2012 21:13

I just near killed myself on the bike for 8pp which I'm already eating my way through as a reward!!! It was such an effort to stay on after 10 minutes, thank god for being able to channel hop in front of the tv.

How dare WW make things 1.3 points - would adding the items completely separately be cheating Wink

GravityDefier · 20/03/2012 21:14

I think it might be... but if I don't know the overall calories I often just calculate single items.

(Not sure jaffa cakes are 1.3 points, it was just a random number I picked. Hope it makes sense)

Blatherskite · 20/03/2012 21:34

I'm really struggling to get back on the wagon after having my days off. Had pizza tonight which will have put me way over. Really need to get back on track!

Ben10HasFinallyLeftTheBuilding · 21/03/2012 05:37

I had pizza too. I had 28 points of Papa Johns. Blush That puts me 12 over for the day. And I did no exercise for the past two days either as my pain has been too high. I'm very close to not tracking this week but I know that it won't do me any good to do that. Sounds like we are all struggling this week.

Lozislovely · 21/03/2012 21:01

Pants, pants, pants.... Crap day, over on points, no exercise AND I've started on the wine Blush

Blatherskite · 21/03/2012 22:07

Been really strict with myself today. 1 point under, lots to drink and I managed my first run in well over 6 months. Only did 2.5k but I did it all without stopping and even managed to sprint the last bit!

Lozislovely · 22/03/2012 07:52

Well done Blathers!!! You have inspired me to try and be good today Grin

Blatherskite · 22/03/2012 13:02

Going OK today so far...

Needed post exercise carbs but restricted myself to just 1 hot cross bun for breakfast this morning so not too much damage done.

Lunch has been some M&S sushi and a huge bowl of fruit - with a coke Zero Blush

Fancy some more exercise but am worried that pushing too hard too soon could leave me open to tonsillitis returning (doc thinks I'm not catching it repeatedly, just getting repeated attacks of the same bug that's never getting killed off properly) so I'm going to have a day off and try another run tomorrow instead. Got enough on dealing with a terrible toddler at the moment anyway, DD is being a total monster this week!

Plan for dinner is home made kebabs. Not worked out the points yet but I'm hoping that as its mostly pitta bread, salad and lean lamb mince, it might not be too bad...

Ben10HasFinallyLeftTheBuilding · 22/03/2012 13:17

OK, I have settled with not pointing but not being silly with food this week.

Breakfast is always 5
Lunch normally 5 or 6 - had this soup £1 a tub in Asda today which was delicious with 2 slices of Hovis wheatgerm and Low Low cheese spread with black pepper. Not sure what the cheese points is as not pointing but a great really filling lunch which should stop me snacking for the afternoon --or at least until a ravenous DS comes out of school]]
Dinner is Oven Baked Risotto = yummy Grin

Well done blathers on the running :)

Loz Bet the wine was good though ;)

Blatherskite · 22/03/2012 13:18

Whoo hoo! Kebab recipe is only 6 points! It tastes just like a shop bought donner if anyone else wants to try it.

Serves 4
1 tsp plain flour
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried italian herbs
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (although I use less)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
400g lean lamb mince (the recipe says 500g but packs at our supermarket are 400g and I can't be bothered to split packs)

Mash the whole lot together with your hands or in a mixer until it's well combined and smooth in texture.

Squish into a loaf shape and put on a grill pan or wire rack over a baking tray and bake at 180 degrees for 1hr/1hr20mins.

Slice thinly and serve with pitta bread (4 points) and lots of salad (0 points). A glug of chilli sauce will add another point.

Ben10HasFinallyLeftTheBuilding · 22/03/2012 13:21

Is that the Takeaway Secret recipe?! I love that. I didn't realise it would be so low in points :)
