I WILL lose weight now. Anyone up for doing this with me and having a nice safe threat to bore the pants off everyone share our progress?

OP posts:
Blatherskite · 05/01/2012 13:06

If you find any good Android WW apps, please let me know 5. I've downloaded the calculator but any help while out and about would be good. No apple devices in this house so I can't get the full app on anything.

Doing OK today. Have discovered that I don't hate houmous after all - although I think I could only stand it mixed in with other things - and it made my ham, cucumber and tomato pitta a bit more interesting.

I was naughty last night and finished off the last 4 or 5 of my Christmas Ferrero Rocher but at least they're gone and can stop tempting me now.

What's everyone planning for Dinner? Any nice low point recipes?

KinkyDorito · 05/01/2012 14:48

On the part where you entered your card details, there was a link to click for 'promotional codes'. It should track on quidco in 6 hours.

I've done it.

I cannot for the life of me figure it out though. It looks rather complicated.

5inthebed · 05/01/2012 16:15

I'm having a ham and vegetable omelette. Only 16 points and still has cheese and oil in. MMMMMMMM

I admit to eating some christmas cake, but still kept within(ish) my points, used some of the excess points. But I have been good now and given the rest of it to MIL. At 8 points a slice, better off in her house than in mine as I'm the only person who eats it.

ThatVikRinA22 · 05/01/2012 19:43

well im still doing the old version at the min....day 1

today ive had bran flakes/skimmed milk/small banana on top

tuna/phili light sandwich
apple

and for evening meal ive had courgettes, cherry toms, swede, butternut squash, red onion, parsnip in a couple of spoons of olive oil, roasted in the oven with mixed herbs and rosemary, with a couple of slices of goats cheese on top. said in the leaflet i was using that it was 7 of the old ww points.

if i get hungry later i will have a couple of crisp breads with philli light on.
oh
and a gin and slim line tonic....thats the most important meal of my day! i havent bought any wine because i can never stop at one....

5inthebed · 05/01/2012 20:30

Sounds yummy Vicar.

I have been having crisp breads with marmite for breakfast, might buy some philly light tomorrow for a change.

Peppapigsarse · 05/01/2012 21:01

The quidco code goes in on the first page or so
Not the check out ft me as well!!!!

devilsadvocaat · 06/01/2012 13:42

COOl vicar! will be good doing w i with someone of the same weight.

I've found this week hard. I'm still in my points but have used all my weeklies and don't get anymore til Monday. However I know next week will be easier.

Last night, I had butternut squash chips (frylight), chicken poached in lemon and green beans and broccoli. 5 points!

Also eat lots of stir frys.

I struggle more at lunchtime. I just want to eat eat eat!

My goal is 10 stone.

My body still wants chocolate and cake after I gorged on them over Christmas. Feel like a sugar junkie.

Next week I'll start riding to work again and that should help, I don't generally use my activity points.

I love the new points. Especially the app. Agree they need an android one.

Good luck everyone!

5inthebed · 06/01/2012 14:10

If anyone eats them, Asda has the WW fresh ready meals for £150 and frozen ones for £1. Good to stock up on if your family are eating meals you can't really have.

Have bunged a chicken curry in the slow cooker for tea tonight. 9 points (maybe less depending on portion size) and has potatoes in as well. Lots of veg in as well.

devilsadvocaat · 06/01/2012 20:00

A hundred and fifty pounds?!!

5inthebed · 06/01/2012 20:31

Ha, no, missed the . £1.50, marginally cheaper Wink

Curry acutally pointed at 6, so had a sneaky half naan as well. mmmmm

Blatherskite · 06/01/2012 20:36

I have had one of those days today where I just wanted to eat and eat. Have managed to only go over my points by 2 though and I covered them by doing the 30 day shred today so in essence, I've broken even.

Am glad it's bedtime soon though as there's only so much my willpower can take!

ThatVikRinA22 · 06/01/2012 20:44

today i had porridge made with half skimmed milk/half water with fat free fromage frais and raspberries, and a squidge of golden syrup.

lunch was tuna/philli sandwich (again! had tuna to use up!)

dinner was chicken stew.

im now having a crafty slimline G&T.
writing it down on here makes me stick to it better somehow!
devils i think i should make my goal 10stone too. my weigh day will be a thursday though cos i started this diet midweek for some obscure reason...

i really want to join the online thing but the new points system looks so much more complex than the old one...how does it compare?

mrsbjunior · 06/01/2012 20:45

Hi there please can i join to get a virtual kick up the backside. Joined again on Wed online got to get to 12 stone before an op in March so a stone to lose. Like the new points as i can use the weekly stuff for a cheat day. Fingers crossed for a good weekend .

Blatherskite · 06/01/2012 20:57

Today I had a crumpet with a chopped banana on top and a couple of teaspoons of runny honey - which was lovely and I'll be having again tomorrow but halving the honey as it really didn't need that much and it'll bring it down to 3 points rather than 4 too.

Lunch was another pitta filled with ham, houmous, cucumber and tomato.

The Dinner was half a pizza and a massive pile of salad.

I would have stayed within points if it weren't for the pretzels I couldn't resist Sad

5inthebed · 06/01/2012 21:11

Vicar, I enjoy this one more than the old one tbh, once you get your head round it.

I like the fact you have 49 points in reserve as well, so you don;t have to save up points for a treat.

KinkyDorito · 07/01/2012 10:51

So far so good. I did feel hungry a bit yesterday - but, in fairness, I've gone from gobbling huge quantities of Christmas food to reasonable restraint, so I'm bound to feel a bit peckish.

There's still so many nice things in the house too.

I'm not checking the points values of chocolates here, as it will start a downward spiral!

So far today, an ounce of tesco's cheerios with skim milk.

Onwards. Smile

ThatVikRinA22 · 07/01/2012 11:22

day 3....not finding it too bad at all actually! but tonight will be a challenge - its wine night (if im off work i always feel cheated if i cant have a bottle glass or 2 of wine.

but ill stick to the G&T. longer drink and slimline! thinking about easing myself back into exercise on Monday...(not run for 5 weeks now with broken coccyx)

feeling positive today. this isnt so hard is it?! had porridge/rasps for brekky again and it was yummy...

will have a light lunch - probably a salad

mince and tatties for tea - done in slow cooker so no fats. Smile

KinkyDorito · 07/01/2012 12:16

Vicar I've joined this thread a little later. How much are you trying to lose?

piprabbit · 07/01/2012 12:24

Can I join in too please?

I've been WWing on-line since the start of November and have so far lost 1.5stone. I think I'm going to need some support to get through the long dark winter months though.

TheFoosa · 07/01/2012 12:27

do they refund your £30 straight away with the quidco thing?

KinkyDorito · 07/01/2012 12:49

No, TheFoosa, it can take a while - it did say on quidco that they are good at paying and we will get it in 6 weeks, but IME that's very fast for the site.

Hi pip you're doing really well. Have you got much more to lose?

piprabbit · 07/01/2012 13:04

Hi Kinky - loads, too much to think about at the moment Grin. I'm breaking it into 2.5stone chunks - so I've got 1 stone to my net goal.

KinkyDorito · 07/01/2012 13:13

You've mad a great start though. I've only just started (again) but I do find it incredibly hard at this time of year. It's so dark - I just want to curl up on the sofa with my hand in a packet of crisps/box chocs/takeaway pizza box Grin.

I'm doing it online too and seem to get quite a few daily points. Is there a limit as to how many you should use on snacks each day, or doesn't it matter if you 'spend' less on meals so you can snack more?

piprabbit · 07/01/2012 14:01

You can use as many of your weekly points in one hit as you like. The system will deduct points from your daily allowance to start with. Daily points can't be carried over. Once you have used all your dailies, the system will start deducting weekly points (any unused weekly points disappear at the end of the week). Once you have used all your weeklies, then the system starts to deduct any activity points you have earned.

You are encouraged to try and eat all your daily points everyday. How many weekly and activity points you use is up to you. You should still lose weight even if you regularly eat all your weeklies - although weight loss will be slower.

Phew - that's turned into a bit of an epic. I hope it makes sense and answers your question.

KinkyDorito · 07/01/2012 14:08

That's really helpful, thanks. It's taking me a bit of time to negotiate all the info on there. I'm used to setting off with a load of little booklets explaining it all; it's harder getting through the links! Thanks again Smile.
