I can no longer kid myself that I am just curvy and happy about it .

I am happy at a small size 14 and I am now a large size 16 .

Does anybody want to join me in some mutual arse kicking to keep on track ?

My plan is to just eat less and move more .

I have tried low carbing in the past and it did work but I just couldn't keep it up for long .

I have also done ww before which did work longer term but I can't get to my local meetings anymore .

Please feel free to join in and tell me to stop eating rubbish and being a lazy sod .

CJMommy · 21/06/2011 18:51

'hols' not hold Blush

tinker316 · 21/06/2011 19:08

After my good intentions- I caved in Blush & ate quarter of my DP leftover birthday cake Blush
I just can't stop craving sweet things!!!

tinker316 · 21/06/2011 19:11

My 30 day shred DVD should arrive this week- then I will be on the road 2 slimness Wink

travellingwilbury · 21/06/2011 19:27

messy I am the same , we don't eat until late and I struggle about 4 or 5 o clock . I had a cup a soup , that didn't really do the trick either but I will be properly hungry when I get my dinner which is good . Normally tbh by that time I have picked so much I probably don't really need it but eat it anyway .

tinker let me know how you get on with the shred dvd , I fancy giving it a try but I am not exactly fit so I am worried it might actually kill me Wink
Are you pretty fit already ?

OP posts:
travellingwilbury · 21/06/2011 19:32

Just read back and yes indeed you are fit already , I want to hear from a couch potato who has done it and survived Grin

I can walk for miles with little trouble but a couple of yrs ago I decided I would start running and it hurt so I didn't push through with it . Also I ended up driving somewhere else so I wouldn't see anyone I knew which was all a bit daft really .

It is odd , I am actually pretty confident but the whole exercise lark makes me feel embarrassed .

lydiathetattooedlady · 21/06/2011 19:33

unfortunately im the same with exercise, the kids have gone to bed now but i have loads to do. By the time i finish i'll be too knackered! My two also get up at 6 so no way to do it then, i enjoy walking so i may try to get the kids to nursery abit earlier so i can take her for a good long walk!
Thats a good plan reguarding nails and face pack. I will be knitting to stop me nibbling tonight!

Naetha · 21/06/2011 19:35

For those using shakes or slimfast, try using diet 'bodybuilding' shakes like this:

http://www.phd-fitness.co.uk/store/p/38751/1/PhD-Diet-Whey-1Kg.html&gclid=CNe2zuzPx6kCFQ0KfAodLRDFUw

Nutritionally it is much much better than slim fast, with lots less sugar and carbs and much more protein. It also has stuff like green tea extract which is meant to help weight loss. It looks expensive, but portion wide it's about the same.

lydiathetattooedlady · 21/06/2011 19:37

exercising in public makes me embarrassed too! Im going to try and do the eat less move more, rather than 'im on a diet'. since i joined this thread this morning ive not stuffed my usual two choccie bars down my neck after work! Dh did toad in the whole and veg and i made sure i ate slowly and stopped when full instead of inhaling my food!

CybilsLiberty · 21/06/2011 20:14

messie, why can you eat when you are hungry at 6.15? What are you waiting for?

CybilsLiberty · 21/06/2011 20:14

Hi,
I'd be interested in a wellness check, what does it involve?

messybessie · 21/06/2011 20:41

The DCs eat at around 5 and then I eat with DH between 8 and 9, after they are asleep.

It's not good because I just pick until then.

plusonemore · 21/06/2011 20:44

please can i join you lot? It seems I get more and more hungry the more I try to lose weight, spend all day thinking about it. I never feel full and love eating. BUT i must stop I so want to lose weight, I need to cut off the evil messages from my brain that say 'one won't hurt' or 'you can start again tomorrow'. Iam a big 16 and weigh 14 and half stone. My knees are starting to ache too. Got 2 DS, 2 and 5, want to lose it before the 5yr old starts noticing and commenting :( Have done WW online in the past, lost 10lb in first week and wasnt too hard, am currently subscribing but cant seem to find time to track- prob cos i know i am way over. A new start!!!

Jahan · 21/06/2011 21:06

Do you tend to eat diet food when you try to lose weight plusonemore?

I've lost weight by making sure I eat at least 6 portions of fruit and veg a day. Two with each meal.
I normally include fruit in my breakfast or veg like mushrooms and tomatoes and lots of veg and salad with my lunches and dinner with berries and total 0% for desserts.

I need to lose another stone and half.

tibni · 21/06/2011 21:37

Had a good day today. 3rd day of hard cardio at the gym to try and kick start my metabolism and push my body to burn fat. Food has been ok, trying to be sensible rather than over restrictive.

Tomorrow will be difficult. Got a call to ask me to go in early for training so I will be at work 9am - 7.30pm, usually I can grab an early lunch at home but tomorrow I will have to take food. I have made a w-meal salad sandwich and fruit but next time I go into town I will buy one of the lunch boxes will the built in plastic fork and knife. I work in a male prison so can't just grab a metal fork from home and take a salad and don't fancy eating it with my fingers.

My weight is 11st and I am 5ft 8. I want to lose a stone or a little more and feel trim and toned.

zlaya · 21/06/2011 22:49

IZZYBIZZYBUZZYBEES, depends where is it done, you can request one from your GP, usually full blood count, liver ff, kidney ff, checking the weight, cholesterol test, blood pressure test or alternatively private, any good private medical practice, I had one done in Harley street, full comprehensive all of the above plus woman health, hormone check, hope this helps.

zlaya · 21/06/2011 22:59

Oh sorry I forgot, thyroid function test as well.

foreverondiet · 21/06/2011 23:09

messy I am hungry when I get in from work, so have a snack - generally 1 ryvita and 100g of cottage cheese, but sometimes, a yoghurt, or some cashew nuts - around 100 calories. On non work days have same snack when DC are eating their tea.

Once the DC are in bed I cook dinner for me and DH. I can't pick as I am upstairs putting the DC to bed. By around 7.30pm I am in kitchen sorting out dinner - I have a salad with my dinner so I eat that as soon as its made. Depending on how hungry I am and how late DH is going to be I decide whether to wait for him or not. Generally if he's home by 8pm I wait.

whyme2 · 22/06/2011 06:22

Morning all.
I am feeling quite positive now. I've managed to get through the first two days with little snacking and no evening munching either which is a big step for me.

Just need to crack the exercise thing now. I will have lots of walking to do today as dh has taken the car to work which means I have about 5 miles of walking to do (over 3 school runs).

I know someone mentioned they were not telling anyone in rl what they were doing. I was thinking that but last night I talked to dh. He always tells me I am lovely as I am and don't need to lose weight but after shelling out for my last set of larger size cloths he did grimace slightly when I said my waistbands were getting tight again. I know he is on my side and won't buy me any treats for the time being which is really helpful. There is nothing worse than working hard all day to eat healthy and he comes home with alcohol and cake for me.

travellingwilbury · 22/06/2011 07:47

Morning all
I am feeling pretty positive too , I just know the time has come to sort this out .
I have weighed myself this morning and this is the heaviest I have been other than heavily pregnant . 13.4 . Not good , but this is the start of getting rid of a chunk of it .

I am working till lunchtime so that will keep me occupied , then I have some housework to tackle . Keeping busy is the secret for me as I eat when bored .

Good luck and a wee kick for everyone .

Morning All!

Feeling tired, grouchy and crumpled. Not a great start, but I've just read through these posts and feeling a lot better this morning.

I'm going to jump in the shower and take some breakfast to work. Busy day today so hopefully I can stay away from the cake.

My scales are broken again, but I am going to get some new ones today. The last time I weighed a few days ago, I was 13,4 (coincidence!) which is 2 stone more than I weighed on the day I gave birth to DS. :( It's time to take control.

WorzselMummage · 22/06/2011 08:59

I weighed myself this morning and I'm 11stone 11 1/4lb.. If anyone's doing a list.

FoundWanting · 22/06/2011 09:56

Well, it is official. I am overweight.

Hopped on the wii this morning and my little chubby mii's t-shirt doesn't cover her belly. The line moved into the overweight band and, to add insult to injury, the bloody music changed! Shock

So, 10stone 11lbs.

Some very funny things are going on in my head at the moment. I was always 'big' from childhood, but even at a size 18/20, I had loads of confidence. I lost a lot of weight following a tragedy and still associate being slim with being miserable to some extent. I was a size 16/18 when I met DH, and stayed pretty stable through the births of 3 DCs. Three years ago, my DSis joined WeightWatchers (she had about 7 stone to lose and has arthritis in her ankles made worse by the weight she was carrying). I joined up, with our mother, mainly to support her but also to possibly lose a stone. Somehow, I found it really easy and lost 3 stone, getting down to 9stone 4lbs which for me was actually too thin. Started looking very gaunt. Went back up to 9stone 12lbs, which is right for me, and stayed there for 2 years.

Now, I've put on a stone since Christmas. My clothes are tight. I feel lumpy and tired and fed up. I want to get back to my ideal weight but there is also a voice in my head telling me that I was just as happy (perhaps more so) when I was 2 stone heavier. What's all this about then? In some way I lost my body-confidence with the weight. I worry about how I look more now than I ever did. Is it my age? I'm 43, and my body-shape has changed. Now I seem to carry any excess round my stomach and hips whereas it used to be more evenly distributed.

Bugger. I'm ranting, aren't I? I just feel so pissed off with my body but can't get my head into the right place to tackle it. Hope that logging on to this thread will give me some incentive.

Good luck to everyone.
