I can no longer kid myself that I am just curvy and happy about it .

I am happy at a small size 14 and I am now a large size 16 .

Does anybody want to join me in some mutual arse kicking to keep on track ?

My plan is to just eat less and move more .

I have tried low carbing in the past and it did work but I just couldn't keep it up for long .

I have also done ww before which did work longer term but I can't get to my local meetings anymore .

Please feel free to join in and tell me to stop eating rubbish and being a lazy sod .

B4 Dd I was a size 6/8 which was 20mths ago,but now am a 12-but can feel little bit of a squeeze Sad
Just want 2 feel happier with myself & get my confidence back Smile

foreverondiet · 21/06/2011 10:21

zyala my main meal is also one a day, as for me also lunches and breakfasts are smaller than dinner. But I would be very hungry all day if I was limited to fruit and a few rice cakes & ryvita - and I can't function well when hungry - which is why my breakfast and lunch both feature protein.

Of course we are all entitled to own views but I get annoyed when someone says - this is the only thing that works - yes maybe for you but not the only thing that works overall - and as others have said that diet can lead to metabolism slowing down.

TooImmature2BMum · 21/06/2011 10:25

Hi tw!

Will join in too. Have just had an ultrasound and - get this - even my liver is fat! The technician said I had slight fatty liver, probably caused by diet, and added reassuringly that it was nothing to worry about from a health point of view! Hmm I was mortified. I only just restrained myself from bursting into tears and wailing 'my liver is fat!' I started the Dukan Diet yesterday and have lost 2lbs overnight. Am going to start Shredding in a couple of days (Dr Dukan says not to start any massive exercise regime until your body is used to eating only protein, so perhaps day 3) and hopefully that will help too.

Chuckles78 · 21/06/2011 10:25

I'm gonna join this thread if that's ok. I've already lost 25lbs in 10 weeks - sounds great but still got another 15 to go :) Didn't actually lose anything last week and I'm a bit worried I'm starting to lose heart.
I've done pretty much all the diets out there, and am currently doing a 80/20 diet. I set myself a goal of 2lbs a week and so far it's been going well. I exercise 3 times a week and I HATE exercising. I'd love to hear anyone's diet tips or exercise tips just to change it up a bit and keep the momentum going.

zlaya · 21/06/2011 10:29

Tinker body changes after childbirth, whichever plan you decide to follow stick with it and you will reap rewards, after all it's all in the mind, but it is not easy with a very young child, I remember myself when little ones where really small, being cupped up with 24/7 with them, I overate at the time for various reasons, picked food from there plates, generally just ate a lot, found at time difficult to shift it, but once I have put my mind to it, I did menage to shed it no problem.

zlaya · 21/06/2011 10:38

Foreverondiet, Only thing that works for ME, I do not claim as I did stress above in my posts that it will work for everybody, by the way my metabolism did not slow down, I used to poooo cement (once in three days) and even that was irregular, that was a slow metabolism and sluggish one, very. Today I don't have these problems, like clockwork, very important on any diet.

Jaspants · 21/06/2011 10:43

I'm going to dip a tentative toe in the water too if I may.

I've been half heartedly trying and failing for weeks now and I'm now less than 2 months away from holiday and 2 stone overweight.

I know I'm not likely to loose it all by the time I go, but if I don't make some sort of effort then I'll still be 2 stone over

tinker316 · 21/06/2011 10:47

What is the Dukan Diet??Hmm

FoundWanting · 21/06/2011 11:04

zlaya Congratulations on your weight loss. It's clear that not every diet suits every person. My mother diets like you to maintain her weight, and it suits her.

I managed to put on weight doing Slimming World. On the Atkins diet, I lost weight but felt really crappy. Weight Watchers did work for me, but like the OP, I now can't get to the meetings (or get my head round the new plan).

I'm going to work on making better food choices; cutting back on refined carbs; and keeping an eye on portion size.

messybessie · 21/06/2011 11:13

Can I join too? Someone asked if I was pregnant at the weekend. Sad

I've also gone from 14 to large 16. I think my problem is that my body has changed shape since having children. I used to have small waist and massive arse but now my legs and arse are more toned (due to 5 years of pushing a pushchair everywhere) but when I turn to the side I'm about twice as thick! It's all gone onto my middle.

I've joined WW online but haven't really bothered so far. Yesterday was my first real effort. I can't get to the meetings but if I stay on here, hopefully you will give me all some motivation.

I work from home most of the time and really struggle about what to have for lunch - so end up just having peanut butter on toast or something. Then I finish the kids tea before having my own later.

My husband is also rather large (and getting larger) and he does the cooking in the evening, so it's difficult to control portion sizes or what goes in it!

zlaya · 21/06/2011 11:16

Let's all list really revolting diets we have been on; Cabbage soup diet here it goes; two large spanish onions sweated in VERY LITTLE olive oil, three large heads of cabbage roughly chopped, large tin of plum tomatoes, little salt and pepper to taste all simmering in a large pot, 30-45 min. Idea is simple breakfast low calorie, soup for lunch and soup for dinner, make sure you stay near the toilet at all times , you gonna need it, boy you loose weight at amazing speed, ideal for quick fix (holidays, weddings, christenings, christmas parties), you will never look at cabbage the same wayGrin

MumblingRagDoll · 21/06/2011 11:20

Me! I am tipping! I have the start of a double chin!!

I am happy at a 12-14 and have recent;ly given in and bought a 16!

I love crisps, choc and carbs...cheese etc.

I HAVE to fix this before it gets out of hand.

FoundWanting · 21/06/2011 11:27

Many years ago a friend of mine did a German diet which consisted of foods which were supposed to use more calories in digestion than they contained.

It included celery, boiled eggs and grapefruit.

She stank. Grin

zlaya · 21/06/2011 11:30

I stank of cabbage also, but i WASTHINNNNNNNN ,Grin

travellingwilbury · 21/06/2011 11:46

Yay ! More people to nag me .

I am sticking to my basic plan of eating less and moving more . I have done "diets" before that work in the beginning and you feel great but I can't live like that forever . I need to sort out my eating and exercise , I know it isn't rocket science but it is hard

My downfalls are crisps , bread and cheese . And booze Blush

So far so good today and it is really fab that lots of people have joined in .

Currently registered to ww online as i cant get to meetings! My belly is my problem, id say if i didnt have such a big 'gunt' as my friend calls it id be a 12, however i am having to wear a 14! Need to tone this up but no idea how!
My sister gets married in 5 weeks, would like to lose 1/2 stone by then...

messybessie · 21/06/2011 12:32

Me too Lydia. I have bought the 30 day shred DVD but am too scared to put it on.

I can grab my stomach in my hands. It's horrible!

I have just had mozzarella and peach salad for lunch though, instead of my usual ham or peanut butter sandwich. The mozzarella was 9 points Shock, but everything else was zero so all in all, it wasn't bad.

I go on holiday on August 6th. Must lose at least a stone by then Angry

zlaya · 21/06/2011 12:35

Gym ball for flabby tummy, it works, as may crunches as you can twice a day, it will melt, much easier doing it on the ball then on the floor, plus you can do it in the house.

lydiathetattooedlady · 21/06/2011 12:36

ive got the 30 day shred! i have to admit though it didnt half bugger up my knees once i got to level 2! My knee caps felt like they were being pulled off! ive got zumba for wii which i quite enjoy and the hula hooping exercise on wii fit is supposed to be good for bellies! Im going to walk the 45 minute up hill walk from nursery after work...

weigh in today at 11st 2lbs

target 9st 7lb

travellingwilbury · 21/06/2011 12:38

Does anyone know of any good wii fitness games that actually work ?

I am a bit suspicious of them working tbh .

But it would fit into my day to be able to do half an hour on the wii .

messybessie · 21/06/2011 12:39

ooh - weigh in.

Well, yesterday I was 13st 6.5 Shock but I have been around 13st 4 for about a year so I don't know where the extra couple of pounds have come from (although did give me a much needed kick up the arse).

Target weight - 11stone.

travellingwilbury · 21/06/2011 12:40

lydia Is the 30 day shred as scary as it sounds ?

I don't really do any exercise other than walking and playing with my boys .

But I would be willing to give it a go if it works and wasn't going to kill me .

OP posts:
zlaya · 21/06/2011 12:40

Another one is swimming, melts the fat in particular areas while it's supporting the whole body, proven to work and tone to perfection.

travellingwilbury · 21/06/2011 12:45

I am rubbish at swimming , I always end up with a sore neck . And I know this sounds daft but the only pool I could get to in the time allowed would be 5 mins walk from the house and I dread seeing someone I know in there .

zlaya · 21/06/2011 12:47
