It’s lovely to see everyone and read all your updates. I come on this board once in a while, but I haven’t seen this thread in a while. I didn’t realise we were still posting, so it’s lovely to see all the old usernames and catch up on everyone’s updates.
Not sure if anyone remembers, but I went cold turkey in February 2025. I’ve been maintaining on my own now for 1 year and 7 months. My weight has fluctuated within a 6lb range since I stopped, but I still weigh myself weekly. If I notice an upward trend, I rein it in the following week, etc. My BMI last Saturday was 23.6.
I work out at home five days a week. I’ve seen the discussion about Grow with Jo earlier, and I use her workouts too with some others on YouTube.
It’s lovely that there are pills available now. Even though I’m going it alone, it was scary at first, but it doesn’t feel that way anymore. Knowing there are legitimate pharmacies that advertise and offer these medications at a BMI over 25 means I know that, if I ever need them, I can get help.
That said, I’m really glad I went cold turkey when I did and I was not too keen to get back on them when the hunger hit during those first few months, because things eventually settled, the hunger, the weight gain and then more weight loss which means I have a good buffer now so that gives me peace of mind.
Lovely to see so many familiar names still here

Well my cat got a lot worse on the anti inflammatory meds, dizzy falling everywhere, just staring up etc, just sleeping, no energy so stopped the meds and her balance and energy improved but her paw kept bleeding and looked infected, wasn't healing 1.5 weeks later so back to vets Tuesday, £280 on blood tests, antibiotic injection and steroids, she has mild kidney disease and low iron, massive infection but rest all fine.
Bought renal food, eating and drinking fine etc paw rebled that night but then stopped bleeding, all seemed good but a few days of steroids and lethargic, no energy, not vocal, wouldn't touch any food dry or wet or have water, peeing on carpet. Had some licking treats and cat milk only, wouldnt have steroids. Stopped the steroids Thursday evening, energy increasing, appetite slowly in increasing, using litter trays again and chirping and maiowing at me! Had very little sleep as waking up at night to try to feed her. Anyway all this stress hasn't been great on my body, but my weight isn't too bad 8st 12lbs this morning so I'm happy with that.
@FizzleGONE hope you are having a lovely weekend, we've been blessed with this weather this week ❤️
@EVK I've seen a few good reviews on the tablets, guess you will only know if you try. Have you tried different cat litter? Mine wouldn't go in her litter tray as she got older and would go on the floor just near it, so I switched from wood pellets, which can be hard on their paws, to clumping granules and she used it again daily. There is also soft paper litter.

Hope you are all well, lovely to hear all the updates on here. Its my 2 year mounjaro anniversary on 2nd October! How quickly has that flown! XX

Hi all, lovely to read through all the messages from regulars and those who haven’t posted for a while.Hope your cat is as well as can be @Mysticmaiden Very stressful for you💕 We have a 3 year old dog and it’s like our baby. Dread thought of her being ill.

i have continued to be a bit rubbish eating wise last few weeks and was 9st 4lb this morning!!! An increase of about 3 lb. I have took 2.5mg 2 days earlier than normal as eating far too much chocolate and had cake and custard a couple of nights in same week and not even anyone’s birthday.
So easy for the weight to creep up. Ironically I have had a few people say I look really well but want to make sure I don’t put any more weight on.
Was talking to a relative I don’t see often and they have been to Turkey in the last year to get a gastric band. They have lost 5 stone but I think they still want to lose quite a bit more. They tried MJ but said it didn’t work. I got the impression not for long so possibly didn’t give higher doses the chance to work.

Think it’s my MJ Anniversary mid October, amazing when I look at photos before that period now. Feel like I look like a totally different person now, though think all my family and friends are used to my new look and I don’t get the constant “don’t lose any more” which I got when I was a stone or two more than I am now.
Happy October MJ Anniversary everyone.

Hi all, really great to continue to read everyone’s updates, I can’t believe it’s nearly 2 years since we all started! I’m still plodding on with maintenance, bobbing up and down between 8st 5lbs and 8st 11lbs, currently 8st 8lbs. We have had several big birthdays which have been celebrated more than once…since holiday in August and so from now until Xmas I’m going to make an effort to get back to 8st 5lb. I’ve gone up to 8.5mg which is the highest I have ever taken, but I definitely think that we build a tolerance as I was struggling to get any effects from 7.5mg. It does slightly worry me how long the effects will last if I have to keep going up the doses.

Thought I would add a photo of her taken yesterday, she looks brighter than she has for days. Her paw bled again earlier because she was licking it and some pus came out so hoping that's good.

@Mysticmaiden glad your cat is starting to
pick up. My cat is going in her litter tray fine, she has clump forming litter too - the cat expensive stuff! She seems fine as long as there’s no soft dog bed around! It’s so strange.
lovely to hear from you @Taxiparent - glad you’re managing to maintain - I found after being off MJ for about 10 months - when I went back on 2.5mg it worked well. So maybe having a break helps? I’ve never go e above 5mg anyway as I’ve always found it too much. However, I’ve also read that over time it can become less effective! I also went cold turkey and over the 10-12 month period only put on about 6lbs but I just felt like I needed to pull off a few pounds and admit that I was finding that incredibly hard to do; which is why I’ve gone back on. I’m on 2.5mgs and leave around 10-14 days between doses. I feel it’s helping me to stay on track. I do want to come off again though, I’m thinking January!! It’s so expensive!
