Hi all

Just checking in, even tho I am still on Wegovy. Have been on 1mg for 3 months and pretty much stayed the same, so I am going up to the next strength next month.

letshavetea · 15/05/2026 16:46

Thanks @Bluenose1966 for setting up the new thread. Can’t believe it’s thread nine. Still following along. Currently off MJ (since 6/05) prior to my knee replacement next Monday (18/05). Looking forward to getting back onto MJ afterwards. Will take advice on that from the medical team and also from Oushk re dose. Was very impressed as a pharmacist phoned me as I’d ordered a new pen for the post op period suggesting that she call me to discuss when to restart and at what dose once I’m post op and at home.

Mysticmaiden · 15/05/2026 21:21

@Bluenose1966 Thanks for setting this up! Might it be worth adding 2024 in the title??
My retreat was lovely, lots of walking..6.5 miles/12600 steps one day, early morning 8.30am and evening yoga, lots of food, 2 courses every meal ..feel like I've gained muscle!
@letshavetea has the hunger come back?

Carridoesntlivehereanymore · 15/05/2026 22:31

@Bluenose1966 well done for the new thread and thanks

HansHolbein · 16/05/2026 08:24

Hi guys!

You all popped into my head yesterday and thought fuck me it’s been ages!

I’ve got a really busy day today but I promise to update at some point this weekend.

Love to all x

Checking in 🪪
I think I'm officially on my last pen😬. It's been an eventful few months with my weight. Managing maintenance is going to be the toughest challenge I think. In Feb, I had slowly tapered down to 2.5 every 10 days whilst getting down to my all time lowest adult weight of 9st11 (from 15st5). My goal weight was 9st7 so very happy with this.

I switched up my HRT and with lowering my dose, of course, my hunger came back. Portions became bigger, snacking, an extra glass of wine when I wouldn't usually. It was quite a quick weight gain up to 10st7 which terrified me, panicked and tried to order a maintenance dose. I was rejected because I hadn't bought it so long and now I was under the BMI limit.

This turned out to be a good thing as it made me step up. I upped the level of workouts, shrunk the portions. Focused on whole foods and my step count and I'm back down to 10st1. I have 1 pen left that may last a couple of months if I stick to 2.5 so I need to cement these habits better.

Well done for putting in the hard work to get back in control..it can't have been easy!
I'm maintaining at 5mg but considering coming off at some point but it sounds like it won't be easy, I'm already getting the carb and sugar cravings and increased appetite on 5mg so i won't rush! 😫
@HansHolbein good to see your post, please let us know how you are.

Wow - impressive turn around - well done to you🙌 Once off MJ I found the portion control was the hardest thing of all. It just crept up - I was eating healthy food but just too much of it ! I put 6-7lbs on over about 10 month. So went back to Oushk - my BMI was low. I asked for maintenance plan but because I weight in the day, with clothes on my weight was higher (9stone) I’m 5ft 2 and they said let’s put you back on monthly pens as your not at your goal weight yet! I was surprised but delighted. 2.5mgs has been just the nudge I’ve needed to get me back on track. I was struggling to make the difference on my own and so scared of putting on more. You’ve done brilliantly to pull it back.

EVK · 17/05/2026 08:38

@Bluenose1966 thanks is for new thread and great to read everyone’s posts and progress 🙌 @HansHolbein so good to hear from you - can’t wait for an update. I love that so many of us are still here 🩷

@letshavetea hope the operation goes well and you’ll soon be home recovering xx

Half a stone in 10 months isn't bad at all, you did well to only gain that and it would probably be lot of water weight too. It's good you were still eating healthy foods. Glad you got prescribed again, I'm also with oushk currently on 5mg but dose from 10mg pens. Appetite has increased and carb and sugar cravings like chocoate and crisps 🙈😫..I need to introduce some exercise hoping pilates may help. I have an exam on Thursday so hoping after that I'll get some free time to exercise.

HansHolbein · 18/05/2026 14:46

Long time no speak!

How are you all? I’ve tried to catch up as much as I can. I really hope everyone is ok.

I’m still maintaining around 8st/BMI 19. I do a ton of exercise now, about 20k steps a day! Feeling really good and well. Eat tons of protein, fat, fibre, and some carbs.

I titrated down from 15mg to 5mg by October. Well…. by mid November the food noise was back and it was just terrible. Went back up to 7.5mg, which was fine for a while. Then in January it started again… awful. Binging in the car alone… my god. I ate so many Easter eggs.

I’m now on 10mg and all is going well. Can’t believe this is my life now. Wearing what I want. Doing stuff I never thought I would be able to!

Of course, I still get a little voice sometimes telling me to eat all the biscuits. It is hard. Sometimes I give in. It’s different with MJ though, as the next day I’m straight back on it. Maintenance is much harder than the weight loss period, for me anyway.

My son is doing his GCSE’s and my daughter is very stroppy so I am currently picking my battles wisely Grin

Can’t wait to hear about all of your news x

WildOneWalker · 18/05/2026 17:53

So glad you’re managing to keep off the weight. It is wonderful being happy with yourself and feeling fit and strong.
I was off MJ for nearly a year but found I’d out back about 5-6lbs so decided to go back in. I’m finding just being on 2.5mgs is enough to keep me on the right path. I had an Easter binge too and just found my portions were getting bigger and I’d go back for another chunk and then another chunk of my dark chocolate treat so had to do something. I was trying but just couldn’t bear the thought of putting any more back on. Maintenance is definitely harder for me too - it requires constant vigilance and of course our bodies are desperately trying to get us back to our old set point. I wish I knew how long it would take before this new weight becomes the set point t or maybe that never happen - I don’t know.

FizzleGONE · 19/05/2026 09:15

Changed my username as the weight doesnt need to go away, its GONE. ha ha

I feel like iv been MIA for too long! time flys! I have just caught up, so glad everyone is doing so well.

I still haven't made any effort to shift the last few lbs I keep talking about ... but I do have an event at the end of June that is black tie so I may push it for that!

Im currently 9st 10lbs so staying around the same weight.

Down to my last pen.

FizzleGONE · 21/05/2026 10:47

The weather next week!!!! Glorious!

I had half the week booked as annual leave but I have just booked the rest of the week off to enjoy the weather. Beach day planned too.

igivein · 21/05/2026 11:28

i got an email from MedExpress this morning saying they're migrating over to the new type of pen starting now, but it won't make any difference ...
Well apart from costing me £75 per week rather than £63 with the magic dose gone 😒

Morning all, hope every one is well.
I am maintaining well on 2.5mg/3mg and at my lowest weight ever 8st 12.7lb.
Have really upped my fibre to 30mg daily which has been a total game changer in terms of keeping me feel satisfied and improving my bowel movements (too much information I know😂) Done it by having pysillium husk daily as well as early evening big bowl of overnight oats, chia seeds, Linwood flaxseed, raspberries, blueberries and Greek yoghurt. I feel that full up stopped my evening chocolate cravings.

Have been loving the sunny weather, unfortunately gone really miserable here now and the weather set to get worse. Typical as it is my 60th party on Saturday and we could have done with the garden to spread out. My kids said it will be like a rave with the amount of people coming😜.

Well - rave in @Bluenose1966 I hope you have a blast and celebrate how far you’ve come and your brilliant success. I too try to get as much fibre in as possible through massive amounts of veg, ground flaxseed etc. breakfasts very similar to evening routine. Fills me up and don’t often eat much for lunch. Tim Spector (Zoe) says it’s the nutrient we are all low in. I’m waiting for Oushk to approve my latest order and can’t understand why it’s taking so long. Going to get a 5mg. Pen and stretch it out to save money. I’m hovering around 8.7 - 8.8 and I’d like to get that to be 8.5 - 8.7 then I’ll be back at n Maintainence. Hot weather has been amazing but like you it’s turned here too - hopefully not for too long.Happy pre- Birthday 🎁

igivein · 02/06/2026 10:48

Morning. I got my delivery of a 15mg pen from MedExpress yesterday and it's one of the new 'no magic dose' one's.
My target weight was 11st (top end of healthy bmi). I'm currently at 10.13 and plateaued. I wanted to get another couple of pounds of to give me some wiggle room before I start a very slow titrate down, but I'm wondering if I should try 14.5 next week and see how I go - the price now is insane so I'd like to get to a smaller pen if I could.
I'm worried though because I'm getting hunger and some food noise on 15, I hope it's not going to be unmanageable, I've not lost over 9st to start putting it back on again

letshavetea · 05/06/2026 18:12

Hi all, just checking in. I survived the knee replacement (on 18/5). Now 2 and a half weeks post op. My days consist of icing and doing the exercises the physio has set for me. My poor husband is stoically doing all cooking, washing, cleaning etc as I can’t do a lot! I’m now just getting to the bored stage!

Still on strong pain meds and keen to reduce them but can’t really at the moment. I can’t go back on MJ until that happens due to the gastric side effects (constipation - tmi). Have now been off my 10mg MJ dose since 6/5 - longer than I anticipated. Weight pre op was 10.8.5. Post op was 11.7. Today is 10.13. Extra weight apparently will be inflammation and swelling.

Oushk have been very good. They instigated weekly phone calls, which have been helpful. Because of the pain and side effects of meds I’ve had to make myself eat the right amount of food often enough for healing. So I’m hoping to get back on MJ as soon as possible - when I stop the diamirphine basically. Trouble is I don’t know when that will be! Oh well…

EVK · 05/06/2026 22:37

@igivein wow - 9 stone lost is incredible. Go slow bit hopefully you’ll find moving down doesn’t have a huge impact on your eating.

I'm having 2.5mgs and it’s been going well although tonight ive had a proper binge on dark chocolate in various forms eg. Rum and raisin. Don’t know where it came from really!! Old habits die hard! Giving up smoking though (which I did many years ago), seemed easier !! My next pen is a 5mg and I intend upping my dose a little maybe to 3.5mg and still stretch the pen a little further!! It is terribly expensive. @letshavetea glad the operation went well and you’re recovering quickly. Definitely there’s going to be fluids from swelling and other post op. Issues causing the increase in weight- once you’re up amd able to move freely it will come off easily hopefully. Heal first and don’t give yourself a hard time at all.

Mysticmaiden · 06/06/2026 09:12

@HansHolbein lovely to hear from you. Sounds like you are doing a great job with your weight. I'm impressed with all the steps..how do you find the time? I'm up at 5.30-6am and back from work at 6.30pm, exhausted by then.
@WildOneWalker putting on only 5-6lbs in a year is good, it sounds like it could have been water retention from coming off the jabs. A lot of people put on a lot more and in a shorter time. Glad 2.5mg is working for you, 8st 5-7 is brilliant to maintain at. What bmi are you?
@letshavetea hope you are healing well from your op.
@igivein I was on 15mg now I'm at 6mg, I tapered down slowly after getting to bmi 25 and then 15mg and 12.5 and then 10mg felt too strong for me and I was struggling to eat.
@Bluenose1966 happy 60th birthday 🎂 🥳 how did it go?
@FizzleGONE how are you doing?I feel the same with lack of motivation with losing more weight.

Well update from me, I've been busy with work, had an exam on 21st May which was for a 6 months training qualification, which preceeded weeks of poor interrupted sleep starting from my yoga retreat on 8th May! I'm just starting to sleep through the night this week again. Bought myself aubergine blackout curtains from amazon, as kept waking up around dawn, I already have wooden shutter style heavy blinds, put the curtains up Wednesday evening when they were delivered and I'm sleeping through the night now and for longer.

Last Saturday, I had a body contouring session on my tummy, it's called quad lipo and it actually kills fat cells and takes 3 days to be removed from body, where with weight loss it leads them to shrink but they can fill back up again quickly if you gain. It uses radio frequency, LED, vacuum and cavitation. It was fine until she started the vacuum and was pummelling me for a while, over the boney areas like the sides of my body at the bottom of my shoulders and tops of hips hurt a lot! Anyway I was bloated and sore for days, felt like doing a heavy exercise session and getting DOMS, I felt bruised but didn't have any bruises as it was inside. Within days, my waist is definitely more defined and I have more of an hourglass shape now. I was always more rectangular shaped and bloated, have IBS and had prediabetes, insulin resistant from teenager, remember my mum telling me i looked 3 months pregnant when I was 21. It cost £75 and I'm doing a package of 5 sessions and get one free so looking forward to the results. It's best for stubborn fat on a slim body, rather than major fat loss, and tightening the skin and encourages increased collagen. I did look into fat freezing but the side effects sound horrific.
I am maintaining at 8st 10lbs bmi 21.8, would ideally go down to 8st 7lbs but I'm quite happy with my body other than my tummy so not putting in effort to lose and eating at maintenance cals. I went down from 15 to 5mg but find I'm a lot more hungrier on that and craving carbs and sugar so I did 6mg from a 10mg pen last week and that has been better but i feel more tired, but I had a carb blow out yesterday 🙈 2lbs heavier this morning than last week 🤷‍♀️. Starting to build up a stash of pens 2 x 10mg pens in fridge, so not sure what to do for my next pen that needs delivering in 3 weeks so I don't have a big gap, stick to 10 or go down to 7.5.
Have an essay to do by 12th June then I must focus on doing exercise or my muscles will waste away!
Currently looking for new cars, hit 101k on my current mazda 3. Looking at electric cars, I do around 16k miles a year so hoping it saves petrol. Looking at a tesla or MG4, any advice appreciated.

WildOneWalker · 06/06/2026 12:40

@Mysticmaiden sounds like you’re doing really well and have an awful lot going on!! Very interesting- your fat lipo treatments !! I’d love some of that on my knees! Also, wish I could get rid of sagging arm skin. I really need to build some muscle and have weights I can do at home but somehow never quite seem to get to it!! How to build that into a daily routine?! The golden question!! I don’t know what my BMI is - I’ll have to look on my RENPHO scales. Lack of sleep is a horrible thing - I always wake once or twice in the night - menopause and can’t have HRT so have to live with it! I’m kind of used to it now but if I get a 4-5 hour stretch in one go I feel blessed! Never sleep right through and it does leave you feeling ragged! Glad your black out blinds have done the trick👍 As you have a stash of pens building why not go for some cheaper and lower dose pens? You’re a fabulous BMI and weight so for maintenance in my book it’s great if you can go as low as possible and begin managing some of the food noise where possible/ it becomes a balancing act. It’s good to have MJ as a back/support, rather than weight loss tool. Well, my ultimate aim is always to be on the least or no dose for as long as possible. I’d love to be able to come off again soon but use as a back up if needed - that’s the plan anyway!

@Bluenose1966 i don’t know how you manage so many steps a day!! I walk but wouldn’t be able to cover that much ground daily - time doesn’t allow but it’s very impressive. Weekends I go further and it my exercise now that my tendinitis doesn’t allow for running (which I miss dreadfully) I always feel jealous when I see people out cross country running as I loved it.

my advice (for what it’s worth!) on electric cars via brother and sister who’ve both had complete electric ones and hybrids is that that the infrastructure is still not good enough to support stress free longer trips without petrol back up! So they both swapped their electric Jaguar and Range Rover for hybrid versions. As for models I don’t know but lots of political opposition for the Tesla’s !!

Mysticmaiden · 06/06/2026 21:26

@WildOneWalker my highest dose was 15mg so 5mg is really low for me. I was prediabetic and still have insulin resistance and believe I have pcos, I have the majority of the symptoms but just never spoke to GP about it, even though ive had hormonal conditions and treatment when i was 25 but GPs never look further into what can cause it. So I think I'll be on mj for life as it will never go and with 5mg I'm getting the carb and sugar cravings again like before when i was prediabetic and the hunger gets ravenous just like it was before mj, so it's really hard to control it unless I go higher. Some of us just need higher doses, even just to control my inflammation, high blood pressure and high blood sugar. Thanks for the advice on the pens amd cars. I try to get a higher pen and do lower doses to save money.

LumionaMoonsplash · 06/06/2026 22:34

I've been struggling to adjust to being slim, perhaps I need some counselling to help sort through my thoughts.

I've worked so hard to undo all my disordered eating patterns over the last few years that now I feel I'm at a stable weight/ eating plan. All good stuff but I'm struggling with the identity of being a slim person. I've been plus sized since my formative teen years, I've been the curvy friend for 25yrs and my DH has only known me size 16-22.

Now I have a weird body dysmorpia where I'm disconnected from my body in the mirror. I'm worried my DH won't fancy me without my curves. I'm so happy with my weight loss and now I feel "normal" and I find that I'm not scanning around to see if I'm the fattest in the room like I used to, then I feel guilt that I lived like that and shame that I got as big as did before making the changes.

I need to move on and enjoy my lighter, stronger, sexier body but it's been difficult to undo decades of body issue culture that my xennial brain has absorbed.
