I'm back from a week away from home where I couldn't weigh, ate out a lot but walked loads. I'm delighted to find that I am a pound down!

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 09/07/2026 20:08

Great news @MoneyJo ! Just goes to show what a difference walking makes.

Yes! Sadly I've barely done 2k today between sitting at my desk and the blooming heat!

Well done @MoneyJo 👏

@MoneyJo I was toying with the idea of a walking pad for hot weather and also the other half of the year when it is cold and wet. Feels like the weather is only just right for 4 days a year at the moment!

Do it! We have one that I try and use regularly but on a really hot day I just can't. It's great for 5 minutes here or there between work calls.

ShebaQueen · 10/07/2026 06:44

Morning all, half a kilo off for me this week, well done to everyone on the losses, keep going! Feeling a bit ropey as usual after jabbing yesterday, but have been out walking this morning, already 20 degrees out there, but feels lovely compared to temps later in the day.
@taratill I checked my BMI and mine is 30.7, so I'm still obese, but overweight is almost within touching distance. I was looking at the calculator and according to that, "The best weight for your height is between 54.8 kilograms and 73.9 kilograms". I honestly can't imagine what I would look like at 55kg, probably not great. I was looking back at my old weight loss spreadsheets (can you tell I'm a serial dieter?!), and I weighed 79kg in September 2009, when I was on the Atkins diet (remember that one?). Mounjaro feels truly miraculous in comparison, even with the side effects.
Have a good day everyone.

MoneyJo · 10/07/2026 08:27

I've thought the same @ShebaQueen - we are similar heights I think. I don't really work in kilos but according to BMI I should be between 8 st 7 and 11 st 6. I think I would look like a stick at the lower weight. Not that I am likely to ever find out 😀

ShebaQueen · 10/07/2026 08:46

Same @MoneyJo, I would be happy at the lower end of overweight to be honest!

Yes!

I was reading somewhere that women are better off being25-27 BMI when they get older. (I’m assuming we are mostly ladies here!). And also there is the weight of any loose skin to consider too. So I’m not fixating on BMI and will see how I feel and look when/if I get there. Nice to check off some milestones along the way though! Under 25 seems like a pipe dream to me, but frankly so did under 40 when I started jabbing. So who knows!

Junmaro · 10/07/2026 12:55

The hope we’ve got from this injection is miraculous! I once dieted down to my current weight, but the mental effort was just so gruelling, and of course I couldn’t stick it out and put it all back on. I feel so encouraged, I’ve lost nearly 2 stone, but I has been so easy compared to to Mother Nature’s way.

MoneyJo · 10/07/2026 20:42

I just used the last dose of my 5mg and 10 clicks from my new 7.5 pen to make 6.25. I would like just a bit more help now but hoping I don't need to go higher than that for a while.

Same here! Not fixating on BMI, I’m 2 pounds away from being overweight after being in the obese category and that’s my short term target.
I’m also worried about loose skin, my arms not good already. I’m using lots of firming body lotion and trying to lift heavier weights but I think they may be a lost cause!

You’re doing amazing SmallTree.

MoneyJo · 12/07/2026 12:09

I posted about this in the 5stone or more to lose thread but I had a week away from home where I couldn't weigh, stuck to my new patterns as much as possible but had several meals out. I did walk a lot.

Anyway I came back to find I had lost a pound, then lost another pound then next day and another the next day. I've never lost 3 lb so fast. I do wonder if it's linked to coming from colder temperatures to warm or something but really I'm just making that up!

So I am now down 2stone 5 since starting MJ in March, and down 3stone 10 since I cut down on sugar and snacking.

ShebaQueen · 12/07/2026 12:30

@rockstarshoes I also feel that loose skin is inevitable, I haven't got much yet, and I am battling it as much as I can, whilst trying to accept that it's the price I will pay for getting so fat in the first place.

Amazing @MoneyJo! You are definitely doing the right things. No idea if your theory is correct or not, but either way, it's a win!

taratill · 13/07/2026 09:24

Morning all! I've had a busy few days. I seem to have now contracted a summer cold and I've gone off track a bit with eating cleanly and walking.

Going to refocus today.

That is what this drug enables I think, previously losing focus has led to failed diet.

I injected yesterday and feel a bit sick today which is probably a mix of the cold and the food I've consumed.

Well done everyone on losses this week!

MoneyJo · 13/07/2026 10:59

I love that @taratill and I totally agree. One day of partying would have led me to a decline but now I am far more able to start again the next day with no problem. No idea how the drug helps with that but it does.

Beehivebabe · 13/07/2026 16:21

Hi everyone, busy here too as we have sold our house very quickly but the one we wanted to buy sold the same day to someone else 😖 so now on a mission to find somewhere!
Well done on everyone keeping the motivation going! @MoneyJoI think you are right because the same happened to me after my last holiday, i came back 5lbs up and within days had lost that and an extra 3lbs!!
@taratill wishing you better! I sometimes feel a bit sick the day after jabbing too. I actually managed to jab myself at the weekend usually my husband does it for me!
Anyway back to Rightmove 😅

also do we need to start a new thread soon?

Beehivebabe · 13/07/2026 16:24

Oh another 1lb off so 3stone 9lbs in old money 🥰 wonder how much of that will go back on next week haha

It's all a bit of a mystery when it comes to holidays and weight loss I think!

I love Rightmove! We last moved 13 years ago but I still get the email updates every time a house in our area comes on the market.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 14/07/2026 09:08

Oh @Beehivebabe the stress! You poor thing. Good luck with it all, try not to panic or rush. Even if you have to rent a while it's worth it to get the right place, and you are a cash buyer now so it will be easier.

I'd be interested to know how you cope with a stressful period now v before WLIs. This has always been my first enemy. I eat to cope with stress especially sugar and when the stressful time eases I'm left with excess weight and bad habits and routines and a massive appetite. I think part of it was not having the mental capacity to have an argument with myself 200 times a day, which is how I managed to lose or maintain before WLIs. I just gave in to each craving. Life has been quite good and stable since I started WLIs so I haven't really been challenged yet

Beehivebabe · 14/07/2026 23:03

@MoneyJo I love Rightmove too! Actually been browsing for 2 years knowing we would move one day!

@Dontlletmedownbruce my stress levels have shown in my nails sadly. I can’t diet, move house and leave my nails alone 😬

taratill · 15/07/2026 08:56

Morning all!

The excesses clearly didn't do much harm as I'm a kg down on this time last week. I'm still feeling off, I'm wondering if it's the increased dose, this is the second 5mg jab and I have been feeling a bit like I did when I first started on 2.5, but I suppose it could be a coincidence.

@Beehivebabe , I hope you find a house soon, what bad luck that you just missed on the one you had an eye on. For me I've always emotionally eaten or picked at nails. I found regular biabs have stopped me from doing that!

@MoneyJo I'm glad you had a fast loss on returning home. Sometimes these things are a mystery. I'm a pound lighter than yesterday. No idea how or why especially given that I barely moved yesterday (approx 4k steps).

@SmallTreeDeepRoots and @ShebaQueen I think you are both right about BMI. I'm big boned. I probably would look ill if I go too low. I think I'm going to see how it goes.

@Dontlletmedownbruce congratulations!

@rockstarshoes you'll get there soon. I feel that it is a really good short term goal. I don't seem to be suffering too much with loose skin at the moment but i do have a tummy full of stretch marks so it may well be an issue in the future.

@Junmaro at this point MJ does feel like a bit of a miracle!

MoneyJo · 15/07/2026 09:51

It's all a bit of a mystery isn't it? That's why we need this group I guess, for mutual encouragement when it doesn't quite make sense!
