@MoneyJo yes first jab 4th March although I started properly dieting on the 2nd March in preparation. I lost a lb between the Monday and Wednesday lol. Thank you. I really wish I started it a year before when I first started thinking about it. Would have been cheaper too!!

So NSV, son noticed and said I look amazing!

It's made my day!

Love this!

Brilliant!
Oh me too. I read the thread for people with more than 5 stone to lose (and also the 10 stone one although I don't fit that category) and it's so encouraging to see how far people have come.
At least we have started now!

taratill · 19/06/2026 09:31

@Darkspiderplant I think I will try to remain on a really low dose because of other benefits. My IBS has totally disappeared, to me, that is worth the cost of the jabs. It's a tough one though, I suppose you could try without and see how it goes.

@Dontlletmedownbruce I can't imagine you have actually regained 4 lbs in a week, could it be water weight, it's quite warm at the moment? I also gain and lose, I weigh every day and there is a funny pattern of up and down all week, but the general trend is down.

@Beehivebabe my daughter is doing a sports BTEC at the moment and she's really good at advising on appropriate exercise. At the moment I don't have any weights or go to the gym so I am trying to do a little bit of strength exercise using my body weight. To start with she advised for legs sitting on a dining room chair and raising to standing 10 x3 reps and for arms wall press ups 10 x 3. I've now 'graduated' to standing squats as the the standing had lost benefits and kitchen counter press ups. I think once I get a few more pounds off I'll probably invest in some weights or a kettlebell.

@MoneyJo thanks, DS can be a sweetie! It's cheered me up having him and his GF here, such a shame their visit is brief but they have busy lives!

I'm annoyed because I've managed to split a BIAB nail half way down the nail bed so I've no idea how that can be resolved/ fixed, I've got an appointment later today so wish me luck.

MoneyJo · 19/06/2026 09:34

I weigh daily but today is jab day and the weight I record. Down 1 lb. So that's two weeks of losing 1lb a week. A bit disappointed after steadily losing 2lb a week for the last few months. However I've done very little exercise so I do need to prioritise that. And at least it's still a loss, not a gain!

taratill · 19/06/2026 10:39

1lb is a good loss in a week though @MoneyJo. It's sustainable.

MoneyJo · 19/06/2026 10:57

It's ok isn't it? I'd like to keep to 2lb but it's a long game. Thank you.

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 19/06/2026 12:17

Goodness -I come back to the thread after a few days and it’s all going on!

Fab nsv @taratill ! How lovely of your son to notice AND mention it.

Amazing progress @Beehivebabe !

It’s all good @MoneyJo - a loss is a loss is a loss. It is disappointing when you get used to a rate of progress and it slows. I was pretty consistent with 1kg a week but it’s tailing off now. Will probably go up to 3.75, but not sure how much of it is me being more relaxed as the novelty wears off and how much is the natural slowing as the easy initial losses are achieved. But all progress is progress and we will get there if we keep going!

Snoringdogsfarting · 19/06/2026 12:46

Good job everyone on the loses, it’s hard work regardless of what people think. The jabs aren’t doing it all for us, we have to work at it too!
I’ve lost 36lbs since starting on March 13th which is alright but I’m big so apparently easier 🤷🏼‍♀️
Ive lost before, put some on, lost again - up and down all the time over the years but this time I’m not aiming for a daft loss, maybe another 10lbs so just a comfortable one which I now plan to maintain forever.
Also want to add I do NO exercise, just live my life with no exercise expectations as I don’t keep it up .
I do have trouble with lasting a full week before feeling starving - usually have 4 really good days then downhill from there feeling more and more famished days 5,6 &7.
No one has commented on my loss but that’s because people know I go up and down. up and down . Only down this time though 🙃

taratill · 19/06/2026 15:42

@SmallTreeDeepRoots thanks! Are you still losing on 2.5? There is a school of thought that there is no need to increase if you are, but a lot of people go up anyway in line with the schedule or because they want to speed things up.

I went up to 3.75 because I'd stopped losing altogether and am sticking with it for now as it is still working.

@Snoringdogsfarting what dose are you currently on. 36lbs since march is amazing loss. Well done!

In nail news the tech has done a fix. Dont know how long it will last!

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 19/06/2026 16:09

@taratill Yes still on 2.5 and it has been great, but only lost 0.5kg in the last 3 weeks. Weigh in day tomorrow and I will make a decision. I still have a lot to lose (prob 6 stone) so it feels a bit early days to be really slowing down. Defo getting snackier too - not sure if that is the running or mj habituation. I’ve resisted increasing so far, wanting to go low and slow, but if I don’t lose anything this week, will change next pen to 5 and click count something in between. What’s your dose and how’s it feeling?

Snoringdogsfarting · 19/06/2026 16:13

@taratill
I’ve been on 5 for maybe 3 weeks and don’t want to go up. I had disastrous side effects when I went from 2.5 to 5 and had to drop to 3.75 for a bit. I don’t want to increase and get that poorly again tbh so think I will stick with 5 for a while and try and ignore the famished feelings I’m getting by the end of the week as best I can 🥹 Need to order my next pen, wonder who is cheapest atm 🤔

Beehivebabe · 19/06/2026 17:39

@taratill thanks for those exercises, everywhere I’m going atm In the house I’m adding a bit of exercise in 😅
it all helps!
@MoneyJo a lb off is better than on, and mine has slowed down too.
@Snoringdogsfarting. I think the same, people are so used to me gaining and losing they don’t comment! Also I’m still wearing the same clothes more or less, they are just getting baggier, so perhaps it will notice more when I get in smaller clothes?!
Hope everyone is ok and looking forward to a roasting weekend ☀️

Dontlletmedownbruce · 20/06/2026 09:57

@taratillit's crazy, 4lb is Christmas or Summer holiday. Not a random week in June. The 4lb loss the previous week was a mystery too. I usually lose 1lb. I get a body scan weigh and with all the up and downs I actually lost 1lb of fat so I'm going to see it that way. At the end of the day it's fat I'm trying to lose. I've noticed my bum and thighs are decreasing all the time so that's what I'm going to focus on.

I bought a multi pack of 4 Freddos last night to share at home. What harm can a bit of chocolate do to me, right? I ate the entire multi pack before I got home. This is why the 'little bit of what you fancy' approach doesn't work for me. It was a good reminder to stay on track.

Darkspiderplant · 20/06/2026 10:09

Is anyone considering the tablets? Are they going to be any cheaper?

MoneyJo · 20/06/2026 10:20

Darkspiderplant · 20/06/2026 10:09

Not considering them so far as it's just Wegovy imminently I think, plus it doesn't look like they will be cheaper from the email I had.

taratill · 20/06/2026 15:10

@SmallTreeDeepRoots I'm on 3.75 at the moment. I'd stalled on 2.5 and I've just taken 5th dose of 3.75 and I'm losing around 1-2lb per week. Until it stalls I'm staying with this. No real SE for me on this dose so all good for now. I think if I were you I'd increase may be by a half dose?

@Snoringdogsfarting (great username btw!) I'm not sure about who does the cheapest at the moment. I think there is a price comparison website maybe?

@Beehivebabe my dogs think I've lost it as I'm either walking or doing the strength stuff every other day. I'm now trying for 15000 steps per day instead of the 10000, Managed it the last 3 days! I reckon people either have noticed but don't want to mention it or will notice once your in smaller clothes. I'm in the same clothes they just hang much better on my now than when I carried almost 2 stone more.

@Dontlletmedownbruce Yes I'd just focus on the NSV, my bum is also smaller but I'm worried about a flat bum so I'm trying to do extra squats lol! I LOVE Freddie frogs ,I've not had any chocolate at all since March, but to be fair my problem was savoury snacks like crisps, I just don't really fancy them at all now I"m on MJ. It's like magic!

@Darkspiderplant like @MoneyJo I'm not as it's not MJ. I wouldn't want to change drugs as I'd be worried about losing the benefit of getting rid of IBS symptoms, so for now I don't intend to change.

So it's not boiling hot here @Beehivebabe , I feel like I've been conned by the weather man, it's been overcast most of the day. So far today I've done my strength exercises and just over 11k of the 15k steps whilst listening to the first strike book again and listening to the corresponding Strike and Ellacott Files podcasts.

DD has gone off to a cricket match but I haven't gone to watch because DH has just got back from a week at MILS and she's also playing tomorrow and Monday so I'm going to have plenty of time sitting on the side of a field.

The issue I have with cricket is picnics. I used to have all the lovely snacks while watching and now my picnic is protein based!

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 21/06/2026 12:16

Thanks @taratill . I’m going to go up a half dose to 3.75. I went up 0.1kg this week, so not only is that a whopping 0.4kg lost in the last 4 weeks, but I am now back on 100kg. Was so pleased to get to double figs!

But on the positives I have stretched out being on 2.5 to the max. My BP is still in the healthy range. I am sticking to exercising in a way I have never managed before - class every day, run every other day, weights, swim several times a week. I have lost 15.4kg and haven’t been this weight for well over 10 years. So it’s all good, just time for the next stage.

MoneyJo · 24/06/2026 08:34

Just posted this in the group for people with more than 5 stone to lose but interested to hear any experience here too.

Down a pound today. I've slowed down the last 3 weeks to one pound from two pounds a week. I've just ordered a 7.5 pen and I'm thinking of doing one jab of 5 and 4 of 6.25 from it.

Do you think a dose increase of 1.25 will make any difference to me?

taratill · 24/06/2026 10:25

How's everyone doing in the heat?

I was up at 6 to get a good dog walk in before the heat came. Did 10K and now I'm knackered!

@SmallTreeDeepRoots you'll be back to below 100kg in no time. I've gone up a kg in the heat the last couple of days. It can't be fat so I think it's water retention. I saw a Sally Gunnell video where she explained that we retain water in the heat to help our bodies and organs function properly!

I would go up to 3,75 if you think you're stalling though. I've found this dose the sweet spot for now.

@moneyjo I'd say go up in the way you have suggested. There's no need to go straight to 7.5 if you don't need to and the option is there for you still if you don't see a change at 6.25.

I cracked the stone & a half on Friday! 1 stone 8lb to be exact!
i’m away this week, in the UK so will see how I get on! I already shared a medium pepperoni pizza with DH in a pub garden last night so I fear not very well! Blush

Congratulations on the loss!

How wonderful to be on holiday this week in this weather. Hope you're having a fab week.

Also hope you enjoyed the pizza, got to relax a bit on holiday!

ShebaQueen · 25/06/2026 15:25

Hello everyone, I've been on holiday for a week, but have now caught up on everyone's posts. Congrats on the losses, regardless of how small, and for those who have stayed the same, hang on in there! From reading some of the other threads, it does seem that a slow down in weight loss is quite common 3 months in.
I jabbed the day before I went and had my usual 48 hours of headache and nausea (I'm on 5mg), but after that all good. Weighed this morning and have only put on 700g. Feels amazing as normally on holiday I would massively over-indulge. This time I found it easy to stay in control, although I definitely ate more than I would have at home, plus I had a glass of rose or a G&T every now and then, but not every day. Didn't feel deprived at all, what a win!
@taratill just thinking about your broken nail feels painful. I hope it has been saved!

taratill · 25/06/2026 15:46

Oooh @ShebaQueen holiday sounds great and very relaxing. Where did you go? 700g is very minimal, you'll be back on track in no time.

Thanks for asking about my nail. She did a good job just covering with Biab and i had all nails cut short. But yesterday when i was walking the dogs I knocked it again so it's back to square one. currently covered with a plaster half hanging off. I need another 2/3 weeks growth I think for it not to affect the nail bed. At the moment it's not painful at all but it will be if I catch it and tear it out by accident.

I'm suffering a bit in the heat today. I feel a bit bloated i think because I'm drinking so much water to stay hydrated. I did a long walk again this morning so dogs are happy. I'm hoping it cools down soon.

i saw my sister in law earlier when I was out walking the dogs, she's lost loads of weight, probably around 5 stone. I don't see her often, even though she lives close and she always wore baggy clothes. She looks amazing. I didn't have the courage to ask if it is the jabs, but I expect so!

ShebaQueen · 25/06/2026 17:57

We went to Menorca @taratill, absolutely beautiful and not as hot as here! Plus of course there was aircon, the beach, the pool.... Back at work now and I too am hoping it cools down soon. Today feels a little bit better, but tomorrow is looking very very hot.
Here's a NSV for you all, I wonder if anyone else has experienced the same - I am actually in some of our holiday photos! I always avoid them, and often volunteer to take the photo rather than be in it, but this time I smiled for the camera, and I look ok!
The other victory was on the plane. I haven't ever had to ask for the seatbelt extender, but I have sometimes had to breathe in to let the tray table down. No such problems this time, and it feels amazing!
Re your SiL, I tend to think (maybe unfairly) that anyone who has lots a lot of weight is on the jabs, but like you, I never ask. I've been very open about being on them, but fully appreciate that there are lots of reasons why people might keep it private.
