Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we spring into spring not obsessing over Easter Eggs for the second year 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!
I’m on W68 D6 and on w12 of 2.5mg maintenance dose.

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far at lowest weight was 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0) maintenance has seen 4 of those pounds go back on.

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style/vinted chat too 🤗

Ouch, your sister sounded pretty mean. I think MounjaroPen has probably nailed where that incredibly critical reaction was coming from, but I can appreciate that logically identifying the source doesn’t automatically reduce the sting!

People can be so weird about weight loss, especially if they get it in their heads that you’re defying your “natural” shape. I’ve got off fairly lightly on that because my weight gain was so relentless & obvious that for most family & friends my weight loss has been mostly framed as me “going back,” but I did see a locum GP a few months ago who had not even looked at my record before he was lecturing me about needing to learn to cope without WLI. It was so strange - just before I’d started on them I was getting the “You know, you need to eat less and exercise more” lecture from my usual doctor, now it’s a “you’re doing it wrong” lecture. He hadn’t even looked at how much I’m on or my total weight pattern over the past decade. It was clearly just a bugbear on his part and really quite unprofessional. I just sort of smiled and nodded and then got onto talking about the eczema on my left hand that I was actually in to talk about!

Bloody hell - that locum sounds very at odds with the dr’s I’ve met that are fascinated by the WLJ. I’ve tried ‘learning to live without them’ as well-documented on here. MJ obviously does something in the background for me hormonally so no, I can’t just ‘learn to live without them’ at all. I’m fine with that. We all know our bodies best and given the fact that this is a drug originally meant for long term use for diabetes (and I’m guessing his advice to a diabetic would not be to ‘learn to live without them’!) he does sound like he has a bed in his bonnet somewhere.

You are doing brilliantly 💪

Urgh I didnt know that about Harvey Nics - how disappointing!! @Mounjaropen

I would like a pair of leather trousers next but I'm trying to be good and not buy lots. I'm enjoying having a clutter-free wardrobe at the moment! That will most likely change as the temperate plummets though

Apparently the M&S ones are good value and selling out as soon as they are stocked. Might be worth starting there? If you’ve not had leather trousers before be mindful of the fact that they stretch and nothing will get them back to how they were new so if you’re on the edge of a sizing dilemma, pick the smaller size.

@PresidentBarklett If you want to know what ‘reta’ is… Anyone taking an unapproved drug’s dupe really isn’t in a position to be commenting about anyone else’s supposedly health damaging behaviours…

“The jab has not yet been approved for human use by any regulatory body.

But illicit, counterfeit dupes of retatrutide are currently flooding the black market.”

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwyz7lrwqdyo

Thank you for sharing. There has been an Alarming amount of threads on the WL section about ‘Reta’ like it’s an actual licensed product. Absolutely lethal catnip for the ‘I get medical advice from Tikkytoks’ brigade..

Hello everyone. Just approaching Year 1 of maintaining and had been doing OK but have put on 6 pounds over the summer and all my lovely new clothes are starting to feel tight. I have recently increased my MJ dose but doesn't seem to be working! Help. Has anyone turned things around? I think I am stressed about putting on weight and it fuels the whole stress eating!

You know this…Back to basics… monitor your protein intake, water intake and up your movement. 6lbs is nothing after a summer 😉 don’t shop when you’re hungry, meal prep lunches for work, keep prepped veggies, fruit and hard boiled eggs in the fridge so you can grab those rather than crisps etc. if you can’t trust yourself around junk food, remove it from the house.

You’ve got this 💪

Hello all

Upped to 12.5 this week, dreaded burps are back. Appetite gone. Have to be careful to not eat a snack lunch too late and not having anything else.
Despite that, still stalled.

Went to the doctors finally last week about my arms not working, he thinks it’s muscle wastage from the weight loss. But also I’m super tense.
Have physio next week, exercises to try and been told to exercise.
So eat your protein people and don’t be as lazy as me 😁
Im glad it’s something I can work on and am hopefully. Have joined the gym at my new flat (well had my induction not actually worked out).

After 4 years of intense stress, I’m finally through the other side and my brain is beginning to free up the space to take care of myself.

@PinkArtbig congrats on the 11s!!!! That’s amazing you skinny thing.

Ahh good to hear you are focusing on yourself. I know exactly how you feel after years of stress caring for elderly parents. Time to focus on yourself.

I’d explore adding essential amino acids to your routine to help metabolise your protein into muscle. I take the Pvolve one (of course 😂) post work out. I also added creatine (capsules not powder as this can affect your teeth health) to try and rebuild my muscle tone. It does take time and consistency is key but my bum is back 💪

I’m here with a chirpy fluffy update (DH news still mostly static).

Autumn wise I’ve found I’m having to refresh a few wardrobe bits after my body shrinking over the summer (both the weight loss and then some apparent rearranging over time!). After trading in two big bags of clothes to Lloop they’ve given me over £200 of credit so have gotten some things from there for me and DS. It’s definitely early days there in terms of adult stock but I did get two beautiful Mint Velvet dresses and a pair of wide leg Boden jeans (with lots of credit left) so am pleased with that so far. As usual Vinted has been my playground (both selling and buying) and yesterday I was very excited to find that a risqué purchase of the Seasalt Janele in a size 8 (!) in a lovely teal colour fits wonderfully! New with tags for £42. I’ve also had a nice navy Joules waterproof raincoat nwt for around £24. In actual shop purchases I’ve bought two pairs of sale price adidas SL72 OG (so comfy), one in a pretty purple Liberty fabric and the other in an autumnal brown, maroon and lavender colour way.

After much deliberation about the decadence of a beauty advent calendar I decided bumholes to the thought of being sensible, but in a mildly mitigating fashion signed up to the Liberty Beauty Drop in August and with my mini credit and £25 discount this helped me buy the Liberty advent calendar which is beautiful.

Today my lovely friends helped me assemble a new bed for my DS and also took a load of my crap to the tip which I’m so grateful for. I did provide sustenance in terms of coffee, biscuits and pizza, with a bottle of nice wine to take home too. So am feeling happier than normal this evening. Getting DS to sleep in it will be a challenge as he’s so clingy with me at the moment but at least progress is being made!

Ahh lovely to read your update! I’ve been lucky enough to have been bought the liberty calendar for the past few years by DH (the first year he bought it for me I was in the middle of the caring years, stressed out by a toxic sibling and I was so touched I burst into tears) and it is a lovely treat. Join the Liberty calendar opening thread on here, it’s a lovely positive thread. If there is anything you don’t use, it sells well on Vinted too.

the clothing sounds fab! I’m going to get investigating the loop thing too. Thanks for the tip.

sending love to your DH 💐

Much better now, thank you. After talking to a fair few, less biased, people, I'm quite confident that I look fine.

I'm pretty angry though and not particularly up for the idea of seeing her any time soon. Luckily, we live fairly far away from each other so it's a bridge I can cross when we come to it.

I haven’t interacted with mine for more than two years now. My life is calmer and richer for it. My genuine sisters are my friends who uplift and support me. Sibling relationships are complicated. Mine crossed a line you can’t come back from so that was that. Sometimes the situation resolves itself and the drama abates. Keep being you 💐

I'm a terrible influence for making people around my buy non essential but absolutely worth it items and I wholeheartedly support your advent calendar buying! The items in this year's that I already own are all gorgeous (if you're avoiding spoilers there is a lip product in there that is amazing) and I'm only not buying it because my beauty stash really needs a room of its own already.

I hear you on that 😂 I’ve been very good this year on trying to use what I have before buying more. Sadly I discovered Vicky B’s foundation so any savings I made were lost there 😂

Dh and I have just had a night away in a lovely spa hotel. What a difference to a few years ago. I was happy in my body, wore a bikini and the towel didn't feel too small around me. It was such a contrast to feeling like a whale in the pool. Had such lovely time.

My maintenance plan with oushk is coming to an end. Does anyone have any recommendations on a good flexible provider? I'm currently on 5mg about every 10 days for £169 so would be great to get it a bit cheaper with less faff.

I’ve been happy with Pharmulous (no maintenance programme but they will prescribe for my BMI) but I think all providers are monitoring use of MJ outside of the full dose each week so you might struggle to get another 5mg pen rather than a 2.5 especially since the pens now only have 4 doses.

Congratulations on the bikini wearing confidence! 👏👏👏

Hi all, first time poster in this thread but long time reader
I’m really ashamed of myself. Let myself go massively I’m 23 stone (BMI 54) at 25 years old. I’m a single mum to two children and just have been comfort eating more and more recently. It’s time I start giving this a real go, for my health and for my children.
I lost weight after my first son, I was 22 stone and got down to 16 stone - I have very large breasts so although this is still very large numbers wise, I actually looked really good and the weight was proportionate! It took 2 years and a hell of a lot of work and commitment.
I don’t have AS much willpower this time round, but I have a bit, hoping that going on mounjaro will help kickstart me into that mindset again and have a healthier relationship with food. I’m not expecting miracles, and I am willing to put in the work. Whilst I don’t have scope to go to the gym (funds limited and no childcare) I am going to walk more and eat more consciously and healthier.
I guess my main concerns are side effects… have heard many horror stories.
And also maintenance price, when I look at the 15mg price my heart stops! I can budget for around 7.5mg but anything more than that would mean sacrificing a lot in my monthly budget. Does everyone go to the max doses or can you stay on a lower dose and still have successful weight loss?
Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any help xx

Welcome! No need to be ashamed here.

Firstly, well done on taking the first step. We’re all here to help you. Secondly, your body might react differently to MJ to anyone else’s experience on here - everyone is different. So yes you can stay on low doses and provided you genuinely overhaul your diet and exercise you can stay on the low doses and continue to lose weight. How is your diet? What do you like to eat? How much water do you drink per day? How much do you move?

re:exercise, start slowly. You don’t need to join a gym or have expensive equipment- body weight- bearing exercises are perfectly possible. That said, check out anything going free on FB marketplace - such as weights, a step or kettlebells. There are loads of free online exercise classes like Joe Wicks etc. Set yourself a daily step target and up it each month to get to 10k consistently.

Nutrition wise - prioritise protein, whole foods and try and limit sugar to avoid insulin spikes. ChatGPT will help you devise a meal and recipe plan if you tell it a budget, which supermarket you shop at and tell it what you like to eat. You’ll need to understand your body’s TDEE (there are online calculators) so you understand what calorie intake you can have to achieve weight loss (spoiler alert - it’s lower than you think!) MJ is not a silver bullet, you won’t lose weight simply by taking it, you need to consider this a lifestyle reset.

side effects: everyone is different. If you drink plenty of water and eat plenty of natural fibre consumed through whole foods you should avoid constipation. Taking MJ in the evening before bed works for me because if I were to be nauseous it’s during the night. You don’t have to up your dose either. If 2.5mg has a hugely suppressant effect you can stay on it until you don’t feel it is working. Then move up to 3.75mg and so on.

Good luck! We’re all here to help,

Have been reading the thread.but nothing to report
I went up to 12.5 ..after coming down from 15 to 12.5 then down to 10 .
Was trying to see if I could move down doses ..but I clearly can't
realised I needed a higher amount as weight is stuck at 14.9
Been about a month of no movement
Frustrated just about covers it

Do a body scan. You might have lost inches?

keep going, these are the slog days. You’ve got this 💪

Either way I have an appointment with a physio this week.

I’ve noticed that as well - they seem to be paying attention to how often you order now and anything that looks like you’re stretching out your pens gets an enquiring email. Which has been fine, I’ve been sitting happily at 5mg but it does make it harder to play around and work out if I would maintain just as effectively at 2.5mg!

RM attempted to deliver on the Weds, at the one time I’d popped out. The delivery note said they’d try again the next day. No attempt made on the Thursday so late Thursday evening I put a redelivery request in for the Friday. No reattempt at delivery until yesterday. 12 days later. I have no way of knowing where the pen was or what conditions it was kept in. As yesterday was apparently day 10 since the delivery request date, that is inline with their contract to resolve issues with Pharmulous.

if we assume the pen is safe out of the fridge for 30 days, it arrived 13 days into that timeframe. Meaning the 4 doses can’t be used.

How is your DH doing? Thinking of you all 💐

Heart transplant took place yesterday! 😱 Nerve wracking time. He is stable at the moment 🤞

I’m going to see him this morning (he won’t know, he’s completely out of it and prob will be until the weekend) but it will help me. It’s a critical time now but at least step one has happened.

Yesterday was a bit mad, it was DS’s first day at reception (at literally the time surgery was starting). Then when I got home after drop off a man had turned up to fit a new side gate for me (we hadn’t confirmed exact dates etc). Bizarre day!
