Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we spring into spring not obsessing over Easter Eggs for the second year 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!
I’m on W68 D6 and on w12 of 2.5mg maintenance dose.

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far at lowest weight was 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0) maintenance has seen 4 of those pounds go back on.

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style/vinted chat too 🤗

Checking in, Thanks for the new thread!

Reporting for duty! Thanks for the new (and very aptly titled) thread!

Recap:

SW 16 stone 7
CW 9 stone 12
GW it was 11 ish, then 10.5, then 10, so I think I’m more or less there! I want to stay under 10 stone. I’ll be intrigued to see if I can get closer to 9 stone 7.

Biggest NSV - the clothes! Rediscovering a love for fashion.

Hello all, I’m a lurker and very occasional poster on your threads. I’m hoping I can get some advice from you all. I’m early 50s and have slowly gone from 15st 6 to 11st 12. I probably need to lose another stone/stone and a half though I honestly don’t know. Eating for me has always been about managing feelings - big feelings, small feelings I’m not fussy! I still have a LOT of work to do on that. There's a whole new identity I need to get my head round! I’m really stuck at the moment though with clothes. I don’t know what to wear! I like clothes - see user name - I want to be current, but I realise I’ve spent so long making do that I’m now rubbish at knowing what I like and what suits me. I’m a different size and shape and I don’t know how to dress it. I also don’t know what I should be wearing. It’s all very well saying wear what you like and what’s comfortable - a frequent refrain in the S&B boards - but I want to dress well and make the most of where I’ve got to. Have any of you struggled with this? I think it’s a double whammy of a more difficult age to dress and a different body as well.

DarkForces · 28/02/2026 12:50

@Iwantniceclothes I know exactly what you mean about getting used to a different body shape. I buy things from Vinted and am finding my new style. I don't spend much though so when I'm not happy I've only lost a tenner. Could you try getting a few bits from there seeing what you wear regularly and then investing in the things you'll keep once you've found your preferred styles?

DarkForces · 28/02/2026 12:52

I've found I need a waistline, nothing too low but ad my boobs have decreased and am happy to wear short skirts (not too shirt though as I'm 47) with long boots. I live in jeggings and tops mostly. I'm definitely not fashionable though

PinkArt · 28/02/2026 13:07

@Iwantniceclothes While you're finding your style again, would it help take the pressure off by buying a few of your older clothes in smaller sizes on Vinted? Not as a permanent solution but just so you get used to how smaller you looks and moves in clothes while you work out what you really want to buy.
Your post is very relatable. I've always described myself as very hourglass, with long legs. But when I was 19+ stone that wasn't actually an accurate description any more. My legs had chunked out so much that they didn't read as especially long. And I'd put on so much weight around my middle that I wasn't actually hourglass. I had curves all over the place but no actual hourglass silhouette any more.
Now I'm rediscovering my old body shape I'm so much more excited about dressing it. I'm working out what still works for me from clothes that have languished under the bed for a decade and what I want to buy new. Vinted has been so useful for the latter as a cheaper way to experiment.

Oh and thanks for the new thread @Mounjaropen !

👋

Whose style to you admire? Any brands you list after? Maybe start there? Personally I love Self-portrait, Chanel, classic Zara pieces, Nadine Merabi, Gucci, Karen Millen, Taller marmo, 16arlington, halston, Roksanda Balmain and prada. I like to recreate looks using high street pieces. Now I’m thinner I wear more skirts and dresses so my wardrobe has evolved in that way.

first of all though, get the foundation garments right. A nicely placed set of boobs in the right location improves your posture and fitting of clothes. I’d recommend Rigby and peller as a great place to get properly fitted and then go from there.

Keep posting if there’s anything you need help with, we’re kinder than S&B 😂

Hello @Iwantniceclothes , I too can relate to what you’re saying re clothes and styling them.

I don’t want to spend a fortune on clothes as realistically I still want to lose about another stone but I am in no rush to do so as I want my skin to catch up with my weight loss.
I can’t do vinted or charity shops as it gives me the heebie jeebies so I am just getting by on a very limited , small wardrobe of cheap clothes as I grudge paying for clothes that I will donate in 6 months time.
I agree a good supporting bra is first and foremost and I am happy to spend on footwear now that I can see my feet.
I always used to wear short sleeve tops but the top of my arms are too wobbly for that now so all my tops have at least 3/4 length sleeves.

RayonSunrise · 28/02/2026 16:38

Hello @iwantniceclothes,you’re in good company here!

I so know what you mean about suddenly rediscovering your interest in style but feeling like you don’t know yourself or what suits. I went through a phase, after everything felt like it looked bad, to suddenly everything looked so much better I was just happy to Wear Clothes While Thinner, and now I’m finally starting to rebuild my wardrobe with things that really suit me. I went out and did some body type analysis, and realised that the most important things for me are honouring my broad shoulders and wide-set bust, which for me means waist definition and open collars (v, wrap, square) or high necks with no sleeves. It’s been an interesting process and ai have tried a LOT of things on in a lot of shops and kept a set of pics on my phone so I can compare what does and doesn’t work. One of the benefits of this is I’ve been able to identify shapes that work, or specific brands and sizes, and then scour Vinted for them.

Iwantniceclothes · 28/02/2026 16:47

Oh you all are just the best! Thank you all so much for taking time to respond. In my quick read through every one of you has given me something new to think about it and real insight. I’m going to read through again later and think on! You’re def a much nicer - and dare I say wiser and more savvy bunch - than a lot of what I see on S&B. I love seeing all the clothes you are looking at and buying. If you don’t mind I’m going to come back and pick your brains again later!

Eugh, guys, I am struggling terribly with the nausea. It feels like morning sickness, not like normal, every day nausea. If you know you know I suppose as I can’t explain it.

Im on 10 mgs, I’ve not gone up because of the nausea. I’m 7 months in with very limited weight loss despite feeling so so sick for around 4 days out of the 7 and eating very very little.

Any top tips on how to combat this?

Welcome!

Very little weight loss means you are simply not in a calorie deficit (simply put you need to move more or consume less calories) or your body has gone into starvation mode because you are not eating enough. What do your macros say? Are you monitoring your food intake?

nausea can be settled with ginger-based foods (try a lemon and ginger tea) or by eating little and often. Are you getting enough water?

Don’t despair, we can all help.

Marking my place! Thanks for thr new thread @Mounjaropen - hope the hangover has eased!

@thesofathatwas I find drinking more water helps with nausea or I have read that sipping hot water with some honey can help.

Oceangrey · 28/02/2026 19:53

Hi new thread!
A day of eating today, I made a big family lunch for my son's birthday. But didn't have breakfast and won't have much dinner.

Clothes... I find I'm turned off some of the styles I used to go for like wrap dresses and tea dress type shapes. They still look great on me as I'm an hourglass with big boobs but I'm kind of associating them with the times when I had to pick clothes purely based on what would fit. The boobs still rule out a lot but I'm definitely drawn towards different shapes than before, and more separates than dresses.

Reporting for duty my fellow November 24 homies.

🔔📣🔔📣🔔📣🔔📣🔔📣 @Mounjaropen klaxon for the new thread.

@Iwantniceclothes I got excited when I reached size 16 and bought too much that I have now sold on Vinted. Learnt my lesson so when I hit size 14 I bought only a few items waiting for size 12 which is wear I am for a lot of things though I still have a little meno-belly. I don’t intend to do any ‘investment pieces’ until I am firmly a size 12/10. Most of my tops are 3/4 length sleeves @lovealongbath . Sourced when on discount from places such as Weird Fish / SeaSalt. Also M&S have some plain clothes in reasonable colours and not those horrendous patterns which they used to do.

4lbs till I reach a BMI of 24.9 then I probably want another 5lbs so I have a buffer. I am hoping that I will continue to lose weight whilst tritating down. 6 stone down!

Thanks for the new thread @mounjaropen

Quick update from me. 30 weeks on MJ, went from BMI 30 to 23. Had to stop unexpectedly due to stomach issues that turned out not to be MJ related. Been off MJ now for 8 months. Largely maintained my weight but after a lax January and Feb I’m a couple of pounds above my target which I’d like to get off.

I totally understand what you mean about clothes @iwantniceclothes I think it’s a combination of a new size, being in my 50s, and losing my go to shops (warehouse, oasis) which has left me feeling a little lost style wise. My current everyday outfits are wide leg jeans, tight top or a cord skirt. All my life I’ve wanted to be able to wear jeans and a white T-shirt and not look ‘wrong’. And I can do that now. But outside of that I’m not sure what to wear. My friends are talking about going out and dressing up and I honestly have no idea what this looks like as a petite, 54 year old size 8!

Jellybaby30 · 01/03/2026 13:49

Long time since I've checked in! 40kg down since Nov 24 and used to being ' normal' sized again. Ideally would like another 3kg off to get to about 78kg ( I'm over 6ft). Love Reading the fashion chat as I've yet to find my 40s and thin style as been large for 8 years. Feel guilty throwing fat clothes away, think the guilt stems from the shame of getting so large but here we are. Ever grateful for MJ and this group and def planning a year of maintaining before considering coming off, if at all

jay55 · 01/03/2026 13:57

Thanks for new thread. Buying new clothes is a minefield. Dressing to hide bits, that maybe don’t need to be hidden anymore is a lot to get the head around. As well as dealing with the melty wax and general aging

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 01/03/2026 14:56

One of my former students posted some photos of his old school days on my former school’s alumni chat from 10 years ago. Flipping heck I was large then but I reckon I then put on just under another 2 stone. I think I just gave up on noticing how big I had become after so many failed diet attempts. I just seemed to wear dark colours all the time in a vain attempt to look smaller, now I love wearing anything but black.

My latest running jacket is an ivory white as I didn’t want the black option, the only black I have now are some running leggings along with a pair of M&S running shorts which I got off Vinted. Not sure about running shorts yet as I still need to wrap my mind around them but I have lost six stone and they are not short shorts iyswim.

I read the article that our leader @Mounjaropen posted on our last thread. If you subscribe to Apple News you can access it via that as well. I thought it was very interesting and I am quite prepared for a year long maintenance programme once I reach that point or forever long it will take for my body to establish a new set point.

Thanks for the reply.

Yep, 2 litres a day of water plus one or two decaf coffees.

Not a fan of hot drinks so forcing them I think will add to the nausea.

I’ve got everything crossed that I will have some loss on this second month of 10mgs. 4lbs in 5 months is bitterly disappointing.
I did think about changing to another family of WLI, but then lost the 4lbs so hoped the MJ was working and I’d found my dose.
I’ll keep going for the time being.

Thesofathatwas · 01/03/2026 16:37

I crashed a previous WLI thread as people just refused to believe that it wasnt working for me, it got really quite nasty.
My question is, has any one come across anyone where it just didn’t work for them?
