Hi, my first WG pen is in the fridge ready to start on 1st January.

Im 56 (57 in Feb) post menopausal and cancer survivor in remission 5 years nearly. still taking cancer prevention medication that I believe that is hindering my weight loss. I just can't seem to lose it no matter how much I try. It took me 5 months to lose 10lb earlier on in the year.

Im 5' 8" so carry my extra weight well.
CW 13stone
TW 11 stone

Whose joining me on this weight loss journey?

I took my third dose this morning

Current stats are:

MJ 2.5mg (planning on staying on 2.5mg for at least another month)
Height: 5ft 3
SW: 13 Stone 9.4lbs
1st week loss: 11lbs
2nd week loss: 2lb
CW: 12 stone 9.4lbs
GW: 9 stone 7

Portion sizes - I decided early on that I needed much better portion control compared to my usual dieting. We recently bought a load of crocks from Ikea and I have found that the small bowl from their range is the perfect portion size for most meals - although I don’t fill it full at breakfast and lunch. As long as I don’t eat more than that at any meal I am finding that I stay pretty full

Except for a bit of trapped wind in week one I haven’t had any side effects! To the ouster above who is putting off dose one just do it - side effects aren’t guaranteed!

Evening all, just checking in and catching up - thread has been busy the past few days!

Congratulations @notcomfortable on the job offer, lovely news.

Some great losses again this week from everyone, amazing work 👏🏼 Weigh in and jab number 3 for me today. Lost 4lb this week, 7lb in total which is the equivalent to 20 medium bananas so the Shotsy app tells me 😂

I’m still undecided about whether to order 5mg for my next pen. Part of me thinks if I’m losing on 2.5mg, why change? But then I think what if it’s just ‘beginners luck’ and down to water weight/eating better after Christmas. Plus with 6st to lose, maybe slower is better?

Rubytoes · 17/01/2026 23:15

I've just ordered my next pen and decided to stuck with 2.5mg. I've been losing weight after 2 jabs, not dramatically but steady progress, and I'm eating less and managing to avoid treats. I had some nausea which was gone after one day, but it was enough to put me off increasing the dose unless I really need to.

intentionals · 18/01/2026 00:43

Still undecided about which dose to get next and boots said I should let them know after my third jab which I have just had. Will let them know on Monday.

for the first two weeks I had good appetite suppression until end of day five and then it came back - not fully and still full after eating smaller amounts. But…what if it wears off and the next month is back to willpower??

However, I wanted to take this really slow and change my habits. I am eating less for sure but I am not getting into an eating “routine”. I think this has to be more of a focus for me now. Does anyone else feel pressure to do it all at once? I read the threads where people say oh yes but they all just gain it back again when they stop and I want to cry. I don’t want to keep dieting and being unhappy forever. But this week I was disappointed I had only lost two pounds - but that is actually really good. It’s hard to keep my brain focused on the slow and steady approach when it is all a bit confusing

If it's helpful, my DH used MH for two months to initially lose a chunk of weight and then was able to go on his own. He's very very slowly losing, but tbh he didn't have much more to go.

He used his time on MJ to establish better eating habits and reestablish regular weight-lifting training. He's never looked better.

I do think you need to use the opportunity of WLI to change your habits long-term, or it will go back on.

2026istheyear · 18/01/2026 09:42

Just put in my new order. Went for 5mg - 2.5 in working well but I wanted to have the option to increase the dose if it does begin to fade but if it doesn’t then will just take half doses.

I take my dose on Friday night and always have most suppression today - I’ve been keeping good notes on the Shotsy app which are really useful to refer back to. Currently supression just then fades a bit but still really good for rest of week - just today I can’t really manage the three smaller meals I can on other days.

I love the equivalent weight loss in bananas!

I just asked ChatGPT to give me something fun in weightloss terms - I’ve lost a stone and it told me I have lost a small jack russel terrier

Apparently I still need to lose a border collie (three stone) and then in total I would have lost a whole golden retriever (4 stone)

Haha, that’s brilliant. I also need to lose four stone - I cannot believe that’s a whole golden retriever 😳

YellowStockings · 18/01/2026 09:58

I've lost 3.2kg. According to ChatGBT:

An example of an animal that weighs about 3.2 kg (around 7 lb) is an average adult domestic cat. Other animals that can be close to 3.2 kg, depending on age and species, include a small rabbit, a young or small breed chicken, or a small dog (like a Chihuahua mix or similar size).

Love that I've had a small breed chicken inside me waiting to be liberated.

YouBelongWithMe · 18/01/2026 10:07

These made me snort!

I am only on w1. I have lost 4lb according to the scales - the equivalent of an overweight adult guinea pig (seems fitting and relatable)

Whatstfpoint · 18/01/2026 10:11

One of my cats weighs almost a stone so when I lost my first one I will have a good idea of how much it is 😂

I didn’t think of that, ordering a 5mg pen but only doing half doses and having the full dose if needed. That makes me feel happier about ordering the 5 and still having options.

Perianth · 18/01/2026 10:18

I’ve lost a golden retriever already! Well, an 8-week old one. Thrilled!

Height - 5ft 9
SW - 16st 8lbs
First week loss - 5lbs

Second jab is in.

Ralphiesaurus · 18/01/2026 11:17

Wow very impressed w Medexpress. Put in my second order mere moments ago - going up to 5mg - and it was "under review" briefly but has now been prescribed. Yay!

No major losses to report yet unlike many on here but def snacking less and finding it easier to resist empty calories. This is a marathon not a sprint, right? My weight fluctuates a lot (up and down) day to day because of menopause and IBS so I think I need to be patient...

Really liking the calm around food though.

Whatstfpoint · 18/01/2026 11:44

Orderd my second pen of W on the lowest dose. After yesterday's shenanigans (half a bar of chocolate) I feel completely stuffed and still haven't eaten. On balance I still ate less than without W. Im still busy changing around foods and portion sizes, so don't want any insane suppression to go back to minimal eating. I have a lot of habits and thinking that need to change so taking it slowly.

I took ages to do my weekly shop yesterday as I kept inspecting new proteins and so on and did buy a few new things.

I’m lurking here.
i lost 3 stone last year mid July to mid October and was maintaining since, but went off the rails over Christmas and gained 9lb in 3 weeks so have restarted 2.5mg.
You have to discard after 30 days out of the fridge, but I always kept mine in the fridge and did 2.5mgfrom a 7.5mg pen by counting clicks (I’d ordered in panic at the price hikes but never needed to increase). Anecdotally I’ve heard some pharmacists advise it lasts longer in the fridge.

ChilledProsecco · 18/01/2026 12:01

Reporting in with a successful Saturday night! And weekend so far in general!

I cooked for my partner & had a tiny portion of spaghetti bolognese. No desserts but shared chocolates at the movies - ate 8-10 chocolate buttons but happy to leave it after that. Had a glass of wine when we got home but only had 1/2 before getting heartburn so stopped.

A small bowl of porridge & banana today & a slow cooker dinner planned.

First weigh-in will be Thursday morning. Am waiting a week before checking as I can sometimes be a bit reactive towards the scales & that can throw me off course.

Whatstfpoint · 18/01/2026 12:25

I ordered from medicine marketplace and had to go through the whole hooha again, including selfie of me on the scales, ID and even a photo of my current prescription. I had provided all this with my first pen. Because I ordered my first pen more than 7 weeks ago I had a provide a brief explanation. Im sure they will approve my order but would definitely not be comfortable with microdosing.

mendandmakedo · 18/01/2026 12:26

Animal comparisons made me laugh. I have lost 4lb after week 1 really happy with that

I had second one yesterday woke this morning feeling a bit bloated. Struggling to eat today. My partner doesn't know I am on it, will surely notice if I am not eating as much as normal.I am going to continue with 2.5mg.

Does anyone order to postoffice? I am with medex and they offer this. Think this would be less stressful than risking it being received by someone else at home.

Yes it seems pretty clear on everything I’ve read that guidance is to discard after 30 days, whether stored in or out of the fridge. I’m sure some people have gone beyond this without issues, but would be at your own risk 🤷‍♀️. I think I’d be too scared!

Some people do use them for over 30 days and keep it in the fridge. I will just throw it away at 30 days. It was only slightly more expensive that a 2.5 mg pen so I didn’t mind the extra cost in return for having the optionality.

My DH doesn’t know either - I don’t think he wouldn’t open my post so I still have it sent here

The box was way bigger than I thought it would be so I think he might have been a bit suspicious - but it did arrive late on a Saturday - mid week would be better as he works late so I am planning my next order more carefully
