BG2015 · 26/12/2025 11:58

Hi, my first WG pen is in the fridge ready to start on 1st January.

Im 56 (57 in Feb) post menopausal and cancer survivor in remission 5 years nearly. still taking cancer prevention medication that I believe that is hindering my weight loss. I just can't seem to lose it no matter how much I try. It took me 5 months to lose 10lb earlier on in the year.

Im 5' 8" so carry my extra weight well.
CW 13stone
TW 11 stone

Whose joining me on this weight loss journey?

Thanks to the people posting with positive stories. I know I'm quite apprehensive about starting so it's good to read the plus side.

I need to order today so I can start at the end of the week but I’m worried about side effects having never tried this before, I was awake very early this morning worrying about it (peri anxiety)😬
I really want to try it because I feel I’ve exhausted every other option but only want to take the lowest dose. I think I’m going to try Fylde clinic as they are the cheapest I have found.

when people talk about micro dosing is this a smaller amount than 2.5mg?

can anyone link to the needles to get the golden dose please?

ithinkilikethislittlelife · 29/12/2025 10:01

I started January last year along with dh. I was 12 stones 9 and I’m 5ft 1 and he was 19 stone 13 and 6ft 1. We are on Mounjaro and our supplier is MedExpress. It’s been fabulous for us. No noticeable side effects other than a slow and steady weight loss. We still eat what we like but make more considered choices. Our snacking and want to snack has all but gone. I am now 8 stone 9 and he is 12 stone 13. Good luck all.

Morning ladies!

for those that have been on it before, how soon did the food noise/loas of appetite kick in?

I took my very first 2.5 of MJ at 5pm last night and I have no interest in food whatsoever! And I feel quite nauseous this morning. I’ve never ever felt this way about food before, it’s like a switch has flipped and I just have zero feelings towards food 🫣

I find some of them work quite quickly in stopping me wanting to eat, but I think that’s from side effects of nausea rather than the actual main suppression as that feels a bit different. As the nausea wears off and the dose increases I find I really don’t want to eat much as I just feel so FULL.

Some of them took longer to lead to weight loss as there wasn’t any nausea to begin with. I can’t decide if that’s a good thing (yay no side effects!) or bad (boo I still want to eat everything until the dose increases).

Happily I’m feeling slightly nauseous after first MJ dose yesterday so taking advantage of it to properly start the diet changes I wanted to make.

I’m using juniper this time- previously gone it alone using other pharmacies but I really wanted the extra support this time. If anyone wants a referral code let me know. I bet there are cheaper options out there if you’re looking for the most cost effective though!

What is the cost?

letsdothis5 · 29/12/2025 10:12

@NoCapesDarlingMy last proper meal was around 22 hours ago, and I just feel so full. But I’ve only had an apple since the last meal. It’s just so odd, but I wasn’t convinced it could start working within an hour of the first dose 🙈

NoCapesDarling · 29/12/2025 10:19

PigletInABlanketJohn · 29/12/2025 10:12

What is the cost?

I think it was £179 with their new year offer, but the price changes as the dose increases. I missed a trick by not getting a referral code as that would have saved me another 10%

lovealongbath · 29/12/2025 10:21

My supplier is £179 but I have a £40 discount code, send me a pm if you want it.

i didnt initially notice when it started but in hindsight it was straight away for me, i do now have to set a remind to remember to eat some days.
so it could be that your nauseous because you havent eaten and just need something in your stomach. i will often have an egg if i dont feel that hungry

BG2015 · 29/12/2025 11:37

I paid £74 for my first dose - you get one injection with 4 doses (used a referral code) and my second dose will be £169.

I have a referral code for Juniper if you want it just DM. It will bring the cost of my second dose down.

I am going to be joining you all in January 2026. I did have surgery in 2015 went from 120 kg to 83kg. Then over the years increased to 110. Down back to around 102. I want to be at least 83Kg again. Problem is now in my mid forties and struggling even with an increase in exercise.

Justbloodylovecrisps · 29/12/2025 17:48

Hello, thanks for linking @BG2015I’ve finally ordered & it’s arriving by the 1st. I’ve got about 3 stone to lose, so hoping that it helps!! will be great to follow along with people 😊

BG2015 · 29/12/2025 17:50

checking in!
been waiting for this for along time (gallbladder removed in August)
got 6 stone to loose.

SueblueNZ · 30/12/2025 08:13

Hi there - a question for the Wegovy folk please.
I am due to move up to 0.5mg on Friday. Do I click the pen to 50? The info sheet gives ~ as an example ~ clicking to 25 for the 1.25. Does that mean I click to 50 for this one?
And further to my earlier message on this thread - another damn week of feeling like I injected water. No appetite suppression or satiation, and no side effects (wouldn't mine the latter as I'd feel that something was happening).

BG2015 · 30/12/2025 09:06

@SueblueNZ I can't help with the pen and the dose I'm afraid as I'm a total novice.

I have read that the first month is a loading/starter dose and once you increase the dosage the food suppression increases. You're obviously doing something right though.

Morning all - did my first dose of MJ on 28th December. Zero hunger yesterday and today. Such a odd feeling to have a quieter head 😂

Currently 81kg (bmi 28) after spending 2025 indulging in all of the food 😆🫣

Goal is 58kg (bmi 20), which was my pre pregnancy weight. I’d love to get to 60kg by the end of June🤞

GalacticBuscuit · 30/12/2025 14:10

Afternoon all!

Hope you don’t mind if I join? I’m classing myself as a January starter; even tho I took my first shot on Sunday (I got impatient!)

Start weight 15st 12lb… the heaviest I’ve ever been although I’ve been overweight pretty much my entire life. Well into the obese category at 5’6’’.

Goal? I’m not sure… into a healthy BMI as the first goal I suppose!

Not feeling as hungry as I usually do; but wonder if that’s beginners willpower or the jab! No immediate side effects which is good 😊

HereWegovy2026 · 30/12/2025 14:35

Just ordered mine after dithering for so long. Start weight 12.5 stone. BMI 34.2, so a fair way to go.

LilacPossum · 30/12/2025 19:10

hello! I’d love to join you all :) just about to order my first pen, I’m thinking WG as it seems more affordable long term- where have you all bought from? Bolt Pharmacy are about £90 which seems quite good? What do you think? Thanks!

letsdothis5 · 30/12/2025 19:13

Hi ladies,

Just thought I’d check in.

im on day 3 of my first dose of MJ and I’m so taken aback with the absence of food noise and the lack of appetite. I’ve had about 600 calories today and it’s an effort to force myself to have dinner! 🫣

how’s those that have started getting on?

I think all of the first doses ( for WH) seem to be under £100 and then once you've signed up the price increases sadly.

I got my first pen for £74.50 with a code but the next one is much more.

I’m similar to you, I started WG on Sunday night and have noticed a massive reduction in hunger and feeling full up a lot sooner than normal. I’m tracking my cals to make sure I’m eating enough and am on around 1500. Protein is really important so I’m tracking to monitor this too. I didn’t expect to feel anything so I’m pleased.

Just looked again and it was £49! Even if the next one is £120 that’s pretty good for 2 months. I’ve ordered 🎉

I’m feeling nervous but excited to take control. My one big worry is having diarrhoea at work- the toilets open straight out onto a corridor right by my boss’ office and the main office area 🙈

What's a wg pen? x
