I hope it’s okay to start a new thread as we are getting dangerously close to the end of thread 1

My current stats are

MJ 2.5mg just taken dose three
planning on staying on 2.5mg for my next pen
SW: 13 stone 9.4lbs
Week 1: lost 11 lbs
Week 2: lost 3 lbs
Total weightloss: 1 stone (a small jack russel terrier)
GW: 9 stone 7

We have some newbies joining mid month so let’s cheer them on - we’ve got this ladies!

Thank you for the new thread!!
Week one loss for me: 2kg

Was on mj last year for 6 months so always happy to give support, not an export by any means but I'm always floating about xx

blackandwhitefluffycat · 18/01/2026 12:40

Thanks for the new thread!

My stats:
5’6”
SW: 14.5
Week 1: lost 10lbs
Week 2: lost 0lbs! But I weighed today (2 days later) and I’ve lost 1lb since then.
Total weight loss: 11lbs (same as a wildcat or mongoose! 😂)
CW: 13.8
GW: 10 st (for now!)

Welcome to all the newbies - we can do this!

Sorry I’ve tried to look back on your earlier posts but I couldn’t see the answer ….

Did you get down to your goal weight last time and did you go up through the doses as ‘recommended’ or did you freestyle

I think it’s really good to have people who have tried it before and then come back to it - it’s proof that it works but also I think reminds us that we need to change our habits so the weight doesn’t creep back on (which mine always does!)

I did CWP 7 years ago and got down to my GW but stuff happened - I got stressed and lazy with good decisions - I started eating again and couldn’t stop!

👋 I like questions lol
I was at my goal weight, I had lost a total of 30kg, I'm only 5'2
I stayed on 2.5 for two months and then went through the doses
But I only got as far as 10, as the price hikes were coming and every tom dick and Harry were stock piling and I struggled to get an order. Plus my hair was falling out rapidly so I just gave up.

I had changed my habits, made really good choices, going to the gym and even had a home gym built.
Then my life went topsy turvy and I turned to food as a comfort, thought I'd only gained 7kg back but it was actually 11 😳😳
And now here I am
As I don't have much to lose this time around I think it'll be a slow slog but I'm also hopeful I can get myself back to those good habits.
And yes I would agree, don't rely on suppression to get you through because within 72 of being off the injections it hits like a freight truck.

But this is accountability! 2026 is the year I am healthier and be involved in photos! 💪
Although my life is already in a bit of a wreck considering I failed probation and lost my job but I need to keep making small positive changes to not end up back in this situation x

notcomfortable · 18/01/2026 12:48

Although it was crazy going through the weight loss at the time, my daughter weighs 15kg so I lost twice the weight of her! 😲 Just surreal to think I was carrying that around all day

glutenisthedevil · 18/01/2026 13:05

Thanks for the new thread.

Injection 3, day 1, for me today and so far I've only been able to manage a bowl of Weetabix. I'm so full I feel like I've been eating all day. This is the strongest suppression I've had so far since starting.

ChilledProsecco · 18/01/2026 13:22

Only 4 days in here - started on Wednesday - not weighed myself yet.

But really pleased at how it’s going - I just don’t have hunger at all & am making really healthy choices.

In fairness I am usually a healthy eater but snacking & eating more at weekends - plus weekday hunger coming in from work - are my usual downfalls.

I’m finding it easy to stay on track. Not calorie counting.

First weigh in on Wednesday morning & will see what I do from there.

I could definitely tell after ending week 2 that I was hungry again and was feeling more snackish! So I know I have to take this opportunity to curb my previous eating habits before I come off of it

I haven’t started exercising properly yet as I’m still trying to lose weight so I can fit into comfortable clothes - I definite need a push to start me off!

I think I read you got a new job? I hope it goes really well for you

Checking in so I don’t loose the thread.

I have been so hungry the last 2 days. Jab day tomorrow so hopefully that will calm it down a bit.

BooptotheFloof · 18/01/2026 13:48

I was definitely hungry by Friday night - I jab on Saturday - and I could tell my brain was telling to eat more food

Proud that I mostly ignored it - apart from one biscuit!

Thanks for the new thread!

WG 0.25mg, took dose three yesterday
Probably staying on the same dose for my next pen unless I'm not losing over the next few days.

SW: 111.05 kg
CW: 107.85 kg
GW: 80 kg (for now anyway, it would still put me in the overweight BMI category but I can't imagine losing any more)

I have a mini goal of hitting under 100 kg by mid-March which is the first milestone I'm focusing on.

HeavyMonsterSound · 18/01/2026 14:03

Hi everyone.

Love reading the posts over the last couple of weeks.

Have issues with food, well portions and an unhealthy appetite for beer and wine.
Long story short took the plunge and ordered WG from Bolt.
First jab last Sunday evening after eating all the leftover Christmas sweets and snacks.
I've had really good food noise supression, maybe too good.
However the best part for me this week is no alcohol, haven’t given it any thought whatsoever.
Will take my 2nd jab tonight before bed.

SW 12:7
CW 12:1

Dont really have a target weight. Been down to 9:7 but that was down to life events a few years ago and looking back on photos I didn’t look well.

So around 10 stone wouldn’t get me into the healthy band (I’m 5ft 2) but would help my confidence as being overweight has stopped me doing lots of things, especially social gatherings.

Btw hope you don’t mind another male joining the journey.

Day 4 of Injection 3

Well, I had to resort to googling and trying to understand what's going on for me.

www.medino.com/article/mounjaro-changes-the-joy-of-eating

I have an appetite but the taste of food has all changed. My taste buds have been affected. Apparently a 1 in 5 side effect.

So, I don't have suppression, but a "meh" towards food as I've no taste. The only thing that tasted ok/fine over the weekend was the shared bottle of red wine, but I can't live on red wine (can I!???).

Terribly bizarre having an appetite/hungry and haven't the will to eat....

Ive been eating small weird things I'd never eat just to get some cals in, like coco pops, Nairns biscuits, sprinkled with the odd egg or two here and there.

Meh

glutenisthedevil · 18/01/2026 14:27

@goldylockhas the taste gone completely or is it just muted or different? Someone I work with lost her sense of taste through Covid and she lost a lot of weight because there was no enjoyment in it anymore.

YouBelongWithMe · 18/01/2026 14:27

Checking in to new thread.

I inly injected for the first time on Thurs but it days I've already lost 5lb!

SW: 14st 6.8lb
CW: 14st 1.8lb
Weigh loss so far: 5lb

I've planned our weekly meals and done a Big Shop. Currently prepping some lentil soup to take to work for lunch - pretty low on the lentils and high on veg, so it'll be low cal. Also going to make some overnight oats/chia for breakfast. Walked the dog for an hour.

Feeling v positive as I go into a new week.

I had a bout of Covid few years ago and lost my sense of taste/smell for a couple months. It did come back.

Things just taste different.

Ive no other side effects that I've noticed except the alteration in food taste.

glutenisthedevil · 18/01/2026 14:41

@goldylock

It's good that it came back before. Hopefully it's a short-term side effect for you. Dieting is challenging enough!

Springflowers3 · 18/01/2026 14:52

Thanks for the new thread and welcome to all the new starters. I love reading everyone’s updates.

Took my third MJ last night. Have lost 6lb so far which I’m very happy with. Have not had huge appetite suppression so it’s encouraging to read others have found this too but still managing to lose. I still feel that it is partly MJ and a good bit of willpower but that’s fine.

A big test for me was a work night out on Friday. I had two small red wines, enjoyed them but was not at all craving any more. I would normally have had much more than this. It was such a good feeling to enjoy what I had and leave it at that. What a change!

I’ve struggled with what to eat for lunch so I’m going to make a big bulgur wheat salad today for work lunches.

Not sure whether to increase to 5mg. Would like to stick to 2.5 but will see how this week goes.

Springflowers3 · 18/01/2026 14:59

Has anyone switched pharmacies if staying on the lowest dose to keep costs down? I know it would be a pain to have to go through the consultation again but there are some places with a much lower cost than my current provider, even with the discount code.

blackandwhitefluffycat · 18/01/2026 15:03

Have ordered MJ 5mg ready for in a couple of weeks, and it has just been prescribed. The confirmation email confirms they’ve prescribed Mounjaro 5mg, but the dosage instructions underneath states to inject from three pens once a week, 2.4 each which will total 7.2! 🙈 I’m hoping this is a mistake as Google says it sounds like dosage instructions for WG!

Onbdy · 18/01/2026 15:05

I took my third dose of 2.5 MJ yesterday and reading some of the replies I think I will order the 5 later today. I seem to be tolerating it pretty well. I’m still eating but the constant hunger has gone and I feel less inclined to go for unhealthier options.

CatNoBag · 18/01/2026 15:15

Hi everyone - good to keep the support going on thread 2!

I’m another one who’s partner doesn’t know I’m on it, he just thinks I’m making a big effort with my diet (which I am!). He’s very supportive of my diet, but doesn’t like the idea of injecting something (even though he was first on the line for Covid jabs, gets his flu jab every winter etc!). He talked me out if last year, but I’m no lighter six months later so going for it secretly to avoid the aggro! I bought via Juniper this time, and the sent the first one via DPD, which I could divert to a pick up point, so I’m hoping it will be the same for the next delivery. It was a massive box as they sent me scales as well, despite me ticking the box to opt out of receiving them, so they are off to the charity shop next week!

CatNoBag · 18/01/2026 15:20

I think I will go for 5mg for my second pen, and if that’s working then I’ll stay on it. I’m training for a marathon 🫣 so I need to be able to fuel my long runs, which I’m hoping will take me a bit less time to complete if there’s less of me to drag around!

Whatstfpoint · 18/01/2026 15:49

Medicine marketplace approved and dispatched today's order within less than 3rs. It's pretty impressive.

Would you consider switching to Wegovy? That sounds so miserable!
