Hi, my first WG pen is in the fridge ready to start on 1st January.

Im 56 (57 in Feb) post menopausal and cancer survivor in remission 5 years nearly. still taking cancer prevention medication that I believe that is hindering my weight loss. I just can't seem to lose it no matter how much I try. It took me 5 months to lose 10lb earlier on in the year.

Im 5' 8" so carry my extra weight well.

Some great losses coming in
Keep going 👏
For those not loosing try your best not to be disheartened, although very difficult
Literally everything impacts your weight
Not going toilet enough, eating too much, not eating enough, not sleeping enough.
Just keep talking your frustrations out on here, we will listen and guide as best we can 🫶

Do you think where you are in your menstrual cycle makes a difference? I feel so bloated (period due in a few days), hoping to see a dip in the scales once it's arrived!

blackandwhitefluffycat · 16/01/2026 08:36

@Octagoneaway Yes, let’s stay postive and continue as we are!

MJ makes it easier to do that as I’m not hungry at all - normally it would be too easy to think, well I might as well have toast for breakfast if I’m not losing weight anyway, when I’m having hunger pangs!

That’s good. I’ve still been peckish, so have needed quite a bit of willpower. But it does seem a little easier, especially at the start of the week!

Fingers crossed for us both this week x

@Octagoneawayare you measuring your waist or boobs, hips.? I've definitely lost weight on my waist.

Good idea, will do that now! Thanks 👍

Oh god yes. Im bracing myself for the next one as it will seem as though I have gained weight. Usually I retain some extra water, which leaves once I have my period.

I personally don't think so
I started on Tuesday after not having a period for three months (seems mj makes my cycle regular) and I'm still loosing
Haven't noticed extra bloating
And it was the same last year, my cycle was like clock work and was still able to lose 4kg a month

Whatstfpoint · 16/01/2026 09:41

Soon I will have to buy a new belt. That's how I measure my waist 😂 this one already got a bit big when I started IF and lost weight. I will be very happy to buy a shorter one. One more hole to go!

FrostyFlo · 16/01/2026 09:46

2nd dose just taken . Bring it on !

I put my weight loss on earlier in the week , nothing lost from then , but I'm ok with that . Hope to lose something this second week in .

Well done!!! I plan to stay consistent with my YouTube videos and 10kg Dumbells and 40 squats daily

I am working up to 10kg dumbbells - shoulder presses with 5kg are still rather a struggle 😂

Tryingagainfor2026 · 16/01/2026 11:19

blackandwhitefluffycat · 16/01/2026 08:20

I feel the same!

Lost 10lbs in the first week!
Weighed this morning and I’ve lost 0lbs a week later!

Have been logging what I’m eating and calories because I’ve not been interested in food at all, so it’s to make sure I’m eating an ok amount and getting enough protein and fibre etc. I’m drinking plenty of water and exercising. All healthy food.

Daily calories were 1030, 910, 1050, 910, 840, 990, 850 and no weight loss!

Although as I said previously, I put weight on eating 1400-500 since starting HRT, so maybe I need to go to 800 as in Fast800 for a couple of months.

Not constipated either - one time last week I went a day later than usual but all been fine since then.

My trousers do feel a bit looser though.

I’ve just had my 3rd jab. I still have the bruise from week 1!

Edited

Before I go on a weight loss plan I generally tend to write out my targets for each weeek till goal weight and I make it moderate losses. Then I generally tend to always have a fast initial loss and then I get excited recalculate the whole thing and then feel frustrated when it slows down! Every time!

So I can understand feeling frustrated at no loss on the 2nd week. But you lost SO much the first! If you actually knew at the beginning you would lose that over 2 weeks I imagine you would have thought that was good.

Alltheyellowbirds · 16/01/2026 11:43

I started last Saturday. Weighed yesterday and I had lost seven pounds. This morning I’ve put three back on again 😂 No change in eating, no extra portions, no salt or carbs or UPF.

While I know the first weight loss is only water weight, it’s still disappointing!

Bodies are mysterious things.

Whatstfpoint · 16/01/2026 11:48

You need salt. It's an electrolyte.

This is exactly what I'm like - lose a lot at first, then immediate plateau that can last a while so I get fed up with not eating what I want. I'm hoping the jabs help with that part and remove the 'wanting to eat' part to get me through the plateau. It's a marathon not a sprint!

Oh I didn’t mean I wasn’t having any. Just that I hadn’t had a particularly extra salty meal which can sometimes lead to a bit of water retention showing up on the scale. Trying to rule out all the usual explanations.

You’re totally right - I would! Thank you for pointing that out!

Day 2 of injection 3 (injected last night).

I seem to have an appetite, but don't long for anything. Just don't have a craving for anything, which I find weird.

I lost my sense of taste with a bout of Covid few years ago. Took a few months to come back. And it reminds me of this.

Disinterested in food. I'm not sure I like this adaption. But, is this the sacrifice, for want of a better word, to be slimmer? (dunno about healthier).

Ooh, I DREAM of being disinterested in food! I’m a couple of weeks behind you, fingers crossed.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

I dunno if am describing it properly...

Its like, I've an appetite and know I've to eat cause am hungry, but no taste for anything. Feels harder to know what to buy...

It's become...boring!

If I'd full suppression, maybe I wouldn't feel it as much.

I miss wanting/craving something salty, or something vinegary, or something tomatoes, or garlicy. I miss the wanting 🥹

notcomfortable · 16/01/2026 14:58

I'm so sorry to keep butting in to the conversations but I just got a job offer after interviewing today!!! Oh my days!

No I know what you mean. It’s just that it’s the wanting/craving that’s my undoing! I feel like if that went I could calmly plan out my meals and stick to that plan. Choose foods according to what fuel I needed and not want my heart desires... Though I totally get how boring that would be, it would definitely help my waistline!

Yep, I wonder if slim people are like this. Eat to fuel than to enjoy.

It's taking me time in my head to try understand this.

Id usually have a craving for lasagne and a nice vinegary salad. Or packets of crisps. Or something lovely and garlicky. I suppose I looked forward to it. Maybe thats how I got 2 extra stone on tho 😁.

Tonight am going to my friend's house for some wine and nibbles. I haven't drank since starting. I'll have 1 and see how it goes.
