@eibbed999 it really must have been an unusually short seat belt, especially if he had an extender ready to go. It must happen to lots of people if he had an extender to hand.

You look absolutely fabulous in that wonderful dress. It really suits your shape, and you do indeed look curvy Flowers

eibbed999 · 17/10/2025 10:16

Thank you @SilenceInside and @Motnight - yes, that's my story and I'm sticking with it! Stupid Uber!

@SilenceInside your loss is amazing. So inspiring for the rest of us.

I'm getting the dress in a different pattern too @Motnight, and in a smaller size (aspirational shopping!). I recently discovered that Seasalt has an eBay shop with good discounts too.

Billybingbong · 17/10/2025 10:55

Morning all, fantastic to see more amazing losses this week.

@eibbed999 that dress is stunning 😍

Well I've been completely knocked off my legs this week by covid. I've only had it once, back in the early days of lockdown, and it really is as nasty as I remembered it. Urgh, enough now, be gone with you 😡.

On the plus side, I've had a massive whoosh, and lost 6lb this week. Obviously it's because im poorly, but im taking it, small victories and all that! Just 1lb short of 5st now, yippee.

SW 22st 8lb
CW 17st 9lb
GW 11st 8lb

Have a great week everyone, I'll be back posting proper when im back on my feet

TragicMuse · 17/10/2025 12:32

Well! This 10mg of a a whole different type of suppression!

I have a very slight tinge of nausea. But really very little. Mostly I just cannot be bothered. With food or thinking about it or even actually eating it.

I’ve skipped breakfast again because I just couldn’t face thinking about it. Hunger is kinda there and kinda not. In a ‘oh, bit hungry’ and ‘oh god nope’ way, at the same time. Mentally I would like something, physically all of me recoils and backs away, shaking the head!

I just ate a small chicken salad. It was ok. Fuel. And mostly so I can take my mornings pills.

This is deeply weird. Not like any of the suppression I’ve had before. At all.

well, it’s one of the ways to shift the 2lb gain from last weekend!

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 17/10/2025 12:37

Well I’ve had a not so fun week. I have been edging up to 5mg a bit at a time after side effects the first time round on this dose, I’ve done 4.5,4.5,4.75,5 over the past month. This week since I hit 5 (sorry TMI) I was up half the night on Sat with diarrhoea it took 4 Immodium to stop. Then again on Monday, then again yesterday 😫. Really not sure where to go with the dose this week.

I have lost nearly 6lb this week after almost nothing for this month. can that really all be hydration or is it possible for a whoosh to manifest this way? I’ve been really on the electrolytes, water and herbal tea all week to replace lost water.

Also was out this week for a coffee with friends who don’t know I’m doing this and haven’t so far noticed my weight loss. They starting discussing Mounjaro with respect to someone else we know that was a couple of stone overweight and they suspect has been using it to lose this. We had the whole bingo card of what are people putting in their body, who knows the long term effects, how do you know what you’re taking, why would anyone buy dodgy stuff online and put it in their body, what happens when you stop, why would anyone do that etc. I just sat and kept quiet and don’t plan to ever tell this group I have used WLI even though they will clearly suspect but it’s hard knowing the judgement will be there. But then I am sure they judge my weight also so can’t win.

TragicMuse · 17/10/2025 12:42

I’m so sorry you’ve been hit so hard @ConfusedMiddleAger83 that sounds tiring. Physically and emotionally, actually.

Definitely don’t tell the friends. It’s none of their business anyway, but protect your peace.

I hope your symptoms ease soon.

Lds1 · 17/10/2025 13:07

Still weigh more than the other week. Going to do omad after my next dose which is Saturday night. Still not back in the 10st loss club. Still feeling a bit deflated trying not to worry but it's hard not to really.

SilenceInside · 17/10/2025 15:39

@Lds1 you’ll get there, it will happen. But I do totally know how hard it is to believe that sometimes.

JodieJo63 · 18/10/2025 07:08

Yes, my Shotsy has also started showing the same as of yesterday. I've emailed them to see why it's changed.

Doggymummar · 18/10/2025 09:48

I'm not in a good way mentally I don't think. Being jobless at nearly 60 seems hard. Not even a sniff of an interview. We are in the process of buying a property which is all on my other half s shoulders financially now as I just made the borrowing worse, being a dependent rather than a partner. Was last paid on September 22nd any my job seekers appointment isn't until 12 th November so have had no money. Having stayed the same for about 6 months now it seems impossible to reach my goal and still overweight. Fourth Christmas on WLI coming up and it feels a bit futile.

SilenceInside · 18/10/2025 11:34

Ah @Doggymummar that sounds like a really difficult time for you and your partner. Job hunting can be so soul destroying and the long wait for a JSA appointment is terrible. They expect you to wait for nearly a month with no support at all?

I just wanted to say that it's not futile at all. Maintaining your weight and not being obese are major major wins. You have done so well to lose the weight that you have, as I know it's been a hard long journey for you. You look amazing in your recent pictures, and I know that you may be overweight according to the scales (so am I!) but no one would say you were overweight to look at you.

Doggymummar · 18/10/2025 12:54

Thank you so much, @SilenceInside I think I'm having a pity party for one.! I really want to get to a healthy weight but I've stayed the same for months. I'm eating maybe 600 cals a day a can of soup and 2 pieces of bread one day, yesterday a star bar and a packet or crisps tonight cod and mash it feels so joyless. I'll shake it off. Bur yes it will be about 7 weeks before any money comes through. Thankfully I've paid of Klarna for the MJ So I'm not draining finances, but I hate not contributing

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 18/10/2025 13:36

Dear @Doggymummar I'm so sorry, and I fully understand.

I also have a friend who keeps bringing up mounjaro about other people! She hasn’t commented on my 5.5stone weight loss, but it feels the way she keeps bringing it up about others feels like she is trying to get me to say I am taking it, or worse still, is she testing to see if I will lie. I think she likely knows full well I am taking it but I go along with her comments like, yes it must cost so much money and ‘better to spend the money on the gym and healthy food’ etc 😔😩 I hate I am not being truthful, but hearing judgement of others makes me even more unlikely to ever admit it. I fear this will be a long kept dark secret of mine and people will be watching me like a hawk when ever it is discussed.

Weightloss came up as a conversation when I was out with some friends the other day too. One of them said that WLI was cheating, and that same person said thank God they don't need WLI because they have a fast metabolism. I said to them straight away - surely that is cheating???? If I eat or you eat the exact same thing but I gain weight and you don't, your fast metabolism is completely cheating! It's not willpower, it's pure luck. That person didn't know what to say ..😂

As I go on, day by day, I realise that without WLI, I would never have been able to be in a calorie deficit month after month, at all. It's just such a slog, especially when the scales don't reflect the efforts involved. This has changed my life.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 21/10/2025 21:06

My hairdresser came out with the whole bingo card.

She started with "nobody knows what's in it" and ended with "it's cheating".

I just agreed with her. It was easier.
I'm sure she believes I'm on MJ and wants me to "confess" but I refused to be drawn in.

SilenceInside · 21/10/2025 21:34

Oh goodness, you’re a better woman than me. I would have had to have responded to the “nobody knows what’s in it” comment. Just a total display of ignorance, isn’t it?

Reginaphalangeeeee · 21/10/2025 23:38

@mamabeebootge more I think about it… thin people say WLI are cheating makes me think they are bloody cheaters. People with weight to loose need all the help they can get, it’s a constant uphill battle physically & mentally despite the bloody mental abuse of people telling you are cheating!

Reginaphalangeeeee · 21/10/2025 23:42

I hate that I look sheepish & ashamed when WLI brought up, scared of being out in a position I feel I have to lie.
It so annoying hearing others achievements celebrated & mine, getting life back is a taboo! I know I could not have listened to 5.5 stone without WLI’s. Maybe in a different stage of life with no other pressures & full time professional help, but no otherwise!
wondering if personal trainers also considered cheating?

@Reginaphalangeeeee I have framed it as my body, my business. I have not told anyone apart from my DH and my DD that I am on WLI. I have lied by omission to the (very few people) who have directly asked.

It's interesting - as women our bodies seem to be public property anyway, up for anyone to comment on whether we are thin, fat, young, old. I'm too old to play the game anymore and I don't owe anyone (apart from my family) the truth about how I am managing to have a more healthy body.

Be proud of your achievements 😊

GlowGetter · 22/10/2025 10:02

This is our health and our medical situation we are all fighting for, so two fingers up to anyone who thinks we are 'cheating'. It's none of their business. It's also why I haven't told anyone apart from my hubby and medical people that need to know. All the medical people have been very supportive and encouraging.
Are any of the 'it's cheating' people doctors? No, I thought not.

GnomeDePlume · 22/10/2025 10:57

It's cheating to the same extent that antibiotics, warfarin, levothyroxin, antidepressents, the pill, HRT etc etc etc are all cheating.

Do the 'it's cheating' people take any of those and consider themselves 'cheating'? Did they have pain relief or medical intervention during childbirth? Ever had a fractured bone set?

If I let nature take its course I would be long since dead by now.

The only reason WLI are seen as 'cheating' is because those people see excess weight as a moral failing. They want weightloss to come with a side order of suffering as punishment for immorality. I think many also are quite happy to see people regain weight as this gives further evidence of immorality and therefore the commenter's own moral superiority.

Rainbowcat77 · 22/10/2025 19:52

Has anybody on here tried using longer (8mm) needles? Did it have any impact and which ones did you buy?
I’ve heard of a few people doing this before going up a dose and am considering trying it… is that a terrible idea?

SilenceInside · 22/10/2025 20:07

I use a mixture of 4, 6 and 8mm. The 4 and 6 are pen needles, which I have been variously sent by different suppliers. I tend not to even check which ones of those I’m using. The 8mm are syringes I use for the 5th dose from a pen. I have not noticed any differences at all between them. But I know that some people like the 8mm and use those for preference.

I think it’s worth a try if you want to, pen needles are not too expensive, although often come in boxes of 100!
