Small gain for me this week, but like I said yesterday I'm not too surprised (eating more carbs, not exercising, and also TMI but haven't pooed for a few days!). I've got one more dose (bonus dose) from my current pen which I will use all of even if it is slightly more than the 2.5mg then I think I might move up to 3.75mg from my remaining 2.5mg pen. I'm starting to lose motivation/get complacent so I think the additional support from the MJ would probably be sensible.

Down 8st 4lb

Now weighing 11st 12lb

It's taken 21 months but I put the tights on myself (easily)! Last year, someone had to put them on me.

I'm still trying to get rid of the kg I've put on, hopefully it'll be gone by Thursday so then I can concentrate on going forward again.

Today I'm going for a walk which is scheduled for 2 hours but it's a gentle stroll which is better than nothing and I'm confident I'll get round without complaining.

4 pounds of in October so far
And 4 more pounds off and I've lost 9 stone

Saw a friend for coffee today ,and same old story

She says "is that not enough a 9 stone loss ..why do you need to loose more ???"
This is utterly bizarre
So I told her my jeans I am wearing are a size 20 ,most people start dieting at a size 20..I have plenty more weight to loose ..
She says ,"well don't get ill !!!!!!!"
Get this
She is also on the same injections as me
She started Injections at a size 18 and is now a size 14 ..
What on earth..how does that make sense in her head ..
I don't know . people are funny ..

Week 30 and a 1lb loss bringing me to a round 80lb loss (5st10lb/36kg) that's 22% of me gone and 45% of my goal loss.

Today's surprise is is that my scales do decimal places- who knew?! I've only been getting whole lbs until now, must have been the "2" at the start that was preventing the decimal place. It's not just my clothes that are feeling roomy, the scales are too 🤣

Wow @Fffreeeeezing you're doing so well!

@Autumnflowers2 seriously people are weird! You carry on! 9st is great, and you choose to carry on. Quite right. Just ignore your friend. She's probably jealous.

Thank you @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne it's all made a lot easier by getting to see you looking fab in a dress and all the other great progress photos people are posting- you all look bloody amazing!

GnomeDePlume · 09/10/2025 09:27

@mo25 I'm now 80lbs down, 58 so even less elastic! I am now starting to see a bit of crepey skin generally and a small amount of loose skin around my upper arms.

I'm not really into skincare beyond keeping clean and using handcream in winter when my hands indicate the weather is changing by instantly cracking.

Wow. 80lbs. You must be really proud.

Some people need you to be bigger than them.

PearlsPearl · 11/10/2025 12:13

Broon amazing legs 😁 amazing to go from not being able to do them alone to putting them in effortlessly. You’ve motivated me to pick a healthy lunch while we’re out today!

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 11/10/2025 13:14

I will join this group too if you don’t mind. I started mj in September and now w7, still on 2.5mg. It’s been great to read here everyone’s journey. I have lost a total of 2st, 10% of my starting weight and my resting heart rate has dropped so first little victories there! Stats below, I haven’t really set my goal weight further than 13st at the moment as anything more seems too big even though many of you have done it!

SW 19st 3lbs
CW 17st 3lbs
GW1 15st
GW2 13st

Another NSV today was that I managed to fit in size 20 jeans. But there is a catch here 😂 I have been buying my clothes from yours clothing for years and wearing their sizes 24-26. So the size 20 is “plus size 20”. I also have M&S trousers in their size 20 and those ones won’t zip, probably about 15 cm too much fat around my waist! I will keep that as my next target…

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 11/10/2025 13:28

Regarding comments from other people, I do sometimes think that people don't quite realise how big we are. I had a chat with some colleagues yesterday about my weight loss and one was already cautioning me about not losing too much, and giving examples of some colleagues who really have taken it too far and look gaunt. But it did come from a good place of genuinely not realising how big I am - they mentioned another colleague who is on WLI and that she had started at a BMI of 43 (with the implication being that that was very large) and were surprised when I said that not only had I started at a higher BMI than that, but also that almost 3 stone later I am still above that.

Looks like you're doing very well.

OP posts:
TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 11/10/2025 13:48

@RenegadeKeeblerElf yes to all you say.

Most people on WLI do not have to grapple with starting off at a BMI which is over 50.
Some of us on this thread started with BMIs which were much higher than that.

I think that when this is the case, we just need to ignore the people IRL who advise us "not to lose too much".

They don't compute what we're doing and cannot imagine us as thin people with a healthy BMI.

As we've all said quite often, it's easier and safer for many people if they can regard us as fat. Especially if we're the fattest.

Absolutely
I have always been the fattest .
Not any more tho

Thank you for sharing your wonderful photos, ladies. It really is encouraging!!
Everyone is doing so well!!

Welcome to those who have recently joined, too. The friendliest thread on mumenet. ☺️

Weigh in this week and another 2lb down. Now I am 0.2lb off a 3 stone loss in 3 1/2 months. I am really chuffed with that.

No comments yet, although I have had a few people say I am looking "well". I know others relate this to weight, but I have just had a year of being serious UN- well so I am putting those comments down to that really.
My illness was not caused by my weight, but it was certainly hampering my recovery and I have come on in leaps and bounds over the past few months, much more than I would have done at my old weight.

I am now jabbing every 5 days. One of 5mg and then I have alternated with a smaller dose the next time. It has made a huge difference to me. It has evened out the suppression and hunger really well. I think I am going to do 5mg every 5 days going forward.

I have been enjoying some nice autumnal sunshine today, walking with the dog. Life is so much easier than it was not long ago.

PositiveAttitude · 11/10/2025 17:50

Oh and one thing MJ has taught me - it is possible to eat 1 jaffa cake and not need to eat the whole packet another one. The same with Pringles. 1 Pringle!!! Who ever eats just 1 Pringle??

Oh god, totally this!! The other week I helped myself to a few pringles while cooking dinner (weighed and counted in my calorie allowance 😉). I got busy with dinner and realised later I had left a couple behind and forgotten about them - I have never in my life forgotten about food 🤣

@PearlsPearl congratulations on the job, well done you!
@SilenceInside that dress looks gorgeous on you! I’m off to look for sheath dresses now…
@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne looking fab there! And I love your shoes… I’m looking forward to pulling tights on with ease, just bought some lovely woolly ribbed ones from whitestuff.

welcome to this lovely thread @SnowWhiteisMyFavourite (your starting weight was the same as my MJ start weight) and @IsThisLifeNow 😊

PearlsPearl · 12/10/2025 08:35

Thank you 🤩

I’ve lost 3.5lb this week. A lovely whoosh to get things started, the 2mg worked lovely. That takes me to a 3 stone loss on MJ since the end of May. Very happy with that! Especially as for one month I wasn’t on it and pretty much stayed the same.

5 stone 10 loss.

next goals:

-get under 100kg (don’t know why as I don’t count in kilos, I just like numbers and want to see that 99!)
— lose 100lb (I will celebrate this hard!)
— get under 200lb

PearlsPearl · 12/10/2025 09:20

Also just updated my Nutracheck goal, weight etc and now it’s dropped my calories to 1260 a day. That feels so low 🫣 and makes me a bit grumpy. I know it’s because I’m totally sedentary (especially whilst not working) and only 5 foot 1 but still.

Doggymummar · 12/10/2025 09:38

I know how you feel @PearlsPearl I can't lose on over 1000 cals a day, but it really is a lot of food if you eat the right things. It's more vegetables than I could ever eat for example. I often end up putting a lot of butter on carrots for example to get to 1000 cals, or having a mini tub of Häagen-Dazs. What were your calories before?

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 12/10/2025 10:05

I'd started thinking that the effects of the MJ were wearing off/I was getting used to them as I have been able to eat more normally, so was going to increase my dose soon. Then this morning, I woke up very hungry, and late, so decided to have a slightly indulgent/big breakfast with the plan that I wouldn't want much lunch. But I've eaten half of it now and am too full to eat the rest! So now I'm back to being unsure what to do with my dose 🤷🙈
