Marking my place!

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne thank y!

Thankyou so much for the shiny new thread xxx

eibbed999 · 15/09/2025 17:00

I'll start the new thread on a classy note - I've always read about sulphur burps but never understood what it meant. Today, I am full of wind, and every time I belch, it's like a rotten egg exploding in my mouth. So glad I'm self employed and work from home. Only the dogs are here to witness it, and as they regularly roll in fox poo, they're not that fussy!

I've never had them either, in 15 months on MJ.

I've been very lucky, I think. Almost no side-effects.

Me neither until now, after almost 6 months!

PearlsPearl · 15/09/2025 18:05

@eibbed999 I was tortured by them the past few weeks. The only thing that gave any relief was pepto bismol. Tastes like shit though but really stops the foulness somewhat. Mine were so bad I literally couldn’t go to work! Poor you. My only advise is to drink TONS of water and try and flush it all out of you.

Broom, also thanks for the new thread 🌟 my favourite corner of mn 💖

So nice to chat with others in the same boat. When you have over 10 stone to lose (15 stone in my case) there are different issues that we face. How is everyone getting on with their journeys?
I've now lost 2 stone and looking forward to someone actually noticing! I've gone down a dress size which is wonderful but I guess it will be a few more stone before anyone can tell.

Hello, just checking in to the new thread!
I started at 24stone in Mid July, now down to 22 st 7lb so 21 lb off.
Slower than others and I haven’t noticed any changes yet really but I keep reminding myself that it will all come and slow and steady is the way to go.
how is everybody else doing? I love hearing people’s weight loss journies…it never fails to inspire me!

Hi everyone

pleased to join again in this new thread.

Please can I ask about appetite on MJ & what’s normal.

I started in April & currently on my first 7.5mg pen - never had much suppression but do get full a bit more quickly.

I jabbed on Thursday - but by Sunday I was able to eat breakfast (heaped table soon of yogurt with berries) lunch (tea & scone with jam & cream while visiting Cotswolds with nephew) and a medium size roast dinner for evening meal followed by a v small portion of crumble.

I counted calories and it was just over 1800 so under tdee - but I could have happily eaten more. I had to show restraint having such a small portion of crumble - only three v small roast pots etc…

day-to-day I eat less than this - the scone & dessert were a treat as my nephew was staying with us etc…

but dies that sound normal to you?. Is anyone else able to eat like this on MJ?

Hi, I couldn't eat like that, as you asked. I'm generally around 800 cals a day I eat one meal which would in volume be about half the size of a supermarket ready meal. I eat like a toddler, so half a bag of crisps, half a chocolate bar etc, another day I could eat a 400ml tub of Häagen-Dazs in one sitting. Tonight for dinner I had two pork and apple sausages. And a mouthful of key lime pie. You are much better than me.

Elle771 · 15/09/2025 20:09

Found you all again!!

Have religiously read previous thread catch ups but not had time to post yet 🙈

NSV this weekend was cutting my toenails relatively easily for first time in years 🎉🤣😬

Scale victory is finally I'm.no longer morbidly obese I'm just very very obese or whatever the 39.9 BMI category is 🎉🎉 this is only place i feel i can celebrate that!! 🤣🥰

Just started on 7.5mg and thankfully no side effects yet (always feel nervous moving up?!)

Love hearing everyone's journeys and wins (and struggles too!)

I started at 24 stone 13 pounds, I now weigh 15 stone 1, so very close to 10 stone lost. It has changed my life in so many ways, I eat healthy meals, run 5k every other day, walk 15k steps a day, swim and do yoga weekly. I can get up and down from the floor easily (important to me as I’m a reception teacher)! And I just feel like I fit so much better in places, eg buses, tubes, chairs in restaurants, fairground rides etc.

Wow that’s amazing, you’ve done so well!
I’m a teacher too and at the moment can’t get down on the floor at all. My goals are all things that normal sized people take for granted. I’m so sad I let myself get this way.

Ten stone down though, you must feel amazing! At what stage did people start to notice do you think?

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 15/09/2025 22:13

Checking in on the new thread also. Such great progress from everyone!

I have just tipped over the 3 stone mark after 18weeks. NSV, my clothes are finally starting to feel a little baggy on me and I have got into a couple of the tops I had put away as too tight.

@Woodywig i have had the odd handful of days when I can’t eat much but generally could eat as you described but would be very poorly after so on the whole I manage to summon enough willpower to avoid the worst of the triggers, which for me are carbs, sweet things, alcohol. I’m not tracking calories as so done with that over the years but think I’m probably generally eating around 1200-1500 calories.

I am constantly battling the side effects, it’s funny how different it is for us all. I either am constipated with stomach ache or have diarrhoea or acid reflux or sulphur burps and vomiting and a sore stomach basically much of the time. I am still crawling up to 5mg (on 4.5 the last 2 weeks) trying to find the sweet spot where I have some suppression and the side effects are bearable. I guess I’m just hoping I can bear it long enough to really make a dent in my weight - BMI now 41.6 so a looong way to go.

UsernameShmusername2024 · 15/09/2025 22:17

Thanks for the new thread!

Woodywig · 15/09/2025 22:35

Thanks @Doggymummar and @ConfusedMiddleAger83 for your replies.

So @Doggymummar has high suppression & @ConfusedMiddleAger83 has side gastro side effects (sorry to hear that)

I’ve had little to no suppression & v few side affects so far.

In fact I feel worse if I haven’t eaten. I jabbed my first 5mg on an empty stomach a felt quite unwell after that.

But otherwise my only symptom has been irritation at the injection site.

It really is crazy how it affects everyone so differently.

ordinarily I aim for 1500 - 1600 calories day - sometimes it’s a little under, sometimes a little over. I’m losing average 1 to 1.5lb per week but do have to make an effort - count calories etc.. otherwise I would go over my allowance x

I could eat this easily. I have had no problem finishing meals and only stop eating due to keeping within my calories. Spend a lot of my days hungry so the suppression isn't working for me or I've got used to it? I'm only on week 6 but have lost 2 stone due to the restricted calorie intake rather than any specific help from Mounjaro. However, the Mounjaro has helped enormously with getting rid of water retention and lessening joint pain. so very pleased to be taking it. Going to go up to 5mg next pen.

Same ,I'm on 15 and needed a lot of willpower all the way through, constantly hungry..have to be very strict with myself and calorie count

I’d say friends and family started to notice after I’d lost about 3-4 stone, people at work started commenting after I’d lost 5-6 stone.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 16/09/2025 07:54

Yay new thread! Thanks
I’m back from my French holiday and have just caught up on all the posts with a morning coffee @PearlsPearl and @eibbed999 lovely photos!

I managed to resist the croissants but not the cheese. Weigh in and 2lbs off this week so my cheese addiction was managed well 😂

SW pre Mounjaro 21 stone 7 lbs
SW on Mounjaro 19 stone 2 lbs
CW 12 stone 3 lbs - even typing that doesn’t feel real, I’d set an interim goal of 12.3 and I’ve hit it. I’ve just set a new goal of 11 stone 3 lbs.

I have no clothes suitable for the current weather that fit me, I’ll be scrolling through Vinted this week no doubt. It is a nice problem to have.

Ordered another 15mg pen from Swift Doctor, I’m toying with the idea of injecting 7.5mg every 5 days rather than extending the time between jabs, that way I’m keeping the MJ levels consistent rather than big peaks and troughs.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 16/09/2025 08:04

Hi @Woodywig, my appetite varies from day to day, can usually manage three meals on the run up to a jab and on jab day, then I’ll have two meals a day for the rest of the week, usually breakfast and dinner - I ‘fast’ two days a week as well though. But no two weeks seem to be the same for me, some days I can easily forget to eat, others I want to eat more than I should but I can easily tell myself not to.
