Congratulations @BagQueenBee and @Janie934 fabulous losses.
Just wanted to share I have finally hit a 10stone loss. Been on MJ 18months and never imagined I would be “nearly”’a normal BMI.
Have found the change a challenge and quite emotional when I realise how this feels instead of yo-yo dieting for thirty years. Do others struggle with looking at someone different in the mirror?

Onenotsosmallstep · 14/10/2025 12:32

Well done @Janie934. It feels like such a momentous one getting ‘onto the chart’ which not that many outside of this thread will understand. Huge congratulations

Fffreeeeezing · 14/10/2025 13:30

Ridiculously I am actually panicking about the work Christmas party 🫣. I mean I don't really want to go but I will be expected to attend (despite it being a 60 mile round trip, out of working hours and at my own expense 🙄) 2 of the 3 venues we've been asked to vote for are set 3 course menus- I don't stand a chance of eating 3 courses even if I did want to (which I don't!) and really don't want to pay loads of money for food I'm not going to eat and also don't want to sit with nothing while everyone else is eating starters/desserts.
Not even sure this is an MJ related problem, I think it's because I don't want to bloody well go, that and the fact I am really not a fan of Christmas (if I could hibernate for all of December I would be absolutely fine with that)

Todays rant over, just needed to get it out of my system

SilenceInside · 14/10/2025 13:39

@Everdecreasingcircle massive congratulations on reaching the 10 stone down point! I think it's really common to have a disconnect between what we now see in the mirror and what has been our mental image for decades. I am surprised every day, and it sometimes seems like a surreal dream. I buy size 14 clothes, they arrive and I think they are far too small, and then they fit perfectly...

@Fffreeeeezing that is a right pain about your work Christmas party. Having to pay for travel and then possibly 3 courses that you don't even want to eat all of is a bummer.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 14/10/2025 16:37

@Everdecreasingcircle

Well done on the 10st loss!

@Everdecreasingcircle I agree with @SilenceInside I still haven’t got used to the new me, I hold up a pair of size 12 jeans and they just look so ridiculously tiny I can’t imagine them fitting and then they do! I also still do a double take when I see myself in a shop window. I worry that people must think I’m so vain staring at my own reflection but I can’t help it, it still shocks me every time!

Everdecreasingcircle · 14/10/2025 17:28

Thank you @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne @mamabeeboo @SilenceInside and @Onenotsosmallstep . Very kind of you. Only one family member knows am on Mounjaro so don’t want to let on but these boards have been so valuable keeping me motivated and not feel alone.
It is a tricky journey but I think the best bit is knowing it can be done and not giving up when the scales stall.
I think maintaining will be the hardest part.
@Fffreeeeezing I know what you mean re Christmas and parties. Wish I could disappear somewhere sunny instead ☀️

Everdecreasingcircle · 14/10/2025 17:34

Thanks @MummyInTheNecropolis I totally get you 💯. I struggle to pick the right size stuff in clothes shops and can’t believe am a 12. Long way from a 26. I accidentally put on a pair of larger knickers the other day and they literally fell off.
I wonder how long it will take until I feel less like an invader in this new body.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 14/10/2025 17:36

I've been advised by my GP to increase my dosage of progesterone because I've had a small amount of post-menopausal bleeding. It's been 20 years since I had a period.

She has also arranged for me to have an ultrasound of my uterus, but is pretty certain that the bleeding was due to the MJ.

I've been on post-menopausal HRT for ages, and luckily my GP is an expert on women's health.

Lots of fab results going on, and it's wonderful to read about all the 10st losses, what an amazing achievement. Huge well done everyone 👏

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne great that you have a proactive GP, and you're not being fobbed off like we hear so often. I hope you get sorted soon.

Well I've been knocked off my feet by Covid. I feel absolutely shite and have had to go off sick for the first time in forever, urgh, its not pleasant. Ive barely eaten a thing for the last few days, so I'd better bloody lose something this week!!

You're lucky she's an expert @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne, I've got several threads about HRT & Mounjaro because my GP seems pretty clueless. I switched to patches but the oestrogen dosage doesn't go high enough for me

Elephantscantjump · 14/10/2025 19:54

Everyone's doing amazingly! Ive slowed down a little recently and think I'll have to up to 5mg next time. Tbf ive done 12 doses of 2.5mg and lost 16.3kg so far.

Pleased with it but nervous to have to try and swap providers. I started with numan as had a code originally and the increased price I could afford for the convenience of it being a subscription however they've really upped their prices and I'm not keen to pay the increased price!

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 14/10/2025 21:09

Glad your GP is on it @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne , mine seems a bit clueless also. I went for a review as I don’t feel any different at all after a year on HRT from before I started it and also to ask about the progesterone. She wasn’t interested in that part at all and just sent me for some blood tests. Have the follow up tomorrow so will have to press the point.

@Elephantscantjump ive just swapped provider for the second time this week and am always nervous about it. Swapping post price hike to get a cheaper option, have gone for Pharmulous as they seem fairly competitive on the monj list for both 5mg I’m on and 7.5mg which I will maybe try next month. Seems smooth so far but just waiting for delivery.

Doggymummar · 14/10/2025 21:51

I was put on daily hrt from 21 days a month when oushk wrote to them with elis advice. Also found fibrooids which they offered me a hysterectomy for, but I declined as they are asymptomatic

BagQueenBee · 15/10/2025 01:50

PearlsPearl · 14/10/2025 10:33

You are doing fantastic @BagQueenBee and must feel physically a million times better xxx

I honestly do, much more energy an no breathlessness….it’s amazing and I’m so excited to one day get to 12 st although goodness knows what I will look like at that weight??

@Elephantscantjump If you'd like a discount code for CheqUp (£50 off) or a 10% discount on anything you buy from Medino, do send me a PM.

That goes for any of you, or course.
I'm doing well on Wegovy so far.
I've been injecting 2.4mg of it every 4-5/ days.

I'm down to 11st 12lb on it so far.

My total loss is 8st 4lb.

Also @Elephantscantjump don't be nervous about changing providers

I've changed several times.

Thanks! I know it'll be fine when I do, I just get so settled 😂 it feels daunting but another reason im glad to be on this thread with everyone

Missingducks · 15/10/2025 12:10

Week 27 and now gone to 7.5. Need a whoosh to give me an instant reward and keep me focused. Your 10stone stories and amazing photos have done the external motivation but I need some "look I can do it too" boosts. So much better than 6months ago but so much more to do.

TragicMuse · 15/10/2025 12:43

My days away has meant a gain of 2lbs. Not sure how as I walked more and although went slightly over on calories it wasn’t a bingeing madness. Ah well!

On to the next week.

I’m jabbing a first go at 10mg tonight. Should do fine!

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 15/10/2025 13:40

I also think it's time to increase my dose. I've done 14 weeks of 2.5mg, and I thought it was working well, but I've realised this week that I am relying much more on willpower and just not getting the same effects that made it so easy in the beginning. I've been holding off on increasing because I think it's important to still have some hunger/use some willpower, but I've realised this week that it's also not worth the money if I'm not getting the full impact!

I have one (5th) dose left in my current pen, plus another 2.5mg pen in the fridge so I will use those 6 doses of 2.5mg to give me 4 doses of 3.75mg then see how I feel but probably move up to 5mg after that for ease.

Yes I feel in the same boat as you, currently treated myself to a Bounty (ive turned into my mother) at work because I really really fancied one and while it is still an improvement on how i was before, I know 3/4 weeks ago I wouldn't have fancied one at all and it would have been easy to resist.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 15/10/2025 14:02

Thinking of you @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne and hoping it’s the MJ and nothing sinister 😊 must be wonderful to have such a clued up gp!

@Everdecreasingcircle wow! 10 stone off is a huge achievement, congratulations 🥳 I totally get the mirror comment, sometimes I feel like I’m being too vain as I keep going back to have another look, just to check that the reflection is really me, I don’t recognise myself at all. It’s such an odd feeling

@Billybingbong, hope you are feeling better soon!

@Fffreeeeezing, I have a similar dilemma, my team works across the country and everyone wants to get together for a Christmas ’do’. We all have to cover transport, accommodation and the meals as the company won’t. Head office is running an event that no-one wants to go to. I’ve been trying to think of valid excuses to get out of it as. 1. I can’t really be bothered. 2. I don’t want to spend money on something I don’t want to do 3. Food choices!

Autumnflowers2 · 15/10/2025 14:26

I'm 9 stone and 1 pound down
Lost 4 pounds this week
But that's because I've been ill and not eating much
So I expect some will go back on when I feel better and start eating properly

I read it's the side effects of mj or WLI
But your doctor sounds fab
Hope your ok
