On the note of Christmas parties I have absolutely no idea what to wear. I just bought 2 brand new Tu jumper dresses from vinted in a size 18 but actually could have probably got into a 16. Ive still got a pretty obvious belly and am very pear shaped. I don't think I've ever felt like I've looked lovely, I spent most of my adult life wearing baggy clothes and have no clue what I should even think about wearing or where to look.

mamabeeboo · 15/10/2025 18:46

To those unsure about the Christmas parties, a couple of things I plan on doing:

  • Plan when the treat meals are going to be over December. Remembering Christmas is one day - (work do, friends Christmas Dinner, Christmas and New year's eve are my 4 days I plan on enjoying)
  • add in some exercise for those days to keep the mindset and motivation. Even if it's a quick walk on the morning of
-fast (if possible) before the meal. The 4 days above, I plan to be OMAD - and the meal out will include dessert and diet soda drinks, no alcohol
  • if full, leave food on the plate and stop eating
  • pile plate high with salad /veg/ protein

The reason I plan to do it like this is because I know that one bad day will turn into one bad week and into a 2 stone gain. So having a plan in my head of what I will do, even something as simple as keeping active during the festive period will somewhat keep the mindset.

At the end of the day we all still have to live our lives.

So I encourage you all to plan, be as strict or as lenient as you need to be. Knowing that this time next year, you will be a new woman!

PositiveAttitude · 15/10/2025 19:41

You lot have all just been blamed for me going down the Vinted rabbit hole and spending a load of money!! 🙄

I can't help wondering if I am buying stuff from one of you. 🤣

I am really struggling with what size to buy and what I actually like. Years of buying just what fits and covers me up as much as possible has taken all my style sense away.

I am also very nervous about changing to an online pharmacy. I am looking at the medicine marketplace one. Does anyone use this? I don't want a subscription as I am planning on using a higher dosage pen to continue with my 5mg every 5 days, so if I was getting a new pen every 5 weeks they would soon back up.
Although, maybe I will look at the one that @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOnesaid about too.

Fffreeeeezing · 15/10/2025 19:50

@PositiveAttitudeI've been with Medicine Marketplace since the beginning (last March) and I've had no issues with them. Didn't have to do photos which seems a bonus to me. They're always the cheapest and you don't have to faff around with discount codes

Thanks. That has reassured me that I am not making a mistake. I am not bothered about doing the photos for the first order.
If I don't order every 4 weeks will it be a problem? I think it could be more like 6 weeks between pens and I don't want that to be a problem, but I am trying to do it the most cost effective way too.

Fffreeeeezing · 15/10/2025 20:39

I have no idea about the 4 week thing to be honest, I haven’t ordered since the end of August so I’m well over the 4 weeks (I stockpiled in Aug) and will find out the answer when I try and order my next pen

Well done!

@PositiveAttitude I often wonder if I’m buying and selling to/from anyone here 😂. Vinted has become a bit of an obsession, and size differences are wild between some brands. I do have a rule (that I break regularly) that I can only spend what I sell, but I currently have about £150 burning a hole in my Vinted pocket

SilenceInside · 15/10/2025 23:22

@getthingsdone wow, what a difference!

Our brains are such strange things when we can’t see the change in the mirror, only in comparison photos.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 16/10/2025 06:37

Looking fab @getthingsdone! 🌟 I love looking at comparison photos, they are so motivating

eibbed999 · 16/10/2025 06:45

Weigh in day for me, moved from a Friday. I've now lost a grand total of 5lbs since the end of July. Not awesome, and a long way from the honeymoon period when I began at the end of March. I'm feeling in control and not tempted to give in and binge, but I'd be lying if I said this feels great. Very thankful for this thread, and being able to take inspiration from you lovely lot - it really does help to read about other people's ups and downs!

@eibbed999 So you have lost a bit more than me in one month less time. That's great! I bet your appearance, your health and your fitness have improved quite alot.
As I've mentioned in my previous post, I wasn't even able to see a difference in myself in the mirror. However, comparing photos is showing me the trueth as well as compairing my health data (bp!) and fitness improvements over the time. I love the NSVs even if the scale is moving slower than in the beginning.

GnomeDePlume · 16/10/2025 07:08

Amazing weightlosses, well done!

Re Christmas, I didnt find it difficult last year. I was in the early weeks of mounjaro and it just kept doing its thing in the background. I looked back to this thread for last Christmas and read that my total chocolate intake was one After Eight! It does help that I'm not a chocolate fan.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I'm on a range of medications and have found that mounjaro has affected them differently. Clinicians are starting to become aware of this. My warfarin blood tests have been a lot more flakey having previously been very stable.

Motnight · 16/10/2025 07:23

@getthingsdone you look great!

getthingsdone · 16/10/2025 07:27

Thank you @Motnight, @SilenceInside and @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne😊

GnomeDePlume · 16/10/2025 07:27

Weigh in and jab day.

SW 137kg BMI 53.5
CW 100.2kg BMI 39.1
GW 63kg BMI 24.6

That's 15 stone 11 Lbs in old money, 5 stone 11 lbs down.

NSV of the week: I am now able to wear the jeans I made for myself. Previously I had only been able to squeak into them.

@eibbed999 we started off at almost the same weight. Everyone on here has experienced weeks when there's been no weight loss. It's frustrating. I can't remember who but there's definitely been a recent post about doing OMAD to get the weight loss moving again.

The feeling in control is in itself a really positive thing. Are you tracking calories? I found that I didn't need to when I started MJ but after losing a few stone I had to start. Which I don't like at all 😬

Rainbowcat77 · 16/10/2025 07:41

Lots of people on here and IRL seem to recommend OMAD, is there anybody else who can’t get on with it?
I tried it and really struggled, was exhausted and very low in mood then ended up eating crap for my one meal because I felt so low.
little and often works for me much better at the moment.
i suppose our bodies are all diffferent.

Rainbowcat77 · 16/10/2025 07:44

Wow @getthingsdone there’s a huge difference there, well done!

I was definitely 'hangry' on OMAD @Rainbowcat77 😬! It's not for me unfortunately.

eibbed999 · 16/10/2025 07:56

I agree @Motnight, the still feeling in control is a win. I'm sure we're all familiar with how easy it is to have a setback and then follow the hanged for a sheep as a lamb path, and I've never once been tempted behave like that (or at least not tempted to do it as much!) So I know the MJ is still helping me. I roughly count calories, and suspect the stall is at least partly down to booze! At the start the MJ really put me off drinking, but that has definitely changed, and I need to watch myself with that. It's easy to bump up your daily calorie intake with Baileys or beer, and still convince yourself you've been 'good'! It's not like I'm out partying every night, but there has been a lot of socialising and that will be playing a part.

I do feel much better @getthingsdone, and you look fabulous. I think some of this is also related to pushing through the current weight bracket - I haven't been lighter than this for maybe 20 years, and I think my body is reluctant to let it go after decades of me abusing it and confusing it! I have an instinct that if I can fight my way through the next half stone, I'll be up and running again. Though not literally, I hate running!

Thanks for the support, as ever. Having as much to lose as we do makes this such a long journey.

UsernameShmusername2024 · 16/10/2025 09:48

So many positive inspiring comments to catch up on! Love the before and after pics, everyone is looking brilliant!

@Rainbowcat77 I've never tried OMAD but even with MJ I cannot imagine being able to do it! I generally eat 3 meals, sometimes will end up not having breakfast because work is busy and I feel pretty OK getting to lunch without it but on the whole I'm still a 3 meals a day person (just not having all the stuff in between!).

I had an NSV this week which wouldn't sound like one to most people...I fit into size 22 jeans! Honestly, I felt so skinny in them 😂Have been on 10mg for a while and definitely noticing food noise creeping in though- have really been wanting sweets and chocolate and picking at them and other things a lot. I jab tonight - have a 12.5mg pen which I was debating continuing to take 10mg from but think I might go up to 12.5mg. Remain worried about the higher doses wearing off while I still have loads to lose although I know several of you have said that didn't happen to you.

Onwards and downwards crew. Xx

mo25 · 16/10/2025 09:52

Woo hoo. I weighed 199.9lb this morning!!!

I can’t just have omad on mj as I then don’t eat enough.

SW (April 2025) 265lb
CW 199.9lb
goal 170lb.
I’m nearly 5ft 8 and 48.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 16/10/2025 10:03

I have trouble with OMAD and do get hungry early in the day.

I only do it as an occasional reset when the scales get stuck for weeks.

I also only do it for four days in a row.
I love my breakfast and do not enjoy missing it out. But OMAD works for me, to get things going downwards again.
