Couldn't see a thread for may but hoping I can find fellow starters to chat with. I've opted to go with SheMed and have just received my blood test kit through so should be starting within the next week or 2!

I'm glad I'm not the only one without a Gallbladder. I switched to decaf a few years back so I still get my morning coffee.
My side effects have settled a bit today but about 10 minutes suddenly felt nauseous. I hope it will pass. I'm going to try a little jacket potato with some salad. 🤞

DottyMcDiet · 15/05/2025 18:47

I’m struggling with my protein intake and the fact that I haven’t had a poo since Saturday 😩
Taking docusate for the constipation but only managed 69g of protein even after tuna for lunch and chicken planned for dinner.
I thought protein shakes were for body builders not for people wanting to loose weight? 🤔

Stephenkingsbiggestfan · 15/05/2025 18:52

Week 2 update!

SW 13.6
weight last week 12.13
weight today 12.12

slightly disappointed with my weight loss this week but have lost 8 lbs in two weeks!

Still no side effects.

Happy days!

W1d5 for me and I'm actually struggling to eat food. I just don't fancy anything, I literally forget to eat and have to force food down. I can't believe the appetite suppression, it's more than just feeling full or not hungry. The thoughts about food have completely changed. No side effects I don't think, I've had a cold this week but just a cold I think.

SussexLass87 · 15/05/2025 18:58

Welcome to all the newer starters! Hope you're having good weeks 💐

Nearly week 3 for me and feeling so, well, positive!? And calmer and more confident. A nice and surprising NSW.

Would definitely recommend reading the older threads from other months if you're after advice as we're all new starters this month - their advice, tips and experiences have been so helpful.

Bit queasy tonight so jammy boiled eggs, a little chilli jam and a slice of gammon with salad and I'm stuffed. Never thought I'd see the day!

CrimsonElevenDelightPetrichor · 15/05/2025 19:16

I'm starting tomorrow. Feel a bit 😬. I'd planned a quiet weekend at home in case of side effects , but not sure that's going to be possible now.

Elle771 · 15/05/2025 19:25

First jab done 💉😬 will report back 😅

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 15/05/2025 19:41

Hi all, W1D6 here and I have been soooo hungry today. I thought I didn’t have any appetite suppression earlier in the week but it seems I was mistaken given how I have felt today! Next jab due Sat am but I’m going to take it tomorrow eve as I want to move my day back to thur eve eventually so will do in stages.

I am with Voy as I wanted some handholding initially and I had my first 1-2-1 with my coach today which was good, she had some good tips to help with the protein. I need so much (112g) even at the 0.8 ratio as I have a lot to lose and was finding even with my 3 meals and a protein drink and bar I wasn’t anywhere near. Will try some swaps.

2old4thisshit · 15/05/2025 19:55

@Col28 how are you today? I had to take today off sick, I feel really rough, had bad diarrhoea last night, I did take Imodium. I’ve eaten an apple and 2 slices of toast. I know I need to eat more but I have to go work tomorrow and really don’t want runs again.
Im Thinking about stopping, but then I’ve had a 2kg loss already, I know it’s water.

Roseyposey1 · 15/05/2025 19:58

Hi

I’m at 2 weeks today, but did my third jab yesterday as I wanted to make sure I wasn’t at work if any side effects kicked in - last week I felt very nauseous on day 2.

This morning I had a coffee and a tea (same as usual) and about half an hour after I had the WORST cramp in my stomach. It was like normal stomach cramps but one continuous one and I felt so bloated. It lasted about 30 minutes, I had a peppermint tea and I’ve been fine ever since! Is there a chance this is from the caffeine? Or maybe because I took it a day early… I just want to avoid it happening again next week! No other symptoms apart from im so so cold and slightly nauseated. Very high suppression, I do think about food a lot but only in a “I don’t fancy anything at all, let me try and think of something appealing” way!!

@Col28 So sorry to hear that you are suffering too. I have had watery diarrhoea all day. I look after my dad 3 days a week so am thinking of changing day i inject and injecting in a different site. Top of thigh is supposed to be good for getting into body slower, so will try that. That's assuming that I get back to normal first@

I'll get my next one in my thigh, thank you for that advice.
The diarrhoea makes me drained so I hope it doesn't happen again. I haven't really felt any difference in my appetite tbh. I've just got to persevere I guess.
Good luck to you, I hope things improve for you. xxx

Oh God you poor thing, that sounds awful. I don't think I would continue if I had to work, I'm retired now but I sometimes think why am I doing this to myself at 71.
It's purely to lose enough weight to have knee surgery.
I was thinking of giving up too early this week. I'm so sorry you're facing so much, it really is a rotten thing to deal with. xxx

2old4thisshit · 15/05/2025 21:00

@Col28 I’m 51 and a teacher and really don’t want to take time off. I’ve managed to eat a teeny amount of salad, chicken and a small bit of pasta. I’ve had half a banana too. This nausea reminds me of morning sickness, I know I’m hungry but literally smells and taste make me feel sick.
I might leave the next jab till end of next wk, so any side effects happen in the half term.
I how you feel better soon and can have your surgery soon x

That's a good idea tbh, you'll have half term to deal with it.
I'm 22 stone now & need to be 18 stone to have knee replacement on NHS. I have Osteoarthritis in both knees now so exercising is very slow & difficult even the sitting down ones. I was a size 12 all my life, even after all 3 children. Then the menopause hit & bit by bit the weight went on just as it did with both my older sisters. I'd still be working now if not for my knees. I was an Medical Secretary & loved it.
I hope things get better for you, you do a very demanding job I can't imagine having to run a class feeling so unwell. Sending you a big hug.
God bless xxx

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 15/05/2025 21:38

Feeling a bit daunted by the road ahead tonight. Can't go back, to go back is to continue drinking heavily every day and feeling miserable and ashamed of my body, nothing fits, I'm exhausted from minor tasks, avoid going out because of shame over size.

To go forward is to lose at least 100lbs, or at least 7 stone and more. I'm exhausted and ashamed but I need to get out of the house. I would like to join a gym. I'd be woefully inept and knackered but I want to.

I want to move forward. There is no way back.

SussexLass87 · 15/05/2025 21:58

AlrightTrouble · 14/05/2025 07:13

@SussexLass87@AccidentalPrawnYouFool I’ve noticed this. I’m prone to fluctuating moods (peri, hormones generally) but I’m much more even-tempered.

W2 D4. Very mild constipation as a SE but nothing else. I’ve started taking an electrolyte fizzer in the mornings alongside my usual vitamins. The biggest difference is, of course, the lack of food noise. I could go all day without eating and not be phased in the slightest.

I’m not weighing regularly as I don’t want scales in the house (a lifetime of watching my mother weigh twice a day has put me off!) so will do a monthly check-in, but can already see and feel a significant difference.

How are you getting on? Hope the SE have improved. I think we started about the same time x

Didn't want to read and run...have you started on MJ yet. Some of the older threads , where people have been on the jabs for a while have been really helpful and inspiring...really makes you think "I can do this!" ❤️

IndieRocknRoll · 15/05/2025 22:04

W2 day 5 and pretty much zero suppression since yesterday. Anyone else finding it’s wearing off around day 4? My first week was great. No food noise or hunger pangs but I seem to have quickly got used to the jab. I was hoping I’d perhaps stay on 2.5mg for my second month but I don’t think so
