New thread as I am sure we will fill thread 2 up by the end of today!

Welcome back everyone and well done for all the losses. Some have 5-6 stone to lose, some have 2 stone and me I have put 4 stone but looking at the BMI chart I could lose 6 stone and still be in the healthy range.

Thanks for the shiny new thread @TheSpoonyNavyReader

I went to get weighed today I use boots as our scales at home aren't very good but the boots ones weren't working so had to use home ones. Says 1 pound off but im also on my period so it may be more next week!

Ive put my goal as 3 stone to lose which would take me to a BMI of just under 30 currently just under 40. But really I need to lose 5 stone but that seems impossible I haven't been that weight since before children so I'm aiming for 3 stone at the moment

Thanks for the new thread ✨️

I’m on day 5 of week 1 and annoyingly the food noise seems to be breaking through. I’ve just absentmindedly munched some of the kids sweets whilst stuck on hold!

Amjam2025 · 02/04/2025 14:06

Week 4 day 1

SW = 10 stone 10lb
GW = 9 stone 2lb or lower if possible
CW = 10 stone 1lb

So total loss so far is 9lb which I am really happy with, clothes are feeling a bit better and a couple of people have mentioned that I look slimmer. Overall, i'm feeling pleased!

I do have a couple of worries and questions though, if anyone can help...
Normally the day after i inject (I injected about 5pm last night) I get really good suppression and fullness for a good 3 - 4 days, which wears off a bit by the last couple of days but today, i've felt really hungry and tempted by all sorts of treats - even on day 1! This normally doesn't happen until the end of the week when its wearing off so im a bit worried how I'm going to get through the week. I track my calories, i usually find it easy to stick to 1,200 but im not sure I can stick to this if im feeling hungry and with a big appetite! (I'm probably just being premature and by tomorrow it will have kicked in) Anyone else had this? Im looking forward to moving up to 5mg next week, hopefully it helps.

Also I think i must be using THE most expensive pharmacy for MJ....Superdrug! Ive seen your prices mentioned here and they are amazing. I have phoned up SD this morning and the pharmacist is going to ordde to 5mg for me for Monday but how do I swap to another company? I have no physical prescription etc, do I just ask her for it and then go elsewhere?

Thanks for your help :)

EchoNova · 02/04/2025 14:13

I'm just looking at what you are all paying for Mounjaro......I'm in the Republic of Ireland and currenlty I'm paying €243 (£203) - which is the cheapest I could find 😪

SilenceInside · 02/04/2025 14:16

@Amjam2025 if you ask Superdrug for a 5mg pen they will expect you to pay! To go elsewhere you just choose a supplier and fill out their online consultation form so they can see your medical history and decide whether to prescribe. They can't take any information from another company and assume it's correct or up to date.

I'd phone Superdrug and ask them to cancel the order if possible.

Yes, of course I am going to pay for the 5mg one from SD lol but moving forwards I would like to switch to someone else.

SilenceInside · 02/04/2025 14:30

Fair enough, so just apply to a different supplier next time you want to order. You should keep the medication box with the label showing your name, the dosage and the date for the 5mg pen, so you can show that to your new supplier so they will prescribe you 5mg or 7.5mg depending on what you want.

Bipaloss · 02/04/2025 14:47

Thank you OP for the new thread.

Has anyone switched from Asda to Zava before? I noticed that Asda is actually Zava but price is at 40£ difference… I ordered from Asda as it’s my usual pharmacy and felt more at ease picking it up from my normal NHS pharmacy but if I can save 40£ switching supplier then I think I should (ordered my 5mg a few days ago so it would be for next month).

TheBossOfMe · 02/04/2025 14:49

Thanks for the new thread. W4D6 now - and suppression is really working. That and being really mindful about every forkful that I put in my mouth - asking myself whether I actually still feel hungry or feel full enough to down fork.

SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed MJ because of diabetes risk and hideous waist measurement)
CW 9st 8.9lb/134.9lb BMI 23.9 - 9.7lb down, 36.5% of target achieved. (Still overweight because of ethnicity)
GW 8st 6lb/118lb (26.6lb total target loss, 16.9lb to go) BMI 20.9 (low BMI advised as target by doctor)

Loss by week:
W1 5.5lb
W2 1.3lb
W3 0.7lb
W4 2.2lb so far

Slow but steady wins the race - and also means my eating habits are changing, hopefully permanently.

I had my first SE beyond just feeling very cold - had some chilli oil with my dim sum last night. Bad stomach cramps first thing this morning, subsided after a loo visit, but I definitely can't tolerate chilli as much.

And the alcohol consumption is reducing, mainly because I feel really sick the next day if I drink more than a glass or two. Which is a bonus effect for me.

seasidehunter · 02/04/2025 14:54

W4D3 for me now...

SW - 12st 12lb (hit mid-Feb and was the point I decided enough was enough)
SW on MJ - 12st 8lb (early March)
CW - 11st 13.5lb (at end of W3)
GW - 10st (mid-range BMI for 5ft 5in)

Quite pleased with 8.5lb loss over 3 weeks as I've been hitting about 1400-1600cal each day and gone up to 2000 at weekends in order to fuel a long run. I'm feeling some, but not a lot of, suppression and I'd say it has quietened the food noise but not eliminated it.

I debated what to go for with my next pen, but ended up ordering another 2.5mg. I've got a marathon to run (well...I'll be shuffling but the aim is to get to the end) at the end of April and I need to continue to fuel for that and I'm scared 5mg will wipe out my appetite. Perhaps I will up it after that, but I'm not sure if I actually want to entirely eliminate the food noise. As it stands I feel like I'm still having to think about my food choices, but the MJ seems to be making it a little easier. There is still willpower involved and I'm wondering if that will be a more sustainable way for me to see this through so that once I'm at GW I can transition off MJ.

Can you not order from Med Express in Ireland? As everyone that has ordered gets a code so say you used my code you would get £40 and so would I ☺️

Yeah or if you have it electronically? I used Numan this month for my 5mg and got 100 off if you want a code it meant I paid 109. I’m definitely swapping month by month.

Sheesh that’s expensive. If numan deliver I have 100 off making it 109 or if med express do there are loads of codes for 40 off x

Oh I didn't know they were based in Ireland too. I must have a look and see if I can do that.

@Bipaloss I haven't switched yet but am thinking of switching from Asda to zava as like you say it's £40 cheaper plus you can get codes for the first order. I've heard on here that Asda and zava are exactly the same as Asda use zava it's just you can't then collect at Asda it would be in the post. On the website for both Asda and zava it's rhe same doctors aswell!

So I may switch or may try a different provider

Hi all, checking into the new thread. I really echo what someone else said on the old thread about every day/week being different. I'm halfway through week 4 and so far I've had everything from full to zero suppression, sometimes feeling queasy if I've eaten something rich and other times feeling fine. Sometimes constipated and sometimes not. Lightheaded the first two weeks but not since.

In general though I'm feeling good. I have had very minor side effects compared to some. My most noticeable one is I feel very tired in the evenings. I need to go to bed by 10pm but then my sleep is amazing and deep (which makes a fantastic change) and I sleep right through til 7am. Then I'm fine during the day but shattered again when it comes to the evening.... sometimes to the point of falling asleep on the sofa! As a side effect I'll take it though as I rarely need to be out in the evenings so if it means early bedtime, that's fine.

AmythestBangle · 02/04/2025 18:47

@EchoNova I am in Ireland. Mybmi is €143.99 a month.

Lollzi86 · 02/04/2025 18:52

Feeling awful this afternoon. Absolutely freezing hands and feet and feel so so sick. Can barely eat, which I know is the point but it’s getting a bit daft today I’ve managed a protein yoghurt and 2 bites of chicken. I’ll have to force dinner down and no doubt feel nauseous all night long again. Just hoping this is a first week symptom of being on the 5mg. I might have to go back to 2.5 or 3.75 next week if this continues.

Crikeyalmighty · 02/04/2025 18:56

@SoNotaRealHousewife me too , this afternoon. Blimey those needles are so fine these days- didn’t hurt at all .

5ft 4. And age 63
sW. 94kg
target weight 70kg

I did lose 14 kg about 18 months ago by being very very careful indeed and got down to 87kg but it’s been creeping upwards again in last 6 months.

my problem isn’t that I’ve been gaining weight in last 10 years it’s that I banged a load on during a very stressful period 9 years ago and never lost it. I actually don’t eat loads as it is , usually about 1700 Cals a day apart from weekends where it’s 1700 Cala and 1/2 a bottle of wine twice a week and I eat well and healthily. It seems much harder to lose it I’ve found once over 50 - and I don’t really excercise but do around10,000 steps a day as I don’t drive -
