New thread as I am sure we will fill thread 2 up by the end of today!

Welcome back everyone and well done for all the losses. Some have 5-6 stone to lose, some have 2 stone and me I have put 4 stone but looking at the BMI chart I could lose 6 stone and still be in the healthy range.

I’m 5ft7 and a bit, I’m the same in that 11.5stone has always been where I feel comfortably slim and healthy. I also have a friend who is my height but wouldn’t dream of going above 10stone and would be mortified if she did… but I agree with the skeleton theory, she is much smaller framed than me, narrower shoulders, ribcage etc. I’m also size 8 feet, long hands/fingers etc so when I see that the recommended weight for my height is as low as 8.5stone I just think… how?! 🤔

Haha funnily enough I found out I had a big head when I first went riding when I was younger and needed a huge helmet 😂

I plan to do the same. Also, if I never lost any weight on MJ I would be happy just to have lost the food noise, I feel so much freer without it!

I completely agree with this when I was at my skinniest (if that is even a word 🤣) I was 73 kg (11.5 st)BMI 25 I looked like I was anorexic (and probably to some extent was with 1 meal a day and one hour of running each day). When I met my husband I was 80kg (12.5 st) very slim but with a BMI of 28 (!) meaning overweight . I’m 5’7 .

having said that muscle weigh more than fat and due to the rapid weight loss I’m taking into account that I will loose muscle and that I’m not as fit as my golden weight 15 years ago at 25. my goal on this journey is therefore 11-11.5 st , but when I get closer to that I will review and adjust plus upping my gym sessions with weights etc to shape my body

I think I’m big boned in a different way from you guys though. I’d say I’m not so much big boned as Wide Framed. I have skinny ankles and wrists and size 5 feet. BUT I am extremely broad shouldered, very wide hips and even my feet are wide. I’ve always had big boobs (even before I got fat) and until the last few years of weight gain I always carried my extra weight on my bum and thighs. My friends and I have often joked that I have an hour glass figure but like… mine is measuring a year not an hour. 🤣

that said in the last few years the weight HAS gone into my belly and back and really it was that which made me snap out of my ‘head in the sand’ daze.

I’m very happy with the goal I have set. I couldn’t really give a toss about the generic NHS charts (or particularly BMI if I’m really honest) I just want to look and feel better and more energetic and I want to have the confidence to do all the things I want rather than opt out of doing things I would love to do because I’m embarrassed by my size or worried that they won’t have equipment that will fit me etc etc.

Oh and one of you mentioned loose skin. It’s the one thing I’m genuinely scared of in terms of the weight loss. I’m using a collagen cream on my thighs belly and chest, and I’ve been taking collagen supplements (liquid shots and capsules) too. I’m just hoping it will be enough.

Hi just looking some advice! I can’t decide if I need to increase to 5mg or stick with 2.5mg.

GW 10st 3 maybe less will see how I feel. I’m only 5ft 2

10 years ago I joined slimming world and I was only 9st 13!! What I would give to be that weight now…

Basically I’m having little to no side effects but not sure why I’m not losing more. First week I lost 4lbs, 2nd week stayed the same (had an event that weekend but didn’t go nuts so was sure I’d have lost more) and now only half way through 3rd week and only lost 2lbs.

Definitely have lost interest in food, happy to eat my meals (usually just 2 meals as that’s normal for me) but only having small portions and not looking for more or snacking which is great. Having approx 90g protein a day from food and one water based shake. So can’t really understand why I’m not losing more? Also training at least twice a week, cardio and weight based classes.

Any advice would be appreciated 😊

Managed to get the golden dose out of my 2.5 pen. It went with a bit of force. DH was in the wings ready with a bit of strength if needed but it went easier than the squash bottle lid (I am sure they are getting bloody tighter!!)
I am moving my jab day as I have a test that is impacted by slow digestion so I'm hoping that I can jab in the evening after my test. I'm certainly not coming off MJ without a battle. I feel amazing for the first time in at least a decade. Just done 2 hours of gardening and I'm not tired or hungry. It's been a miracle drug for me.

Could I ask, at what stage did you prime the needle when you were getting the golden dose? Sorry if this is obvious. Usually it say go just two clicks along and prime, but is this still doable once you’ve broken the pen?

I’m going to try to use the golden dose next Thursday. My pen came with an extra needle and there’s plenty of liquid left so why not.

I would wait another week to take a decision as you only in your third week and have I guess almost two weeks (if I understand correctly) until next pen is due unless you do the golden dose you then have 3 weeks.

personally I had good loss w1 and w2 but with SE, w3 only 0.4 lb loss very limited SE at start of w4 I decided I go for 5mg. I’m due this dose Sunday and very ready for it as I feel the effect has worn off and not had SE for more than a week. Having said that I think my loss will be good this week but if I would continue 2.5 another 4 weeks it would have plateaued or even gained.

im in for the long run and have another 4-5 st to loose . I’m hoping I can stay on 5Mg 3-4 months fingers crossed . I’m not scared of minor SE but the serious ones which is higher risk on high dose and long term use.

you have to make a decision and many people have been successful on 2.5 for months but I originally ordered 5mg as I could always reduce dosage with clicks which I wouldn’t have on 2.5 where you would need to either switch middle through or double dose.

I went out for a meal last night, the first time since starting MJ so the first time I have had to listen to my body as to when to stop eating as I just give myself little portions at home and wow it was fantastic to eat a bit of nice food but then feel full and comfortably full! My husband said I barely ate anything but I felt really happy and satisfied!

I've just ordered collagen powder. Really hoping it helps. I religiously using body lotion though not a collagen one. I didn't get any stretch marks in pregnancy despite 2 big babies, but they were 10 years ago...

Really happy with the week, I continue to lose steadily. New pen today and I have 2.5mg and 5mg in the fridge but sticking with 2.5mg.

TOM this week so weight fluctuated a lot daily but it came down on weigh day. Found I did want a bit more chocolate so indulged in 5 pieces of Tony's rather than 1 - ha! Also, fancied one of those small tubes of Pringles on the train so went with it. Luckily no strong cravings. I did have houmous which nearly made me vomit and I've had no problems eating any type of food so far. I'm avoiding that!!!!

Week 4 Day 6. 9lbs down in total which I'm really happy with. Last weekend I went out for dinner and hosted an afternoon tea for mother's day, so if I can have a weekend where I eat out and have cake without ruining my progress then that's a huge win.
This week has been the first one without suffering from side effects, supression is still good so sticking with 2.5mg for my 2nd pen. This week I've done 3 gym sessions and at least 10000 steps a day so feeling good.

@Tantastic12 I'm having the same thoughts as you, had jab number 3 of 2.5 yesterday and am trying to decide whether to up to 5 or not.

SW 14-7
Wk1 lost 3pounds
Wk2 lost 1 pound (totm though)

So 4 pounds in 2 weeks which I know the recommendations are 1-2 pounds a week but lots of people seem to be losing alot more than that and also 4 pounds in 2 weeks seems not a lot for the amount of money this costs!

I'm due to either to a golden dose if I can get it out, or start a new pen on good Friday so I need to decisions soon with post delays etc so it's here for good Fri incase the golden dose doesn't come out I need the next pen ready.

I'm thinking of maybe ordering a 5 as with my provider 2.5 and 5 are the same price and I can maybe do 3.75 as a step up to 5.

I am itching to get to 5mg. I have lost 3lbs in 3.5 weeks so better than nothing but not better than 5:2 and very little suppression til yesterday!

Goal weight is 11st or thereabouts.

last 2.5mg jab on Tuesday coming up and then going straight for 5mg. I’m eating high protein, drinking water (also some alcohol and I’d hope to be put off it) and here’s hoping 5mg ups the suppression a little. I jabbed in my thigh this last time but some of the liquid came out - I had pressed the plunger and counted to 10, so my technique needs improving. That didn’t happen on stomach jabs.

Morning lovelies! Just done my third jab of 2.5mg and I have the weird taste in my mouth which I'm actually happy about because last week I did not have that and I also really didn't have any other effects either. Pretty sure any suppression I had last week was just the lingering effects of week 1 jab. Gone back to injecting in my thigh and hoping that makes the difference. Pretty sure I did something wrong last week when I injected in my stomach as it was honestly like I hadn't had the injection at all.

No idea if I'll stick on 2.5 or go up to 5 but I know I have to decide soon. I'm with medexpress but might switch if there's a cheaper option.

Morning all! W3D7 so jab day for me. I’ve lost another 2lbs this week, 13lbs total so far. Hoping to get a full stone by end of month! I’m trying to up exercise but not very consistent!

I’ve ordered another 2.5mg pen as it seems to be working well - good suppression and minimal side effects… feeling pretty fortunate. Jobs for the weekend include moving button on my trousers and loads of washing!

Those saying they look slim and even gaunt on weights that are technically overnight- I have the opposite problem- my face is so round and chubby (moon face) that I have a double chin whatever weight I am. When I look back at photos from my lowest weights, even when I was a teenager or when I lost a good amount of weight about 8 years ago after the birth of my first daughter (got down to under 9 stone!) I still have a double chin!

Good morning everyone! Happy to see everyone’s scales moving down, I’m on week 5 and did my first 5mg jab on Wednesday-wow! I have had zero appetite which was annoying as I had made a lovely dinner!🤦‍♀️and Thursday I had no energy at all by 5pm, had to have a nap 😂😂
so far down 15lbs which is amazing- no one has noticed so not had to make any excuses, I have also told no one as yet - boyfriend just thinks it’s my keto diet as I had already lost 2 1/2 stone doing that which he is also doing so it’s not so noticeable! The only reason for not telling anyone is I don’t want all the questions/nagging about if it’s the right thing to do. I’m doing it for me! I’m also 5ft 7 like a few others on here hoping to get in the 11st something bracket, I’m not a small frame so will gauge what weight when I’m a bit closer!

Hi, the plus side to this is you won't have extra wrinkles from loosing weight! Round faces look more youthful!

Don't worry I'm a daily weigher too and it does fluctuate sometimes. It's hard to not let it bother you but remember that's why you are weighing daily to see those fluctuations and see that it's normal.
