Hi

I am starting this thread for anyone that is starting their weight loss in March.

I have read a lots of the other threads and have never ordered until today when I looked in the mirror this morning and did not recognise the woman staring back at me, she looked unhappy and ashamed and quite frankly fat.

I got on the scales and worked out my BMI is 32, until 3 years ago my weight was around 9 stone, I am now 13 stone, peri menopause, an under active thyroid, death of a parent and not bothering with exercise and eating too much has left me like this.

My goal is to get to 10.5 stone by the end of May as that is when my son get married, and then keep going.

So who would like to join me, where we can support each other and go onto bigger and better things in life

Hi OP, I'll join you, my first dose has been delivered this morning. I will probably start on Saturday, it's my daughters birthday tomorrow and we are having a Chinese, so seems like the best idea for me?

SW: 92.3 kg today (BMI: 32.1)
GW: 72 kg would take me into the healthy weight category at BMI 24.9, so I guess there! Liable to change as I lose though.

I will be continuing to exercise, I currently go to the gym three times a week. Hoping losing a bit of weight will help me speed up my runs!

flipflop76 · 27/02/2025 10:29

Tempted to hop on this as I took my first injection yesterday afternoon so it's almost March! I feel very similarly with a bmi of 37.5 and I'm peri menopausal too. I've always struggled with my weight but gained 3 stone more after having DS and comfort eating through post natal depression!

Hi both

Welcome aboard, @flipflop76 how are you finding it any symptoms yet?

@OkyDoke have a great Chinese for your daughters birthday.

I have started this thread as I need to be held accountable.

I cried this morning as when I meet my husband I was thin, fun and lively now I am just fat, and frumpy, I have a wardrobe full of clothes that I used to wear now I wear the same 6 items of clothes as they are the only ones that fit me.

Very slight nausea but minimal. Stomach feels ok. Im still hungry and just had a couple of chocolate biscuits but I'm not snacking with abandon like I usually would!

Hi all, thanks for starting the thread @TheSpoonyNavyReader , I'm awaiting delivery of my first month, and was thinking of setting up a March thread myself, so I'm happy to join here if you'll have me!

My BMI is 29 but I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnoea and am being referred to a CPAP clinic. This has devastated me, can't face a future of sleeping with a mask on my face, so I am having a big push to shed a couple of stone and see if I can stop snoring.

I'm post menopausal, and really struggle to lose weight, I have tried many times. The food noise is very loud for me, so I'm hoping that this will help me to get to where I need to be.

SW 11st 3lb
GW 9st 7lb

Of course we will have you!

I can understand the thoughts of not wanting to sleep in a mask.

I have honestly been thinking about doing this since October and did not thinking I could do it by myself, which clearly I can’t.

I never thought I would be like I am now, just hiding away and invisible to others.

I am going out for a walk to clear my head and get some air.

I will stop off for some anti sickness meds and some ginger.

If anyone had some tips of what I should buy let me know.

Hello, can I join too please? I just ordered my first pen and waiting for approval.

currently BMI 45
20stone 5 and would like to get to 15 stone as my first goal as that’s huge by itself.

Peri menopausal also and trying WW at the moment but just struggling to lose much. Have a lot of joint pain and bad back so it’s time to make this change but I am very nervous of the possible side effects.

looking forward to being on the journey with you all xx

Hi @Pipsballoon I read this bit and had to jump in to say that I've stopped snoring on Mounjaro and seen a few others who have posted the same. Also MJ (Zepbound) has been licensed to treat sleep apnea in the US so I think this is perfect for you and I hope it works!

Lovely thread OP @TheSpoonyNavyReader and well done for starting MJ.

Goodluck to all of you. I started last September and it has been an amazing journey with great results so I'm excited for you all! Anyway, leaving your thread now 😊

Can you give us newbies any advice, also how much weight have you lost?

I have been approved for the magic drug and it should be here tomorrow

I'm so ready to start now, I keep refreshing my Medexpress account to see if my prescription has been dispatched! Trying to decide what day to start it, but I can't really do that til I know when it will be here!

I think I will take it Friday night, so that I have the weekend if I do not feel well on it.

I'm in! Just did my very first jab today (nearly March). I was so nervous about the needle, and doing everything right, but I honestly didn't feel a thing.
I feel shockingly tired this evening, and barely finished my dinner, so hoping it's a good sign it's doing its thing already. Good luck to everyone!

Hi OP @TheSpoonyNavyReader , sorry I'm just seeing this now. I've lost 20kg /44lbs since sept and hoping to lose another 10kg / 22lbs or so before I get to my goal weight.

My little advice is to just take your time and don't compare your journey with anyone else's. Some people lose faster, some slower but when you start worrying about how much others are losing, it can mess with your head if you're not doing the same thing. Best to focus on yourself.

Also, dietwise: protein is good to focus on. Fiber rich foods too and keep up water intake. Exercise where you can to build/maintain muscle. Basically do all the good and healthy things you know to do if you were on a diet or trying to eat healthily. MJ will simply help you to keep it up and stay consistent.

There's a lot of help on this board so any question you don't know, you can post and ask and you'll get good answers. There are also threads that you can search and find answers already.

Don't forget to go to your prescriber for medical issues though, they'll know better than us what may be happening and can advise better because they understand the medicine.

Congrats on your approval and goodluck tomorrow! 😊

MamaNewtNewt · 28/02/2025 07:55

Hi All I'd like to join too if that is ok. I'm going to take my first dose this morning! I'll be back on in a little while with my starting stats. I'm so nervous and excited.

@Pipsballoon I have sleep apnoea and use a CPAP machine, while I'd say it isn't as bad as I'd thought and you do get used to it, I must admit that one of the reasons I want to lose weight and am starting Mounjaro is because I hope I can eventually get off the CPAP machine.

MalteserGeezee · 28/02/2025 08:04

Checking in. First jab was wednesday. Need to lose 20kg+ according to the documentation from Superdrug. Also have high cholesterol. I need to change something. I've become sedentary, my spark has gone, I don't recognise myself any more. The healthy kickstart tricks that worked before don't work now I'm peri. I'm hoping this can give me a helping hand to make radical, positive, long term changes. Best of luck to all of us on this journey.

lilymty · 28/02/2025 08:12

Today is day 2 for me. Yesterday I woke up feeling sickly & struggled to eat most of the day but today I have woken up fine & hungry.
I have about 100 pounds to lose so it's going to be a really long journey for me but I'm being positive atm that I will get there.

MrsAlwaysRight · 28/02/2025 08:56

Morning everyone, I'm planning on taking first dose tomorrow. Will weigh in the morning and add stats tomorrow 🙂

MamaNewtNewt · 28/02/2025 09:04

Well that was a bit of an anticlimax. Went to take my first dose and the alcohol wipes weren't included. DH is picking some up for me at lunchtime so I might just wait until this evening or tomorrow morning.

SW: 18st 7.6lbs - BMI: 43.3
GW: 10st 7.0lbs - BMI: 24.5

So a nice round (pun not intended) 8 stone to lose.

FeathersMcFeather · 28/02/2025 09:04

Good luck all! Was just jumping in to say that MJ stopped my terrible snoring within weeks of starting it. I was 15 stone last May and am now 9 and a half and it's just been a relatively smooth journey tbh - honestly, most people can expect the same with the very odd normal blip

tryingtobesogood · 28/02/2025 09:11

Morning

i signed up last night and uploaded my photos this morning. I’m hoping to get verified today so will be starting early next week. I’ve been thinking about this for a long time, and after running for a train yesterday I had to finally admit I needed more help.

SW: 17st
TW: 10st

7 st to lose but expect it will take some time to get there. I would like to be able to do my seat belt up when I fly in June. And I would love to be able to run again.

good luck everyone.

Sleepeazie · 28/02/2025 09:37

Hi can I join?
I'm 5ft 1 and hover around the 12 stone 5 (last night when i took my photos for the prescription I was 12:10 - after a day of heavy food and beer with my sister!). I have borderline high blood pressure, osteoarthritis in my knees and feet and a hereditary condition which causes high cholesterol.

Ive been approved (subject to my photos meeting the spec!) of mounjaro - to collect on Saturday (tomorrow), so I’ll be starting either Saturday or Sunday - all being well.

up until 2 months before Covid I was slim. I actually thought I looked too gaunt, so deliberately put a stone on (to 10 stone).. I then was floored with Covid and bed ridden for months, where I put the extra 2 stone on.

Keto is the only diet that works, but it’s hard to maintain and probably not great for my cholesterol.

i walk 20k every day, mon - Fri (self employed cleaner who walks to each job) and am a gym member - although not consistent and also try and hula hoop a couple of times a week at home.

I would love to be 10 stone again. I always feel gaunt below that, as I’m hour glass figured usually. Fingers crossed.

I do feel nervous about potential issues with the jab, but nothing else is working so it’s time to jump in.

MrsMariaReynolds · 28/02/2025 09:42

Morning all ☀️
It's the morning after the first jab. Still tired, but not feeling any of the other symptoms (nausea, cold, etc).

I usually skip breakfast ( I do intermittent fasting on weekdays) but I think I'll have some yogurt so I'm not nauseous when I head into work soon. I've gulped down two Stanley's of water so far and my usual morning green tea. So far, so good.

Th1me · 28/02/2025 12:26

Really need this to work as I feel I've tired and failed all diets yet. 1 st jab yesterday.

I'm awaiting my jab delivery!
